I was thinking the same,  to add that stipulation. That if a a game is unobtainable that just refer to the next game down on the list. 
 

my initial thought was to add another rule that only games added to your played backlog in 2021 or before that would count for points. I worry that is too restrictive for some though. Another option would be it has to be started in the previous month to count. So if I use the same example as before, start it before month end. If points are something people want.

I now have it solved, and I think it makes this event still have something for everybody. 

 

To start the 5% goal will remain: except for those over 95%. They have the option to choose a their shorter term goal. 10 points will be awarded when you hit that goal. 

 

There is also the year goal, that you set. For instance, Last year my goal was to hit 80% completion overall. hit that longer tem goal and 25 points. 

 

In between there a number of goals you can choose to do for a month. You can get complete more than one goal in a month but you do not get points for completing the same goal twice. For instance, one goal is to complete a new game that you added to your profile that month. You cannot use that twice in one month, you can get points for say completing a game in another community event. The next month you can again gain the point s from any goal. If you throughout the year get points from every category, it will net you 50 points. 

 

Monthly goals:

 

Complete the game with the most common rarity on your profile. Must be from 2021 or before.

 

Complete the plat with the most rarity on your profile.  Must be from 2021 or before.

 

Complete all the multiplayer trophies in a game. Must be from 2021 or before.

 

Complete a free game.

 

Complete a game for another community event

 

Complete the game with the highest completion percentage on your profile. For example, on my profile, Halloween forever sits at I believe 95% complete. This gives the motivation to finish those games that have those hard trophies. Must be from 2021 or before.

 

Complete a story mode from a game that you have not played in a year or more. 

 

Complete the oldest game on your profile. 

 

Complete a PS Plus game.

 

Hit a PSNP milestone on your profile.

 

Finish a DLC for a game you have already completed. 

 

Complete a new game added to your profile that month. 

 

Get a UR trophy. Game must be atleast two months old. 

 

Raise your score by a whole PCG point. 

 

If there are more goals I am open to adding them. 

 

If you do not own the game/ system anymore or it is unobtainable, move on to the next one in that order that could be allowed for that specific goal. 

 

These goals are not mandatory. You can as always just have fun, push up that completion and inspire each other to finish those games that have been left behind because there are too many games and not enough time.

correct pick which ever goals you want to set for each month. I think I will rotate around and choose two or three and keep it like that.

I think so too, and as for tracking it. I can easily make a sheet to do it. Wouldn't take much out of my day to keep it current.

A decent week. Finished off Blue Reflection for plat 150 and then added a few more quick games after that. Nabbed one more Soul Sacrifice trophy and made some progress on a few longer winter challenge games. 

 

For this week, I'll be spending as much time on Freedom Wars as I can before the shutdown. Plus more FFXIV when I can get on. I've also got a few more easy plats I can use for a boost, but it still won't be enough to get me to my 50% goal. If I can hit 47.61% that will be a full 15% increase for the year though which is still pretty good.

Monday update!

 

I had a really good week finishing wise, maybe less trophy wise.

 

Metro Last Light + DLC (5/5) - PS3

To start off with this one. I am really happy that I have managed to get this one on 100%. First of all I did finish the DLC, the Homo Homini Lupus Est trophy (killing 100 enemies with heavy weapons) was painful. It sounds easy but you hardly could miss an enemy. Plus there was no tracker so no idea if I was even close when I didn't made it. I finally did, trophy pinged a about half a minute after I killed the last one.....stressy! The other difficult trophy was 'shadow ranger' where you couldn't kill anybody UNLESS forced. Well, that is a broad definition, isn't it? I failed in 2 runs, than failed a 3rd one because I couldn't heal myself anymore. And then on the 4th try I made it! That moment this trophy pinged and seconds later the plat....I felt invincible! ?. So finished this game after 7 years and 9 months and 2 weeks......

 

Borderlands 3 + DLC (5/5) - PS4

I just had 1 DLC left; Arms Race. Which is a kind of BR but without any human enemies. Game was great fun, not too difficult too. And this is my 100th game I made 'complete'! Love teh Borderlands franchise, in fact I just bought the GOTY version of B2 for the PS3....on my list for next year!

 

Battlefield 2042 - PS5

Playing for fun while working on some more grindy trophies

 

Last of Us Remastered + DLC (3/4) - PS4

Finished the hunter journey trophy (which is 84 MP games). Must say that the MP is actually fun to do. Only the 100% missions (you can lose all of your clan members with that) are stressful. I do like the concept of the MP, playing games to get parts in order to keep your clan alive. It is a bit more than just shoot the other team. I am planning to finishing the last remaining MP trophy (the firefly journey) before the end of the year.

 

Dead Nation + DLC (0/1) - PS3

Update # 50...so close to the end. ?

 

This was another positive week for me, even going so far as to make up all the ground I lost from starting Skyrim.  I finished out the week at 83.19% which was 0.35% up from the 82.84% last week.  Not sure if I am going to make my NG+ goal by the end of the year, but I will try.

 

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (PS4):

I finished up the last 2 DLC for this game, Dragonborn and Dawnguard, then immediately went to work on the rest of the main game trophies.  I was just short of the Platinum before the end of Sunday.  With only the civil war storyline and getting married trophies left.  I saved the getting married one for last as I used it to signal the retirement of that character.  I figured marriage and settling in to raise my adopted daughter would be a good end note.

I've been neglecting my PS and trophy hunting this year, life got in the way.

Missed last week's s update, as didn't relaly feel like playing anything new- kind of got hooke don Fallout 76 tbh, I think I'm probably one of teh few that does enjoy it for what it is.

 

This week however, Maneater: Truth Quest was on sale, so decided to grab that and play through it, which means everything that I've played this year is now at 100%

Its's been 4 months since my last update as in all honesty there hasn't been a lot to say, I've slowly cleaned up a few games that I had time for but I havent really done too much. 

 

Since my last update I managed to platinum:

- Undertale

- Celeste

- Crash Bandicoot: Warped 

- COD: Vanguard

- RE: Village 

- Dying Light

- Farcry 3

 

I was hoping to reach 83.78% (10% increase) by the end of the year and was well on track to do so with being at around 83% come the start of December. However, Dauntless released that huge patch which set me back a fair bit and so I knew that I wouldn't reach my 10% goal because of it. I decided to just start FIFA 22 as well and forget about my goal.

 

Realistically my completion percentage shouldn't change much at all for the last few days of the year as I want MHW: Iceborne to be my 150th plat and the only other game I am currently working on is Super Meat Boy. For Iceborne I only need 3 crowns (Both Lunastra and giant Scarred Yian Garuga) and I'll be finished, but god knows how long that will take and for Super Meat Boy I am trying to complete the Skyscraper warpzone with all bandages so that I can then focus on the iron man runs. I would like this to be a milestone plat and so once all iron man runs are done (if I ever become skilled enough to do them all) I'll be leaving a trophy to pop at a later date for a milestone. 

 

I would never have had the motivation to go back and clean up as much of my backlog this year if it wasn't for this event and seeing all the updates has helped push me even more. It's been great seeing how much people have done this year! Hope you all are having a good holiday and had a great year!

Finished the Firefly Journey. Which means that I have done all MP trophies (including DLC) this year. The SP is on my list for next year. Really happy with that result!

Finished my Grim run, mopped up some DLC trophies and currently on the morbid run. Trying to get this done this year ...if not, also on the list for next year

And here I am for the last update of the year! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone \o/  On this final week I could put a lot of progress on some games and ended up with a total progress of 6.12% for the year and a total of 33 games completed (with Natural Doctrine's plat this week), not my goal of 10% but I'm happy with it overall.

Final Fantasy XIV - PS5 - 65% ATM (+0%) Got to play some more and get some lvls and also advance some story, no new trophies however

Guacamelee! 2 - PS4 - 46% ATM (+28%) Guess we are basically at the end of this game, we are currently doing the clean up on the maps, so I believe this will be my first plat of 2022

Genshin Impact - PS5 / PS4 - 38% ATM (+3%) Made some more progress on this one, got the first trophy for Liyue's chests and the second for lvl ups, I'm almost at the point where I'll focus solely on achieving the remaining trophies

I am in the same boat. I had made my min 5% goal but did start a few games over the last fee months. I was making headway back and bam Dead Cells drops what like 5 dlc packs all at once, dropping me like a whole .5 almost. That was ouch.

 

I did though go back to SW Battlefront and the early progress is going well. This game is going in my next year goals to complete. Along with my gift from this year Jurassic Park Evolution 2. The graphics on that game are amazing even if it is hard. I am already stuck on story mission 2 as I have a dino that misses the forest and no matter what I do goes on the rampage. I just had to heal it since it swallowed a cell phone. Which probably means there was a guest attached to said phone. Oops. This is my second attempt. My first time i tried putting the two carnivore breeds in the same pen just to see what would happen and they killed each other. Fun game though.

Update # 51...so close to the end. ?

 

This was another positive week for me, even going so far as to make up all the ground I lost from starting Skyrim.  I finished out the week at 83.52% which was 0.33% up from the 83.19% last week.  Not sure if I am going to make my NG+ goal by the end of the year, but I will try.  I will probably post one last update on my progress at the end of the year.  This has been a fun event though even if I don't hit my ng+ goal I will still have managed to increase my completion percentage by 10.19%, I will have finished 33 games, 42 DLCs and got my unearned trophies down to sub 1k.  

 

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (PS4):

I finished up the game finally at 100%,  I like the game, at least I must since I keep buying it... that or I have an addiction and need help lol.  

 

Borderlands 2 (PS3):

Made a little progress on the dlc here cleaning up the First dlc pack too 100%.

 

Fallout 3 (PS3):

Finished off the last 2 dlc broken steel, and point look out to get this game 100%.  The over 10mb save glitch that persists to this day on this game is so annoying.  especially when I have played this on pc and xbox 360 and never ran into this.

Final update of the year! I'll probably do just one more update tomorrow to summarize the whole year, but this one will be since my last update.

Finally got all of the gold medals I needed and I've leveled up to level 30. Two trophies left: one to get to level 40 and one to get to level 50. I'm going to have to find a boosting partner to do the leveling. I've never used that part of the forums so I'll have to figure that out.

 

LEGO Marvel's Avengers (PS4) 11% (+1% from last update)

Just playing this here and there with my son. I'm playing it more than I am the Avengers Lego game with my wife but it'll still be a few months till we finish.

 

Demon's Souls (PS3) 100% (+69% from last update), Plat acheived

 

Finally finished this off (7 years 2 months completion time!!). Holy crap the grind to get a Pure Bladestone was awful. The rest of the game was great though! I'll do the PS5 version sometime soon this coming year. (Luckily the trophy list for the PS5 version isn't as bad)

 

Kena: Bridge of Spirits (PS5) 21% (+11% from last update)

 

Been slow going on this game. I'm loving it, I just had all my gaming time dry up for most of December trying to hit some deadlines at work before the holidays. The game is MUCH harder than I anticipated based both on the look of the game and the completion percentages. Maybe I'm just a lot worse at this game than everyone else. No shame in that! Pushing this off till next year.

 

Star Wars: Republic Commando (PS4) 100% (+100% from last update), Plat achieved

 

Played through this on a whim of nostalgia. It's a fun game and an easy plat. Playing through on Hard requires a bit of work in a few places, but nothing too crazy.

 

Freddy Spaghetti 2 (PS5) 100% (+100% from last update), Plat acheived

 

I played through the first one with my kids last Christmas. They loved it; it was funny and had a really silly story and a lot of creative levels. It is a game that mainly exists to boosts people's trophy counts, but it certainly had merit to it. My kids were really excited to see a sequel had been made and so I got it to play through with them. Boy was this a disappointment. It basically reused 4 different 10 second levels 10 times each and had zero of the first games creative silly story. The only thing it served then was to be platinum #74 so that Demon's Souls (PS3) could be platinum #75.

Coaster (PSVR) 100% (+100% from last update)

 

Quick little tech demo of riding 4 different roller coasters. No platinum, but a good introduction to VR. Made me sick.

 

Astro Bot Rescue Mission (PSVR) 21% (+21% from last update)

 

Holy crap has this game sold me on VR. It is incredible. You just can't appreciate how cool VR is until you experience something like this for yourself. I am totally blown away. The last time I was this in awe of something (gaming-wise) was when I played Mario 64 for the first time after not knowing 3-d games existed and growing up on the NES/SNES. Truly amazing. (Did not make me sick).

 

Up Next:

 

- Find a boosting partner for Resogun.

- Continue Kena

- Continue Astro Bot Rescue Mission.

- Try not to start too many new VR games so I don't ruin my goal at the last moment!

I made my goal of 50%! After finishing A Short Hike and Forgotten City my PCG was around 48.50%. I used up the last of my cheap games to get just above 49%. It annoyed me to be so close to the goal so I dropped another $10 on some more short, trashy games to get to 50%. Not the best way to reach the finish line, but I've wasted money on worse things.

 

My 2022 goal is to hit 60% overall completion, which is only a 10% increase instead of the 18-ish I went for this year. That way I can focus more on longer backlog games and Ultra Rares, and also not get as tempted by those cheap and easy games.

Posting from my phone and may edit later but I topped out this year at 88.54% which was short of the 90% I was aiming for.

 

Last night I decided to pop a trophy in a dozen games I was looking to do in 2022. This of course tanked my completion rate down to 82.39% but I’m going to have fun watching it go back up over the year.

 

Bring on 2022 and a new batch of games!!
