You
Seems a bit odd to releasing a DX (Deluxe?) version of a game that was already available on PS4. Not to mention that the original PS4, PS3 and Vita releases, the PS4 version had 60fps and very high res gfx, so surely it was already the deluxe version as it was the best of the three. Old list and new list are identical so it's going to be interesting to know what is actual DX in this release... https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/2492-samurai-warriors-4/ https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/8860-戦国無双4-dx Is this the first time a game has been re-mastered on the same system? [edit] Ok, so quite literally the exact same game, just a rerelease but this time with all ( 150WTF?! ) DLC included in the package. https://www.destructoid.com/samurai-warriors-4-dx-is-heading-to-ps4-and-switch-next-march-533566.phtml The only other time I remember two trophy lists on the same region was with Yakuza 3 https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/640-yakuza-3/ https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/705-龍が如く3-playstation3-the-best/ which was annoying because I borrowed the game off a friend then decided to mop up the trophies so I went out and bought the game and DOH, it was a whole new trophy list. :/ Edited March 14, 2019 by enaysoft
Elvick_
What makes you say it's a "remaster" at all? Just because it's a "Deluxe" release doesn't mean it's a remaster. It probably has DLC or new content in it.
MisterGibraltar
At first I thought it's SW4 + 4-II. Seems not like it from the trophy list. If anything I wanna add to SW4 would be more cutscenes mid-stage. SW4 story stages were pretty dry, just rush from dot to dot compare to DW8 or Orochi 4. Crispy_Oglop
I'm not sure if this is a remaster, I could be wrong though - but I couldn't see anything online about it being something they've improved and updated technically and graphically. It looks like it's the usual re-release 'GOTY' edition type thing where games are put out again but with all of the DLC rolled in.
Ekir
This is something Tecmo Koei does all the time, new versions of their games... in this case is a 'GOTY' version of the previous. 8 hours ago, enaysoft said: Is this the first time a game has been re-mastered on the same system? I'm quite sure it has been done since the 8 bit era or even before! nothing new but a few tweaks here and there (not appliable to this dx version as I've said, is more a full pack version)
DEI2EK
Yeah this is just a re-release with all the DLC bundled. I feel like KT America will just release it digitally here but I'd love to be wrong.
mecharobot
The game got ported to Switch, which I think is the main reason for this "DX" version. Another trophy list seems pretty redundant, but not like it's going to hurt anyone.
BlackSabre500
Based on what I heard this was made to celebrate an anniversary and to sell another treasure box in Japan.

You
Well it has been over a year since I first posted this and the game was on sale Japanese PSN store sale so I bought it. I only own the Vita version of SW4 so it was quite a good excuse to finally have it on PS4. I can't say the inclusion of all the DLC is something particularly great though. I suppose the 4 extra horses are a good substitute until you get Matsukaze saddle. The extra costumes, well they seem mostly for the women in the game and most look kind of stupid, like not even proper Japanese clothing and some are just downright ridiculous. Like nurse, maid and casino dealer outfits. It's nice to have Maeda Keiji costume from Samurai Warriors 1, my favourite costume in the whole series. I have that costume for Musou Orochi and already on the other Samurai Warrior games. The new 8 gaiden scenario, well I guess they're decent. Would have been nice to have them in the base game but since they do nothing for trophies, I guess their value is questionable. Considering there are 150 pieces of DLC including in this pack, it honestly doesn't feel worth it and they certainly aren't worth the money. I suppose one good thing to point out is the fact that 98% of the cut scenes are ingame renders so at least when you make a character have their special costumes, they at least appear in almost all the cut scenes wearing them. I also like the way this game is 60fps almost all of the time, that is a big plus point over Vita. However it does drop down to 30fps in times of heavy combat, in all cut scenes and 2 player split screen is locked to max 30fps at all times, which is a shame since Musou Orochi Z, Samurai Warriors 3 Z and Samurai Warriors 3 Empires on PS3 are locked at constant 60fps even on split screen coop... I guess, unless you want a trophy stack or don't have the game on PS4 yet I don't think I could recommend this over the original PS4 Samurai Warriors 4. You
A quick update, this version of the game is slightly bugged, in that the extra Gaiden levels count towards the mission percentage, 8 new stages you need to complete. So in order to get 100% you need to do all the DLC stages as well, without them Mission Objects only go up to 88% Weirdly you don't need to play as every character on every stage on the DLC levels, just do the missions (the trophy actually says it too that you don't need any "gaiden") Edited January 8, 2021 by enaysoft
