John Wick 4

As the title would suggest, has anyone seen the latest John Wick movie? I saw it last night and was absolutely impressed.  Definitely the best out of the last 3 and contender for best Wick movie in the series (although 1 will always be the best).  Any thoughts from those who've seen or want to see it?  Please no spoilers.

I saw the first three in theater on day 1 and loved the first two. But I gotta say I was not impressed with the third and for 70% of the time I did not know what was going on the screen. If the fourth is anything like the third, I might pass. But from what I read it's supposed to be a good movie.

I absolutely loved it. Tons of great action scenes. Great characters as well. Even a bit of humor sprinkled in. I also appreciated The Warriors movie reference towards the end. Great touch 1f44c.png.

I loved that too! Without spoiling too much, there was a scene that reminded me of Hotline Miami because of the song that was used.  I don't know if it was the exact song used for the game but I right away thought of the video game.

Are you talking about the part where it switches to a top down view while he's killing guys? I was thinking the same thing!

It's so good. John Wick 4 is way better than 3!

Outstanding movie with THE BEST action you're ever going to see in a movie. The top down segment REALLY had Hotline Miami vibes. Highlight of the film.

The ambiguous ending is rather interesting. They can really end it there if they want to, or if they feel inspired to make another film, they can make it very convincing. Either way, fantastic movie all around.

That song is also in the first film. It's called Shots Fired, by Le Castle Vania.

It wasn't because of the song that made it similar to Hotline Miami; since the song isn't exclusive to this film. It was the camera work.

Great movie, and great series. However, Chapter 2 will always be my favorite.

I think the Osaka intro was way too long, and at some point I got bored. I had the same feeling with the Dog sequence in Chapter 3. These sequences just went for too long.

The Paris sequence is simply fantastic though, truly marvelous from beginning to end, and the stairs section was hilarious and wholesome at the same time.

I really like the ending as well :) if this is really the end, I'm happy with it.

I saw it this afternoon and I absolutely loved it. Much better than I was expecting as I was a little disappointed with the 3rd entry. I think the first 2 movies are near perfect. I personally think that 4 is better than 3 by a pretty good margin. Great series overall though. Looking forward to Ballerina.

Really enjoyed the movie, but I would have to say from a gore standpoint I enjoyed the violence of the 3rd movie the most. I thought the gore seemed a bit toned down compared to Parabellum but otherwise the rest of the movie was fantastic!

This film was one of the best in the series! The story was so good and the scenes were excellent! My favourite scene was the casino part!

By the way, I hope you guys stayed in your seats and saw the extra scene at the end of the credits ;)  80% of my theatre crowd left and only a few of us stayed until the very end!

I liked the first two films a lot. Personally, John Wick: Chapter 2 is my favourite. The third movie was great from the action standpoint, probably the best one, but I thought the story was a bit of a mess. Also, each kill was less satisfying as it was no longer fueled by revenge. Part 3 is probably best looked at as a collection of cool well-choreographed scenes. I haven't had the chance to watch part 4 yet, but I'm going to go with that in mind and just try to enjoy cool movie kills.

Thanks for letting me know the song.  I was trying to find it last couple nights but wasn't able to.

Ballerina should be a good one to look forward to.  There's so much creative content producers can do now that the John Wick world has been expanded upon in the 4 movies.

I really want to see this but all my local cinemas are miles away and the prices are extortionate so will just wait for it to come on out disc.

I have a movie theatre near my house (used to go every week) but it became wildly expensive too. I rather just wait for digital these days.

Chapter 4 releases May 23 on iTunes and Amazon Video btw. Will probably take a bit longer if you wait to own it on disk (early July maybe).

It wasn't my favorite John Wick film. Maybe it's my second least favorite of the series (being Chapter 3 my least favorite).

I felt the movie unnecessary long, not story wise, but the action scenes were repetitive. There were moment when I was like "this is cool, but I've already seen this". The opening scene and the "hotline miami" scenes were great... everything else was OK. I mean, we already saw the Dog sequences in Chapter 3. The crowd scene was in all movies (including the infamous "fall from the top floor" and "recovery"). The villain and it's museum background, armored enemies...

I enjoyed the roundabout scene and some parts were interesting, the first and second scene of goons being run over by cars was cool. But after the 3rd and 4th goon being killed by cars, it felt they extended the same thing to exhaustion ?

I apologize I can't be enthusiastic and say it was the best John Wick movie like a lot of people, I can't even understand that statement considering 1 and 2 has everything perfectly performed. This one has one of the best main villains, but other then that and those scenes I mentioned above, it was an OK chapter.

I completely forgot he played this character!

Yeah, getting close to become typecast.

Would be the first in line for a potential Zatoichi reboot, if he was japanese.

Always cool and inspirational to see characters with disabilities kicking ass in martial arts movies.
