Why I quit this platinum

Recommended Posts

I've only got one more trophy to get for the Platinum now... "Finished the job" - just need to wait for a friend to be available for co-op.

It's been a grind, I'll grant you that. I'm not sure where exactly it happened, but there was a tipping point between "it's fun getting these collectibles" and "holy shit, how many more of these fecking things are there?"

But over all, I've quite enjoyed it. Haven't bothered with any of the DLC yet, though.

The only reason I won't be able to get the platinum for this game is because of that stupid trophy where you kill 7 enemies with a mine! Ugh! lol it's literally impossible for me. Everything else I don't mind doing. I'm use to collectibles and stuff like that. :/ But damn that A Better Mousetrap trophy will be the death of me.

That trophy was so easy to get. Just watch a few youtube clips.

I am not going to get the platinum because of the stupid the whole story trophy. It is the last trophy I need to get, I have every single file in every area and this stupid trophy has still not popped.

I got the Platinum. I spent a week trying to unlock 3 glitched trophies before discovering that starting a new Campaign with new character got that done in 20 minutes.

Resource trucks:
If there is a helicopter, deal with that and treat that as one objective, on its own.

Now treat truck and 2 escorts as the 2nd objective. Re-position yourself if you have to,
Getting at the end of a straight road with your Sniper rifle is absolutely ideal.
Take out the driver of the lead car. If your rifle is powerful enough, shoot the grill and take out the car instead. I have Desert Storm HTI with 15 damage. It seems powerful enough to take down a building but I'm sure something less will still get the job done.

Shoot the driver of the truck. It veers off the road, stops nice and safe for you to walk up and tag, after you destroy the escort that follows. All safely from a distance of what should be 100-200 meters still, at this point.

And if you haven't learnt the trick yet, Here it is: Do this from the safety of Arcade Mode Difficulty.
Just before tagging the truck, flip to Tier 1. Tag and get all those bonuses.

It sucks people are having all these problems with the trophies and encountering bugs, last time I played was when they released the first DLC Pack, and before that I had never encountered any glitched trophies, even the trophy I thought was glitched was just a VERY Hidden collectible that said it was marked.

I am going to get the platinum on my other account when I have the time, the single player is awesome, and I used to coop with "friends" and with my brother, its honestly not as bad as people make it seem, if you didn't like something, it just probably wasn't for you.

The map is too big.
98% of the time you spend looking for collectibles.
When you ask for a vehicle, the game puts it away when there are large enough places near you.
And if you get bored using the helicopter to go faster you will plant the map of anti-aircraft missiles so you can dodge it with the plane, super fun.

I can't even begin to wrap my head about the complaint that you have to uncover question marks to find collectibles... God forbid you have to actually, y'know, explore the marked areas all over the map.  There is not a single collectible in this game that is not in one of those areas, not one!  I don't understand how that is some harrowing task and OP feels they shouldn't have to do it?  You literally want every collectible handed to you upon loading in or what?  They are literally handed out already - it's just a matter of going to the question marks and picking them up... I mean really what is the difference?  Marked or not - you know they're like 80% gonna be there, except the few locations in the game with nothing at them... and if you're getting shot down by Unidad that much, fly lower.  The anti-air can't lock on when you're low enough, and there's no reason in the world whatsoever for their ground units to be taking you out unless you're playing on too high of a difficulty.

I pray you never pay the original Assassin's Creed because you will gouge your eyes out trying to find the unmarked flags.

I'm the type of player who's platinumed ever AC game, and any I could do twice I did.  To me big maps and collectibles just isn't bad, there's far worse trophies out there.  I also had fun through and through.  I love big map games, in fact I love games that keep me playing longer in general, because tend to be the ones where I subconsciously get the plat, rather than race for the trophies.

Realistically if you make use of calling a rebel chopper, you can get all the collectibles in a single area in about 30-40 minutes.  Granted that's about 8+ hours of collectible hunting, but if you do it all in a progression as you play the game, it's not so bad.  I find alot of people face these issues when they rush through the story first - and then all they're left with after is collectibles and miscellaneous, that is just setting yourself up for collecting burnout.  (Just by a quick gander of OPs list for the game, that's exactly what they did - they set themselves up for a long and tedious grind.)

My opinion is with a game like this it is better to move in a "one area at a time" progression.  Do all the available activities in one area then move to the next area.  If you make sure your gameplay is more diversified, you won't get nearly as burned out.

I started the game October 17th, and finished on the 22nd.  5 days on a game really isn't the end of the world... 35-40 hours max.  It's only daunting if you make it that way.  You don't have to put a "shittonne of hours in", as OP so worded it.  This is literally standard time for all Ubisoft games.

Probably the only thing about this game I didn't like was the clunky driving controls, which really has never been a strong point of Ubisoft... (it's even worse in the Narco Road DLC which I'm currently working on - and actually mandates stunt driving and stuff :( )

(Also note, this is not my real PSN account - I have 133 plats in reality.)

I'm with the OP on this one. Just need the max skills trophy for platinum, and it will get it eventually, but this one is pretty exhausting. Not so much the collectibles, as those don't need a guide and are pretty fun to get...but the resource farming is so off-putting. I think the main reason is, is that after you complete all the missions you are only about 60 percent done with max skills...leading you just fly around the map or fast travel which requires loading, for a measly 2,500 to 5,000 resource points. This was balanced pretty poorly.

Ok, so there are many reasons why I quit the platinum for this game, but I'm only going to say the main ones. I don't think this is a bad game, I like it and the story was fun. However, this is how I feel about the platinum for this game. I like that there's a lot of content in the game but platinum wise. It's not worth it.

1. There's way too many collectibles. I get it, it's a Ubi game. I've done theme before. But have you seen how many there are? There's too fucking many! I get that you don't need all of them or the weapon accessory ones, but good GOD. You need at least 90% of the skill points, a shit ton of grinding in side missions and having to fly over question marks on the map to reveal kingslayer files is bullshit. I'm sorry but I should NOT have to do that. Especially when the fucking Unidad keep shooting down my Chopper. "Why don't you use a rebel skill to call in a new one?" because you have to upgrade your skills to that and sadly I don't have enough because side missions are a bitch. Which brings me to number 2.

2. The side missions. OK, I can deal with a few of these. But the ones where I have to go and chase down a convoy while it's guarded by 2 Santa Blanca cars with mini-guns + a Heli, is a nightmare. And I have to do so many of them to unlock more skills? And on top of that a lot of them start to get boring.

3. The glitches and controls. I don't know why but I can't unlock the 2nd mission to Ricky Sandoval. Game crashed like 3 times. Also, I swear to god that enemies spawn behind me PURPOSELY.  Oh, I also know this isn't a glitch but I'm saying it anyways. Picking shit up in this game is a bitch. I'm trying to pick up ammo and I end up going around the stupid thing. Gets me killed. Same goes for documents and legends. Whoever thought it was a good idea to have the same button for going in passenger seat and driving seat must have never played themselves. I can't tell you how many times I go in the back seat when I meant to drive. By the the time I get to the driver seat  I'm either DEAD or THE TARGET ESCAPED. Fuck.

Other than that, this is a fun game. I liked it but the platinum can suck a fat one. This is one of those game where you have to put a shit ton of hours into and have a lot of patience for. I can honestly say that Black Ops 3 and this game fit into the same category. I platinum games like GTA 5 which is over 120 hours, Star Wars BF which requires you to get to level 50 and Kill Zone SF which requires a LOT of kills. But those games had different modes for you to enjoy. This game doesn't have PVP (or not yet from what I heard) but I still don't think even if it did, I probably won't do it anyways.

One question: Why did you bought this game when you couldn't platinum Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands lol?

My two cent on this... just play it coop. I would never get through this game alone.

I have a friend who also bought wildlands in a sale and from time to time we always play a little. Normally one region (Story + collectibles) at a time. I'm sure we will get through it after some more time.

But playing alone, I have to admit it is a pretty rough game to get through

I know this is an old post, but once you get to level 30, just turn the difficulty down to recruit, and it makes the game a joke for all the side missions. If you want to do the tier one mode it will make you go to extreme difficulty with is a pain in the ass. But to get around that, right before you complete a mission activate it, and you will get the rewards. The only really dumb thing about this game is the c4 kills, the mine kills and kingslayer/legends. Everything else is cake for it.

Also, with the new tier one mode, assuming you can still get decent exp, it makes it easier to get resources. I have about 85-90% of the skills and i havent finished the game yet.

If you want to platinum this game do not play it online! I was playing this game with some friends (full story mode) we collect all the weapon cases and at the end of the main story we didn't unlock the collectables! (this game sucks! and looks like I have to re-play the full game just to unlock them all)

similar thing happened to me in the Division. Collecting collectibles in another persons world do not count.

Thank you for telling me that! thats my next game on my list to platinum.

This game sucks!! I played the full game again and I collected all the guns and accessories, kill every single sub boss and boss and at the end of the game I didn't unlock the trophies for all the weapons? this means the only way to do it is buying the from the store with real money?

Im wondering if the new update is making this kind of glitch

Well that fucking sucks. Try to call Ubisoft or check the leaderbords of the last achievers and see if one of them can give you tips.

Now I'm really glad I quit this platinum. Good riddance

Platted this game about a month ago and didn't have any issues with any of the trophies. I've been playing with my pal at the beginning, we reached something around 50% completion. Then he started playing something else and I was so sucked in, I couldn't stop so I finished the game and cleared all of the collectibles on my own. Everything popped exactly when it was supposed to.

I cant give up! I will try it for the 3rd time!... some people told me that I couldn't unlock the trophies because I bought some of the weapons at the store (this can be the problem because when I was playing it for the second time I was near to some weapon cases they disappear from the map) I was able to see the weapon case but I didn't have the option to take the weapon.

What im going to do is:

  • Erase the data.
  • Erase the game + install the game.
  • Play off-line (without internet) the story mode; if im online Ubisoft its going to give me all the weapons I bought.

I just cant give up.. im missing just 4 stupid trophies.
