Popular Post DrBloodmoney
Two More Entries Down! Box: Yellow Game: "Tchia" A lovely looking sandbox love-letter to the developers home of New Caledonia - it's a narrative based in local island mythos, wrapped in a a collect-a-thon style freeplay environment, that feels somewhere between A Short Hike and Kena: Bridge of Spirits, with a little bit of Tearaway thrown in for good measure. A little longer than I might have expected - the number of collectibles is no joke! - but really that stuff exists to give the player an excuse to explore the beautifully detailed environments, and have fun in the traversal, hopping into the spirits of different animals and swimming / prancing/ flying around and feeling like they are on holiday! A pretty solid Yellow for this one! Box: White Game: "Inked: A Tale of Love" A narrative Puzzle Adventure from a small team in Croatia, it uses a really distinct and gorgeous pencil-drawn art-style, to tell a meta-tale of a samurai, who's heartbroken creator, the artists - who's hands are occasionally seen, like in that one Daffy Duck Cartoon - captured then destroys his wife, mirroring his own pain at the loss of his own. The puzzles are pretty good, if relatively simple, and the narrative works fairly well for a simple tale, though there are some issues with the fiddly controls, as the game is very clearly designed for a mouse and keyboard / touch-screen. this one could work for a blue entry, but given how rare "generally white background" game tiles are, (and since I rather stupidly blew trough one during my inter-rainbow time at the end of last year, with The Suicide of Rachel Foster!,) I'm using this one to cover that more difficult colour, which I think it works well enough for!
Popular Post Limitedsphere
Time for my first update. I had a couple of games lying around near completion, so I think I got a good headstart with four entries down already. I really enjoyed both Call of the Sea and Deliver us the Moon as really solid indie puzzlers. Both are short and sweet games I can easily recommend. Killzone Liberation is a nostalgia trip, but it's a very dated experience, so I'll put it down as a recommendation only if you are down for some tactical retro Shoot 'em Up fun. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a strong recommendation for some light platforming and Souls-like fun. I found this hard to put into a color category, because it's a mish-mash of many elements. I ended choosing grey because I found it to be the dominant tone in the image. Edited January 8 by Limitedsphere Spelling
Popular Post the1andonly654
First entry with three games. Stranger of Paradise on Maroon. A Nioh-lite, so to speak, but better than I expected, with a pretty surprising ending. I haven't played the original Final Fantasy so it's not much of a "Final Fantasy game" to me personally, but all the different levels with music and themes referencing different FF games... Nostalgia kicked in hard sometimes. Honkai: Star Rail on blue. Finally, after two months. I liked it overall, I'm actually gonna keep playing it and doing the daily stuff, hoping for new trophies. Loved the gameplay, liked the story in general, but the way it was presented, and especially all the post-story, side or event related quests... Just when you think they'll stop talking, they talk a lot more. Every few steps at times. And Nobody Saves the World on yellow, if the yellow wand is enough. I actually found it very annoying to play at first and almost dropped it. But once I unlocked some new forms and abilities, it became much more enjoyable, with the exception of all the late game grind. Pretty fun overall but definitely worse than the Guacamelee games.
Popular Post Breakingthegreen
Hello again friends. So Tinykin (PS4) has launched on Extra. And like everyone with taste, I was eagerly awaiting to play it. And I have now and I can review it. So let's do that for my pink entry. The game takes place in one house and each level takes place in one of the rooms... But You're Tiny! It is certainly a underused setting ever since we stopped getting movie tie-ins featuring rodents. The story in Tinykin is pretty short to explain, here it is: "You make a device." Yeah the main driving force isn't that part. It's all the sub stories within the game. Each room has an item that you need for the device, and the insects that inhabit the room are willing to give it to you if you solve incredibly complicated political problems which can usually be solved by the concept of moving stuff, (Now that I've written that as a joke I just realised that moving stuff and funds if literally the bedrock of politics) Tinykin is a collect-a-thon platformer, a genre dear to my heart thanks to my extensive Spyro playthroughs on the PS1 as well as the original Jak and Daxter which I'm pretty sure I spent more time playing in my childhood than the time I spent doing anything productive. Unlike those games however Tinykin is a lot less violent. Say what you will about platformers of old, but the presence of enemies is something you don't really think about until they're completely absent, is it good or bad that Tinykin doesn't have them? Hmmm... maybe it'd be better with them at the start, but I can definitely see them being annoying in the clean up portion of the game. I just realised that I've neglected to mention that this is like Pikmin, where one of the things you collect is the little Tinykin characters which all have one of 5 abilities, but if we are being honest 4 out of 5 of them are just keys to puzzles with gimmicks, Pink tinykin are keys that also act as inventory slots, Red are keys with an ammo supply, and Blue tinykin are keys that slow the game to a halt. Green Tinykin are ones that actually how you play the game, so they're the best ones by far. That being said, they are so cute that would have given them all names if I could keep track of them all... and I didn't make half of them explode. I think I've been sounding a little negative so far, but collect-a-thon gameplay is pretty much an automatic tick which is hard to mess up for me. But the presentation is the "OMG! 😍" for me, full and pretty 3D envirnoments as well as fluidly animated 2D Character models. The music is also great, it dynamically shifts depending where in the room you are. Literally the only weakness is that there is only one character with voice acting. Do I recommend it? I do. If I gave ratings I'd give it an 8/10, but I don't give ratings, so I give it 😃/🤩

Popular Post jonesey46
Starting this challenge off exactly the same way I did last year, with Demon's Souls! So far, Demon's Souls has been my first platinum of 2022 (Remake), 2023 (EU version) and now 2024 (NA version) and I plan to do the AS version next year. Why? I don't know. Oh, also, I finished Geon which took me 15 years and 2 months to complete, no biggy. It fits quite lovely into the light blue section so I'm happy with it. Only 14 games to go! I failed to finish this challenge last year but I'm confident I can do it this year.

Han_the_Dragon
Wasn't there a spreadsheet with a list of games that were "validated" for each color or that couldn't be used in last years thread? I was quite sure of it, but now I can't find it.. Anyway, I say this because I'm unsure where to place Steins;Gate Elite.. I'm also unsure of GT Sport + Vampire: The Masquerade interchangeability.. and lastly about Honkai: Star Rail, not sure if I can mark it as light blue instead of black, since I know that I can easily get other black ones, but not sure about light blue... And I can make a quick update on my end (no image, since I'm being lazy..) Orange - Shenmue II Red - Gran Turismo Sport Maroon - Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York Blue - Honkai: Star Rail - Star Rail: Volume 2 DLC Black - Honkai: Star Rail ??? -

Thanks! Ok, but it's still helpful when we don't really know where to put a game without having to constantly asking here for other's opinions. Yeah, and to add to this. I think a lot of it comes down to your rainbow and what makes sense too. Like, Sea of Stars is listed as both blue and light blue on the sheet, but that was likely in comparison to what their other blue game was. Furthermore, Lake is listed as blue, light blue, green, and light green. All dependent on what their other games look like on their rainbow.

ProfSeajay7
I have a bad situation. My flash drive with all my platinum trophy data got CORRUPTED. I was only able to save three floors and they were all folders of my last account. I have a backup flash drive... but the stuff on it stopped updating in 2019. I am lucky I posted a copy of my card to my blog, so I can just download it and save it on my hard drive, but that really hurts. I think I have to buy a fresh flash drive and back up everything, because if it was a computer virus that corrupted my flash drive, the flashdrive I copied the folders to might now be infected and end up corrupted as well. *sigh* Anyways, I just wanted to give this report just in case you were wondering what was going on.
