Ok, I can't figure out how to squeeze any more badges in, so I'm think I'm ready to commit:

274e.png 1/10: Lacuna (PSNP (wip) 20 hrs, ~3%)

274e.png 2/10: The Forest (PSNP, 55 hrs, 3.6%)

274e.png 3/10: Fallout 4 (PSNP, 70 hrs, 11% -- RPG)

274e.png 4/10: The Last Guardian (P$, 25 hrs, 3%)

274e.png 5/10: Kingdom Come: Deliverance (PPx, 150 hrs, 2% -- RPG)

274e.png 6/10: Final Fantasy 7 Remake (P$, 75 hrs, 13.5% -- RPG)

274e.png 7/10: Yakuza Kiwami (P$, 100 hrs, 3.4% -- RPG)

274e.png 8/10: Lumines Remastered (P$, 30 hrs, 1.6%)

274e.png 9/10: Red Dead Redemption (PSTHC, 80 hrs, 3% -- RPG)

274e.png 10/10: XCOM 2 (PST-F, 100 hrs, 0.87% -- RPG)

(Yes, I have no shame for that 9/10, thank you for asking 🙃)

Badges: (12)

Backlog Breaker (XCOM 2, Red Dead, Fallout 4)

Guide Writer (Lacuna - work in progress)

Y Tho? (The Forest)

Award Winner (Fallout 4)

Fanboy (The Last Guardian)

Brownie Points (FF7R)

Above and Beyond (Kingdom Come: Deliverance, plus Yakuza and XCOM)

Old School (Lumines, Yakuza Kiwami, FF7R)

Rare Genre (Lumines - style points for both Party AND Music.)

Rare Letter (XCOM2)

PS4 Master (Everything but Red Dead. That $500 PS5 was a really great purchase.)

One Trick Pony (RPG - 6, tagged above)

🔥 Hardcore🔥 (5)

1%er (XCOM2)

Grinder (705 hours -- all times taken from same sources as difficulty)

Ultra Rare (8 total -- had to add one extra because Lacuna is unreliable.)

Gotta Catch 'em All (12 from regular alone)

Grandmaster (4 hardcore badges)

That's 17 total. I could potentially bump it up to 19 with OCD and finishing another list first, but being 1 short of 20 would probably drive me nuts. Either way, this is way more ambitious than my 2023 list which was 10 badges. (I also have a second (more casual) list planned, but too much TBD to post yet.)

Wow 17 in one list! Shooting for that Most Badges in a Single List title I see, very nice. Good find on that 9/10 for Red Dead Redemption PS3 too!

After a short familiarization phase here in the forum, I will be happy to start the year 2024 with a challenge. Here is my list:

  1. Wolf Among Us (PS4) - PSNP 1/10
  2. Ratchet & Clank (PS4) - PlayStationtrophies.org 2/10
  3. Marvel's Spider-Man (PS4) - PSNP 3/10
  4. Splinter Cell Pandora Blacklist (PS3) - PSNP 4/10
  5. Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow (PS3) - PSNP 5/10
  6. Final Fantasy VII Remake (PS4) - PSNP 6/10
  7. Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (PS3) - PSNP 7/10
  8. Elden Ring (PS4) - PlatPrices 8/10
  9. Lies of P (PS5) - PlatPrices 9/10
  10. The Evil Within (PS4) - PSNP 10/10

@Rebourne07 Does Ratchet counts as an animal? Or Spider-Man as Spider? :D

  • EMLwD2p.png Anthropomorphic - Platinum a game with an animal main protagonist (Ratchet & Clank)
  • 8atwz9Z.png Brownie Points - Platinum a game from Rebourne07's favorite series (Final Fantasy) (FF7)
  • PoKXZWi.png Fanboy - Platinum a Sony 1st Party Exclusive (Spider-Man)
  • VeuCO8F.png Licensed - 2 or more games on your list are licensed games with characters originating from movies, comics, etc. (Spider-Man and Pinocchio)
  • 9ecFreL.png Old School - 3 or more games on your list are remakes, remasters or PS1/PS2/PSP games (Splinter Cell and FF7)
  • g0GPymH.png Package Deal - Platinum 2 or more games in the same list from the same game collection/bundle (Splinter Cell HD Collection)
  • Q5AKg6t.png PS3 Master - Platinum 3 or more PS3 games on your list (3x Splinter Cell)
  • KqPK6IM.png PS4 Master - Platinum 6 or more PS4 games on your list
  • 1a8HRhZ.png Series Conqueror - 3 or more games on your list are from the same series

Spider-Man doesn’t count as a spider. But Ratchet may count as an animal if you can confirm what real life animal he’s supposed to be. I genuinely don’t know, I thought he was just a fluffy mascot of some sort lol

Looking at my second list I would like to take a spin at Rebourne-Roulette.gif Rebourne Roulette

@Rebourne07 Question Answers below

What types of games do you love? (Be thorough, not just listing genres)

Role-playing games and action adventure titles are my go to. I enjoy turn-based over real-time strategy, and have grown to enjoy Souls games after the initial learning curve.

I also enjoy playing simpler co-op games with my wife (hence all the Lego Plats.)

I have no issue with longer games (I did chuckle that in my 2023 wrap-up Diablo II was my game of the month every month from February to June).

Although saying that my first list for 2024 is a Grinder list so be kind :)

What types of games do you hate? (Be thorough, not just listing genres)

I don't really hate any games but I shy away from Fighting Games, Platform Games, serious Racing Games and Multiplayer (specifically) Shooters, because I am not particularly good at them. [Pretty much most multiplayer games teach me that I'm not very good compared to actual people]

Not a fan of mindless easy 'games' solely for padding platinum numbers - I don't mind easy plats but there does have to be a game or worthwhile story attached.

What PlayStation systems do you own?

PS3, PS4 and PS5. But would prefer PS4 / PS5 for 'New to me Games' if possible

Are you OK with any new / full price games?

Yes

Are you OK with M rated games?

Yes

Do you prefer indies, AAA titles or no preference?

No Preference

Do you want games from your backlog, games new to you or no preference?

New to Me

The List already has a number of games from my backlog

For reference current tentative list looks like this [Book of Spells(2), Midnight Suns(3), Chivalry II(5), Batman: Arkham Asylum(6), Dead Nation(7) and Darkest Dungeon(8)

Are you interested in maximizing badges earned?

Yes [Particularly hoping for a Final Fantasy game that fits]

For reference the list all ready covers - PS3 Master, Peripheral Master, Licensed, Backlog Breaker and hopefully Royal Flush

Give me a number 1-3

@Rebourne07

I would like to commit to one list myself this year. Since 100% games are a thing next year i want to clean up some of the games i have played and want to play. I have some questions before i choose my games.

I have Entwined in my backlog, which i would like to finish for good. You play as a fish and bird but it is more visual and artful a fish and bird. Would that count for the animal Protagonist badge?

And since i have a blast with Olliolli 2 this year, i wanted to give OlliOlli a try. There are two versions, Olliolli and Olliolli epic combo Edition. Both have the same trophies but different ratings on Meta games. Olliolli (10€) is a 7.5 and Olliolli epic combo Edition (25€) is a 8.5. Would it be okay to use the epic combo Edition rating for a 9 even if i play Olliolli tp save some money or do i have to play the epic combo Edition for the number to count?

Thanks for your thoughts on that as always ;)

You know what, I'll take a Rebourne roulette because why not (need to change my 5/10 anyway because i didn't get the mirror's edge catalyst online trophies in time)

  • What types of games do you love? (Be thorough, not just listing genres)

TBS (turned based strategy) and RTS (real time strategy) - i always liked the idea of commanding units around a map and destroying the enemy. Racing - I always found it fun to race a car around a track and i also like just looking at them sometimes. Open world games - not technically a genre but i always liked exploring an open world and engaging in it's activates, also like just screwing around sometimes

  • What types of games do you hate? (Be thorough, not just listing genres)

Horror - always been a scary cat (used to get scared at FNAF lol)

  • What PlayStation systems do you own?

PS4

  • Are you ok with any new / full price games?

Yeah, should be fine

  • Are you ok with M rated games?

Depends what the pegi rating is (european rating system), if it's a pegi 18 then no but everything else is fair game

  • Do you prefer indies, AAA titles or no preference?

Generally prefer Indie but don't mind a few AAA games

  • Do you want games from your backlog, games new to you or no preference?

Preferably from the Backlog but it wouldn't be the end of the world if it's a new game

  • Are you interested in maximizing badges earned?

No

  • Give me a number 1-3

2

  • Give me a number 4-6

5 - have a funny feeling that the numbers are related to the game difficulty rating and i need a new 5/10 so...

  • Give me a number 7-9

9

Why i'm at it some more for the resource sheet @Rebourne07 :awesome:

nah he is a lombax and an anthropomorphic alien creature. I guess I will think again and maybe adjust my list if I want to go for the badge

1/10 - Farming Simulator 17 (Simmer badge, shortest and easiest of the Farming Simulator games)

4/10 - Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII - Reunion (Brownie Points badge)

9/10 - Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (Award Winner badge)

Good to have you this year too! Yes Entwined will count towards Anthropomorphic cause its clearly a fish/bird they are portraying that you're playing as and yes you can count Olliolli 1 as a 9 according to the criteria you've set out :)

@Rebourne07 thanks for your reply on my questions. I think this is my first draft of my next years list. I am not sure for my 1 and 2 but I guess this can be decided over the next year. Maybe i try a whole list with only 100% games. That would be a funny goal again :D

6 - Kick & Fennick (Meta)

@Rebourne07 got a few questions for you:

For EMLwD2p.png Anthropomorphic, would The Wolf Among Us count? The main character appears human, but the game description says he's actually the big bad wolf from Little Red Riding hood disguised by magic. I haven't played the game to confirm, but it looks he has both a werewolf form and a full wolf form that he can change into. Would that qualify, or is it too unorthodox?

For GfmFq8n.png Guide Writer, do DLC guides or supplemental guides (100% walkthrough, Collectibles, etc.) qualify, or does it have to be a full specific Trophy Guide with a difficulty rating and everything?

For jb4IAS0.pngMoney Bags, how does this work with regards to collections that have a single price but multiple plats? Do they all count as individual games no matter what, do they only count if they're also sold individually, or does it only count as one game/purchase?

For PoKXZWi.png Fanboy, I think it could help if the definition of First Party Exclusive was specified a bit more in detail. I know there are a ton of games/studios I just sort of assumed were first party that it turns out are/were actually second party. With all of the Sony acquisitions over the past few years, it's also gotten really confusing to keep track of. For example:

Spider man (2018) is a second party exclusive (made with a first party IP). Insomniac was acquired in 2019, meaning...

Miles Morales (2020) and Spider Man 2 (2023) are both first party exclusives. Where it really becomes a headache is:

Spider man remastered (2020) is a second party (now first party) remaster of a now-first-party studio's second party game. Wut

You've also got Returnal listed as a first party exclusive, but wikipedia says the game released 2 months before Housemarque was acquired. Does that mean being bought out retroactively makes the games first party, or are you just as confused as I am? 😆 (Or am I just massively overthinking all of this....)

Also, I wanna get verification for this 6/10 guide for Cyberpunk before I use it. Fits all the criteria, but I don't think I've seen that site used before, and the 6/10 rating is double the 3/10 that literally every other guide uses. (Hilariously, it's even listed as 3/10 elsewhere on that site.) I really wanna try and get around to Cyberpunk next year, but that 3/10 slot is too crowded!

And finally, a few possible resources if you want to use them:

Don't Starve - 8/10

Pixeljunk Eden - 8/10 (Also a 10/10 on the PST Forums)

Bionic Commando Rearmed - 9/10 , 10/10

thaks to Above and Beyond giving me three seperate badges

A badge is awarded to a list, not a game. So a badge can only be earned once per list.

That's what @Rebourne07 wrote in the first post in the spoiler tag under Badges. So no, you'll get only one Above and Beyond badge even if you complete more than one game that qualifies.

And i have a spotted a little error i think. You wrote under "Ultra Rare" everything except 3 games are on PS4. Certainly you mean "Ultra Rare" instead of "PS4"? :)

Nice catch, not sureh ow I missed that.  And thank you!  I actually can apply Ultra Rare and S4 master since you point out my faux pas, so the Above and Beyond only giving one doesn't even matter.  Thanks for the call out! Edited the original post.

Already joined one backlog event, why not join another. I don't have much planned aside from wanting to do a Rebourne Roulette. Answers will hopefully be within a spoiler to cut down on clutter. Will probably post an official "list" on completion of a game once the event starts.

Spoiler
  • What types of games do you love? (Be thorough, not just listing genres): My preference on games especially recently has been towards rhythm games and RPGs. I have really enjoyed the high skill ceiling that a lot of rhythm games offer. It's for this reason that I sunk over 200 hours into DJMax the previous year. As for RPG I prefer real time over turn based combat but I enjoy just settling in and grinding out whatever needs to be done.
  • What types of games do you hate? (Be thorough, not just listing genres): Generally speaking I will play most genres but I avoid shooters wherever possible. I have just never really enjoyed the genre with a few exceptions. There are simply not many genres that I dislike to the point of avoiding.
  • What PlayStation systems do you own?: Ps4 Only.
  • Are you ok with any new / full price games?: No
  • Are you ok with M rated games? : Yes
  • Do you prefer indies, AAA titles or no preference?: No preference
  • Do you want games from your backlog, games new to you or no preference?: Backlog.
  • Are you interested in maximizing badges earned?: Yes
  • Give me a number 1-3: 2
  • Give me a number 4-6: 5
  • Give me a number 7-9: 9
