Dutch/Flemish VITA users: Where do you get your games?

Since a year I have a VITA and I am using it during my nightshifts. I really like the console but I have trouble finding games. I bought some of Marktplaats (Dutch online marketplace) but it seems they are just really hard to come by.

Physical copies in stores are even harder to find. Regular gameshops generally do not sell them. There is a collector game shop near where I live which has a fairly big collection of games (from NES to current-gen consoles), but also almost no VITA games.

Does anyone know a shop in the Netherlands and/or Belgium that sells these games? Location doesn't really matter. Also, since they are already hard to come by, a big collection isn't neccesary. I am willing to travel.

On a note: I like owning physical copies of the games I play and I also like browsing through shops. I generally do not buy online copies anymore because of this.

If the situation in Belgium is the same as it is here in the UK, Ebay is your only real option for getting Retail copies of Vita games but the prices are extortionate, especially for the rarer/more sought after titles :(. You might get lucky and find one in a charity/second-hand shop but normal retail stores rarely ever stock games for legacy platforms any more.

From the perspective of someone who lives in the UK, we do find Vita games in charity shops sometimes but sadly they're usually on par with prices elsewhere. However, I feel better paying the price to support a charity.

But yeah, outside of independent game stores, CEX and charity shops, the UK is lacking in the PS Vita physical games department. However, I do like to be on the lookout for games sometimes.

You can also try apps like Vinted or Wallapop (does it exist in the Netherlands?). It's just second hand marketplaces. But yeah, it's hard to find them elsewhere.

Never heard of Wallapop but I know Vinted for the re-sale of clothes, not games. But I will look into it, thanks.

There's an increase in the number of sellers on Amazon Japan who are willing to ship overseas. Of course, quite a few of the games will be in Japanese only...

Sadly, I don't speak Japanese. I reckon if all else fails I can always try that.

Best bet is to keep an eye on https://www.marktplaats.nl/

I used to get some at Game Mania, but they barely have any left at this point

I'm always keeping an eye on Marktplaats but you know how it goes.. Not every seller can be trusted.

There are a few specialised gameshops with Vita games in NL like Nedgame, Gameshop and 1 in Uden where I always forget the name of, but Google is your friend. But Vita games in general do not come cheap nowadays, because of the rarity and limited sales of both hardware and software. You could try to buy bundles.

Also, I do not understand the JP language, but there are titles that can be played without any knowledge and even titles that will play in English when you put them into your Vita. I got a few of those through eBay, but that was when shipping costs were still affordable.

Nedgame.nl is always my go-to store for games more retro-ish games. They have quite a big catalogue of vita games, as well as import games and limited games from LRG. Always keep an eye on marketplace websites (like marktplaats). Also for import japanese games I highly suggest looking for a seller that will export it, for example nin nin games.

I find retro games conventions to be a good source of 2nd hand games and also getting to know smaller sellers in the Netherlands. Not perse vita, keep that in mind.

There are a few con's in the Netherlands, but my go-to is retrocon in Zwolle.

With the store in uden you probably mean 2playergamestore : https://www.player2gamestore.nl/

It's really difficult to find games in The Netherlands, especially decently priced, but as others have said: second hand/charity shops might have some games available and I also use nedgame.nl. Whenever I travel I also go to charity shops or second hand stores there, you might get lucky.

This summer I visited Japan and it's the valhalla for Vita games. I bought around 20 games while I was there, could easily have bought a lot more. It's overwhelming to see the amount of Vita games you can purchase there. Both in second hand stores like Book Off or in the multitude of gaming stores in Akihabara in Tokyo. I don't speak Japanese, but with Google Translate (through the camera on your phone) you can quite easily get decent translations. I've never attempted importing games from Japan, but seeing the positive recommendations above, I might try that as well for the games I missed out on this summer.

There is a surprising amount of Vita games in places like Vinted. Obviously these are all used, however, I have personally never encountered a problem because of this.

Stores usually either don't have any, or very little (mostly just sport games). Whenever I visit one of these stores, the first thing I check is wether they have any Vita games. It's really like a treasure hunt these days.

There is one other place where you can see and touch these games before you buy them, let alone a big pool to choose from, but it's not always available. Conventions. There is one coming up in Belgium on 21/22 october, in Ghent (FACTS). Unless you enjoy cosplayers, anime posters and Vinyl POP! figures, there is little reason to go to these (maybe meeting famous people), except video games. There are usually multiple vendors with hunderds of games, old and new. You could check it out!

Are you looking for some specific titles?

Some easy 2 play for during my nightshift like Sly Cooper or LEGO (which I can find pretty easy)

But specifically The binding of Isaac, Papers, Please and the Digimon Games
