Popular Post ExHaseo
First game completed, Undertale. I've heard a lot of hype about this, so before my PS+ expires I wanted to play it. It's got some clever game design that plays with your expectations, and is a good game overall, but I'm not entirely sure why people are so obsessed with it. Maybe I'm just too old now. I'm just not really into this form of cringe sort of anime style humor that you see everywhere in this game anymore. Not sure what I'll do next yet. I only have 1 more week until my PS+ expires, so I want to make the most of it before jumping into bought games and trophy cleanups. Probably just going to work on getting as much of Anthem done as possible, since you apparently need PS+ to play it.

Popular Post woggly4
Starting this year's challenge with "Bud Spencer & Terence Hill: Slaps and Beans 2" for Light Green. This game is a love letter to every fan of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill movies. I backed this game on Kickstarter the other day and it fortunately received enough money to feature voice over. I grew up with the movies and still watch them occasionally. For those who don't know the duo is an all-time classic in Germany and one of the few cases where the dubbed german version is more popular than the original as they added a ton of more jokes, proverbs and foolery. The original german voice actors sadly already died but they found a good substitute, it's of course a different feeling but okay. But the game kept the jokes wherever possible and fitting. Story-wise they mixed the stories of multiple movies, so overall it's a different story but you will notice where they got the ideas from. Sometimes voice lines are said by/to different characters as opposed to the movies etc but it's clearly a story in the universe of Bud and Terence. Some characters are also quite noticeable, even though they aren't unique if they're enemies and will appear from time to time. Most of the time the antagonists of the movies are named characters, especially the dude that always loses his teeth is part of it, couldn't stop laughing when I first saw him spitting out a few white pixels. 😅 Music-wise they were influenced by the movies too and also used the original tracks. In between the story there are minigames, also influenced by the movies, for example the big eating contest at the antagonist's mansion, the pelota match or the well-known chorus. So, if you're a fan of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill you need to play this game, it's full of nostalgia! Gameplay-wise it's a normal beat 'em up. If it weren't for the story and nostalgia I would've been bored pretty quick. So if you don't know Bud Spencer and/or Terence Hill and especially the movies of the duo, you should look up some gameplay before you play. But I doubt that it will be something special to you if you don't know the movies. Edited January 16 by woggly4
Popular Post Duke_Ryle
Completed Life is Strange for my 3rd game and my tan color. I sometimes felt like I was the only person on this site that hadn't played it. It was on my backlog for years and I'm glad I finally got to experience it. It's a great game. It's too bad it took me this long to get around to it. I'll be looking forward to playing more of this series, hopefully sometime this year.
Popular Post Sylvanticore
Yeah I'll jump into this one again, last year wasn't very good for me so I ended up just not playing anything on console for a while but this year I'll keep it up! Popular Post DizzyDavidson
Second Entry: Nobody Saves The World (PS4) for White! Truth be told I was excited to play it but once I did it didn't totally click with me in the beginning, but by the end it was pretty cool (definitely has an interesting leveling system). I think NG+ is a bit redundant, the game might throw more things at you which you have to counter with your abilities but I only changed about 10 of them in and out from the dozens and dozens available (and only used one character unless I needed to get into a tiny place) and can be rushed/finished in a few hours. Question: Would this work for Yellow or some other color? I'm going to finish it soon and was wondering, but seems all over the place for me. If not that's cool, it's still early in the year.

Personally, I think Yellow is the dominant color, but I think you could argue light blue, but I think that's a bit of a stretch. I agree with your gut feeling. And, on colors, your gut feelings are usually the right feelings, imo.

Popular Post damcrac5
Got my second game completed! MLB The Show 23. As a long time Rangers fan, I knew I had to get around to getting the platinum. I'm always surprised at how much I enjoy playing The Show games, and the last three years have been fairly easy platinums. This year had the most Diamon Dynasty mode in it, but it could all be done single player without spending cash so it was a quick and easy 23 hours to get the plat. Onto Star Wars Jedi: Survivor! Future plans? FF Pixel Remasters 4-6, Plague Tale Requiem, Crisis Core: FF Reunion, Ragnarok DLC, FF16 DLC, RE4, Forbidden West? I've got a ton to choose from. Popular Post Treilio
Finally managed to complete something: Peggle and Heavy Weapon. Might replace Heavy Weapon at some point, if I get a better yellow. Both are classic PopCap games, Peggle probably the more known one. If you have never played Peggle, then I would say it's kinda like those brick breaker games, where you have a board at the bottom of the screen, and you try to bounce your ball from it and breake the bricks above. The difference with Peggle is, you shoot from the top of the screen and you don't have a board at the bottom that you can control. Instead there is a bucket at the bottom that moves on it's own, and if your ball lands inside the bucket, you get your ball back. You start with 10 balls and extra balls are also awarded if you get a big score on your shot. You can play as different characters that all have different powers, like being able to spawn a new ball from the top of the screen after your 1st ball has landed, or just letting the AI make your shot. The goal of the game is to clear all orange bricks and pegs on the level, but if you actually want to get all the trophies in the game, you have to clear all blue ones too. This is more difficult than it sounds, because your ball can accidentally bounce to an orange brick and end the level early, or you can of course just run out of balls before you have cleared everything. The challenge modes are no joke either. Heavy Weapon is a pretty traditional side scrolling shooter. You have a pretty short 19 mission campaign, where after the end of every mission, you can upgrade your tank with different weapons, like a heat seeking rocket or a laser (upgrades have 3 tiers). A boss rush where you have to defeat 19 bosses from the campgain without dying, the upgrades you get here are random. And an endless survival mode, where there are trophies for surviving for 8 and 12 minutes. You can play the survival mode online with 4 players, to make the trophies easier. Overall much easier than Peggle to complete. Both games have been removed from sale from the PS3 PlayStation Store, but you can still get both of these if you buy a Plants vs. Zombies disc, it includes both of them and both of them are on the disc, no codes required. I think I payed a little over 50 € for the disc, but the games are fun enough and I really wanted Peggle to my trophy collection lol.
Popular Post ProfSeajay7
Well, the good news is that my color card was rescued by my dad, who managed to recover 90% of the files on that corrupted flash drive. The only exception was a folder called "TataruTrophies", which somehow got corrupted. I don't know how that happened, but I assume it was a file I can cut-pasted from the Internet which was infected with a virus. I swiftly dumped it in the recycle bin and eradicated it as I didn't care about the files in there, as they were from an old account I am pretty much retiring soon with the deletion of my old FFXIV Square-Enix accounts and the characters within. So here's my next update! Red: Crime Secrets: Crimson Lily (PS5 version) Pink: Eventide 2: Sorcerer's Mirror Light Blue: Ape Escape (PS4 version) Finally another primary color enters the list! I was planning to prep both Ape Escape versions but decided that I only needed one so I just popped the plat on the PS4 version so I could free it up for other things, though technically I should stop playing PS5 versions as my PS5's memory might go boom and I might lose everything. Still, I'm safer for now. I also might remove Donut County and Rift Apart as I am thinking of doing three cards and those can go on my second card as those games won't be popped until summer, due to the restrictions of my Platinum Rain challenge. I'll fix the card when I get my next update, which is very soon. I plan on doing four games a month for four months to give time for other games.
Popular Post Panasbananas
First game and plat for 2024 and it's Like a Dragon Gaiden which I'll be using for white! Played this in preperation for the upcoming Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth which I'm very excited for. Since I actually haven't played any of the other mainline yakuza games I don't know Kiryu's story at all (don't judge me pls, I'm very late to the franchise 😰) but I was still very into this! My only complaint would be the two trophies attached to the hostess events. Hated that part of the game, almost made me not want to plat this... at least they could have made the cutscenes skippable. But other than that it's short and fun!
Popular Post woggly4
Second game done: "Chants of Sennaar" for Yellow. What a great puzzle game! I really loved playing this. After The Witness it's the second game I played because it was featured on Cracking The Cryptic and I'm glad I played it! It's a beautiful logic/deduction game about different "languages". In each stage your character has to decipher a foreign language to progress, in each stage you need to understand a new language, however it's also part of the game to translate between the languages and to also understand the differences between their grammar. This sounds harder than it is, in fact it's a lot of fun if you're into deduction puzzle solving. I'd highly recommend to play it without a guide as the "aaaah"-moments are very satisfying. At first it seems daunting but the puzzles are absolutely doable because the game has a good way of telling you nothing but guiding you to the solution at the same time. For me, the last language was kind of too easy because it was just trial and error on some wheel-thingies (you will understand what I mean if you play it 😅) and the aspect of noting your guesses what a word/glyph could mean was scrapped more or less completely here and I was kind of disappointed when it ended. But without spoilering too much, I was satisfied with how it really ended. I played without a guide but had to look up how to progress once because I was stuck and couldn't find what to do next, even though my intended solution was the solution of a later puzzle. It felt weird how one was supposed to find that way when the prior solutions always felt "natural". Even though the game tells you basically nothing what to do, there was always a "guiding hand" in the puzzle itself but at that one point I was totally lost. Had a blast playing it though and can only recommend it to everyone who is into somewhat challenging but satisfying puzzle games.
Popular Post DizzyDavidson
Very well then, I will use LEGO 2K Drive as my Yellow! (Thank you for the feedback) If I can't get to a second card I'll see if I can do better but for now I'll stick with it. I thought the game was a fun kart racer with a story in a LEGO world but there were a couple of annoying things when it comes to trophies. First the collectibles, wow there were a ton. Second, driving for 6k miles (9.8k km), I finished pretty much everything in the game only amassing 3k km, the rest I had to grind out afk driving in circles using a rubber band, a nickel and a folded up piece of paper. There's also a vehicle creator but I didn't use it because the game gives you plenty of them and you can also buy more. Next up: Evil West, planning to finish it before next month's PS+ games so expect another update from me in the coming weeks.
Popular Post Pray_4_the_End
First update of the year with a couple of plats to start off! (I threw "Stay Out of the House" in brown because The Butcher's shirt and burlap face sack are brown/tan. I can throw it into black if need be; the border is pretty dark.) Thoughts? Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon (PS4) - I was holding back completing this series for about a year and a half due to wanting to pop this plat as my first of 2024 because it's perfect. "Party Like it's 2024" It feels good to finally wrap up the trilogy. Spryo 2 is still probably my favorite of the bunch but I had a good time with 3. I hope I'm still alive to see a proper Spyro reboot or sequel if and when it ever happens. Stay Out of the House (PS5) - Another Puppet Combo game down on my quest to play all of these guy's titles. These low-poly grindhouse style slasher games they put out are such a vibe, and I thoroughly enjoy making my way through them while seeing how many different ways I can get murdered. I might end up double dipping this game around Halloween time for the PS4 plat as well.
Popular Post Fanatixa1
Hi everyone, Here's my first update. I've completed two games. Locoroco Midnight Carnaval for Maroon. I have to say I really didn't like this game. I had a hard time getting a hold on the controls and it took me forever to finish. I also completed House Flipper with all the dlc packs for Blue, Luxury Flipper for Purple, House Flipper Pets for Orange and Farm Flipper for Red. I enjoyed this game mostly while listening to a podcast. It did take me a lot longer then expected, so happy I completed it.
Popular Post DrBloodmoney
Two More Entries Down! Box: Pink Game: "Jusant" An oddball, zen, narrative Climbing Sim, that feels like a direct crossover of Journey and Grow Home. The game has a lot of interesting world building, as the player character climbs a strange, impossible column that has clearly once been a thriving civilisation, long since abandoned due to drought and famine, and there is a lot of good interest built up... ...but the story peters out a little, as it never really sticks the landing correctly, and unfortunately, the game mechanics, while cool at first, quickly show their limitations, and don't works as well with the more linear climbing paths Jusant has, as opposed to something more freeform like Grow Home. Looks very nice though, and does have some great ambient sound and some evocative design. A little towards the purple end of Pink, but given my next entry is much more "purple-y" I'm happy with this one in for pink... ...especially since I'm not the first to use it in that square this year, with @jh7459 beating me to the punch! Box: Purple Game: "Tinykin" A game that feels like a throwback to a simpler time, with mechanics similar to some of the more basic 3D platforming collect-a-thons of the PS2 era, mixed with some cool Pikmin-style gameplay, some excellent "Honey I shrunk the Kids" type settings, and a great, fun soundtrack! This is a really good one - not super challenging or long, but very inventive and fun to play, and with silly, simple, but very satisfying gameplay... that even makes a non-3D platforming fan like me enjoy it! Feels like a solid purple, so that's where it goes! Edited January 14 by DrBloodmoney
Popular Post woggly4
Next game done: "Toem" for Grey. Cute little game where you are on a journey up a mountain to see the Aurora, named "Toem" here, and taking photos of the environment, animals and people around you. It reminded me of "A Short Hike" even though the gameplay is different but there are similarities in the story or better goal of the game, and it's equally relaxing. The camera mechanic in Toem is interesting and fun but I liked the colorfulness of "A Short Hike" more. In each chapter or area you will get quests which you need to finish before you can progress. You don't need to finish all for progressing though but for Platinum. The quests itself are rather easy and if you like to explore the areas you won't find it too difficult to complete most of them. I played without a guide until I saw everything and wrapped up the rest of the animals and more hidden collectibles but already had most of the stuff collected after my first playthrough. Nothing is missable and you can always go back to chapters as you wish. There's also a DLC which adds an additional chapter but it fits perfectly into the game, I didn't even notice it was a DLC until I finished it and checked my trophy progress. Overall I liked playing Toem, very enjoyable and what's more, relaxing experience.
Popular Post Sylvanticore
Greetings all! I have a second game completed now and it is Choo Choo Charles! I loved the game during the PC release and wanted to double dip since the dev is a okay guy, got to say with controller it felt a little annoying at times but I got it done. I've placed it in White for the moment, the white title, Charles' face and the moon like behind him and while it is the PS4 image I'm using, it was the PS5 version I completed, the PS5 image just squishes up and makes it look terrible.
