Popular Post the1andonly654
Added some new ones. Control on red. I've played it before and didn't like it all that much. After playing Alan Wake Remastered, I kinda wanted to give this another chance to make an impression... Night and day honestly. Maybe it was the Alan Wake connection, maybe the FPS on PS5 made so much of a difference, because this was one of few games that I thought were barely playable on base PS4. I don't know, but I like Control now. Graveyard Keeper on light blue. I've been putting off this game for so long that it left Plus almost a year ago and I didn't even know until the "the dlcs I needed are on sale" moment, when I realized that sure, they were on sale... But I'll actually have to buy the game now. So I did and I loved most of it. Haven't played anything like that since the Harvest Moon game on the PS1 and I really enjoyed it, even with all its flaws. Quake 2 on Grey. For the third time since release. I thought I liked it less... Transistor on Green. Weird and honestly a bit pretentious. Once it clicked, the battle system was surprisingly fun but for some reason it didn't click until almost the end of my first playthrough. Supergiant Games' games are just not compatible with me it seems, since I had a very similar experience with Bastion. And Tekken 8 on white... The main reason why I didn't wait with an update until I've finished another game I'm currently avoiding due to it being boring. I still don't care about Tekken's story itself or its single player modes in general, but it actually was fun to watch. I fully expected to skip it but I had a blast, with the music, animation and the absurdity of it all. Edited January 26 by the1andonly654 Typo. Left all the wrong 'I's" and "I've's" intact.
Popular Post Breakingthegreen
Hoist your nets, Raise your pots, All is death, Plague and rot. Compass spins, Stars have fled, We are all Dead Ahead. Have you been playing Powerwash Simulator lately but thought that there weren't enough eldritch horrors that made you scream? Well my brown entry may be for you, It's Dredge. Why the Powerwash comparison? Well at its core, Dredge is a job game: catch fish, sell fish, use money from fish to upgrade your boat to able to catch even more fish; rinse and repeat. But this collection of islands have a small wrinkle in the form of Lovecraft inspired monsters that turn your little fishing vessel into a one-way submarine. As you continue to upgrade your ship in the game and gain unholy powers from the weird man who refuses to leave his mansion of a one man island, you'll start to feel more confident and indestructible (so long as you don't break your engine. But rest assured that death is still coming for you. I was late in the game, trying to catch the last of the fish I was missing, I was looking through my telescope looking for Moonfish, and because of that missed the telltale sign of the most dangerous monster's fin, onward I travelled and I screamed only seconds later as a giant sea snake completely wrecked my boat from behind; I was with my brother at the time, and he got to see my undignified scream. Danger increases as your panic level increases, and panic increases at night when you run into whispers. Inversely my panic increases before night when I realised I was nowhere near a dock and was about to get hit by an enormous tentacle. Probably the two weak points are that the act of fishing are very basic with very little variety between species, it's all a one button timing affair. The other thing is that storage is really not optimised for consoles and you may be forced to delete something if you bought a tool but didn't have enough space for it in storage. I'd say to give it a play, I know I will again when I spot the DLC go on offer. Edited January 27 by Breakingthegreen

Popular Post DrBloodmoney
One More Entry Down! Box: Red Game: "Laika: Aged Through Blood" A really cool, really well made Metroidvania, with Trials/ Joe Danger style controls. In the same way that Yoku's Island Express combined the traditional Metroidvania with Pinball mechanics, Laika: Aged Through Blood combines it with Trials-style bike controls - and mixes in a bunch of extremely fast, extremely deadly shooting mechanics with slow-motion aiming. The combat is deadly as fuck - you die in one hit, (or one bad landing, or one bike flip), and so do the enemies, in a very Hotline-Miami sort of way, and the combat feels like a 2D version of Rollerdrome. It moves really well, is super well designed, has an excellent (and EXTREMELY bleak) story, some great art, and genuinely some of the best music I've heard in a game in a while! Highly recommended for any fan of Metrodvanias, Trials, Hotline Miami, Rollerdrome, foxes, ultra-violence, dirt bikes, Mad Max, extreme sadness, nausea-inducingly brutal descriptions of torture... ...and lengthly discussions of menstrual blood. (you heard me.) Seems like this one would work for White or Red... ...so since I've got my first White done, Red is the winner! I'll probably move Tekken to grey and Quake to black, or Graveyard Keeper to brown and Tekken to blue, both seem to be more fitting. Thanks.

serrated-banner9
@DrBloodmoney What colours would work with the PS4 version of The Light in the Darkness? Another game where i waited for a specific day, although this time it was a last minute "Play this on this day" thing. In case people is not aware, today (the 27th) is Holocaust Memorial Day (At least in the UK) and since this game is about the Holocaust i decided to play it today. Overall it's a good game but could have been better but as a n educational tool it works pretty well in showing the fear of Jews under Nazi occupation and the emotional punch is pretty well done (even though i slightly spoiled it for myself because I like submitting stuff to MobyGames but that's beside the point). The game is free on the PSN Store and it's only about an hour long so i'll highly recommend it you try it even if just for the novelty.

Popular Post Fanatixa1
Hi everyone, I've completed Arcade Paradise this week for Pink. Quite a fun game with many references to old arcade games. I enjoyed the gameplay loop and different games and goals needed to complete this.

Popular Post graphic_violins8
Two more down for Jan in the form of Thomas Was Alone - Grey (text) and Orange for Call of the Sea (character hair). My goal is Amneisa Collection for black and Masquerada Songs and Shadows for Blue (hue surrounding the wording).
Popular Post Beyondthegrave07
Okay, so I finished I am Setsuna for game #3. I think it could go either under light green or white, but if you ask me, white is the dominant color, so it's going under white. The game overall is both a hit and a miss for me. The combat is very nostalgic of Final Fantasy 7, 8, or 9 and the story is very reminiscent of Final Fantasy 10. It has a good twist at the end of it, but a there are a lot of holes in the plot that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The combat and the customization is the star of this game. It's by far the best part of the game. There's a lot of combos that characters use together and allows you to really make a unique party that gels together which makes it a ton of fun. There's also tons of passive abilities that let's you really use characters in cool and interesting ways. The problem with this game is it's almost a PS1 game to a fault and is missing a lot of quality of life features you'd expect for a game made after the year 2000. For instance, the combo system I adore is very difficult to use or see in the UI. There's no way to tell what all the possible combos are between the 3 characters when equipping abilities which makes it kind of clumsy to use. You have to go through each ability for each character to figure out what goes together. It's really cumbersome. Furthermore, there's no in-game map, no auto-save feature, and no inns to rest at so the only way to heal yourself is with items or leveling up which is just... a weird choice. The game also has a feature where you can improve your abilities (both active and passive), but it's locked behind some RNG thing called "fluxation" which makes it just... unfun to grind out (and is kind of a grind for a trophy too). Overall though, I still had fun with it... I just felt like there was a lot of lost potential with this game that would really make it special.

JayDeLosDioses
@DrBloodmoney me again with another question, sorry 😅 Does skin color count as tan? Like in the Plague Tale picture for example? If not I use it as my brown.
Popular Post damcrac5
Just finished Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for my 3rd completion. This was a Christmas gift from my son, so I had to jump into it earlier than later. The story in this one was just as good as the first one, but it had a very unexpected twist. I did not expect the story to play out the way it did, and am surprised I somehow avoided that spoiler for better part of a year. 60fps was great, but weird transition to 30fps cutscenes. Other than that it ran well minus 1 game crash that came in my last 30 minutes of play, lol. Now I need to decide what to play next. I'm cleaning up the XP grind in PGA 2k23 for Grey, which I could use DrBloodMoney to verify that the background being grey and dominant works here. . So the choice is Crisis Core: Final Fantasy Reunion (another Christmas gift) vs something like FF8 or FF 4 Pixel Remaster. Though I'm not sure if FF8 would count as red. Feel like that one is only white.
