Popular Post BlindMango
Turn the video to 1080p fullscreen to actually see what's going on! Okay everyone, so I updated DriveClub just now to see the new rain and weather effects from the latest patch, and I was left completely speechless as to what I saw. This was the first racing/driving game that I have ever played where the rain effects are believable and simply stunning. Here's what I saw: In cockpit view, the rain reacts with actual physics on the windshield, so it appears as though every droplet is individual and they individually move according to how the car is driving. When making a left turn or drift on the track, water moves from the left side of the windshield towards the center before the blades move it back. When your car is stopped, rain will hit the windshield and flow downward. When you go into photo mode and pan the camera around, you will notice that there are hundreds of individual water droplets "paused" (photo mode) in the air. Windshield wipers make short watery streaks when passing over your windshield. Water moves down the body of the car, though I think that is more of a static movement and not entirely physics based like the windshield. The water in lakes turn from calm waves to very extreme/choppy waves when rain is turned on. Flags violently fly around, trees react, water on the track, etc... Incredible lightning effects every now and then that brighten the entire sky. I was simply like "wow" every few seconds, this is an incredible addition. It looks like they are going to add an update/DLC soon called Elements which will add tracks with weather to the tour/career mode. At the moment, you can only play tracks with rain on the race selector (and maybe in multiplayer, I haven't tried that). I'm someone who bought the actual game and it's been quite amazing to see how far this game has gone from it's really messy launch, I can't wait until people get their hands on the PlayStation Plus edition to see the game in action. broy300
For all the negativity games get for what they do wrong, I appreciate someone who notices what they do amazingly. Yeah Driveclub had a iffy launch, but wow it really looks amazing. Hopefully you continue to enjoy the game and keep us updated to any new things you see.

Considering if this game was on high-end pc, someone would be playing this 1440p 120fps by now. It's still awesome tho.
damon8r351
The rain effects are pretty, but that crash mechanics aren't so much after seeing him rear-end that car at around 3:07 and kept on going like it ain't no thang.

But not many, due to the price of keeping you pc high end for ultra settings. But yeah this looks pretty good - although retail version does seem to be the way to go
Satoshi Ookami
Brilliant. Now fix the online please, so I can enjoy this gem fully all the way to Plat.

I'll still would wait tho until the final updates are done.

Because as awesome as this might be... it's not actually really important. Look, you can make the game look as good as you want, it's all useless if just one of the actual core elements of the game doesn't work properly. Lovejinder_LJ
To the guys complaining about the online of the game, after a year of shitty launches, it's stupid now to complain about online not working. Hell, there are games which find it difficult to make their offline work (I am looking at you Unity, probably the year's biggest disappointment) Now when I here the online is not working for a game, it doesn't surprise me at all. Just be happy that at least the offline/single player works fine.

Since online trophies are present, obviously crappy online is a major fail.

Yeah, I have to agree on that though as I always say, online trophies are unnecessary, especially in bad games
