Popular Post Copanele
Hi there everyone! After hitting the 60 plats milestone (something I never though I will do ) I decided to also create a Trophy checklist to keep track with all the stuff I have unlocked and enjoyed (or not). The games I have played are pretty common, nothing out of the ordinary, although in my case I only play the games that I know I will enjoy . There is only one significant exception to this rule ,a certain game that really gave me nightmares which will be mentioned below. I will list on the first topic all the games first, eventually I will add a small review /impression to all of them. This ,as usual ,will be updated in time because it will take quite a while. I will mention the games that I have earned both on PS3 and PS4 Without further ado , here's my list: LIST OF PLATINUMS Spoiler Dark Souls 2 (PS3) Dark Souls 3 Bloodborne Dark Souls(PS3) Demon's Souls (PS3 - EU version)--side note : Yes I am a Soulsborne fan. Can't help it, these games are good God of War 1 God of War 2 God of War : Ghost of Sparta God of War : Chains of Olympus God of War 3 (PS3) God of War Ascension-side note : Did all the god of war games in anticipation for 2018 release. It also is the first time I actually considered platinuming playstation games NieR Nioh + 100% DLC NieR : Automata Hellblade : Senua's Sacrifice Salt and Sanctuary For Honor Dark Souls 2 : Scholars of the First Sin(PS4) God of War (2018) Dark Souls Remastered (PS4) My Name is Mayo ( my only trash game with an interesting backstory, review soon to explain) Devil May Cry 4 JoJo's Bizarre Adventure : All Star Battle Devil May Cry (PS4) Devil May Cry 3 (PS4) Devil May Cry 2 (PS4 - my exception to the rule, the worst game I have ever finished. It will forever give me nightmares) DmC Devil May Cry : Definitive Edition(PS4)--side note : Did all the DMC games in anticipation of DMC5. What can I say....I love platinuming collections. Horizon Zero Dawn Batman : Arkham Asylum (PS4) The Bard's Tale Assassin's Creed Rogue (PS3)--side note regarding entry 32 : Before starting an Assassin's Creed binge, I went to a trip to Rome. After visiting that city I knew I had to platinum one of the "collectible"est series Ubisoft ever made ON PS4 because boy oh boy here we go !!! Assassin's Creed 2 Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Assassin's Creed Revelations Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered Assassin's Creed Unity Prince of Persia Sands of Time Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands Prince of Persia Warrior Within Prince of Persia The Two Thrones Prince of Persia (2008 reboot) Burly Men at Sea Goat Simulator (PS3 - ummm...yeah I enjoyed this game as weird as it may sound) Cat Quest Assassin's Creed Chronicles : Trilogy Pack Devil May Cry 5 The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt - No.1 Best Game I have ever played Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered Asura's Wrath Assassin's Creed Liberation Remastered Sekiro Shadows Die Twice Access Denied(PS4) JoJo's Bizarre Adventure : Eyes of Heaven (PS4) Mortal Kombat 11 Samurai Shodown Assassin's Creed Syndicate Old Man's Journey Seasons After Fall Apotheon Injustice 2 Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag PS3 Dante's Inferno Demon's Souls (NA Version) Call of Juarez Bound in Blood Deadpool PS3 Devil May Cry PS3 Jotun Devil May Cry 3 PS3 Mortal Kombat XL DLC J-Stars Victory VS+ LA Noire + 100% DLC PS3 Devil May Cry 2 PS3 Bayonetta PS3 Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- DmC Devil May Cry PS3 Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Far Cry 3 PS3 The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim PS3 The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim PS4 Far Cry 4 + 100% DLC PS3 Assassin's Creed Origins Tekken 7 Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen PS4 Dragon's Dogma PS3 Brutal Legend One Piece Pirate Warriors 2 Alice Madness Returns Cat Quest II Fist of the North Star Lost Paradise Lords of the Fallen Mini Ninjas The Last of Us Remastered Death's Gambit Blur Dragon Ball FighterZ Berserk and the Band of the Hawk Mortal Kombat 9 Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late [st] Street Fighter V Titan Quest + 95% completed Assassin's Creed Odyssey Batman: Arkham Asylum Crash Bandicoot Batman Arkham City Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultra Street Fighter IV Blazblue Cross Tag Battle One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 Overwatch + 100% completion Far Cry Primal Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late PS3 Diablo III Reaper of Souls Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor PS3 Cuphead Assassin's Creed Valhalla Duke Nukem Forever Trine Enchanted Edition Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Bioshock Bioshock Infinite Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection Shadow of the Colossus The King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga The King of Fighters XIII Mount & Blade Warband Skullgirls 2nd Encore Batman Arkham Origins Art of Fighting Anthology Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Blazblue Chronophantasma Extend Blazblue Centralfiction Contraptions The King of Fighters XIV Yakuza 0 Slain Back from Hell Fighting EX Layer NieR Replicant Ver.1.22474487139... I will do my best to add a review/ impression over every single platinum / 100% as soon as I have some free time on my hand. I mostly play anything that I find interesting without caring that much about profile 100%. However I tend to steer clear from horror games ( I am a scaredy cat, can't handle jumpscares too well) , Sports games ( don't like them) or jRPG's (not a terrible fan of the japanese turn based stuff , I am more of a Disciples / Heroes 3 person - PC stuff). Apart from that , anything goes. You might notice that there are 2 grades I give for each game : Difficulty and Personal Impression. Difficulty is basically how tough I consider it is to get the platinum, pretty easy stuff. However Personal Impression is a grade given by an arithmetic mean between these subjects : Graphics, Sound, Gameplay, Storyline, Multiplayer and Fun factor. Of course if a game doesn't have multiplayer I won't add that grade into the calculation. Also I will try my best to analyse the games in regard to their year of release. Can't really tax God of War 1 because it doesn't look as crisp as God of War 2018 for example. Have a nice gaming day everyone and I hope you will enjoy reading my ramblings! PLATINUM OPINIONS AND IMPRESSIONS 1 - 10 Spoiler No.1 - Dark Souls II Platinum name : The Dark Soul Hardest trophy : Master of Sorceries - Hidden Weapon trophy obtained by reaching level 2 in bellkeepers covenant. A really annoying farming method. Difficulty : 4.5/10 Personal Impression : 7.8/10 This is my first platinum ever achieved. I am in love with the Soulsborne series, one of my most favourite series ever made. Dark souls 2, while not as praised as its predecessor is still a very solid game with good gameplay and intricate story. Again, you take the mantle of an undead (this time called Bearer of the Curse ) and try to solve the mystery behind the Dark Soul and the land of Drangleic. That means more monsters, more gruelling but satisfying combat and more bosses However not all is well. Since the game was not directly directed by Miyazaki, it suffered some changes. First and foremost all the i-frames and rolls depended on a stat Adaptibility. That really changed the mechanics of the game , not necesarily in a good way. Armor felt like paper and weapons had no oomph behind them. It always felt I was slapping the enemies with a wet salmon. Also the layout of the game ,that was very praised in Dark Souls 1, went to hell in Dark Souls 2 (the infamous elevator that climbs into a volcano in the sky...for some reason) Graphically however the game was wonderful , way better looking (Heide's Tower of Flame) but also not "looking " at all (the gutter and Black Gulch where you couldn't see anything) . Also the Powerstance mechanic where you dual wielded similar weapons was a very interesting feat and I am sad they did not use it in DS3 anymore. The cream of the crop , the bosses, the infamous hurdles in Soulsborne games must be the easiest and most pathetic bosses I have ever encountered. All of them are weak to lightning or blunt damage, they aren't too smart ( no Ornstein and Smough levels of epicness for you in this game), the only remotely good boss in the main game is the Darklurker and that is an optional boss. Quite dissapointed in them, really. Trophywise the game was pretty simple and straightforward. Some characters were abit obscure to reach ( Lucatiel of Mirrah for instance or summoning Bernhard of Jugo) but with the exception of the ever-annoying spells and pyromancies and hexes that are so stupid to farm, the rest of the trophies were pretty accessible. Although it feels that I complained abit, I really loved this game. I definetly enjoyed it over Bloodborne (THE NERVE I know) just because it's so diverse and ridiculous I couldn't help but chuckle from time to time. NOTE: I did not describe the DLC-s in this review, I will do so in Scholar of the First Sin platinum description. Those are different beasts altogether. THE GOOD: - a decent RPG game - progressive difficulty - lots of weapons and spells - diverse enemies - powerstancing is very fun THE BAD: - not as smooth as Dark Souls 1 - most bosses are mobs with a health bar - Adaptability stat - the story is shallow and uninteresting No.2 : Dark Souls III Platinum Name : The Dark Soul Hardest Trophy : Master of Rings Requires you to go to NG+2 for the +2 variant , these rings are a royal pain in the ass to collect Difficulty : 6/10 (with DLC, why wouldn't you play the DLC ??? ) , 2/10 if you decide to just summon and get carried through the game ( Inconceivable) Personal impression : 9.1/10 A fitting end to the series. That's the first thing that comes into my mind when it comes to Dark Souls 3. I still like to believe that Miyazaki did this game just to calm the raging sea of soulsborne fans, given by the sheer amount of fanservice in this game. Indeed this game is a full fanservice and a loveletter to DS1 and Demon Souls (DS2 not too much). From weapons to former bosses now mutated ( poor Gwyndolin) to entire areas that more or less solve some lore mysteries, Dark souls 3 is a blast to go through. Even the final boss is * wink wink nudge nudge you know who I mean* The story as usual makes no sense. The Ashen One (a sucker who tried to relight the First Flame but failed )is revived and send into another quest of discovery. Only this time apparently the linking of the Flame ain't working anymore and of course how to solve this issue ? More rolling, more attacking, more " YOU ARE DEAD" messages. Dark souls 3 has in my opinion the best combat out of all soulsborne series. All weapons work as intended, the stamina management is as tight as possible, Rapiers poke, Large Clubs hit like trucks, magic feels as magic should feel if it would be real. I can never get bored of the combat in these games. A small nitpicky thing, the game introduces the so called " Weapon Arts " which are either special dodges (for daggers) , buffs for catalysts or staves and special attacks for regular swords. With the exception of the buffable catalysts I found most of the weapon arts to be completely useless, especially since they rely on the mana bar. And now , the bosses. While not as good as Bloodborne bosses , Dark Souls 3 still has some of the most punishing and brutal bosses around there. With the exception of the Ancient Wyvern ( which is jmore of a Crash Bandicoot level than a boss) , each of the bosses really test your skill and reflexes. Everyone should have heard of the Nameless King, the most brutal boss in the main game, and how he destroyed everyone and everything in sight . I dare people to beat him at Soul Level 1, see how fun he is then The DLC is A MUST!!!! Screw the trophy list( the DLC has no trophies) , everything is on a whole different level. Ashes of Ariandel is not really that great to be honest , with a cheap end boss, HOWEVER the ringed city is the true ending of the dark souls saga, whoever plays and remotely enjoys this game SHOULD play the DLC. It's brutal, unforgiving, tear-jerking and a straight up 10/10. Some minor complaints would be that this game usually just resumes to "R1 -the videogame" . For most grunts just get a longsword +10, pump some points in STR and DEX and hack away. Also ... 3 stupid swamps. I am tired of Swamps miyazaki they weren't fun ever since you created that stupid 5-2 map in Demon's Souls. And in some places enemies just swarm and ambush you and you are forced to do laps around the map until you lose them and you can pick them up one by one. Trophywise... really annoying collectibles. Again magic and pyromancies, who stand out are the gestures , you really need a guide for those, since you have to most of the time summon some suckers that gesture at you . And of course... the Rings trophy. You have to play the game 3 times so you can get every single stupid ring around. In conclusion : Brilliant Game. Thoroughly recommending it, even if it might kick your ass. It's definitely an experience that shouldn't be missed THE GOOD: - a fitting end to the Dark Souls saga - polished combat - brutal bosses - lots of fan service ; including from Demon Souls and Bloodborne - DLC is a must - story finally ties in loose ends - multiplayer is actually working properly THE BAD: - not as interconnected as Dark Souls 1 - most of the weapons and spells are actually useless No.3 : Bloodborne Platinum name: Bloodborne Hardest trophy : Orphan of Kos (DLC Final Boss, one of the hardest Soulsborne bosses ever. Full 10/10 fight) Difficulty : 7/10 (because of the DLC and chalice dungeons), 3/10 if you get carried the whole game (not recommended, it ruins the experience) Personal impression : 9.6 / 10 Bloodborne might as well be the best PS4 exclusive ever made. It's the sole reason I bought the PS4 and did the switch from PC to console gaming. More details on that once I get to Dark Souls 1. This game again shows Miyazaki's genius. Unlike the dark souls series, now you are thrown in a Victorian setting crossed with Lovecraftian horror. You are a hunter who is tasked to find out what is the cause of the disease that afflicts the inhabitants of Yharnam. Of course, nothing is that simple. The game does a shift from Dark Souls. Although the Stamina bar, the upgrades and levelling system are there, the game is now faster and more brutal. You have no defensive options anymore in this game(no more Turtle builds like in Dark souls) , you have to rely on reflexes and offensive power in order to deal with the monstrosities that plague the world. Weapons ,while not as varied as in Dark Souls, have suffered a significant upgrade. They have 2 modes : normal version and trick version. The normal version is the regular 1 handed variant which allows you to also wield a pistol in your left hand (used for harassing and parries). The trick version is a 2handed transformation which dishes out more damage but disables the use of a ranged gun. For example the kirkhammer is a longsword in the normal version and transforms into a huge hammer in the trick version. The monsters are more aggressive than before. They are faster than ever and you need to really assess the situation before attacking since you can't block as before. The bosses are the best Soulsborne has ever offered. All of them are unique , brutal and require different strategies for them. Unlike in dark souls2 where most easy bosses were...just easy to beat, in bloodborne if a boss is easy to defeat it means it has a strong lore behind them(Celestial Emmisarry isn't supposed to be strong in the first place, it's not the developer's fault there) The game has a special dungeon system called Chalice Dungeons. They are mostly used for farming various gems(in-game upgrade system) and weapons. They can be also randomly-generated. They vary from level 1 ( easy , walk in the park dungeons) to level 5 ( around NG+3/NG+4 difficulty). Quite interesting , although I wished to see more variety. Loran dungeons are the best though, you should check those out. Special mention to the DLC, the Old Hunters . Same as in DS3, the DLC solves some of the lore's mysteries and has the best bosses in the game hands down. Ludwig, Laurence, Maria and especially Orphan of Kos are gonna test your limits, the DLC should not be approached unless you have mastered the game. Even co-op , the DLC is not easy! For those that want an extra extra challenge,I strongly recommend a BL4 run , it will really test you I promise! Not many things that I dislike about this game . I wished abit more variety in terms of weaponry and the multiplayer section sucks ass as usual ( I hate multiplayer in soulsborne series except maybe DS3). But apart from that, the game is a must. It's time for you to Git Gud THE GOOD: - might be the best PS4 exclusive out there - tight and brutal combat that will make you change the approach from Dark Souls - interesting grotesque Lovecraftian lore - trick weapons are a blast to use - DLC is a must THE BAD: - Chalice dungeons are somewhat lazy in execution No.4 : Dark Souls (PS3 version) (japanese cover art is 10 times better than the NA/EU one) Platinum Name : The Dark Soul (yes, that's how all the Dark Souls platinums are called) Hardest trophy : Knight's Honor : Acquire all rare weapons - NG++ runs , farming of rare weapons, stupid drop at certain rare weapons ( Channeler's Trident for instance) makes this trophy quite challenging Difficulty : 7/10 Solo play ,3/10 in co-op (still a 3/10 because of Bed of Chaos) Personal impression : 8.8 /10 This game is the reason I bought a PS3 and later a PS4. Originally I was a PC player ( still am occasionally but not as much lately). Then Dark Souls happen. 600 hours of "you died" later I discovered it had a predecessor , Demon's Souls. My first salary ever went on a brand new PS3 and a modest TV of course PS4 was next because of sweet sweet Bloodborne. What can I say , I am addicted to these games ( given that my first platinums ever are soulsborne games). This game is one of the best games I have ever played and in my OWN OPINION , really have to stress this out, one of the best games ever made. While demon's souls was the pioneer, dark souls kinda implemented the concept of " tough but fair" gameplay. The game is brutal for a newcomer, pulls no punches, no minimap, no pause button, no specific lore. You are just a fleshy jerky dude who escapes a prison and tries to understand what happens while everything wants a bite of his ass. There is no specific story to be served to the player. You have to recollect bits and pieces of information given by the half-zombified inhabitants of Lordran or by from various item descriptions. It's the first time I experienced this kind of storytelling and let me tell you I loved it. It felt like trying to learn about a real ancient civilization. No tomes left to tell you in detail what happened, you need to put your archaeologic hat on and start digging. Another mention is that Miyazaki used heavy inspiration from the manga Berserk , you will find lots of references in the game. The combat is as simple as it gets. You have weapons, shields ,magic spells and armour. Typical sword/spells RPG , but not quite actually. You have to manage your stamina (each action costs stamina) and really think in the thick of combat. One whiffed slash and the opponent can and will punish you. If you die, you have one chance to recover your "souls" (in game currency used for levelling up and buying/selling stuff). If you die on your way of recovering those you will lose the souls forever. Paired with the mechanic of Equipment load (more heavy armor means slower stamina regen and rolling like a bulldozer) makes for a solid gameplay. Bosses in these games are iconic. From the first actual boss Taurus Demon (asylum demon is a tutorial joke, won't count) to the infamous pair Ornstein and Smough to Gwyn Lord of Cinder, all the bosses follow the following pattern (except one) : They have telegraphed moves that hit VERY hard and all the deaths are a way to learn from mistakes. There really is no cheap boss in this game , you only need to find the right strategy against it. Again , the DLC (FromSoft's main power) is a straight up 10/10. Artorias is one of the most challenging and well-known bosses in videogame history now, an actual dragon fight vs kalameet and some serious lore realizations compared with time travel. The main issue I have with this game is ... the game is unfinished. Due to time constraints, the final levels of the game are not finished properly. The area lost izalith and demon ruins feels the worst, it's just an area with copy/pasted enemies and a dissapointing boss fight. Speaking of dissapointing boss fights...with all the love, Dark souls also has THE worst boss fight in soulsborne series, namely the Bed of Chaos. In a game focused on fighting, this boss is a poor attempt at platforming. You have to hit 3 weak spots of a huge mass of trees and tentacles, all while avoiding the tentacles that can swipe you in various holes leading to instant death. This game having NO platforming value paired with a gruelling run to the boss makes it a real dissapointment in an otherwise brilliant game. Apart from that minor complaint...a game everyone should play. PRAISE THE SUN! THE GOOD: - the very definition of "flawed masterpiece" - tough but rewarding - interconnected world with an interesting lore - legendary bosses - the DLC is one of the best DLC's ever made for a videogame THE BAD: - game is rushed towards the end - Bed of Chaos is horrible - Blighttown and framerates No.5 : Demon's Souls Platinum name : Toughest Soul Trophy Hardest Trophy : Master Slasher - You need a special stone called bladestone which has an abysmal droprate. Difficulty : 5/10 - can't give it more due to how broken magic is in this game. Online is dead though so no more carrying across the game lads! Personal impression : 8.1/10 So apparently this is where all started and this was my first videogame on a PS3. Going through Dark Souls already, I had a vague idea what would expect me in Demon's Souls. That doesn't mean I didn't get wrecked, game is still brutal. This game feels like a beta test of Dark Souls. It's a great game, interesting lore, fan lore says it's linked to dark souls and I personally love it. However...it's clunky.really REALLY clunky. There is no balance in this game, magic is overpowered and destroys everything and everyone, there are lots of dubious mechanics ( World Tendency and Character Tendency) and the online when it was active was a mess. Still, very enjoyable! I believe when it first was launched the game's bosses really challenged everyone. The one unique thing in this game are the maps layout. There's 5 worlds, each having 3 to 4 segments and are being accessed from the Nexus ( main hub) through various stones. I have to admit, they are the best levels in a soulsborne game. Boletaria feels like a medieval castle under constant siege, the Stonefang tunnels are filled with critters and lava, Tower of Latria is hands down the best horror level in a non-horror game (I played Thief 3, the Shalebridge Cradle still ain't as creepy), the shrine of storms , a place haunted with...skeletons and flying manta rays (ok maybe not all levels are good). But BY FAR THE MOST MEMORABLE AND ANNOYING LEVEL EVER is the stupid ass swamp level that became a staple in every soulsborne game. Especially world 5-2 , a huge maze through a bog where you move at a snail's pace while the enemies are as fast as usual. Not to mention you cannot roll at all even. That level was the place where I died 90% of the time. Bosses are a funny thing in this game. In each world you need to reach the final level(for example Stonefang tunnel has 2-1 , 2-2 each with a boss, final "main" boss is in 2-3). While the most interesting bosses are along the way to the final level of each archstone (Flamelurker for example is one of the toughest bosses in soulsborne) , most of the time the final boss is either a puzzle, a joke or both. By far the biggest dissapointment was that the huge ass dragon that was presented in each trailer is just a puzzle boss that has no impact. Either way all bosses fall like flies vs magic so yes...they get better in Dark Souls Although my small review/impression sounded abit dissapointed , I actually loved this game, I still love it. It has its flaws, doesn't mean I didn't play it over 50 times with each build possible ( yes even with a SL1 run). Also the Maiden in Black is the best helper in all Soulsborne games THE GOOD: - the beginning of the Soulsborne legend - punishing but rewarding combat - deep and interesting lore - the best Nexus in all the Souls game - a wonderful soundtrack THE BAD: - a clunky experience - half of the weapons in the game are utter trash - most of the game can be cheesed with Thief Ring - some bosses escalate from trash to utterly cheap - Dragon God is a huge dissapointment - World 5-2 is the worst Miyazaki Swamp ever No. 6 : God of War (Best picture I could get that is not bearded Kratos) Platinum name : Trophy of Zeus Hardest trophy : I'll take the physical Challenge : Complete the challenge of the gods - A gauntlet where you have to kill waves of enemies under certain conditions...just check the internet to find out how frustrating that part is. Difficulty : 4/10 - decent but nothing out of the ordinary Personal impression : 8.6/10 The story of Greek's angriest antihero Kratos starts here! God of war is one of those games that put playstation 2 on the map (along with devil may cry I believe). You play as Kratos ,an angry greek who seeks revenge against his master Ares the god of war for the death of his family. This game is 100% adrenaline induced action with gallons of blood and gore. Using a pair of chained blades and with the help of the gods you mow through all the mythological Greece in order to reach your goal and show Ares who's the angriest. I played the PS3 version (never owned a PS2) and I have to say this is one amazing game. Fluid combat, accurate monsters, angry Kratos, nudity...all you could ask. The plot is just an excuse to whoop a minotaur with another minotaur while harpies explode. Pretty metal. Even on greater difficulties the game is still manageable, 100% skill required. The game has also puzzle sections which are pretty simple : Get key x to unlock y. Platforming ain't so bad(until you reach the dreaded level of Hades, climbing a column of spikes)and overall I had no frustration moment during the entire game. A different beast altogether are the Challenge of the Gods , required for the platinum. You have to kill a certain number of enemies under specific conditions( being in air, during a timer, while being on an elevator). They are extremely frustrating, the only place where I raged most of the times. There are only 3 bosses in the whole game : Hydra, Minotaur and Ares(if you don't count Medusa as a boss, it's more of a miniboss). Despite there being only 3 major bosses, all of them are epic and memorable. Hydra especially got me sold on the franchise. So yes... God of War, a great game. Not the most accurate game mythology wise but eh who cares, i can whoosh with blades in air! THE GOOD - a staple to the action genre - intuitive controls - brutal 10/10 combat - the atmosphere is everything THE BAD - the actual Greek Mythology is thrown to the garbage bin - only 3 actual bosses - Hades level is actual hell No.7 : God of War II Platinum name : Trophy of Gaia Hardest Trophy : Bleeding Thumbs - Beat the challenge of the titans Almost the same as the challenge of the gods in god of war 1 but abit more responsive Difficulty : 4/10 - Again, decent but nothing out of the ordinary. Personal impression : 9.2/10 God of War 2 is my favourite game from the old franchise. It's the continuation of the story of Kratos, now the newly appointed god of war ( wow he killed ares, the shock). Betrayed by Zeus and rescued by the titan Gaia, Kratos' quest is now finding the Sisters of Fate in an effort to change his fate and kill good ol' zapper Zeus. ...yes I know the plot ain't the smartest. Moving on. This game is better in every way than its predecessor. If God of War 1 opened the way for a glorious gory adventure, God of War 2 paved it. And boy oh boy how it did. You have more weapons although the Blades of Athena are still the best, more magic and thank the gods more bosses than before. Since the graphics and the combat are as good as the first game (really good I mean) I will focus on the bosses. You will have to deal with most greek heroes that are also searching for an audience with the fates. From Theseus, Ikarus, Perseus and some old friend the Barbarian (from the first game) all these new enemies are more brutal and more ruthless than before. A personal favourite is Perseus , voiced by Harry Hamlin. If you don't know who that guy is, he is the actor from the movie Clash of the Titans where he played as the hero Perseus( the old good movie, not the newer messy ones). I do believe this game has the best bosses out of all God of War games , Sisters of Fate and Zeus are unforgiving on higher difficulties and they keep you on your toes at all time. Luckily , there is a special item called the Golden Fleece, a gauntlet of sorts that lets you parry the attacks and reflect the damage back at the attacker. With some proper timing the game becomes trivial. As before God of War 2 has the challenge of the titans. They are a pain in the ass but not as bad as in god of war 1. Again, best game in the series, I really love this one. A timeless classic! THE GOOD - takes everything brought by GoW1 and improved tenfold - huge world filled with perils - way more bosses than before - epicness to a grander scale THE BAD - some dumb puzzles - the plot is still paper thin No. 8 : God of War Ghost of Sparta Platinum Name: The Ghost with the Most Hardest Trophy: Zeus May Cry - Finish the game on Hard Mode Difficulty : 4/10 Honestly only GoW3 was abit more difficult the rest were pretty ok Personal Impression : 7.4 /10 I had to check google in order to remember what happened in this game. In Ghost of Sparta you find out more background about Kratos' family (his mom and brother Deimos). A pretty well made game which sadly doesn't stand out too much. The only major thing that I remember from this game are the Arms of Sparta, basically a spear and shield equipment. Finally fighting like a true spartan I see. Also the interesting final fight against Thanatos where you fought together with your brother. Apart from that...eh? Good game I guess...ONTO THE NEXT ONE! THE GOOD - more insight about Kratos' background - looks pretty well for a PSP game THE BAD - unmemorable - fighting Thanatos is stupid No.9 : God of War : Chains of Olympus Platinum name : Above and Beyond Hardest trophy : Mutton for Punishment - Slit 50 Satyr throatsMostly annoyed me because I had to farm those stupid satyrs. Difficulty : 4.3/10 - just abit more challenging than the rest. Personal Impression : 8.3/10 The better PSP God of War game, Chains of Olympus tells the story of Kratos while still in the service of the gods. While fending an attack from the Persian army , someone stole the Sun from the sky and it's Kratos' task to find out the culprit. This game is loads of fun. The first moments of the game you fight with a full on Persian army , a Basilisk (persian monster) then the persian king who wields an Efreet as magic . it's the first time another civilization has butted in our bloody epic and I quite enjoyed it. There are more interesting weapons this time, most notably Helios' Disc, a shield that also acts as a projectile and the Gauntlet of Zeus, a huge metallic glove that just pulverizes the enemies. What I found interesting was that the bosses were really difficult this time around. The final boss Persephone really gave me a run for my money ,I died several times just because she was genuinely challenging. Also it's the first time I see Kratos' soft side in a god of war game given by the moments with his daughter in the Elysium Fields. Really appreciated those little moments. Apart from that... typical hack & slash god of war game, loads of fun also. Quite a good entry in the series. THE GOOD - even more God of War, but in a good way - GAUNTLET OF ZEUS SMASH! - The final part is tear jerking THE BAD - the story is abit flimsy to follow - very few memorable bosses apart from Basilisk and Persephone No.10 : God of War III Platinum name : King of the Hill Hardest Trophy : Unhuman - Beat Titan mode Difficulty : 5/10 -definetly a step up to the other games in terms of difficulty. Still not as bad as you'd expect. Personal impression : 8.8/10 Here it is, the final chapter in Kratos's Story...at least concerning Greece. Directly continuing the ending of God of War 2, Kratos sieges Mount Olympus with the help of Gaia in order to kill Zeus once and for all. The game is now at an epic proportion. From the first fight with Poseidon, to Cronos, Hephaestus and so on , this game is bigger, badder ,shinier and gorier. Kratos has never been angrier, new combos are availablle, new weapons pulled from the bodies of the murdered gods, this game tested the full capabilities of the PS3 system. Even if it's on PS3 this game looks ASTONISHING. You can observe Olympus in all its glory, the Underworld and Daedalus' Labyrinth( which is more of a Rubik's cube for...some reason). Simply awe-inducing. The bosses are the best the franchise has to offer. Poseidon, Hades, Hercules ( voiced by almighty Kevin Sorbo no less) , Hermes ( what a goofball) and in the end zeus they will all test your skills especially in Titan mode. They are very brutal , as you'd expect from a god and requires deep knowledge of combat in order to stand against them. There is another boss Skorpius but...eh that one is kinda lame. Basically a crystal scorpion, nothing interesting. However there's one thing that I don't like at this game : Kratos himself. From an antihero I felt he turned full villain in this game. He destroys everything in his path regardless of innocent bystanders and all he does is grunting and yelling ZEUS all day long. The fact that Pandora is thrown into the game as a poor attempt of pulling humanity out of Kratos(and failing miserably) doesn't help. I simply did not like Kratos' personality here. All in all ,a fitting end for the God of War greek saga. Glorious games followed by a worthy half-reboot. But more about that later on THE GOOD - An end of an era - the best PS3 graphics at the time - Kratos is more brutal than ever THE BAD - Kratos himself became a mindless brute - The whole Pandora shebang is stupid - The end of the world affects only Greece 11-20 Spoiler No. 11 : God of War : Ascension Platinum Name : Champion of the Gods Hardest Trophy : Legendary Warrior : Complete the game on Hard Difficulty (Not as hard as you'd expect) Difficulty : 4/10 nothing special apart from the Archimede trials Personal impression : 7.8/10 - as average as it gets The last entry of the original god of war series, it is a sort of prequel that tells the story of Kratos after he quit his services for Ares and was imprisoned by the Furies because he broke his contract. This god of war felt just like a filler. It is not a bad game at all it just doesn't add much to the story. The furies are poor villains and Kratos having feelings is not convincing enough (done way better in 2018 release). The bosses were interesting enough but again they felt like scraping the bottom of the mythology barrel. The combat again feels like a downgrade. Since Kratos ain't the murdering machine in God of War 3, the weapons don't have the oomph anymore. You can now imbue your blades of chaos with various elemental buffs but that is all more or less. However the graphics and the soundtrack are as gorgeous as ever. The levels where Kratos walks are really beautiful , rivalling God of War 3 in aesthetic. The puzzles are way smarter and tougher this time, the time rewind item being a key element in these puzzles. On that aspect I was really impressed. The game attempts a multiplayer mode (as it was the custom with single player games at that period of time) but after the first 10 minutes of "attempting" to play....it's an atrocious mode, would not recommend attempting unless you go for the platinum. Trophies are easy anyway. Bottom Line : a decent game, nothing out of the ordinary, it tried its best THE GOOD - Kratos is more humane than ever - the time manipulation mechanics are awesome - the game itself is gorgeous THE BAD - brings nothing new to the table; we didn't need a prequel really - nobody cares about the Furies - why did they add Multiplayer? No. 12 : NieR Platinum name : The Final Verse Hardest trophy : Forging Master- you upgraded 30 weapons to their maximum level - Very awful grinding, some items drop rate are horrible. Difficulty : 5/10 - you can easily get lost in this game Personal impression : 9.2/10 What a masterpiece! That is my whole impression over this game turned cult classic by Yoko Taro. Acting as a sort of spiritual successor of Drakengard series, NieR puts you in the shoes of a father (in Gestalt version or brother if you have the Replicant japanese version) that desperately searches a cure for his daughter's deadly disease. On his quest he encounters various misfits : Kaine - an ostracized foulmouthed girl that is not what she seems(she has some sexy ass lingerie though), Emil - a young magic boy that becomes the mascot of the series (he's the head that Yoko Taro always wears) and Grimoire Weiss, a talking magical book that has the sass of an english lord. The first thing that strikes me is the relationship with the cast. All the dialogues are very well written and the interaction between characters feels real. Mankind is on the brink of extinction because of the monsters plaguing them ,the Shades, so it's nice to see some genuine cooperation in this kind of videogame. Maybe other writers should take notes. Sadly I really wish to avoid talking about the story, since spoiling it would be sacrilegious even though it's the bread and butter of the game. I just want to say it's a straight up 10/10 for me. One of the best stories I've encountered in a long while. Even the sidequests that tell you the misery of the people are really intriguing even though all of them are based on "Fetch item x from A to B".I could add more in the comments if I am requested. Sadly the game has some major drawbacks. The graphics aren't pretty at all (I find that they add to the charm of the game but many do not think so) and the combat is barebones. Just pick up a spear and do aerial lunges. That's how you defeat the whole game. Also Yoko Taro himself adds to the lore in true Japanese fashion (by stage plays and audio books). Like.... Taro-san please. Just keep it to the game?Thank you. What I want to also talk about is the soundtrack. AMAZING!!!!. The soundtrack blends in PERFECTLY into the game . The verses are gibberish (chaotic language),created just to sound well and I am in awe. It's the first time I encountered that kind of soundtrack and I would gladly pay for a ticket to a concert with that music You can't say Nier without thinking of the soundtrack that's for sure. Even Yoko Taro was slightly annoyed cause the game is more recognized because of the OST than the story but oh well perfection and such. Such an amazing game. One of the best pieces on PS3, wholeheartedly recommend it. THE GOOD - a cult classic - the whole cast is fun as hell; especially Emil and Kaine interaction - such a great soundtrack is not humanely possible - the world feels alive and genuine - the story gets another big like THE BAD - way too many fetch quests - boring, uninspired combat - boy, Nier is butt ugly No.13 : Nioh Platinum name : You Are Nioh Hardest Trophy : All the way of the Demon related trophies it's the only game that I have the platinum but it's not 100% - to be done. This game is Bloodborne on steroids and Monster energy Difficulty : 7/10. Even with help and a Living Weapon build, this game is still pretty difficult. Main story is decent but the DLC are stupid tough to do. Personal impression : 8.4/10 Weeb souls here! Jokes aside , Nioh is an action-RPG where you control William, an irishman lost in the mythical land of Japan in search for his familiar Saoirse (some Celtic spirit don't ask me ). He gets caught into the peak of the Warring states period mingled with magic and all japanese mythology that you could think of. First mention : THIS GAME IS HARD. No really, every aspect of this game is tough and unforgiving. From the combat to the upgrade system (which is even tougher) to secret super missions, this game honestly is not for the faint of hearted. Whoever attempts it thinking that it is a Soulsborne game is sorely mistaken!!!!! Nioh has more in common with ninja gaiden than Bloodborne ,even if it has a stamina bar. The combat is way faster paced and enemies are more brutal. The story is nothing special. You get missions from various important figures around the Sengoku Era (whose names I can't pronounce for the love of me). The entire game is mission based, meaning you have to select which mission you wish to attempt from the map. Each main mission has a big bad boss , on the normal game they are really pushovers to be honest. The first 3 of the bunch are dangerous but once you learned the pattern and the way the game is played, they become trivial. In contrast, the DLC bosses are so difficult it feels unfair at points. Especially some annoying side missions pit you against 2 bosses at once. Definetly not fun! The soundtrack is nothing special sadly. Not even typical Japanese effects , it's just some generic percussion and random instruments. The only good soundtrack I have heard was the one vs Sanada Yukimura in the DLC. But apart from that...nah it's reused for every single encounter. The thing this game does well though is the gameplay. Boy it's responsive! You have a stamina...ahem KI bar, 3 stances ( low ,medium and high ) and tons and tons of weapons and armor (Weapons being : katana, dual katana, axes/hammers, kusarigama, spears, Odachi and Tonfas , paired with bows, flintlock guns and hand cannons as ranged). You also have ninjutsu and magic system, both pretty complex with buffs/debuffs. The ninja system especially can make you a hand to hand combat powerhouse with the right build. Speaking of builds...Nioh has one of the most complex upgrading system I have ever seen. Set bonuses, upgrades, stats over stats, secret items, super secret items, ascendancy....I was honestly lost. Even after 3 months of tinkering I still have no idea what goes best. I mainly specialized into a "back attack damage" as in I do pitiful damage regularly but if I attack the back of an enemy I do 5 times the normal damage. The game also has a curious system of Guardian Spirits , cute animals that you collect from various bosses and give you specific bonuses. They also allow you to go into Living Weapon mode, a sort of Super Sayian mode where all your damage is increased and you are invincible. However this LW mode has a bar that slowly depletes. So be careful how you use it ,else you will wake up in the middle of a horde of enemies while the LW has depleted. SUDDEN DEATH! There is alot to write about this game but strangely enough I don't have the mood for it. And that's how the game feels. It has alot of stuff to be discovered but everything feels so plain I lost interest quite fast. It was fun while it lasted but I lack the motivation to 100% , not because it's hard or anything but because I got bored of it. Still a mildly pleasant experience to pass time . THE GOOD - perhaps the most accurate Japanese game lorewise - punishing Souls-like difficulty (BUT IT'S NOT DARK SOULS!) - my god the options of loot and upgrade would make any diablo fanatic blush! THE BAD - uninspired bosses - the difficulty ramp up in DLC is bullshit - Team Ninja's obsession with patches ruins all the builds in the game - did they just recycle 4 tunes for this game? - story is wack and not interesting No. 14 : NieR : Automata Platinum name : Final Words Hardest Trophy : Naughty Children secret fight against Emil. Don't even dare fighting him if you are not at least level 90 , he WILL kick your ass even on Easy Difficulty : 4/10 - you even have a trophy shop , nice job , cuts down the grind part Personal impression : 9.2/10 if you haven't played the first NieR , 9.5 /10 if you did PLAY THE FIRST NIER BEFORE THIS! It's the greatest advice I can give related to NieR Automata. Or at least see a walkthrough. Most people say the first NieR is not required in order to enjoy Automata, to which I say that they are terribly wrong. Nier has some important lore pieces that transform Automata from a robot oddysey to a heartbreaking drama. Going into Nier Automata without knowing who emil or kaine is ... blasphemy . Introductions aside... NieR automata. Androids versus alien robots. Sexy gothic dressed pair 2B and 9S fight the tin-headed robots for the glory of mankind...or do they? Being supervised by Square Enix, the entire game is a spectacle. Pure japanese fashion , with the memorable weirdass soundtrack , you slash through robots in a beautiful dance as 2B or hack them as 9S. You try to solve the scourge of the robots created by aliens and find out why they are controlling the earth. God bless the combat, it's 10 times better than in Nier, you can do proper combos and it's so fluid it never gets boring. The whole theme of the game is about the Soul and which beings can have it. Despite being Androids vs Robots , both parties clearly struggle with the freedom of choice against the commands of their creators. Also each of them , protagonist and villains alike have to make important choices that contradict their own beliefs. Even the "mindless" robots have a will of their own, or at least that's what you try to figure out the entire game : Is it free will or that is how they were programmed to simulate it? It really is an interesting take. This game has 28 endings : 23 joke ones and 5 regular ones. Game being split into 2 parts, you have to play as 2B first, then 9S . The second half of the game flips everything over . I do recommend a guide for all the ending, the Emil ending especially is missable if you don't do the proper things in order. Sadly, if you never played the first Nier, the whole game will remain kinda obscure to you. You will never get why Emil is so important, the back story, what's the deal with the huge desert and the stupid rules at the colosseum and so on. On the other hand you won't get a slight idea about the ending either like I did knowing the ending of Nier, I had a vague idea of the hidden plot behind Automata. So...you win some you lose some? Sadly I can't say more about Nier Automata without spoiling so , go get that game! it's really good and if you have a ps3 do get the first Nier as well! THE GOOD - it's like Nier but improved in every way - slick combat - again 10/10 soundtrack - what a world! - robots with feels!! THE BAD - you won't understand a thing if you never played Nier on PS3 - robots with feels are still robots in the end - weird ass ending - path B was unnecessary No.15 : Hellblade : Senua's Sacrifice Platinum Name : Done Hardest Trophy : Stories From the North - Collect all of the Lorestones Difficulty : 2/10 Personal Impression : 9.8/10 If my Personal Impression grade didn't give it off already, I am in love with this game. Seriously this might be the best independent AAA game ever made. In Hellblade you follow the steps of a Pict woman called Senua who wants to send the remains of her lover in the afterlife. The catch here : Senua suffers from schizophrenia and is constantly seeing things and hearing voices. Honestly Ninja Theory did an EPIC job here. Being both developers and publishers, they had free reigns over the production of this jewel . And boy what a marvel did they create. The game itself is a mix between puzzle solving and action hack&slash . Senua must find her way to Hel while battling all the demons of her mind. The most interesting mechanic of this game are the "voices " she hears. Some mock her, some help her, they can yell or whisper, the experience is unique. Pair it with the more interesting level designs (you have to traverse one level while being blind) and you'll have the experience of your lifetime. The second mechanic is a "Permadeath" mechanic. Basically if you die too many times in this game , you get a definitive game over and you have to start again. At least in theory...you'll see what I mean should you try it The bosses represent each of Senua's traumas : The invaders , the loss of his best friend/lover, the abusive father -chief of the village. Especially the father section where you are thrown in the pits of earth , the best psychological horror I have ever encountered. I believe the game reached its purpose with me because I really sat down and read about schizophrenia after finishing this game. On your road you are accompanied by the stories told by an old friend of Senua's , Druth. Through him you learn of most of Norse mythology and what they were supposed to mean to the people. Getting all the Lorestones opens up a new cutscene at the end of the game so make sure you collect them! Also shocking, the combat is insane. Although this game definetly is not focused on combat, you can do alot of combos and links, as long as they make sense. It's like a dance, really. I was amazed that I still discovered new ways to punish enemies in a game focused on puzzles and story. My advice : Play this game as soon as possible, ignore the platinum , just...play it. It's an experience like no other. Buy it at full price, you will not regret it! THE GOOD - The world presentation - Senua's Journey through Hel - soundtrack - the approach to Senua's mental illness - honestly the whole game THE BAD - it left me asking for more No. 16 : Salt and Sanctuary Platinum name : Saltborn Hardest trophy : Keepers of Fire and Sky a covenant in the game , finding and joining it requires multiple platforming sections in one of the hardest parts of the game. Difficulty : 6/10 - surprisingly complex Personal Impression : 8.6/10 This little game developed by Ska Studios is possible the closest you would get to a "souls " game. The premise is simple : you ,the chosen unde-- sorry , the saltborn are being stranded on a weird island and you try to get out. In true Soulsborne fashion, there's mystery, cryptic messages , gruelling enemies, insane bosses and that glorious YOU DIED message. Although 2D ,this game FEELS like a souls game. Even the mechanics with stamina bar and the constant need to pay attention to your surroundings ,this game is punishing you for every mistake and rewards you for learning. However this game has its own identity : You have one impressive skill tree together with your stats , you unlock different abilities (shifting gravity, wall jump and so on) and the weapons are more varied that even in dark souls .The magic has an unique system : You have a line over a bar that should be in the middle , "balanced" . if you use one type of magic too intensively , the balance is set off and you get damage. It ties in beautifully with the inner lore that says " balance is the most important thing in magic, lack of balance is lack of order and brings only chaos" . The lore is really REALLY well made. I recommend getting "The Drowned Tome" pdf online ,who explains the whole lore behind the game. It's surprisingly well written, I recommend it. Of course being made by a small developer team, the game has its hiccups. The traditional sword and shield build is OP (you find a tower shield that 100% blocks every kind of attack, making you virtually invincible unless grabbed or tossed from a cliff), some minor bugs appear when you try to roll and some bosses can get stuck in the walls. Also past NG+5 the whole game can utterly crash completely. But those are minor issues compared to the greatness of the game. Just be prepared for a pretty tough challenge ahead : This game doesn't pull any punches! THE GOOD - the only 2D I've played so far that GETS the idea of a soulsborne game - a diverse skill tree with multiple options - a really complex story that takes time to unfold THE BAD - it has some serious bugs - some bosses are straight up cheap No. 17 : For Honor +Marching fire DLC 100% Platinum name : Battle-Hardened Veteran Hardest trophy : - You're on Fire ! - Get 5 Kill Streaks of 5 kills in Elimination or Skirmish in PvP. Given it's a multiplayer game in a 4v4 situation where Elimination and Skirmish are really empty since the day of launch, this trophy is really hard to get. Worked one week only for this one. - if attempted solo ,then the DLC trophy : Serial Quester - complete 5 Quests of different rarity levels basically an arcade mode vs AI controlled opponents, last level Legendary has opponents that read your input. Only the best beat this mode solo Difficulty : 5-6/10 if you played fighting games before , 7/10 if you are new to the concepts of neutrals ,zoning and so on. Personal impression : 8.1/10 This is my first fighting game platinum! While some might argue that For Honor is not a traditional Fighting game (well duh it's knights vs samurai vs vikings vs chinese), it has all the ingredients for a fighting game : Vanguards(shoto) or Heavy(grapplers), neutrals, zoning, footsies, bluffs and so on. But onto the game : For Honor is a fighting RPG game where 3 races (now 4 with the Marching fire expansion) fight each other for conquest, glory and honor. The mechanics are quite unique for a game : you see your hero in 3rd view and you have 3 stances : Up, left and right. You have to match your opponent's stance in order to block and you must outmatch his stance in order to damage him. Throw in light and heavy attacks , parries and unblockables and you have one crazy combat out there. This might be one of Ubisoft's boldest projects yet. The game has a kinda steep learning curve. Surprisingly , you HAVE to start with the single player story mode. The story itself is really dumb you can ignore it, but it helps in teaching you all the core mechanics of the game. DON'T JOIN THE MULTIPLAYER UNTIL YOU HAVE FINISHED THE STORY else you will be in a world of pain. People WILL punish you in multiplayer and you won't know why. After learning the story I still recommend going for the tutorial. Tutorial teaches you some extra finesse things (consider the story mode a tutorial for the tutorial of sorts). After you are done with these tedious but vital modes,it's time to get to the bread and butter : Multiplayer. And boy this is where the fun begins. The multiplayer modes are pretty simple : 1v1 duels, 2v2 brawls, regular 4v4 skirmish and elimination and 4v4 tribute/capture the flag(literally dead, noone plays capture the flag). These are pretty straightforward. The other 2 modes : 4v4 Dominion (control 3 nodes and kill the opposition) or Breach (one team attacks while one defends) are the modes to-go. There you need tight teamwork and coordination , going Leeroy Jenkins into the battle will definetly get you killed. Only the best can win a 4v1 situation. The bad part about this game : Ubisoft. For around 1 year the servers were potato level. Failed disconnections and the most atrocious matchmaking ever ( me a level 40 got matched up with a lvl 121). But the good part : Ubisoft listens to the fanbase , always adds up patches balances and new heroes. They added recently the Marching Fire DLC with a brand new faction the Wu Lin . Surprisingly they are really well balanced and fun to play. Of course in true multiplayer sense, you have cosmetics, executions and effects for your hero. Beware the fanbase though ,it can get quite toxic! I wholeheartedly recommend this game, if you wish something truly unique to play. Just beware of trolls, don't get angry (and stay away from ranked mode unless you are really good at it) THE GOOD - Ubisoft game: Good ideas... - holy hell the most accurate combat so far ... until the Wu Lin appeared - diverse modes and tight mechanics - the game is straight up beautiful THE BAD - ... but horrible implementations - holy hell the shittiest internet connectivity ever. They did dedicated servers only a while back - PS4 version is garbage compared to the PC - awful imbalance of the characters : Berserk is OP - patches seem to make everything worse - the community is awful No.18 : Dark Souls II : Scholars of The First Sin (PS4) Platinum name : The Dark Soul Hardest trophy : Master of Sorceries see the DSII for PS3 reasons Difficulty : 5/10 Personal Impression : 7.6/10 - screw the DLC bullshit This version of dark souls 2 contains all the DLC from the first release in one package. Sadly for the spells ,pyros and miracles trophy you need to collect the ones from DLC as well. This is definetly an upgrade to the first release of Dark Souls 2 : Better and smoother graphics, better drop rate, different enemy placement and invaders (although honestly screw fragrant branches of yore, key items that unlock paths. Really REALLY dumb mechanic). Not much to say except : describing the DLC's . The DLC's are called Crowns and they all unlock extra levels and lore: -Crown of the Iron King - you get to explore the Brume Tower and see the domain of the Iron King (the lava dragon that 's piss easy to beat in Iron Keep). An infuriating level choke full of insane enemies, really hard to traverse , filled with traps , felt more of a castlevania level. Weirdly enough I didn't dislike it that much, it has the best 2 bosses in the whole game ( Sir Alonne and Fume Knight) but also a reskin of the great Smelter Demon(dubbed Blue Smelter Demon) - really lazy , FromSoft, really lazy. Also you need to collect 13 Nadalia soul shards from various statues that are unlocked with key items. Abit of backtracking but in general a delightful experience. -Crown of the Sunken King - The best of the 3 DLC. You get sent to the hidden underground city of Shulva where a pissy dragon woke up and started poisoning everything around. You have to traverse traps and platforms, poisonous pits , 2 awesome bosses ( Elana, a daughter of the OG angry guy Manus and Sihn the Poison dragon ) But alsooo the mandatory shit boss of the DLC's , the 3 graverobbers . Basically a ganking of 3 stooges : Havel , a swordsman and an archer with a greatbow. Nothing to mention here, better have a bow equipped for puzzles. -Crown of the Ivory King - WORST DLC IN THE SERIES. Jesus christ it's a fuckfest. Basically you are thrown into a city covered by a blizzard. Everything is white and you can barely see the enemies. There are 2 interesting bosses :Aava, an oversized cat which is quite challenging until you remove the blizzard and even then she can kick your ass aaand the Ivory King himself : after you enlist the help of some faithful Ivory servants, you go to the pits of chaos (reference to Lost Izalith) and battle the charred guard of the Ivory King and after that the King himself. He must be the most badass character in all Dark Souls 2. Howeverrrrrr....Frigid Outskirts. Whoever played soulsborne and hasn't heard of this level....better document yourself. This level is alone the most fucked up level in the entire series. You have a 1 minute blizzard that stops for 10 seconds, you have no idea where you are going and you are assaulted by electrical reindeers from everywhere that could oneshot you regardless of your level. Whoever thought of that level should be shot. Not to mention that at the end of the path ,there is a dual boss : 2 aava cats ( Lud & Zallen) . So not only this is the worst level existent in souls series, the final bosses are just some sad cut/paste cats. HORRIBLE 1/10 . The game also adds Aldia as a loremaster and as final boss : He is the brother of King Vendrick and uncovers the lore around Dark Souls 2 and around the dark soul. Although his final boss battle was meh, he alone is one of the most important lore tellers in all dark souls since he uncovers the mistery around the Undead Curse (Gwyn you asshole). Still loved to replay this game, too bad the DLC s plagued this awesome game. THE GOOD: - the same as DS2 original - the graphics are vastly improved THE BAD: - the enemy and item replacement is plain stupid and has no meaning - being forced to collect all the DLC spells ,miracles, hexes and pyros is a massive pain. No.19 : God of War Platinum name : Father and Son Hardest trophy : Chooser of the Slain - Defeat all 9 Valkyries Not really that hard but these winged chicks were a challenge nevertheless, the Queen Sigrund is the hardest boss to defeat in the series Difficulty : 3.5/10 Personal impression : 9.8/10 This is by far my favourite God of War game. Scratch that, it's one of my favourite games of all time. I have to note, some people complain that Kratos "went Hollywood and the original franchise died" . I sadly disagree. Unlike devil may cry who got back stronger than ever with DMC5, God of War was slowly dying and was becoming irrelevant. This new iteration/semireboot is what the series need and what saved Kratos' life. If you don't believe me then just check the other reviews and scores This game takes Kratos years after the events in God of War 3 in the land of Midgard. Kratos , older and wiser and with an (alive) son embarks on a journey to deliver his deceased wife's ashes. If you think this is just another reason to bash monsters' skulls and hump poorly dressed women...sorry guys this a different kind of game. I mean..yes ,you still bash monsters. Although now the game is played in full 3rd person perspective, the combat is as brutal as ever. The new Leviathan axe is a delight to use. The new RPG approach means you can do armor and item builds and effects, paired with magic , leads to some interesting results ( there is even a Thanos build with the infinity stones if you wish to snap monsters to oblivion ). Combatwise the game gets a straight A++. But I don't want to talk about the combat. What surprised and moved me was the story. Again, some would say that it's hollywood-y, I don't care about that. The whole game is about a former god of war, a murder machine ,a raging monster that toppled an entire civilization just to kill his father, trying his best to contain his past and raise his son as best as he could. Don't play God of War 2018 as a stand alone game, consider the past games too. It's about an immortal old man that tries to make amends and raise his son as well as he can while hiding the demons of his past. This alone made me love the game. The new Norse setting is unforgiving. All the gods know about Kratos and who he really is while Kratos tries his best to hide the past from his son. Since this is probably the first entry in another series, there aren't many gods present here, only a few that although challenging , they aren't as flashy as their greek counterparts. Sorry Baldur , you are cheeky but you ain't no Hermes. Because this game is also dubbed DAD OF BOI , it's time to talk about Atreus. Normally the escort missions are the shittiest, imagine escort games. HOWEVER Atreus is the single best side character child companion that I've ever met in a videogame. Move along Elie, nobody cares about zombies, Atreus is badass. He definetly takes after his father ( Rage of Sparta moment) , is cheeky but learns from his mistakes. I loved the little runt. PLUS he is very helpful with his elemental arrows. Also the father-son moments are a delight , especially with a gruff dad and a curious boy. Mimir is another fine addition to the roster. The all-knowing sage of the world, he accompanies Kratos as a head (you will see why) , all while making witty remarks, helping with puzzles and combat (he's like a warning sign if someone attacks from behind) The best part about this game are the side stuff. Midgard is explorable, a sort of open world and you can travel to other worlds through Yggdrassil. There's 2 notable worlds : Muspelheim , a world of fire and brimstone where you get various combat challenges(kinda like challenge of the gods from the previous games) and Niflheim , a misty poisonous area filled with traps and treasure. I loved exploring both of these worlds. However the greatest challenge represent the Valkyries - optional bosses ,each with their own movesets that would give Kratos a run for his money. They are no pushover even on easy ,especially the Valkyrie Queen ,she might be the hardest boss I have faced in the entire franchise . It was brutal and I loved it. There are some minor issues aka the story kinda feels like " your princess is in another castle" , the whole game is a huge fetch quest. But that is a little complaint compared to the quality of this game. Bravo Santa Monica, I need more ! (if this review feels lazy, just buy and play the damn game , else I will write forever about this ) THE GOOD: - KRATOS IS BACK - what a beautiful world Midgard is... - finally a decent story! - the relationship Kratos-Atreus is brilliant - a fitting revival of the series THE BAD: - some enemies are straight up annoying - few diversity between bosses No.20 : Dark Souls Remastered Platinum Name : The Dark Soul Hardest Trophy : Knight's Honor - Acquire all special weapons Difficulty : 2/10 - cause I played the first Dark souls to obsession lol, remastered was like My Name is Mayo in terms of difficulty Enjoyment : 8/10 It's a remaster. For my DS1 impressions check entry No.4. Apart from a new bonfire near the catacombs blacksmith, changing covenants whenever you desire and some netcode improvements, it's the same game with shiny graphics. Too expensive in my opinion though. But hey! it's friggin dark souls! (honestly screw the invaders and their infinite backstab bullshit) THE GOOD: - you get to replay the masterpiece that is DS1 - that Catacombs bonfire THE BAD: - a poor remaster attempt at a full price, considering the modders on PC did a way better job - feels like a cash grab 21-30 Spoiler No. 21 : My Name is Mayo Platinum Name : My Name is Mayo! Hardest Trophy : No Brainer because this game knows you don't need a brain Difficulty : What? /10 Personal impression : infinite/infinite x 0 You click a jar of mayo. That's it go home everyone. No really this is a game I will always remember, mainly because I sprained my thumb while furiously attacking the poor button and my girlfriend really started to consider her life choices when she saw a grown up clicking a jar of mayo. Yeah , good game. I don't regret it. MOVING ON! THE GOOD: - you will be a meme lord - Mayo THE BAD: - finger murdering alert - "leet" losers will envy your mayo fingering skills - Garlic Mayo is still the best No.22 : Devil May Cry 4 Platinum Name : Devils Never Cry Hardest Trophy : House of Pain - Clean all Bloody palace stages with all Characters Untouchable - Defeat Dante in Bloody Palace without taking damage - both shall be explained in the review Difficulty : 7.5/10 Personal impression : 8.4/10 DMC4 is the fourth (duh) installment in the devil may cry series , an action hack&slash developed by capcom. In this iteration instead of playing with good ol' Demonic asswhooper Dante , you take control of a new protagonist Nero, a white haired teenager with a demonic arm and a rebellious attitude. Expect lots of swords, guns, slashes, stylish stuff and cheesiness. I have played the Special Edition since the original DMC4 version didn't have trophies on PS3. In this special edition in addition to Dante and Nero you also play as Dante's Twin Brother Vergil, fellow business partner-demoness Trish and human schoolgirl with a happy-trigger Lady. Since the game's story is pretty bland(Nero investigates the demon occurence in the city of Fortuna, blah blah girlfriend gets stolen blah blah Dante appears and he is immortal blah blah the holy order was the culprit all along) I will insist on the characters and bosses : Nero - badass kid with a demonic arm. He has only one sword that can be revved up like a motorcycle and a gun that can be charged up to level 3 to dish out insane amounts of damage. His demonic arm called Devil Bringer is used like both a grappling hook and a massive hand to slam various enemies to the ground or throw in the air. Easiest character to use, definetly the cringiest dialogue but all in all a very fun character to play as. Dante - protagonist of the series, has access to 4 styles ( later an additional one) : Gunslinger ( special gun tricks) , swordmaster ( special weapon tricks) , Trickster ( various dodges and escapes modes) and royal guard ( guards and parries). He gets more weaponries from the bosses that he fights - swords and guns. Pretty hard to use but definetly the most satisfying once you have mastered him. Just watch Donguri online to see what I'm talking about. Vergil - Dante's twin brother, brought in this game just for fanservice. The most overpowered character ever. He has a katana for maximum weeb slash, a gauntlet type of weaponry from DMC3 beowulf for hard hitting attacks and a combination between katana Yamato and a claymore Force Edge, for even more slashes. He also can teleport and shoot summoned swords. He is so powerful it's absurd. Lady - imagine Vergil but with guns. She has twin guns that shoot explosive rounds, a shotgun and her trademark launcher Kalina Ann. Surprisingly all monsters are pretty weak to weaponries therefore Lady really can dish out a ton of damage especially if you upgrade and charge her weapons. Trish - more like Trash. Trish is the weakest in the game, mainly because she has only one powerful combo ,the rest of her kit is useless. She can charge her punches and kicks with lightning and has a homing sword-turned-scythe called Sparda. I won't get into the lore ,it's pretty easy to understand it so you search it. She is pretty hard to use. Bosses - the bosses in DMC4 are really impressive and imposing, however due to the worst habit of the game to backtrack you around the game you have to fight them 3 times . Notable exception is Credo, the best boss of the game, you fight him only once . GG Capcom. The bosses are mean, dish out alot of damage and on higher difficulty levels they will kick your ass. Bloody palace - a gauntlet of sorts with 101 levels ,each level giving you a combination of monsters that you must defeat before the time runs out. Each 20 levels you have to face a boss from the game. Unlike the other games, here I will have to talk about the trophies. This game's Platinum is not easy! You have to finish all game modes with an S rank on every level(on Dante must Die it will be brutal). You have to collect all blue orbs and upgrade your demonic power to the max. You have to beat all bosses with SSS rank ( beating Dante will prove to be a huge challenge, mainly because he's an asshole as a boss). But by far the most challenging will be the Bloody Palace. There are 2 trophies that might be platinum busters for many : Finish bloody palace with all characters and defeat Dante( on final floor) without taking a single hit. Finishing Bloody Palace with Dante Nero and Vergil is pretty easy, after finishing Dante Must Die I believe you get access to their super costumes ( infinite devil trigger) , they can clean up the palace in no time. Lady and Trish don't get super costumes but Lady being a powerhouse already , finishing bloody palace is really easy. The problem comes with Trish, she is incredibly weak. There is a level where you have to fight 2 Blitzes ( teleporting enemies, can be harmed by guns only at first) . Trish doesn't have the firepower to deal with those suckers and reaching that level takes around 2 hours ( no checkpoints inbetween levels). I died around 3 -4 times at that specific level which proved infuriating. With perseverance you can do it though. The other trophy is defeating dante on floor 101 without taking damage. Why is this hard? Dante has GUNS. He fires them randomly! Even a bullet voids the trophy. Luckily with YOUR Dante's weapon Pandora (that can transform into a frisbee) you can stunlock the dark Dante into place. However it's tricky to pull. My impressions : I loved this game. Definitely one of my hardest platinums , I am proud of it. I won't review DMC games as seriously as the other games since they are pretty simple lorewise and it would be a waste. Plus I don't feel like it BOSS RANKING 9.Agnus Screen: More of a small road bump than an actual boss, this is the first encounter of Nero with Agnus. Basically Agnus just stays behind an electrified screen laughing at you while you throw swords at him and avoid the electric floor. 2/10 it's just a puzzle with a health bar. 8.The Saviour: All bark and no bite. As Dante, you fight this colossal flying statue throwing orbs, missiles and waves of knights at you. All you have to do is smash all the blue orbs on the Saviour's body. The boss is so simple I almost always forget about him. 3/10 it's just a platforming section with a health bar. 7.Agnus: Now we get to the part where bosses are decent. However I fell that Agnus is the worst of the bunch. He transforms into a ... demonic scarab?that loves summoning all kinds of fire spitting shit around the arena, flail some swords and grab attack you. He's a pushover though especially with Dante. 6/10 good but not really. 6.Bael/Dagon: This ice spitting frog is actually a nice encounter. You first have to fight his antennae (a pair of hot chicks) then you have to dodge the various Cerberus like attacks of his. If you are not careful he can actually eat you. 7/10, fun boss but the chick fight can be annoying. 5.Echidna: Just a bit better than Bael/Dagon, Echidna is a huge flying serpent lady that spits with seeds. Main attacks are just charging at you or summoning various vines from the ground. She is a decent challenge. 7.5/10, she's visually more impressive. 4.Sanctus: The main villain gramps of the game, he has a shield that you must first demolish. All of his attacks are energy based : Lasers, missiles etc. In his second fight he has a charged Sparda attack which you can of course counter with your Buster attack. 7.8/10 gramps is fun. 3.Dante: Despite being the main man of the series, Dante here takes only the 3rd spot. Despite having all the regular moveset that you have, he really looks bored and uninterested in you unless you are on DMD. 8/10 Nero deadweight jokes foreshadowed. 2.Berial: NOW THAT'S AN IMPRESSIVE BOSS! Berial is a fire behemoth that has various attacks, either with his flaming sword or by summoning fire pillars, combined with other physical attacks. 9/10 that's a stylish boss allright. 1.Credo: You can consider Credo to be the Vergil of Nero. He's sort of a mirror match to Nero, and on higher difficulties he can absolutely demolish you. Looks stylish, is epic, has summoned lances and can whoop your ass. 10/10 too bad you die you handsome man. THE GOOD - solid 10/10 combat, worthy of a DMC game - even in 2019 the game looks BEAUTIFUL - new addition Nero is a solid character with a compelling moveset and his Devil Bringer - Special Edition adds up Lady, Trish and fan favorite Vergil - Dante is the most funny character in this iteration - Dante's weaponry and free style switching is insane - my lord the bosses are phenomenal - brilliant soundtrack THE BAD - so much backtracking it hurts - fighting bosses 3 times is annoying - not as challenging as DMC3 - why are there red orbs AND proud souls as currency? - Nero can be a little obnoxious - the stupid Dice puzzle everyone hates - Dante looks bored in this game No. 23 : JoJo's Bizarre Adventure : All-Star Battle Platinum Name : JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Hardest Trophy : TACOS! - Got hit by all battleground gimmicks not that hard, it's just counting the gimmicks that is " difficult" Difficulty : 1.5/10 Personal impression : 6.8/10 JJBA : All star battle is a fighting game based on the famous JoJo's Bizarre Adventure world written by Hirohiko Araki. It's one weird brawler with a typical anime cast. If you haven't read any of the Jojo manga, this game won't make much sense (it has Bizarre in title, remember that). The main story is confusing at best ,it tries to cover the events in the manga series but it doesn't do that good of a job. You can pick from 3 "classes" of characters - Hamon users/vampire , basic brawlers with the power of sun, they rely on punching stuff; Stand users - the most common of them - users that are "posessed" by ghosts that have various powers and properties ; Mounted fighters - basically stand users but with horses. The mechanics are allright I guess. Stand users are by far the most powerful (it makes sense , you basically throw a ghost at the opponent) while the Mounted fighters are the worst(sorry Johnny you suck ass). Platinum wise the game is stupidly easy, I doubt you even need a guide for this one. Sadly it's no " Heritage for the Future" ,a vastly superior old fighting game set during Jojo part 3. Honestly they should just bring that game to consoles It's way better. In conclusion just pick this game if you are a JoJo fan, else I doubt it would give you any reason to start reading the series. It's alright and kinda that's it. Pretty forgettable. THE GOOD: - a solid JoJo brawler - nice graphics - Dio's Roadroller is still the best THE BAD: - it fails to convey the true Jojo spirit - Johnny and Gyro from part 7 are useless No. 24 : Devil May Cry (PS4) Platinum Name : Platinum Trophy Hardest Trophy : Combustible - Finish the game on Dante Must Die mode - the hardest DMD mode in all series Difficulty : 6/10 - DMD mode will test your limits Personal impression : 7.8/10 Devil may cry is one of the first pioneers of "stylish" action games. Starting first as a new Resident Evil , the game took a swift turn in development, becoming one of the most known action hack/slash games franchise out there. You control Dante , a seemingly immortal Devil Hunter , while he is hired by a mysterious woman called Trish to investigate the mysterious Mallet Island. When I say "immortal" I mean only in the cutscenes. In this game you will die ALOT. The game (mainly due to its old age) is unforgiving and punishes your every mistake. However when you finally learn how to play the game it becomes a waltz with guns and swords. Perhaps the most iconic movement that Dante can do is launching an enemy in the air then holding it airborne while shooting with his guns. Same, Dante can remain in the air for longer periods of time while shooting his guns. It's physics defying and it's awesome! Also Dante can TAUNT an enemy which refills his demonic gauge(basically showing the middle finger just makes him more powerful ) Mallet island is filled with all sorts of demonic presences that want a piece of the famous devil hunter : From regular possessed puppets to bugs, death specters with scytes, some lizards and those goddamn Shadowcats ,they will pose a big challenge and should not be underestimated. Fortunately Dante can buy various healing items with red orbs (game's currency) , upgrade his weapons and unlock new movesets with the same orbs or even get green orbs that replenish health. Blue orbs increase the life bar and purple orbs increase the demonic bar. Dante himself can turn into a demon with his devil trigger ,he becomes stronger ,faster and regenerates health. Bosses are the cream and butter of the game. They are big, challenging and memorable. The first boss and the most recognizable must be Phantom, the big Lava Spider. After exchanging "pleasantries" with Dante he will roast your ass until you learn how to defeat him. Each boss is memorable, has a certain moveset and you must be at the top of your game to beat them. Sadly the game shows its age. The combat is not as refined as later entries, it has the horrible " drunk cameraman" syndrome ( camera tends to go bonkers) and the difficulty is absurd at times. Especially Dante Must Die mode is friggin unfair at points where you just get stunlocked to infinity. However this is a must-play game. If you wish to see which game started the whole " cool trenchcoat antihero dude " , this is the place to go! THE GOOD: - a timeless classic - Dante is a great character - The only DMC with a creepy atmosphere - Solid gameplay for the time - memorable bosses THE BAD: - the camera is the worst boss of the game - Mundus shooting section makes no sense - you stand no chance in DmD mode if you haven't collected everything in the previous runs No.25 : Devil May Cry 3(PS4) Platinum Name : Platinum Trophy Hardest Trophy : Hell Hath No Fury.. - Finish the game on Dante Must Die mode Difficulty : 6/10 - Although the controls are very refined, DMD mode will test your limits Personal impression : 10/10 Devil May Cry 3 is one of the best action games of all time. DMC3 being a prequel, you follow in the footsteps of a young Dante who tries to open up his personal demon hunting business. Everything changes when a mysterious man brings an invitation to Dante, followed by a horde of demons. The opening of the game is one of the most stylish openings ever made ( demon surfing and pizza eating y'all) The best part at this game is the combat : It has been refined to perfection. Accompanied by a killer soundtrack and beautiful graphics for their time, Dante can switch between 2 weapons at ease (Customized at checkpoints) and select one of the 4 starting styles : Trickster, Swordmaster, Royalguard and Gunslinger. He unlocks 2 more styles Quicksilver(slow time) and Doppelganger(copy) but the main ones are the starting 4. Dante has a complete arsenal to help him defeating the poor demons: from his trusty claymore Rebellion and his pair of guns Ebony and Ivory , to a shotgun, an ice nunchuck, light gauntlets and an electric guitar. Despite the goofy appearance, all of those weapons pack up mean punches. However THIS GAME IS NOT EASY! Despite Dante brushing off the attacks with ease in cutscenes , in real gameplay if you take the same approach you will be shish kebab'ed in seconds. You have to be both smart and stylish with the combat in order to kill the monsters and escape with your life while pulling that sick SSS rank. Spamming the guns won't work anymore (thanks DMC2) and you have to plan in advance which style and weaponry you wish to use. This is most obvious in dante must die mode , where even the most pathetic mob can beat you in 4 hits. The meat of the game are the bosses. Basically the whole trouble in DMC3 is started by Dante's twin brother Vergil who literally brings hell on earth. Dante has to defeat all sorts of massive bosses and his dear twin brother in order to save everyone and himself. And while bosses are a blast to fight, Vergil takes the prize for the most challenging and satisfying boss fight in videogames. Since he is Dante's Twin with a katana and just as deadly, the duel is a true bloodbath that will test everything you have learned in the game. Together with the combat, the story is surprisingly top notch for a DMC game. It's Dante's journey from inexperienced devil hunter with an attitude to a grown up man who can handle himself and discovers his human side. Especially his interactions with Lady (the female protagonist). Compared to DMC1 and DMC2 ,the tone is actually subtle and serious and you will be surprised how mature Dante can get considering he was surfing rockets 4 chapters before. The game also has a Bloody Palace mode , a gauntlet of sorts filled with various enemies to test your limits. It's a nice addition but it really was refined in DMC4 and onwards. The special edition lets you play as Vergil. Compared to Dante, Vergil feels slightly overpowered since he is already a full fledged demon. His arsenal consists of the Katana Yamato, the gauntlets Beowulf with a different moveset and the claymore Force Edge. The whole Vergil run feels like an easy mode compared to Dante but it's normal since it's not his story In conclusion, do play this game even if you are not a fan of the genre. It will punish you for mistakes but equally reward you for being badass. THE GOOD: - pretty much everything about the game from Dante, Vergil, Lady to bosses, gameplay soundtrack. The game is a masterpiece THE BAD: - Arkham boss fight is shameful. No. 26 : Devil May Cry 2 (PS4) Platinum Name : Platinum Trophy Hardest Trophy : Highest Honor - Get an S rank on any mission with Dante - due to the shitty controls it took me over 20 tries Difficulty : 2/10 , 8/10 if you have a NA version -> cheats are present except the NA version Personal impression : 2.6/10 This steaming pile is by far the worst action game I ever played. What makes it worse is that it has the name " Devil May Cry" . The reason it's so bad ain't the fact that it's broken or anything but its mediocrity is so bad it hurts my soul. The whole game can be passed by mashing square. That's it. Ebony n Ivory the whole game. There's no reason to use any other guns or even use the swords. There is no difference between swords even. If you had lots of movesets to unlock in DMC1 , here you have only one moveset for every single type of sword. You do have upgrades but really that only increases the damage of the upgaded weapon. Diversity 0. Gone are also the sweet bosses from DMC1. You have now some lazy ass failures with random latin name, raging from a stupid monkey, a sea plant and a...zombie chopper. I swear I am not making this up. The only notable bosses are the Minotaur thing and the final boss Argosax which is the only true high point of the series. A lava satan that switches between man and woman is a design that I praise. Storywise and characterwise , stuff is even worse. You have the typical oh-so-nasty company CEO who wants demonic power to rule the world. Dante is a cardboard man that only walks, says nothing and flips a stupid coin that makes him take decisions ( in the end the coin has the same side for...reasons , it makes no sense , it shows that Dante never chose anything in the first place). Lucia ,whose story (her being an agent of Arius the mentioned CEO) had lots of potential, ends up being just a lame ass chick with knives that falls for Dante. Honestly the whole game I was just groaning and spamming square so I can skip it already. Game having 2 campaings (one for Dante, one for Lucia) doesn't help at all. Level design is atrocious. I swear i have no idea where I was running. Everything is either cityscape or metal ... location. The world is so barren and full of dead times , you start wondering if you are actually playing DMC or Silent Hill really. The only good points of this game : The music can be really good sometimes. Dante's outfit is friggin fresh and on point (then you have the Diesel outfit....just no) and the final boss Argosax is quite well done. Other than that...nope that's all. I never want to see this game again. Ah yes and bloody palace is impossible without cheats. Ok that's all, bye everyone! THE GOOD: - Dante's outfit looks at its best - Final boss Argosax looks interesting - with a proper remaster, Lucia could be compelling THE BAD: - everything else about the game; it's a boring mess. Better avoid it No.27 : DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition Platinum Name : Platinum Trophy Hardest Trophy : Devils Never Cry - complete DMD mode with Dante Difficulty : 5/10 Personal Impression : 7/10 DmC Devil May Cry is a reboot of the series, developed by Ninja Theory. It was a very controversial title since the new Dante is an angsty emo kid with attitude issues and the story is subpar compared to the original series. However ,the game's combat is still top notch and truth be told and the game itself is not as bad as diehard fans would complain. Story begins with our protagonist Dante being attacked, as usual, by demonic cohorts sent by demon king Mundus ( Now a corporate magnate who owns the world by debt. More on that later). Unlike the other entries, the world is separated between the normal, real world, and Limbo, the hidden demonic world where demons influence all the habits and desires of mankind, manipulating humans with things like marketing , food and television. Honestly this outtake of the new "demonic" work is pretty interesting and fresh in my opinion, demons aren't the big ugly in-the-open monsters like before, they are more subtle. Mundus himself is an interesting character(even if he has some of the worst lines in the entire game). The game features a new take on the combat. Basically Dante has his default sword Rebellion that can act as a grappling hook for...some reason. The more interesting part is that now you can switch between Demonic and Angelic weapons, since Dante is a Nephilim (son of Demon Sparda and Angel Eva...yeah good story I know). Demonic Weapons are slow, high damage weapons and Angelic Weapons are faster, dish out less damage but are best for crowd control. Enemies also suffer this variation. While the regular grunts can be destroyed by any conventional means, some of them are color-coded (red enemies can be hurt better with demonic weapons and blue enemies are hurt by angelic ones). However in the Definitive Edition this mechanic was vastly improved. In the original game , hitting an enemy with the wrong weapon would reflect your attack and break your juggling combo. In the Definitive Edition ,you just do less damage. Sadly the bosses are a joke. The game is way easier than any other DMC game (except maybe DMC2). Some bosses, although interesting conceptually, spawn the worst dialogue existent ( The "fuck you" banter with Succubbus). However only one boss stands tall and that is Bob Barbas the anchor man, who in reality is a big electronic head that supervises the media. That boss fight is straight up 10/10. I wish to devote an entire paragraph to Dante's twin brother Vergil. Vergil is the worst character in the game. Gone are the days when Vergil was a cool ,calculated murder machine with a decent motivation. Now Vergil is a terrorist geek with a fedora that manipulates people, shoots a defenseless pregnant demoness through her stomach ( killing her spawn baby) and is a pure garbage person. Even his boss fight is pathetic compared to OG Vergil. He is abit redeemed in Vergil's Downfall DLC but not by much, only his gameplay is interesting. Other than that... a pretty mediocre game. What stands out is the gameplay which is as fresh as DMC4. Oh and music is kinda meh. Lots of yells. Music itself is good but it's awkwardly used in the game. Combichrist is a weird choice for a soundtrack. THE GOOD: - an interesting direction of the series, still a solid gameplay with several additions from Definitive version - Dante's weaponry is really interesting and fun to combine - Vergil's Downfall DLC is surprisingly fun; They even added up Vergil's movesets in DMC4SE and DMC5 THE BAD: - worst dialogue in a videogame ever - Mundus is laughable as a villain - Dante and Vergil are unlikeable No. 28 : Horizon Zero Dawn Platinum Name : All trophies obtained Hardest Trophy : Ultra Hard Completed - complete a new game+ on ultra hard mode Difficulty : 3/10 Personal impression : 9/10 Horizon Zero Dawn is a PS4 exclusive set in a post-post apocalyptic world where tribes of humans try to co-exist with the machine animals that are present in the world. You control Aloy , a young Nova girl who tries to uncover the mistery about her origins and about what happened before the apocalypse. This is one of the best PS4 exclusive games ever made out there. The world of Horizon despite being filled with robots, feels more alive than many of the sandboxes existent on the market. I trekked around in all corners of the map, from the calm forest of the Nora tribe to the sandy deserts, frozen wilds and metal ruins and I was in awe every single time. The graphics are excellent and the devs really outdid themselves with this game. The main focus of the game is Aloy. Although she is the typical "Fish out of the water" female protagonist, she really feels natural. It's rare that a female character is written so well in a work of fiction. She is initially an outcast from the Nora tribe and this is reflected in her behaviour with the others : Curious, brave, isn't afraid to speak her mind, doesn't care about customs and religion that much. She is the perfect protagonist in a world full of superstition and fear. Gameplaywise her main attributes are nimbleness and proficiency in archery. Aloy's primary weapons are a bow with various arrows and a spear. While the melee fighting is really barebones ( just a 3 hit combo and a heavy attack), her specialty is ranged fighting, which is only logical given the enemies she faces. Aloy has various bows with elemental damage, a tripcaster (for immobilizing the robots), a sling with bombs and a rudimentary machine gun. They can all be combined in order to get interesting effects. But perhaps the most useful tool in Aloy's pack is the Focus : a scanner object that allows the girl to scan for weaknesses in machines and read the Old World data logs. It works like a Detective Mode in Batman Arkham series and it is VERY useful. Enemies are all incredibly varied and dangerous. From regular raptor-like robots that act like scouts, to mecha horses, reindeers, crocodiles and later on a massive T-Rex with disc launchers and Thunderbirds. All of them have specific weaknesses that must be exploited : For example the Thunderjaw's disc launcher is very dangerous and damaging, but with a well placed sonic arrow you can kick down that weapon and use it yourself. Horizon Zero Dawn is full of these moments. The story is again one of the strong points of the game. Every single moment of the game,as random as it sounds (even the T-Rex enemies) are explained in detail in story through various logs and mementos. Sadly the present story (state of the tribes) is rather uninteresting. I didn't care much about the politics about the Nora and Carja, I just wanted to find out more about what caused the apocalypse. Horizon Zero Dawn also has a DLC called Frozen Wilds. It is an end-game area placed in the north in the Banuk settlements, where Aloy needs to uncover yet another mysteries all while freezing in the deep blizzards. It's one gorgeous DLC but make sure to be prepared before venturing there. Also it's highly recommended to play the DLC AFTER you finish the main game story, since the DLC has elements that could spoil the story for you if you haven't finished the main game. Trophywise the game is pretty simple. One mention is playing through NG+ at Ultra Hard setting. It all depends on your initial playthrough : if you collected the weaver armor and have a max bow and sling with the best coils on it, then this run shouldn't take you more than 3 hours and will be a walk in the park. If your build is flimsy however, it will be a major pain especially the last battle when you have to fight a horde of robot enemies. Make sure to prepare thoroughly before attempting NG+. In conclusion ,Horizon Zero Dawn is a must play and it's one of my favorite games played so far. THE GOOD: - beautiful world - a breath of fresh air in the world of PS4 - Aloy is a fun character to follow - the pre-apocalypse lore is madly interesting - smart, dangerous opponents - the DLC itself is brilliant THE BAD: - post-apocalyptic world is uninteresting - game can get boring in the later half - final boss is stupid No. 29 : Batman Arkham Asylum (PS4) Platinum Name : Platinum Trophy Hardest Trophy : Freeflow Gold - achieve 24 medals on combat challenges - by far the combat challenges are the hardest in this game. Difficulty : 5/10 Personal impression : 8/10 Batman Arkham Asylum is the first GOOD batman game and the first good superhero game actually. As Batman, while delivering Joker to Arkham Asylum, you get trapped yourself while Joker throws a riot and releases all inmates. As usual, objective is simple : KA-POW the bad guys and get Joker under the bars. This is the game that launched the Arkham series, mainly because of gameplay : Batman has perfect controls, the combat is smooth , based on free-flow, jumping from enemy to enemy and comboing everyone. On the flipside, the stealth section is brilliant, Batman being able to use the environment to his advantage in order to hunt the unsuspecting enemies. You have a wide array of tools at your disposal, ranging from Batarangs, a batclaw and explosive gel. The enemies are also faithful to their DC material : Bane is as juiced as ever, Poison Ivy is deadly with her plants, Killer Croc will hunt you down in one of the creepiest level in the game and Joker is ...well Joker. Sadly the final fight against Joker is one of the only dissapointing moments in the game. It fell flat on its butt. When not in combat, Batman has to solve various mysteries : the "riddles" set by his enemy The Riddler and finding all the hidden tombstones left by the spirit of Arkham. For this, Batman has the so called "Detective Mode" where he enters in a scanner mode which allows him to analyze every clue and path available. There are also challenges in the game : Freeflow challenges based on combat, you receive medals according to the combo number and Predator challenges, defeating enemies under certain conditions. Predator challenges I found to be pretty fun, however Freeflow ones can be infuriating at points because the tracking mechanic is at times broken, making you to miss a hit and ruin your combo. With practice however they are doable. As the first good superhero game in recent years, I strongly recommend giving this game a go. THE GOOD: - finally, a GOOD superhero game - combat is excellent - memorable bosses worthy of Batman lore - Batman is not an invincible destruction machine, both stealth and combat sections are brilliant THE BAD: - my god the challenges are horrible - the final fight is stupid No. 30 : The Bard's Tale Platinum Name : Master Bard Hardest Trophy : Token Trove - collect all tokens Difficulty : 3/10 - even on Olde School Bard , the game is pretty simple Personal impression : 8.6/10 And now, for my fabled 30th milestone, it's Bard's Tale - now Remastered and Resnarkled. The Bard's Tale is an old videogame from 2004 now brought back on PS4. It's both a classic RPG AND the deconstruction of the RPG genre. You control your hero named simply The Bard and guide his steps to the path of fame, glory, boobs and lots of drinking. This game is a masterpiece. It has the flavor of a Mel Brooks movie. The jokes are many and well thought, there's not a moment of boredom in this game. The Bard (voiced by Carey Elwes, you might know him from Princess Bride or Robin Hood Men in Tights, a master comedy actor) is exactly what you'd expect he would be in a D&D game gone terribly right : Snarky, lazy, a womanizer, quick wit and sharp tongue and of course, his trustful lute. Accompanying him is a trusty dog found randomly in the first map and the Narrator, voiced by the late Tony Jay. You can only imagine the banter and the 4th wall breaking that has place in this game. Of course, all the adventure happens in a scottish/irish setting, all with their own folklore (Nuckelavee) that most of the time hinder the Bard on his quest to save Princess Caleigh and get her treasure and " treasures". A special mention goes to the songs in this game. Whoever wrote them was a genius : From the " It's bad luck to be you " sung by a trio of goblins every time you find a so-called "chosen one" (who wasn't that chosen in the first place), the "Beer Beer Beer " song and the "Nuckelavee one". All of them you can hear in various taverns , where the Bard find occasional rumors, gets drunk and receives boosts or saves damzels from scary rats. The gameplay is really barebones : you get attribute points at each 2 levels, you have the obvious 1handed, 2handed, mace and bow (Bow is a really OP weapon in this game). But none of these matter compared to the true power of a Bard : Its songs. The Bard is a sort of "summoner" who can call various summons through his magical lute. He finds songs throughout the world and upgrades his menagerie of witty fighters and also his lute ( I recommend the Shadowaxe, Bard turns into a Medieval Slash from Guns n' Roses). Of course, with such an old game, there are some minor issues. Most summons have the bad habit to get stuck in the map, encountering a body of water really ruins the framerate and at some portions of the game the difficulty is straight up unfair (escort mission in the Viking infested village was a pain). Also there is only one trophy that might be annoying to get : the tokens trophy. Without a guide , you might select the wrong option or reward and miss out the tokens. Apart from that, Bard's Tale is a must if you love good comedy and classic RPG. Just never trust a happy mob with pitchforks and torches that are way too eager to welcome you in their village! THE GOOD - the best kind of humor in a videogame - Scottish/ Irish influences are very well depicted - The Bard voiced by Carey Elwes is amazing THE BAD - god have mercy on you if you sit near a body of water; framerate drops are insane - the game overstays its welcome ; way too long - barebones RPG, not much to develop there 31-40 Spoiler No.31 : Assassin's Creed Rogue (PS3) SPECIAL MENTION : Due to the binge that led to the following platinuming of Assassin's Creed in order, I will describe my impressions in more detail in entry 36. No. 32 : Assassin's Creed 2 (PS4) Platinum Name : Master Assassin Hardest Trophy : In Memory of Petruccio - collect all the feathers Difficulty : 3/10 Personal Impression : 8.8/10 Story time : I am a big Assassin's Creed fan. During autumn 2018 I have been to a trip to Rome. That city impressed me so much it convinced me to platinum all the series ( I am 2 games short from that goal). Since sadly AC1 doesn't have a trophy list (yet) I decided to start with arguably one of the best assassin's creed ever made. In AC2 you take control of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, a brash youngster who is forced to take the mantle of assassins after his family was betrayed and executed. You follow a path of revenge and self-discovery in the beautifully recreated Renaissance Italy. To keep it really simple : You - Assassin must defeat them - Templars. Of course all this happens in the genetic memories of Desmond Miles, our contemporary protagonist. He's the least interesting part of the story so yep moving on. The game suffered a massive improvement compared to its predecessor AC1. Controls are smoother, there are various ways to assassinate targets, you have a base, Villa Monteriggioni that brings you the much needed money for weapons, armor, pouches and paintings. Free running is way more responsive now ( although Ezio still tends to be jumping like a madman when vaulting from a wall). Apart from some annoying race missions, I had no issue with the game. The graphics are a straight 10/10. Ok maybe not by today's standards (year 2019) but at that time , the recreation was very faithful : From the gorgeous Florence, to the hills of Tuscany, marshes of Forli and of course La Bella Venezia, those representations are gorgeous and left me awestruck at the time of playing. Venice especially with its numerous canals and gondolas (the Venice Carnival mission was a blast). Each area is accompanied by the wonderful soundtrack of Jesper Kyd. I mean come on, who didn't get goosebumps when hearing Ezio's Family theme for the first time(the soundtrack that became a staple to the series). Game wouldn't be half as good without the main man Ezio. Ezio is one of the best made characters of videogames : Brash, impulsive, a womanizer yet serious when needed and reliable. His character development in AC2 and later entries is something I rarely see in videogames. One major point is his friendship with Leonardo DaVinci. Let me tell you, that's one of the best bromances out there. It's delightful to see Leonardo's crazy inventions paired with Ezio's carelessness. The only part I felt the game is abit shaky is in the main plot. Ezio kills his target just to find a bigger plot that leads to an even bigger plot. The main villain Rodrigo Borgia kinda feels out of place (although his Pope speech was A+, I will admit). I didn't have the "wow what a great villain" vibe that I received from Al Mualim in the first game. That would change in Brotherhood though, stay tuned for more! Also Desmond & Crew was pretty bland as usual. Special good mention : Subject 16 puzzles. MAN THEY WERE CREEPY. MAN THEY WERE FUCKING AWESOME. I don't know how, Ubisoft created some crazy tinfoil conspiracy about Templars and Assassins and the interpretation in AC2 gave me shivers. All the major events were reimagined with templars, assassins and Pieces of Eden (powerful McGuffin tools). Just amazing! Special bad mention : Platinumwise, game is pretty chill. One trophy is awfully retarded though : In the Memory of Petruccio. You have to collect a total of 100 feathers slapped around the map with no in-game purchasable map available! You have to either use a guide or stumble across km of buildings just to find some sparkly shit. Paired with the famous " whoops I accidentally glitched" part of Ubisoft, that's ugly. Conclusion : Maybe AC2 ain't the best AC game anymore. But you can be damn sure it's one of the best games ever made. Everyone should give it a try at least once. No. 33 : Assassin's Creed Brotherhood(PS4) Platinum Name : Julius Caesar Hardest Trophy : Capture the Flag - remove all Borgia Flags dumb feathers 2.0 Difficulty : 4/10 Personal Impression : 8.6/10 I will be honest, this is and most likely forever be my favorite AC game. It covers the life of Ezio in Roma, trying to rebuild the Creed and have a more direct fight against the Borgia oppressors. Although the game being resumed to only one area, Rome is BIG. Rome is imposing. ROME IS GREAT! Case and point: I could use past AC Brotherhood experience to get around the city. My god Ubisoft how cool you used to be. The premise of the game: While Ezio was chilling in his villa, after NOT KILLING Rodrigo Borgia (really what was he expecting it will happen?), the whole area gets assaulted by the papal army led by Rodrigo's son Cesare. Ezio loses his villa and uncle Mario and is forced to flee to Rome. In the great city he has to revive a stagnant brotherhood of assassins and take arms against the Borgias. The biggest switch in tone for me was the new villain Cesare. Opposed to the cool and calculated Rodrigo, Cesare is a madman who just wants power. The difference from other twirly moustache evil warlords? He actually is effective. It takes Ezio a great deal of planning and assassinating to even get close to be a threat to Cesare. Definetly a better villain than his father Rodrigo. Mechanics were revamped and now are more responsive. Ezio doesn't jump like a moron anymore, free running is WAY BETTER and the options are more diverse. Ezio has a wider array of tools at his disposals , including an overpowered Crossbow (really it overshadows the hidden gun) and his trusty assassins apprentices to do some shish kebab-ing for him. Three brand new mechanics were included in Brotherhood : City restoration ( Ezio can renovate buildings with money and restore Rome to its former glory), Assassins recruitment (as a Master Assassin, Ezio recruits those who are oppressed and trains them into the techniques of the assassins) and side-constraints. The side-mission constraints are maybe the most important addition, they have plagued each AC game up until Origins(they removed them in Origins). Some of them are good while others...ugh. For a 100% sync (and the shiny plat ofc) you need to fulfill all objectives, not just the main ones. However ,there is a special set of sidequests : Da Vinci's inventions. Now DaVinci is forced to work for the Borgias and he secretly asks Ezio to destroy his war machines. From a flying bomber, to a Gondola with ancient rocket launchers and the famous Tank mission, all of them are by far the most interesting part of the game. Real life story... Eh Desmond tries to find the piece of eden. There's a sudden switch at the end where Spoiler he kills his love interest Lucy and enters into a coma, it is linked in the other entry Revelations. but apart from that again, not worth mentioning. The truly daunting part...Feather *ahem* Borgia Flag collections. You have roughly 104 of them I believe, some are located in Romulus Lairs ( special dungeons that give you keys for the mandatory OP armor in each AC game). They are just as annoying as regular feathers with a notable exception : If the last Borgia Flags are in the lairs, they will GLITCH! I can't express how furious I was when I saw that my whole progress went bonkers because the trophy wouldn't pop, had to restart the entire game. Other than that, Brotherhood is my to-go AC game. It has it all. No. 34 : Assassin's Creed Revelations(PS4) Platinum Name : The Conqueror Hardest Trophy : Impress Warren Vidic DLC trophy, do one retarded First Person Platform section without dying, VERY frustrating Difficulty : 5/10 just because of the Hardest Trophy Personal Impression : 7/10 Revelations is the third and final part of Ezio's Saga, where Ezio goes to study the origins of the creed in Constantinopole and follow in the footsteps of the previous Grand Master Assassin Extraordinaire Altair. Of course Ezio has to struggle with Templars all while training the new Constantinopole section of Assassins. Truth be told, I didn't enjoy this game. For the good points: The story is really really good. Ezio in his late age is more charming than ever, being charismatic and just plain fun. This is best seen in his relationships with both the bookkeeper Sofia Sartor, the Ottoman mentor Yusuf and the young prince Suleyman ( who will later turn into a Mangificent man, history jokes ftw). Also the completion of Altair's story (accessed through memory discs) is really awesome, Altair having some of the best missions in the entire game. I can't complain at all about the story, it's a great 10/10. Combat and parkour has been vastly improved. Ezio has now access to a hookblade that gives him several new options. Not only he can climb buildings even faster now, he can also glide on wires and do several finishing moves on the poor guards. I liked the hookblade, too bad it was never implemented again. Seems the Ottomans really loved their technology. However for me that wasn't enough. I really didn't like Constantinopole. It looked...bad. Also the graphics engine suffered some changes, I straight up didn't like exploring around. Even Hagia Sophia wasn't that impressing, I expected...more. Several implemented modes were also dissapointing and straight up annoying: The bombs system was underwhelming, you really only needed smoke and damaging bombs. Piri Reis was promised to be a very quirky character who would replace Leonardo Da Vinci but instead he was just plain irritating. And also, who could forget, the stupid TOWER DEFENSE GAME. Holy hell that's the worst tower defense ever. I only ever played one tower defense (the mandatory tutorial one) and replayed it until I got all trophies. After that I never touched that crap again. The main fight against templars is meh-er than ever. Now the Byzantines are the bad guys for...reasons. The bad guy is a generic good guy that turns out to be evil (wow shocker). However since Ezio's journey is focused on self-discover the lack of a compelling villain can be excused. Real life story can't be excused either. Due to the events of Brotherhood, Desmond is mentally "trapped" in some sort of Limbo where he finds the former subject 16 Clay Kaczmarek. Remember how fun the "Truth puzzles" were in previous games? Well Clay left them around and turns out he's just a boring dude. Why did they ruin his story I don't know, good job Ubisoft. Desmond himself looks like he is selling bananas on the street, he has some...homeless appearance. However the most infuriating part of the game was the DLC. You play as Clay in a first person setting where he relives his memories inside the animus. The whole DLC is a platformer section that is straight up boring and broken. One trophy in particular, "Impress Warren Vidic", forces you to go the whole level without dying once. That level is full of lasers and traps and if you die, back to the beginning of the level. I can't count the number of times I died because the stupid controls. It really got my nerves. In conclusion, this game could have been so much more. I know people praise it but for me it was a major letdown. At least it led up to the events in AC3 which I will cover later on. Boy that game was a lifechanger. No. 35 : Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag - PS4 +100% DLC Platinum Name : Prizes, Plunder and Adventure Hardest trophy : Main game - Commited To The Cause - reach level 55 in multiplayer - hardest = try not to die out of boredom while farming for Wolfpack mode DLC and the game overall - Sacred Land - be the MVP with Jaguar in domination hardest = Ubisoft Servers are your most dreaded enemy for this crap trophy. Even with boosting it's incredibly stupid to connect. Difficulty : 4/10 - connectivity issue, game itself is really easy Personal Impression : 8.6/10 I have the same description for both PS4 and PS3 entries because my god am I lazy. Since the versions are virtually the same (PS4 looks abit shinier), here we go: Assassin's Creed 4 takes place into the Golden Age of Pirates. Through the beautiful Abstergo Animus project, you are now into the salty shoes of Edward Kenway, a Welshman trying to find his luck and wealth in the Caribbeans. He is the father of Haytham and grandfather of Connor from AC3 if you wonder why the same family name. After a maelstrom and a pirate battle, he "borrows" the clothes of a traitorous assassin suddenly turned dead and gets entangled into the eternal Templar/Assassin world. Graphically, this game was wonderful at its time ,and holds up pretty decent even today. The Caribbeans are beautifully made ( of course, Ubisoft did a wonderful job here). You get everything you would expect : Blue sea, Lustrous islands, thick dangerous jungles, Mayan Ruins and more. Even the underwater sections , levels that are normally dreaded in videogames, are a blast to explore. The sealife is as lively as ever. My favourite sections were through the Mayan Ruins that were retaken by the Jungle. Also the most watery water I have seen in a while! In terms of sound Black Flag doesn't dissapoint. Although it doesn't contain the famous Ezio's Family theme remixed, its soundtrack is really memorable. It's what you would expect of a pirate flick and even more, reminiscent of Pirates of the Caribbean. Jesper Kyd doesn't appear here , the composer now is Brian Tyler ( he also did the Far Cry 3 soundtrack). The most memorable section though are the Sea Shanties that you can find through the game. It's a blast to go around sailing and your sailors to sing to their heart content. Speaking of sailing, this game has the best naval combat ever made in a videogame. Ubisoft really improved upon the AC3 naval combat and now you can upgrade your ship with all kind of ammunition, cannons and sails to become the most respectable pirate around there. In the beginning you start with a mere treebark with sails that can barely spit 3 cannonballs, but you can end up with a behemoth that can pulverize entire fortifications and the biggest of the Men O' War trekking the seas. For the best of the best there are 4 special naval missions where your skills as a sailor and pirate are tested to their utmost limit . A word of warning though : Don't go unprepared , those missions are brutal. The land missions are your typical Assassin missions , improved. You sneak , you stab , you can use up to 4 pistols to shoot the unfortunate enemies (gun akimbo), you have 2 swords and a blowdart pipe for the more sneaky approach. Not much to cover here , except that the sneaking missions are abit more refined than in AC3. You can sneak through vegetations ,run across trees and whistle ( best mechanic ever) to attract the enemies. Storywise, the game is split into two parts : the present time and the past time. The present time is boring and stupid (Desmond won't appear anymore kids, sorry) and the whole templar plot is stupid so I will ignore that one. The past time with the life of Edward however is surprisingly good. You follow Edward while he turns from a greedy pirate who cares only from himself to a respectable assassin with a moral code. The side characters are also enjoyable , most notable being Blackbeard ( you know who that is ) and his retold story and Adewale, the freed slave turned quartermaster for Edward's ship. The interaction between them is believable and enjoyable. Adewale's story is covered in the DLC Freedom Cry, which while pretty decent, sadly doesn't live up to the standards of the main game. Sadly the villains are pretty forgettable. The main Templar Villain I have to google his name just to remember who the hell he is (Torres de lalala) and his target is as usual - find Old Civilisation artefact for world control. Whoopdedoo. Rodrigo and Cesare Borgia were more compelling. As final touch, the Multiplayer . In essence and theory ,the multiplayer is pretty fun. Lots of modes , lots of perks, modes ranging from assassinations to capture the flag and domination. In practice however the multiplayer is horrendous. First thing first, Ubisoft sucks at multiplayer games. Good ideas, shit implementation , aka potato servers. I don't know how they manage it, they have only ONE good server based game ( ghost recon) and the rest are subpar. The mechanics with hiding and multipliers are good in theory but sadly in practice everyone just rushes for the targets so tactics are thrown out the window. Also in the hunt for platinum there are some of the grindiest trophies ever. Not only you have to reach level 55 but also you need to win a complete set of Domination while being nr 1 WHILE being the Jaguar ( a character). Without boosting good luck getting that one Apart from minor glitches ( boats getting stuck into the land) , the game is a proud member of the AC franchise. Perhaps one of the best releases of the series. Definetly get this game , you won't regret it! (just make sure to ignore the present time plot and the fact that it has Assassins in the title ). No. 36 : Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered(PS4) Platinum Name : Platinum Trophy Hardest Trophy : Achieve Full Synchronization Difficulty : 2/10 - one of the easiest AC games Personal Impression : 8.4/10 Difficulty : 2/10 - one of the easiest AC games Personal Impression : 8.4/10 Coming as a shocker, this is another of my most favorite AC games out there. In Rogue you are following the events of Shay Cormac, an Assassin who lost faith in the Brotherhood and defected to the Templar cause. Rogue is an unique beast of itself. It was launched together with AC Unity and it had to live in its shadow but in my opinion, this game is better in every way. Even though the game is virtually the same as Black Flag (feels like a DLC more than a stand alone game), it has many traits that make it unique and in some parts improves over Black Flag. For starters, the main character himself - Shay. Now being a templar, he gets a way cooler outfit and now has to deal with his brother assassins. That means surviving ambushes, wiping out Assassin Lairs and bombarding forts under Assassin Control. The action is set in the North Atlantic and Arctic area, Ubisoft replacing the lush vegetation and the Caribbean sun for the cold winds and the icebergs of the Arctic. Personally I prefer this since you can feel the cold chilling through the bones of the sailors. Naval combat has been greatly improved, with additions like the Puckle Gun( Swivel gun with a faster rate of fire) and the new ice cutter ram. Somehow the Morrigan controls way better than the Jackdaw and at the end of the day it's a way sturdier ship. Ground combat is basically the same as in AC4 with a slight improvement : The Air Gun, which replaces the blowdart, giving you various ways to approach your enemies. It also can be improved with a grenade launcher, reminiscent of the Revelations bombs but now being actually useful. The story itself is...ok, so to speak. It feels rushed and Shay can be annoying( I make my own luck phrase repeated ad nauseaum) but overall it's decent. It shows the other side of the coin, how Assassins aren't always right, and also shows how the Colonial Assassins under Achilles fell and went almost eradicated. Haytham also appears in this game and he is as wonderful as ever. Also the linking to Unity's beginning is very well made, what's mildly annoying is that Shay is virtually never mentioned anymore in any other game. Present time doesn't get any more interesting, except one character: Juhani Otso Berg, a templar master who is a real threat and it's actually intimidating. I liked his character. There's nothing much to say about the difficulty. It can get abit boring, collecting everything in the game. However, with a relaxed playstyle and enjoying the Atlantic, this game is a must play for whoever loves this franchise. No. 37 : Assassin's Creed Unity Platinum Name : Master Assassin Hardest Trophy : Curiosity - open all friggin 294 chests in the game Difficulty : 5/10 Personal Impression : 7.6/10 AC Unity is a special beast in the universe of Assassin's Creed. It became infamous for the amount of glitches it had at launch, compared to the hype it got around. Of course, since that time, the game got patched alot and now it's a decent enjoyable experience. This time, you control Arno Dorian during the French Revolution. I have to say, Ubisoft outdid itself with the new graphic engine : Smooth textures, lots of NPC's at once, improved freerunning, mechanically it's a superior Assassins game. However... I believe it's also one of the weaker entries in the franchise. Arno is a really weak protagonist ( most of the times stuff would work just awesome if he just listened), his relationship with Elise doesn't work really well, most missions make no sense and the villain...oh dear the villain is horrible. I think he is the actual worst villain in the series (another goddamn Sage, I am sick of them!). Best guy in the game Pierre Bellec ends up being just like Vaas in Far Cry 3 - heavily underused. What I found amusing is that Arno is surprisingly human : whenever he faces a serious issue, off to the bottles with him! he gets piss drunk .I find it hilarious because he is not a superman eliberator like Ezio or Connor, he's just a dude in a shirt with a family issue. The combat became quite complicated. Now you have to waltz and time your parries, you can't use a one-button kill anymore. I personally liked that, especially the fact that the guards are VERY vicious in pursuing you. I felt more like an assassin in this game than the others. Sadly, the smoke bombs are still overpowered and at the end of the game you can carry so many smoke bombs you can clean up the entire map without breaking a sweat. There's 2 major things that I hated at this game : the Co-op missions and the collectibles. Co-op missions...I preferred to do them alone. Sure they are way harder to pull (see the Tournament one) but it's preferrable to the horrendous way a co-op can end. Synchronization without a microphone is pretty much impossible in this game. But this pales in comparison to the number of utter BULLSHIT you have to collect in this game. So many cockades, chests, side missions and so on, it's mind numbing. By far the most ridiculous trophy is Curiosity, collecting 294 chests is insane ( mind you, you have to have lockpick skill at level 3 to access all locations!). I really needed lots of willpower to struggle through that madness. The DLC isn't much better. The Franciade is a cesspool, Arno is a fully depressed drunkard here, the plot makes no sense and you have the most stupid weapon a STEALTHY assassin could carry : A guillotine gun. Basically a huge axe with a cannon attached. Ridiculous! I don't really feel like talking about this game every time it is being brought up. It's a decent game but it's drawn back by a weak story and some stupid mechanics. Here's where Ubisoft took a nosedive in quality. At least the French Revolution is represented accurately! No. 38 : Prince of Persia : The Sands of Time Platinum Name : Prince of Persia Hardest Trophy : Game Master - complete the game rewinding less than 20 times Difficulty : 4/10 Personal Impression : 9.6 / 10 Prince of Persia Sands of Time is a reboot of the series Prince of Persia, done by Ubisoft and Jordan Mechner. It's the first part of a now-legendary trilogy and in my opinion it's the best out of the three. The story follows the adventures of a hero called simply The Prince. During the invasion of persian armies of the city of Azad, the Prince finds a mythical dagger which can control time. Of course, as a typical classical 1001 arabian nights story, with the involvement of a treacherous vizier, the Prince accidentally releases the Sands of Time which turns everyone into sand monsters. Prince must undo his mistakes with the help of the enemy maharaja's daughter, Farah. Remember her, she's vital in the story. This game is full atmosphere. As mentioned, game is heavily inspired from the Arabian Nights stories. That involves arabic themes, lots of sparkly nights, exotic beasts and plants. Exploring Azad is really exciting, game being a marvel at its time. Of course, this game would not be anything without the main protagonist the Prince. He starts as a young foolish warrior who is lured by treasures and glory. During his adventure and interaction with Farah he grows to be a more mature person. He is also really witty and easy for puzzle solving. Honestly, he really is a compelling main character. Gameplaywise, this game is basically parkour with swords. This is the main inspiration of that behemoth ass franchise Assassin's Creed. The Prince can swing on the poles, run on walls, vault over enemies with a dexterity comparable of that of a monkey. However, this is also the game's slightly bad part : Enemy fights become repetitive, compared to the puzzles who become gradually more challenging and fun to do. But the most interesting mechanic is the time ability control : The Prince can rewind time up to 8 seconds, slow down time, completely freeze enemies into place, fast forward and have "visions" regarding next puzzles (also acting as save points). At the time, this was one sick game mechanic, really impressive (imagine how tough is to rewind a certain part of a game). This is a beautiful start of a franchise which wasn't surpassed by any other game that followed. No.39 : Prince of Persia : The Forgotten Sands Platinum Name : Sand Master Hardest Trophy : Invincible - Defeat Ratash without taking damage Difficulty : 2.5/10 Personal Impression : 7.2/10 Forgotten Sands is the final entry of the Prince of Persia franchise, it serves as a "filler " between Sands of Time and Warrior Within. The Prince visits his brother's kingdom during a siege, who unleashes the hidden Army of Solomon in order to win the battle. The Prince now struggles to contain the army with the help of the Djinn Razia. This game wasn't very well received at launch ( understandable, it smells of cash grab) but personally I had quite some fun with it. Graphics are improved(although the prince looks abit..weird) and the location looks pretty decent. The problem appears in how forgettable and utterly lazy the game is. Forgotten Sands straight up copy/pasted the upgrade system and combat from God of War(the killed enemies even drop red orbs now). The prince doesn't rely on the swift acrobatic slashes like before, now everything turned into a hack n slash fest where you are assaulted by a ton of mindless zombies. However even with the increased number of enemies, the game is ridiculously easy even on higher difficulty levels. Everything is forgettable really : From Malik , Prince's brother, to Razia the Djinn, I struggle to remember which character did which. However there are some mechanics that were added who work very well in this game. The prince has now various powerups to select from (elemental attacks and defense) but the most important and fun is the ability to freeze water. By freezing and releasing water at the precise points, the game gives way to some very interesting puzzles. It is the most fun part of the game and I liked to see that developers went full creative with the platforming section. Added with the fact that the Prince is as charming and as witty as he was in Sands of Time, this managed to keep me interested the whole playthrough. Forgotten Sands isn't a bad game per se, but it's so unimportant to the series it might as well remain Forgotten. No. 40 : Prince of Persia: Warrior Within Platinum Name : Warrior Within Hardest Trophy : Hero - Complete the game on Hard difficulty Difficulty : 4.5/10 Personal impression : 8.6/10 And for fabled number 40 my pick is Warrior Within. Set 7 years after the events of Sands of Time, now the Prince is haunted by an immortal beast called the Dahaka due to his tampering with the sands of time. The Prince, now a gruff depressive merciless warrior, travels to the Island of time to find the Empress and stop the Sands from being created in the past. Warrior Within is a way darker game compared to its predecessor Sands of Time. Now since the Prince is constantly chased, he is more of an anti-hero. Brutal, tired, constantly on the run, he stops at nothing from reaching its target. Pair this with the metal soundtrack and you get one edgy game. Personally, although I preferred the "Arabian Nights" settings in SoT, the edginess doesn't particularly bother me in WW. A huge improvement was in the combat department. In SoT, the combat was pretty basic and didn't have much variety. But in WW, now the prince can dual wield (main weapon and secondary), he has way more moves compared to the first game and he is way more vicious ( decapitating and splitting enemies into half). The Island of Time is also very impressive visually. You must travel back and forth through time portals, that modify the entire terrain. The past presents the Island in its full glory, while the present everything is in ruins and on the verge of collapsing. One minor issue might be that the game is way too " brown" , the colour palette is suffering abit. The game also features bosses in the traditional sense : with health bars and such. Here I can safely say that Warrior Within is the most challenging of the bunch, the bosses are no joke! Especially on hard difficulty, they really can punish you big time if you don't learn their patterns. The major drop in quality in my opinion is in the story department. Even though the Prince has reasons to be desperate, his means to solve the issues are idiotic. Plus, time travelling is really poorly approached and in most of the times it makes no sense. His relationship with Kaileena feels like a second rate softcore porn and there's no emotional attachment to the character. The only redeeming factor is that there are 2 endings : a normal bad one and the secret good one, unlocked after getting all water upgrades. The ending is really awesome and links to the next installment Two Thrones beautifully. What really bummed me out is the utter laziness of the porting of this jewel of the game. In all honesty I played this game for trophies only on PS3 but the game is bugged as hell, resolutions are all over the place, several crashes and many more issues that made me pull my hair off. If you wish the full Warrior Within experience, do yourself a favour and pick the PC version, it's by far the best one. Apart from that, Warrior Within is a great game, with an impressive legacy and one badass main character. Don't miss it out! 41-50 Spoiler #No.41 : Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones Platinum Name : Two Thrones Hardest Trophy : Sand Snake - complete the game without dying - BUGGED. More annoying than difficult. Difficulty : 4/10 Personal Impression : 8.6/10 The final entry in the Prince of Persia trilogy, Two Thrones follows the Prince in his last efforts to finally found peace and rest after all his crazy adventures. He arrives at his home Babylon just to find it sieged by his mortal enemy, the Vizier from Sands of Time, now resurrected because of the Prince's tampering with the sands of time in Warrior Within. The Vizier, ever hungry for power, captures Kaileena and stabs her with the dagger of time, infecting everyone in the kingdom with the Sands of Time (again) and transforming himself into a god. Even the Prince is infected, being occasionally posessed by his evil alter-ego. Now the Prince has to rescue his city and his people and stop the Vizier once and for all. Two Thrones does not dissapoint. Done with the Dahaka, now the Prince is clearer and more cheerful (or at least not as emo as in warrior within). His main weapon is the Dagger of Time (which now acts like a warrior within weapon) and his secondary is whatever he finds on the floor or from dead enemies. Time powers are back, nothing to mention there. Also his long time ally Farah is back in the game, and it's the delight to see the Prince trying to rekindle their relationship and trust again (of course, since the Prince tampered with the Sands, Farah has no idea who he is). The game introduces a new mechanic, where you can stealth kill the enemies. Although you can approach the enemies the same old fashion way, this mechanic while quite useless is ultimately very fun, if you try to challenge yourself from not being detected. Also new parkour elements were added : The Prince can now stab special slabs of stones with the dagger, allowing for vertical mobility, he can jump from wall trampolines ( how does that even work? ) and climb horizontal poles. This gives way to even more parkour puzzles, the thing the series is best at. The most interesting mechanic is the Dark prince transformation. At certain points, the Prince's alter ego surfaces, wielding the knife and Daggertail, his chain. The Dark Prince is the protagonist's manifestation of all insecurities and anger that he accumulated during his past adventures therefore he is way stronger but also way more darker in nature. However, he has to constantly replenish his health with Sand else he will die. The prince will revert to normal if he touches a body of water. Sadly the game suffers from some issues. Firstly, the graphics are worse than in Warrior Within. Models have gloves instead of hands, the hair clips through the bodies and some enemies glitch through the land. There are some sound issues here and there and the model's movement feel weird. The bosses went full puzzle mode and sadly they are not as interesting as before. Even worse, just like the previous games, the porting is horrible on the PS3. Even worse, the Sand Snake trophy is constantly bugged, not unlocking even if you did not die even once. However, as mentioned, this is a fine ending to the series and one you should try. Moreso, the final credits song is top quality #No. 42: Prince of Persia Platinum Name: Master Hardest Trophy : Born Dead (DLC) - Kill all enemies before they spawn Difficulty : 2/10 , 4/10(with DLC) Personal Impression : 7.6/10 Prince of Persia is the 2008 reboot of the beloved franchise. Here, the Prince stumbles across a princess (named Elika) and reluctantly tries to stop the Persian god Ahriman from taking over the world. This game suffered a handful of upgrades. The graphics used are cel-shading which made the game BEAUTIFUL looking. The platforming section has been greatly improved, now the Prince has even more ways to climb and roll around and the overall atmosphere of the game is cheerful and colorful. Cleaning up zones controlled by Ahriman (covered by tar and oil) are catching life and color and the whole atmosphere is changing. However, this game has one fatal flaw : it is BORING! The Prince honestly is a moron. I hate how he always try to sound smart and spits a joke and sarcasm at every step. Elika is very interesting and her personality is great but it's a shame to see that the Prince remains a smug idiot even after all the things they went through. The game is painfully easy. YOU CANNOT DIE IN THIS GAME. Every time you are close to dying or falling from a missed jump, Elika automatically saves your ass. The fear of failing is non-existent here. Also, the collectibles in this game are absurd : 1001 seeds, required for a trophy of course, are painful and simply put annoying to get. The platforming gets boring from a point. Which is sad, because the story is quite interesting and Elika is a really pleasant person. At least the ending is redeemable for the Prince! However, the DLC is really great. Ignoring the absurd price, the DLC is finally challenging, forcing you to think your path and the approach, even more so if you are aiming for 100%. The platforming is even tighter than before and it took me lots of tries before perfecting the whole game. It's a shame that the game was boring and that uninteresting. Considering the DLC, I would have preferred a sequel. But sadly, Assassin's Creed is king now, Prince of Persia has been buried in the sand. #No.43: Burly Men at Sea Platinum Name : Ye've Done It Hardest Trophy : A Bargain to Make couldn't figure out how to trap the jellyfish Difficulty : 1/10 Personal Impression : 6/10 A cute game, played as a relaxation from more crazy games. Nothing more to say about it, just follow the bearded men through all their possible paths until you reach the end. Interesting, but not worth mentioning more about it. #No. 44: Goat Simulator(PS3) Platinum Name : All the Goat! Hardest Trophy : The Flapmaster - score 10 points in Flappy Goat Difficulty : 4/10 - because of the Flapmaster Personal Impression : 7.25/10 This game is a joke, and it's a good thing! Goat Simulator is basically a ragdoll project gone terribly wrong and ultimately terribly right. All you do in this game is controlling a goat and screw around the environment. With the almighty skill of Licking, you can grab anything and everything with your tongue and screw it around. You can unlock several powers to upgrade your goat : Angel wings to fly, demon wings to...fly? fire spitting, jetpacks and more. This game does not take itself seriously and its only purpose is to screw around with the mechanics. There is only one thing worth mentioning in terms of trophies : The Flapmaster. Whoever didn't play the infamous Flappy Bird will have a hell of a hard time with this trophy. You have to fly your goat through several gates, each key pressed will elevate your goat. Hitting a gate or falling through the screen means game over. It's a really frustrating trophy but I ultimately liked it too. I definetly recommend this game if you wish to take a break from all the other games and simply screw around with a crazy goat. #No. 45: Cat Quest Platinum Name : Le Platinum Trophy Hardest Trophy : Super Catvendurer - reach level 99 Difficulty : 1.5/10 Personal Impression : 9/10 Cat quest might be one of the most pleasant surprises I had in the latest years. Despite being virtually a mobile game ported to PS4, this game has so much personality it's impressive! The premise of the game is simple : Typical RPG, the chosen one, spells, items, quests, evil overlord. Except everything was replaced with cats and cat puns. Game is pretty easy. It is lighthearted, with quite sharp graphics which is surprising. The soundtrack is also cute and surprisingly, the world is quite competent : although never posing a challenge, the spells are varied enough so you won't get bored. Even the grind to level 99 is not much of a grind : You have a special dungeon which gives you 2-3 levels per run and it takes 1-2 minutes to fully complete it. Again, a game I fully recommend. I am eager to get my paws on Cat Quest 2, since they introduce dogs as well there. #No. 46 : Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Trilogy Pack Platinum Name : Master Assassin Hardest Trophy : The Completionist - Highest score and fastest time in AC China Difficulty : China - 5/10 India - 4/10 Russia - 5/10 Personal Impression : China - 8.6/10 India - 7.4/10 Russia - 8/10 AC Chronicles are a weird spinoff from the usual Assassin formula, created by Climax studios. It consists of 3 separate campaigns : China (protagonist Shao Jun, the final student of Ezio Auditore), India (protagonist Arbaaz Mir, father of Jayadeep Mir or Henry Green from AC Syndicate) and Russia ( Nikolai Orelov, Assassin during the Russian Revolution and ancestor of Daniel Cross). They are 2.5D platformers that rely heavily on stealth and resource management, contrary to the main series. Honestly, each of them have their specific charm and tone, depending on the periods : China is depicted in watercolors , India is colorful and vibrant and Russia is predominant of red and grey. I will briefly cover each entry from the pack: China episode follows Assassin Shao Jun on her quest to resurrect the Chinese brotherhood after being taught by Ezio Auditore. She has to defeat the 8 Tiger Templar masters in an adventure worthy of old kung fu movies. China is by far the hardest of the 3. Shao Jun has few tools at her disposal, the enemies are brutal and stealth sections are really tough. However they are not unfair (no matter what guides on the internet tell you), you just have to carefully plan your approach. By far my favorite episode due to the theme and alertness of certain sections of the game. India follows Master Assassin Arbaaz Mir in his quest to retrieve the piece of Eden Koh-I-Noor. India is a colorful stage with improved gameplay gimmicks. Arbaaz has more tools at his disposal, including Chackrams which he can bounce off walls and various moves. However the enemies feel dumbed down and some sections are more frustrating just for the sake of it. Russia follows Assassin Nikolai Orelov while he tries to save his family and the sole survivor of the Tsar family, Anastasia. Although the game has some dubious choices in terms of story(Anastasia is possessed by Shao Jun? WHAT?), the gameplay has more depth due to the technological advance. Nikolai has a sniper rifle now, an electric jammer and more. Gameplay is more brutal and enemies are more vicious than ever. What I love at this game is the russian tones and the color palette, crimson red paired with the communist grey. It is a work of art indeed. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the games. They are definitely more stealth oriented than the main games. The trophy list actually helps, since it constraints you to get perfect scores in each level (aka not being detected or not killing anybody for the entire game). It's a well designed entry, too bad that it's part of the AC saga, which was a joke at the moment of this entry's release. Still, I do recommend this pack, if you really wish to feel like a true assassin. Just make sure to ignore some of the stupid lore points. #No. 47 : Devil May Cry 5 Platinum Name : Devil May Cry Hardest Trophy : Worthy of Legend - S rank on all difficulties except HoH Difficulty : 7/10 Personal Impression : 10/10 BANG BANG BANG! PULL MY DEVIL TRIGGER! After a long 11 years, we finally get the deserved sequel of Devil May Cry series. Lord Hideaki Itsuno listened to our prayers and created one of the masterpieces of 2019. DMC5 is set 5 years after the event of DMC4. The city of Redgrave is being assaulted by an immense tree, controlled by a new demon lord called Urizen. Dante, Nero and the new protagonist V go and face this demon, only issue is that they heavily underestimate him. Dante gets beaten, Nero is shoved aside and runs away with V while the world sinks into chaos. This game is a love letter to all DMC fans. You have references from all games at every step (Redgrave - Dante's alias Tony Redgrave from the manga). Everything is canon now - even the anime. Morrison and Patty Lowell make an appearance too. Even the horrible DMC2 is canon now, although it's not as mentioned as the other games in the series. Gameplay is top notch. Every single moveset is well thought, can be comboed and has its usage. Even if you think one move is useless, you just didn't discover how to use it properly. Since there are 3 protagonists now , you have different movesets for each character: Nero - basically the main guy of the game. He lost his Devil Bringer from DMC4 ( some shadowy figure with a tendency for katanas wink wink stole it) so he has to rely on Devil breakers - replaceable arms, each with its own utility. He is the simplest to learn, he has his sword Red Queen and pistol Blue Rose and is based on mobility and damage. Starting the game as him , you will learn the idea of Devil May Cry if this is the first game of the series for you. V - new addition to the cast, he is a weird character. He acts as a sort of summoner and has 3 summons : Griffin and Shadow - his "guns" and "swords", the main way of dealing damage. However V himself must deal the finishing blow to the enemies. His third summon , Nightmare, is an invincible behemoth that acts like a devil trigger. He packs insane amounts of damage but his usage is limited plus he is very slow. Surprisingly, although I expected V to suck in a fast paced game like DMC5, he is actually really fun to use. Dante - the main man of the franchise, the big cheese. Definitely the hardest to learn and master, he has access to a wide array of swords, gauntlet, motorcycle buzzsaw, shooting weapons and...a hat? He can freely change between 4 styles Swordmaster, Trickster, Royal Guard and Gunslinger at any point. Combined with his arsenal, you can create insane amounts of combos and damage provided you learn him. Just search for donguri on youtube to understand what I mean. I can't mention anything about the story since it would be a spoiler. For dmc fans - story is like a wet dream. It's cliche in the best way possible and I'll be damned if you can be dissapointed by it. Even the MAIN SONG is actually a reference to the story ending. BRAVO Capcom. It's the second game I experience on PS4 that has moved me to tears. Not gonna mention bosses either, just want to say that they are insanely good. The devs added later the Bloody palace mode for free, to be attempted with each character. What can I say...Bloody Palace is like the icing of the cake. By far the best BP ever made, also you can save at any point of the map. Now, for the trophies : getting the platinum is TOUGH! Multiple playthroughs, S ranks, max-ing all skills....boy oh boy. Especially S rank on DMD and Hell and Hell will test your limits big time. The only weapon of great help is Faust, an "atomic" hat that uses red orbs as ammunition. More orbs sacrificed = more damage dealt. It's tough and satisfying. I can't explain in detail how much I like this game. It's one of the best games by far, and even if at the end of the day I still prefer DMC3, DMC5 is reaaaaallly close to it. There's no reason why anyone shouldn't try it. #No. 48 : The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Platinum Name : The Limits of the Possible Hardest Trophy : Walked the Path - finish the game on Deathmarch difficulty Difficulty : 4.5/10 Personal Impression : 10/10 There it is, my favorite game of all time. The Magnum Opus of Cd Projekt Red finishes the story of Geralt of Rivia as he searches for his witch consort Yennefer and the Child of Destiny Ciri, after recovering his lost memories. This is by far one of the best RPG games of all time, no doubt about it. Everything about the world Geralt explores feels lively. In pure Eastern European style, the world of The Witcher is not a pleasant place : The forces of Nilfgaard are conquering every land possible, the only opponents being the once-great kingdoms Temeria and Redania ,each with its own agends. The Skellige Islands risk both a civil war and an invasion, and amidst all this chaos Geralt rushes to find Yennefer and Ciri while being hunted by the spectrals Wild Hunt. It might sound abit too much from a newcomer's standpoint, but this is the world of the Witcher : Since it's the third iteration, it is heavily recommended to both read the books of Andrzej Sapkowski and play the first 2 witcher games ( sadly only on PC and Xbox). It is unfair indeed, but this is the reality: Cd projekt red were just a little studio before breaking out with Witcher 1. This might be the only real issue with the game : you are constrainted to play the previous games to understand what is going on. Apart from that... everything works really. Maybe it's because I am from Eastern Europe as well, or because I know the lore, but I am incredibly impressed by what the crazy Polish could pull with this game. Everywhere I went, the world felt genuine. Humans, although oppressed, always had some extra time to be racists towards other non-humans. Witchers were feared and avoided unless they had something to kill. Armies were brutal on both sides. Honestly, after finishing the tutorial level White Orchard together with Vesemir, the whole world opens to you, it's up to you how to approach it. Many people complain about the combat, however I do not really understand why ; The combat works quite good, I personally had no issue on it even on Deathmarch. It's not your typical combat and indeed it's not as finessed as Dark Souls, but it gets its job done. Geralt has various moves and skills to unlock with his swords : Steel for Humans and Silver for Monsters, and his unique spells only witchers can use. Geralt also has access to a wide array of bombs and potions, perfect for a fully fledged Witcher who has to fight beasts twice his size. Finally, Geralt drops the traditions and equips a crossbow, which although underwhelming at first, can become a mini-cannon with the right build. The music and ambience is also a worthy mention. Each area has its own theme, the combat is basically Eastern European party songs modified with a greater tempo by the band Percival (seriously check them out, they are badass) and the voice acting is on point. Notably the Nilfgardian Emperor Emhyr voiced by Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister). I refuse to say anything about the story. Each mention might be a potential spoiler which I refuse to give. All I can say : incredible development, wait until you meet Ciri, lots of different endings depending on your interaction with the world, LOTS of easter eggs (the first moments of Witcher 3 starts with a character sheet from Witcher 2) and many, many more. Go see for yourself! When he is not following his friends, Geralt has other "Witchery" stuff to do, namely monster contracts. Each monster is an unique beast with a specific way to defeat. You can either do it the recommended way (by reading bestiary entries) or get creative. Of course, some monsters are not what they seem, so you have to really ponder if what you are doing is actually right. This is the main idea of the Witcher : The world is not black or white, just various shades of grey. However, being neutral is almost never the correct answer, as you will experiment several times during your journey. The game also has 2 DLC's , Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. Hearts of Stone treats the folklore story " Never make deals with the devil" , where Geralt in order to return a favor of a mysterious man called Gaunter O'Dimm, has to fulfill 3 wishes of the immortal ataman Olgierd Von Everec. What can I say about this DLC : it's the only part of the game where I felt genuinely creeped, Gaunter O Dimm is one of the most dangerous individuals in videogames and the whole story is insanely well written. It also depends heavily whether you complete the DLC before or after the main story. Blood and Wine however is full on crazy !!! It's basically Geralt's "retirement" of some sorts. Geralt is summoned to the fancy and pompous land of Toussaint by the local Duchess. Toussaint is a land of tradition, full of knights in shiny armor, damzels in distress and other magical beings ripped straight from Brothers Grimm's stories. If the main game was full Eastern Europe, Blood and Wine is Western Europe lore to the max. Geralt here has to solve the crimes that are plaguing this land. By far, this might be the best DLC to a game ever made (rivalling Diablo 2's Lord of Destruction). Here the devs went full bonkers. The DLC is full of gags, references and quests one crazier than the other. It's no wonder it received the "RPG of the year" even though it's a DLC. Honestly, I am stopping writing about this game because I wish these texts to be short and concise. For Witcher 3 I could write 10 pages and it wouldn't be enough. But in conclusion : If you are a gamer, then for sure this is a game you must not miss! #No. 49 : Assassin's Creed III Remastered Platinum Name : Master Assassin Hardest Trophy : Completionist - 100% the game Difficulty : 3/10 - Still a somewhat easy assassin's creed game Personal impression : 8/10 This can be considered the final chapter of Desmond's Saga. This time we drop Ezio for good and move towards the times of American Revolution. The first hours of the game you control a peculiar gentleman called Haytham Kenway. After the first hours, the game switches perspective to the true main character of the game, Ratonhnhake:ton (or simply put Connor), a native american and Haytham's son. Again, a plot that involves templars, assassins, world control and McGuffins of Eden. I absolutely loved playing as Haytham. He is definitely one of the most fleshed out characters there, with a personality and mannerism that would set any english gentleman to shame. He is also brutally effective, given his training as a Templar(the plot twist of the game : you first play as a templar), as he tries to build a new Templar base in the Colonies and undermine the heavy Assassin influence. The switch to Connor ,controlling him as a child, as a teenager and then finally as an adult is quite sudden. Connor at first is not really that pleasant (all the charisma remained at his dad), I did not like him either, but then considering that he's a native american invaded by the colonies, his manner of speaking and behaviour is explainable. Switching to Connor, you unlock the whole world of the Colonies. Compared to previous games, now you can scale almost anything with the newly implemented free form climbing, you can even freerun from tree to tree and now the hunting, crafting and convoy selling are implemented. Personally I loved the hunting aspect, placing lures, following animals and hunting them either with a bow and arrow/assassin blade to get a perfect pelt or a simple gun, easier to pull but it damages your pelt. These mechanics were well implemented. There is also the Homestead aspect : Connor's main base of operation. It's a safe haven that is initially a ruin, inhabited by the previous Assassin Mentor Achilles Davenport (why he became a decrepit old man -> refer to AC Rogue. Mainly because Haytham is a born Assassin Exterminator). Consider it a Monteriggioni from AC2 but way more developed. Your main job is to gather various artisans around the places who will directly work under you. Completing their quests will upgrade the materials they can collect and produce, which in turn will allow you to get better upgrades, convoys and weapons. It's a sort of micromanagement that is absolutely awesome, gives way more personality to the game. Each artisan has his own story(the twin lumberers are funny as hell) and it really builds a sense of community. Honestly it's the only AC game where this aspect is developed in detail. Also the regular combat has been revamped. Although you can still counter enemies to oblivion AC2 style, there are some variations : While Haytham fights elegantly and with style, Connor is more brutish, savage style. Connor is by far the most buffed Assassin ever made, wreaking havoc with his tomahawk, pistols and rope dart. Perhaps only Alexios/Cassandra would stand up to him but those guys are something else. Also because of the technological advanceries, you can now get human shields to cover from musket fire and unlock more options in your tools. The outstanding addition that AC3 brings are the naval battles. Although cumbersome compared to the sequel AC4, Ubisoft hit the jackpot here. Even if they are short sub-missions, the naval battles are still the best sea warfare based content in any videogame at the time. They were a nice surprise and quite challenging, especially if you are going for 100% sync. However, the main issue of this game is the story. The only moments the story shines are the Haytham interactions (god I love that man). Apart from that, Connor doesn't even know himself what he wants, he does several mistakes, his interaction with others except Homestead are minimal and uninteresting. Connor has one main target : Charles Lee (WHERE IS CHARLES LEE yells everywhere) to the point of obsession, and even when it is discovered that not Lee was the one to wrong him(setting fire to his village and killing his mother), but Washington, he still continues his vengeance. However as mentioned, his father-son moments and struggles against Haytham are really worth remembering, it's the first time when it's presented the fact that the world is not as black and white as Assassins see it. The game has 3 new main DLC's called Tyranny of King Washington. Connor and George Washington are transported by an apple of eden in a parallel universe, where Washington becomes a despot King and Connor has to battle him using various animal powers. It's honestly a mess of a DLC but the animal powers and the alternate reality is fun. I just wished it didn't depend on stupid McGuffins. The trophy list is...odd. It requires 100% completion (all main quest, subquests, fetch quests and Homestead missions), requires winning in 3 games (Faronora, Morris and Bowl, the computer WILL kick your ass) and lots of backtracking. I personally enjoyed all the hassle but I would understand why others wouldn't be thrilled by doing all that crazy stuff. The PS3 version had a multiplayer component. All I can say... thank god they didn't implement it in PS4. It was nasty. All in all, AC3 is a good game which is suffering from hiccups, a lame story and several Ubisoft trademark bugs. Still, it's good to give it a go. THE GOOD: - A vast and interesting world - Improved gameplay and mechanics - Homestead is a delight to explore and improve - Haytham Kenway is a great character THE BAD: - Some performance issues - Poor uninteresting story - Lots, LOTS of bugs - WHERE IS CHARLES LEE? #No. 50 : Asura's Wrath Platinum Name : Enlightenment Hardest Trophy : Deity - complete all episodes with an S rank on Hard Difficulty : 5/10 Personal impression : 5/10 as a game, 9/10 as an anime Asura's Wrath is one of the most weird games released by Capcom. Intended as an interactive anime, you follow the story of one of the deities, Asura, while he tries to get revenge on his fellow gods for the murder of his wife and capture of his daughter. It is a cliche typical shonen story which surprisingly works. As a game , Asura's Wrath doesn't offer much : you have a light attack, a heavy attack, gun mode and a rage bar. Game is pelted with quick time events and shoot'em up sections where our angry boy just wrecks everything in his path. Honestly, just from a gameplay perspective...this game kinda sucks. However this game is not intended to be just that. Asura's Wrath is packed full of action, destruction, a glorious storytelling and epic men punching the hell out of each other while throwing planets, all accompanied on a grand orchestra as soundtrack. Every impact of Asura's punches can be felt as the poor enemies get ragdolled into oblivion. The enemies are pretty standard : the usual grunts, larger grunts, huge tortoises and even bigger elephants, they don't offer much in variety except on harder levels. Bosses however are quite unique themselves and bursting with adrenaline. One particular fight is versus Augus. After relaxing in a bath with your former mentor (all while drinking, oogling at the busty maidens and doing all manner of ungodly stuff), you get straight up to the moon and fight him for real while he slices the terrain with a humongous katana. If that doesn't scream Japanese then I don't know what does. The game also has DLC's that complete the story. While the Asura vs Ryu and Akuma from street fighter DLC is a delight, the other DLC are plagued by Capcom's decision to milk the poor players : If you wish to see the full story, you NEED THIS DLC. Hiding the story behind a paywall is one of the scummiest tactics of Capcom and its a shame because the final fight vs Chackravartin involves lots of emotional moments and galaxy tossings at each other. The game also presents several challenges, Capcom style . S ranks, various gauges(Mortal, unlimited gauge and so on) and difficulty ramp ups are there to remind you that you are playing a Capcom game after all. Trophy list can be abit tedious but with enough practice everything can be completed. It's because of the sheer epicness and uniqueness of the game that I decided to make this as my 50th platinum. Not the best game out there but for sure one of the most unique games ever made. THE GOOD: - Beautiful action sequences anime style - Wonderful soundtrack - Bosses are awe inducing and memorable THE BAD: -Game relies solely on anime aspect, as a game it sucks -Capcom shady DLC tactics -Ambiguous requirements for S rank 51-60 Spoiler #No. 51 : Assassin's Creed Liberation Remastered(PS4) Platinum Name : Julius Cesar Hardest Trophy : Complete all mission constraints - untrackable Difficulty : 3/10, mostly because of bugs Personal Impression : 4.2/10 And here we have the worst Assassin's Creed made so far on a major console. You are controlling Aveline de Grandpre , the BEAUTIFUL AND GORGEOUS Assassin of the Louisiana Bayou. Or at least she might be beautiful, the game is too horrible to actually show me good graphics. Honestly, the idea behind this game is very good. As Aveline, a black woman in a time where slavery was still going big and women were double ostracized, you can't go around assassinating like Connor would. You have instead 3 "personas" : The regular Assassin outfit that attracts unwanted attention, the Slave persona that doesn't attract attention but you die in 2 hits and the Lady persona who unlocks various charms and poison darts ( from the parasol, easily the best weapon in the game) but seriously hinders movement. You have to switch between all these personas in order to complete the various tasks and challenges the game throws at you. As I mentioned, in theory this sounds awesome, but in practice everything falls apart. Apart from main mission constraints, the lady persona is completely useless since you are moving at a snail's pace. Slave persona is pretty decent if you wish to lose notoriety but when a stray bullet murders your ass.. why even add it in the game? At least the combat seems abit more brutal than ever, Aveline being as unrefined as Connor in some parts. Apart from that...the game plays exactly as a poor man's version of AC3. I struggled to mention only the interesting parts because honestly the story is a mess. Paired with a very poor voice acting, the story is insipid, no substance, full of cliches and straight up boring as hell. No idea what even was happening due to poor voice acting, I gave up trying to understand in the end. Aveline becomes mentor, that's the idea of it. The only good part is the Chichen Itza map. It's really atmospheric and fun. Doesn't wash out the issues of the game but at least it was a nice touch. It has more personality than the Mayan ruins from AC4 honestly Honestly, a bad game. Play it only if you really want to plat the entire series. Else, don't bother. THE GOOD: - Persona variation is good ... in theory - The Chichen Itza map is surprisingly beautiful. THE BAD: - Ugly graphics - Horrible voice acting - What story? - Aveline is annoying as a protagonist - Bugs at the level of a Bethesda game #No.52 : Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Platinum Name : Sekiro Hardest Trophy : Height of Technique - Acquire all skills Difficulty : 4/10 - Yes game is a Fromsoft game, but you also have unlimited stamina. Personal impression : 7.8/10 The latest game released by mastermind Hidetaka Miyazaki, Sekiro tells the tale of a fallen shinobi struggling to protect his Lord. Sekiro taking place into feudal Japan has beautiful graphics, accurate gameplay that works ( honestly stealth system is one of the best there yet) a solid story and great music. That being said....I didn't quite enjoy the game. It's one of those strange cases " I acknowledge that the game is good yet I don't like it" . First of all for all the crazy publicity it was shown due to difficulty , I found the game to be really easy. No bragging, just hold the circle button and smack the bosses, it works 90% of the time. Second...the setting is really bland. Really there was more diversity in Soulsborne. The land of Ashina in comparison....eh the same castle, generic poison pool, you know...the usual Miyazaki stuff. I tried to get more invested, to see what is actually happening, but you will find nothing to the caliber of Lordran from DS1 or even Drangleic. It's just your typical japanese land overrun by invaders. Third... the fact that I don't even have much to say about this game is proof that it bored me. Like...ok skills are cool but I don't use them? Prosthetics....Occasionally firecrackers? MAYBE? I never felt the urge to really use them. I even copied the old review I slapped in "Most Recent Platinum" just to skip the review for this game. Bosses weren't that diverse either. Some of them were really good I admit but more than half of them were just damage sponges that required multiple pokes. Props to the only bloodborne'ish boss though Demon of Hatred, what a beautiful beast it is. In terms of trophies there's nothing special, the exp farm was abit of a pain but nothing a good few hours of podcasting couldn't solve. So ... yeah. Kinda letdown by this game. Fortunately there will be no DLC to this game, so I have no reason to keep it installed. Will get my hopes up for Elden Ring. THE GOOD: - Stunning visuals - Impressive bosses - Stealth mechanic is really well implemented - Music is on point, as usual - MY NAME IS GYOBU MASATAKA ONIWA!!!!! THE BAD: - Game is really bland - Only difficult if you play it as a Soulsborne - Story really makes no sense, compared to just being convoluted #No. 53 : Access Denied Platinum Name : Platinum Hacker Hardest Trophy : Thirty Levels Difficulty : 2.5/10 ,1/10 with a guide Personal impression : 5/10 Access Denied is a small game that I bought just to enjoy some puzzles with my gf while preparing for bigger games. The aim is simple : get the box, solve the code, open the box. Considering how many gold trophies this thing has... I guess it's a game for trophy hunters. Else I doubt why I would get a gold for every single mundane stuff. Anyway ... game is so-so. Some puzzles are cute, some are outright nonsensical and some are...dumb (find the hidden symbol on a different side of the box). The graphics are kinda meh and most of the time the lighting doesn't help at all with the solution. At least the rain effect is nice. Buy this only if it's at an absurdly low price. THE GOOD: - Some creative puzzles - Rain effect is nice THE BAD - Some retarded puzzles - Game doesn't really offer much - It looks ugly #No. 54 : JoJo's Bizarre Adventure : Eyes of Heaven Platinum Name : JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Hardest Trophy : Tacos! - achieve all Dramatic Finishes Difficulty : 3/10 Personal Impression : for non-jojo fans : 6/10, for jojo fans : 8.6/10 Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Eyes of Heaven is an action brawler tag-team game that resembles Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm in gameplay, only it's with JoJos. You play in a team of two , selecting from a roster of 53 characters. While the game ain't super complex or with deep mechanics, it was definetly made for JoJo fans. Every single dumb reference is in that game, every character quirk too. The graphics ,animation and sound are surprisingly good. Araki (the creator of the manga) supervised the game himself so the areas in the game replicate perfectly the settings that are in the manga/anime. The story ,characters and the game itself is nonsensical and I loved it!!! The game even has characters from part 8: Josuke8 and Joshuu. If they had the balls to include Joshuu then you know this game is good for every Jojo fan. And of course to appeal to the memebase fandom, Speedwagon ( a regular human) is mega OP it can defeat all the immortal vampires in existence with only a bladed hat and power of friendship. The only meh part is the multiplayer. Surprisingly I have found human opponents in Europe (online is kinda dead normally) but the connectivity is very bad and I have understood it has always been bad.Typical japanese netcode So I just joined for the online trophies and skipped it. With good connectivity though this game would have had some good potential. Definitely get this game if you love JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. As a JoJo game, it can't get any better. THE GOOD: - best Jojo content in a videogame since Heritage of the Future - all characters are surprisingly balanced - even weird characters like Stroheim are in the game - accurate references and attacks - poker vs D'Arby is brilliant THE BAD: - worst netcode I have ever encountered online - Ascended Dio is pretty lame sadly - will not appeal to a non-Jojo fan - riding characters from part 7 are poorly implemented (Johnny and Gyro) #No. 55 : Mortal Kombat 11 Platinum name : Elder God Hardest Trophy : Victorious - Equip 5 different victories Difficulty rate : 3/10 Personal Impression : 7.3/10 This is my first platinum in Netherrealm's famous franchise, Mortal Kombat 11. This game was....allright in terms of fighting games. The major plus are the graphics and the sound. Some characters were improved(Jade and Kitana ) while others were really "downgraded" (poor Jaqui looks like a brawler mom who wants to talk with the local manager. All she is missing is a slipper). Story is...well as dumb as you'd expect from a MK game, though not as ridiculous as MK10 story. Overall the story was ok for me. Why I say the game was alright...the combat is abit lackluster. That's how I felt at least. I always viewed mortal kombat as that sweet spot between technical fighting games (such as street fighter ,tekken etc) and the combo crazy fighting games( guilty gear, blazblue, any game that lets you string 50 hits combos or more) . But with this iteration I feel they kinda lost their identity. The game is not bad by any means , just I doubt I will play it anymore in the future. I didn't feel like wanting to learn any new combos or progress in any way . I feel that injustice 2(the other netherrealm game I am playing currently ) is vastly superior to this. Also too much customization in a fighting game for my taste. A great addition in this game was the Krypt. Now you control your character in 3D and explore for goodies and items, all while Shang Tsung (yes, the original actor) is guiding you or mocking you if you fail. I believe I spent more time in the Krypt than in the actual game, it's that good Overall ... an ok fighting game. Graphics are vastly improved but honestly I found better gameplay in other fighting games. Do give it a try though, it might appeal to you. THE GOOD: - Top Notch graphics - Story improved from the mess that is MK X - lots, LOTS of fan service - Shang Tsung is a favorite - the Krypt is brilliant THE BAD: - gameplay feels toned down - inspired from Street Fighter - too much focus on customization - it's the least Mortal Kombat style MK out there #No. 56 : Samurai Shodown Platinum Name : Samurai Shodown Hardest Trophy : World's Greatest - complete Gauntlet mode Difficulty rate : 2,5/10 Personal Impression : 7.6/10 Samurai Shodown 2019 is the latest iteration of the age old SNK fighting series, now resurrected and remade, better than ever. You can choose from a roster of 16 fighters varying from the classic ronin samurai Haohmaru and Genjuro to ninja wannabe Galford and his pet dog Poppy, French fencing master Charlotte and a.... fat ninja bandit with kusarigama called Earthquake. Yeah...quite the few samurai around the game . Graphics and sound are top notch. SNK really did a great job by choosing the art style that resembles Street Fighter 4 , since a realistic artstyle wouldn't fit the series. Sounds and ambient music are traditional Japanese strings just like the previous iterations . Gameplaywise , I believe this is the most defensive based fighting game ever ( or at least a known fighting game). Mashing buttons and trying to pull combos or special moves would almost guarantee a defeat. For example, if you counter the opponent with your heavy slash you can take up to 50% of his HP bar. If games like Killer Instinct and guiltygear/blazblue/skullgirls are offensive and combo based, samurai shodown is at the other end of the spectrum. What I didn't like... the story mode was barebones. Really didn't care who did what and why. Most of the characters were " eh i stumbled across this mystical land of Japan and i need to slash the baddie" . I kinda wished for a more fleshed out story mode. The ghost system is good in theory but kinda dumb in practice. It was initially advertised that a "ghost" will learn your moveset and you can fight it so you see your own flaws. Well most of the ghosts i encountered (mine included) just kept jumping around or spammed light attack. So...the system doesn't work ,I hope they will improve it. Also the biggest issue are the loading times. I had to wait up to 15 seconds between battles. It really feels cumbersome and cuts from the experience. Again , I hope they fix this with a patch. Trophies are really easy to obtain, this is one of the easiest plats I ever got. The only trophy abit tricky was the Gauntlet Mode trophy ,where you had to defeat all 16 characters and the final boss, but there are several exploits that could ease up the difficulty to that trophy too(pick up Galford and spam projectiles for days). All in all,a very fun game, really enjoyed it. I can't wait to get the newest DLC chars. THE GOOD: - a true revival of the series - top notch graphics and artstyle - FINALLY a worthy tutorial - the game's theme and trailer soundtrack are so good THE BAD: - barebones story : this is 2019, pick up the pace SNK. Even MK has a better story. - STILL a shitty netcode - gets boring after a while due to its simplicity #No 57 : Assassin's Creed Syndicate +100% Jack the Ripper DLC Platinum Name : Master Assassin Hardest Trophy : Without a Grudge - Destroy 5000 destructibles it's GRINDY Difficulty rate : 2/10 Fun rate : 8.2/10 Yet another entry from the Assassin's Creed series, this time Syndicate, which follows the adventures of twins Jacob and Evie Frye through the magical Victorian London . And boy oh boy what a ride it was. Syndicate took all the failure that was Unity and improved tenfold. Sadly it was released at a time where even the most devoted fans were tired of the series so it didn't get the best of the rating, especially given that the game doesn't contribute to the main plot at all. HOWEVER that doesn't mean the game is bad!! First of all ,the twins are a joy to play with. Jacob is an airheaded idiot who would rather screw around making his merry gang and slaying templars than even sit and think for a little, while his sister Evie tries her best to hunt the pieces of Eden and patch whatever the top hat moron manages to ruin (there is a nice bit about English economy in the game, made me laugh a good while). The gameplay is SMOOTH. No more dumb Arno-esque running and tripping over the roofs and refusing to climb a dumb table. Now the twins are responsive, i had no issues with the parkour and the targeting system works better. Combat as well , no more " whoops you missed a parry now you are dead", it's still challenging but way better made. Kinda reminds me of Arkham Asylum. Storywise... eh, maybe AC Liberation is worse. The main story is the worst part of this game. Yadda yadda evil english overlord with evil moustache , control the world, blah blah I just skipped it. Interacting with Sergeant Abberline or with Charles Dickens/Darwin was WAY MORE ENJOYABLE. Even the poor maharaja Duleep Singh was a great addition to the game. A different story is Jack the Ripper DLC. Without entering into too much detail, the DLC is a solid part that should not be missed no matter what. The fear system is something I never though i'd love in a videogame. DEFINITELY it should be played and way , WAY better than dead kings dlc in Unity. Heck, I believe up until now it's the best DLC so far (didn't consider Origins and Oddysey though). Platinum difficulty? Easiest AC to plat by far. No more 100% synchronization (AC3 flashbacks) or collectibles (AC Unity hell). Just main mission synchronization, the optional objectives are really easy. Maybe the most annoying trophy would be destroying 5000 objects with the carriage, but i accidentally unlocked that one while conquering boroughs (carriage controls are meh at best, no way you can control those things properly). All in all , I really enjoyed this game. Kinda sad that I had to finish it, but oh well time to move on. Next one is Egypt Boogaloo! ((damn only Origins and Oddysey left? What a time to be alive) P.S. While most of the soundtrack doesn't end up in the game itself, major extra props to Austin Wintory for composing those beautiful tracks. Too bad you can listen to them in bars mostly (apart from the main theme and combat themes of course). THE GOOD : - Major improvements over the ideas brought by Unity - As usual in terms of historical accuracy, perfect depiction of Victorian England. - Jacob and Evie Frye are 2 of the funniest assassins to date - Diverse and interesting missions - The DLC is marvellous : Charles Dickens Conspiracy, Karl Marx, Maharajah and Jack the Ripper is a must - The WW1 section is a nice addition - Carriage races are ridiculous - Austin Wintory soundtrack is genius - Shaun Hastings FINALLY gets some character development THE BAD: - Doesn't bring anything new to the table - At this point the franchise feels stale - Main story is ridiculous and the villain is uninteresting - Austin Wintory Soundtrack is NOT fully in the game - Henry Green is annoying and his romance with Evie is forced #No 58 : Old Man's Journey Platinum Name : Life, loss, reconciliation and hope Hardest Trophy : Smooth Ride - ride the train without stopping Difficulty rate : 1.5/10 Fun rate : 6/10 Taking a break from the major series I am invested in, I tried this little game. It was pretty cute, you have to walk an old man through an interactive landscape. This game is about an old man receiving a letter and starting a journey. Towards his destination we find out his backstory and motives. This game has a cute artstyle, you have to interact with various environment pieces and drag them in order to form a pathway for the old man. It's a cute and innovative way to create a puzzle game but it presents no real challenge, even without a guide. The story is also quite interesting but really predictable. All in all a decent relaxation game. Even though I wasn't really invested in the ending, as the title says, it's not about the destination but the journey. THE GOOD: - Cute artstyle - Nice soundtrack - Puzzles are well thought THE BAD: - predictable story - the train section can get abit annoying #No. 59 : Seasons after Fall Platinum Name : Master of seasons Hardest Trophy : A pretty bouquet - explore and smell all the flowers Difficulty rate : 2/10 Fun rate : 9/10 Continuing the artsy games collection, Seasons After Fall is another surprisingly cute game that I discovered during a July sale. You control the spirit of a fox who is desperately trying to wake up the spirits of the four seasons in a great platforming adventure. Everything is unique in this game, starting from the hand drawn animation, to the beautiful music and the voice acting. The controls are smooth and logical and the story is quite compelling. The main protagonist, the fox, can switch through all 4 seasons at will after discovering their respective spirits. Guided by the Bear (winter season), it must go , wake up the spirits then unlock the specific season totems who were shut down by a mischievous fairy (what that fairy really is, you will find out at the end of the game). The platforming is top notch and the puzzles being caused by weather and environment manipulation are some of the best I've seen. For example, there are geizers in some parts. You have to increase their water capacity with Spring(when it rains) then freeze them with Winter(cold) in order to create a platform. Not much to say about this game, just because it's an experience which should be lived, not described through a review. Considering how cheap it is lately, I believe everyone should give it a try. THE GOOD: - Voice acting, artwork and atmosphere - The fox is adorable - Smart puzzles paired with a good story - The fox can squeak. Did I mention how adorable it is? THE BAD: - Too short - Some sections of the game might be obscure - My girlfriend cried at the end #No. 60 : Apotheon Platinum Name : Omnipotence Hardest Trophy : A hero's due - open all lockboxes Difficulty rate : 4/10 Fun rate : 9/10 THIS IS HOW YOU DO GREEK GODS IN VIDEOGAMES! Apotheon is a 2D sidescroller indie action game where you control Nikandreos, one of the survivors of a sieged village. The greek gods have abandoned the humans and it's up to your task to go and "convince "them to give back the godly gifts so that mankind can survive. The whole game is set like a greek tragedy. The graphics are quite unique ( each setting looks like an amphora painting) accompanied by a specific soundtrack that works well with the setting. Gameplay is simple and to the point : you collect weapons from boxes/crates/whatever is smashable and use them until they break. Boring review aside ... I loved this game. I have quite a passion for history and mythology ( given I keep finishing all them dumb assassin's creed games) however I was feeling the urge to play a game set properly in the greek mythology realm (god of war doesn't count. Great game but it is inaccurate as hell). Apotheon really filled that desire. Developers really did their homework and all of the 12 gods are behaving according to their mythos. Some gods aren't even "fightable " , you just have to solve their various puzzles ( leaving you to guess which god would throw a puzzle at you ). Some negative issues : targeting system is iffy and doesn't always work, the voice actors while well intended ,have the most perfect english out there ,kinda pulled me out from the greek setting. Also some key items have the bad habit to glitch through the walls forcing me to reload the game. But these are minor inconveniences (heard the initial release was a buggy mess). All in all , a beautiful game, wished there were more like it. Guess I will have to be happy with this one and Titan Quest.. THE GOOD: - The most accurate representation of Greek mythology in a videogame - Artwork straight from the Greek amphoras - The story resembles a Greek drama play - Boss fights are unique - God of War should inspire from this THE BAD: - The game has several bugs and issues - chests and quest items can glitch through the walls making them unobtainable - Combat can get really messy, especially in Ares' arena - Left me asking for more Greek themed games 💯 Zone Spoiler #No. 1: Puzzle Quest : Challenge of the Warlords (PS4 remaster) Hardest Trophy : Master Craftsman - forge a Godlike item Difficulty : 5/10 - because of Master Craftsman and the final section of the map Personal Impression : 8/10 Starting with the 100% section, this is my first game that I 100%'ed without a platinum. Puzzle quest is a combination of Candy Crush saga and Warlords Battlecry series ( can't help you if you don't know either of them). You select a hero RPGesque style and explore a quarter of the map of Etheria (Again, can't help you if you don't know Warlords Battlecry). You have sidequests, battles and level up, all in a "match 3 or more tiles of the same color " setting. The reason I got this game is because I played the living shit out of it back in my PC days. Even today this game holds impressively. It's quite unforgiving also, if you don't know how to do your build you might get stuck at the end with no way to progress. But also the game is quite self-explanatory so you can't really mess it up. The general advice is : clean up the map. You have a specific "forge" also, where the hardest trophy also resides. By matching specific tiles in a certain amount of moves you can create items. The more difficult the challenge, the better the item. It's unforgiving and it's surprising how well you must plan your tile breaking in order to unlock the goddamn item. Honestly, not a game for everyone. I personally really enjoyed it but I can understand why people might not like it that much. #No.2 : Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry Hardest Trophy : His Full Attention - Achieve 100% synchronization Difficulty : 3/10 Personal Impression : 5.6/10 Not much to say about this game. They made Freedom Cry a stand alone DLC from AC4 Black Flag. You basically control Adewale through his quest of liberating the Maroon slaves. The ship combat is the same, Adewale is not really an impressive character... The only good thing about this one is the low price. Again, please refer to AC4 review for impressions (I don't really like this DLC) #No.3 : Samurai Shodown V Special (PS4) Hardest Trophy : Sword Saint - win 10 multiplayer matches in a row - impossible without boosting Difficulty : 5/10, 3/10 with boosting Personal Impression : 7/10 This was my first SamSho game. I was quite impressed about the simplistic but yet strategic mechanics ( no combos or flashy moves, just well placed slashes). Most characters are interesting, the game shows a huge roster(Genjuro being a favorite). However... maybe because it was poorly ported to PS4, I did not understand the story at all. Apparently this is a SamSho thing, they are quite poor in terms of story so I didn't bother too much. Of course, the multiplayer is utter crap. I had to ask a friend for help on getting the online trophies since the netcode is horror incarnate. Honestly...give this game a try if it's under $5 in the store. #No. 4 : Guilty Gear (PS4) (first one to 100% it) Hardest Trophy : Here comes a daredevil - defeat Baiken Difficulty : 5/10 Personal impression : 7/10 Guilty Gear is the first entry in the famous Arcsys fighting franchise. It's a great game, plagued by annoyingly cheap AI. Also the EU version costs 20 euro for some reason ... definitely not recommending buying it at this price unless you are passionate with the game. But given that's an 1998 game , it's understandable. Still a great experience nonetheless. #No.5: Abzu Hardest Trophy : Collector - Add all secret shells to your collection Difficulty : 2/10 Personal Impression : 6.5/10 Abzu is what you could describe as a diving simulator. You control a small scuba diver and go explore the various oceans and seas. It's a fully visual and auditive experience, but for some reason this game didn't click with me. Maybe because it's a swimming simulator? I don't know. But I got burned out pretty fast by it. I just used a guide to quickly 100% it. It's a good game for a certain gaming target for sure. Published Guides 1.Guilty Gear (1998 version) - PS4 2.Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus - PS3 3.DmC Devil May Cry - PS3 4.DmC Devil May Cry Vergil's Downfall - PS3 5.Death's Gambit - PS4 (collaboration with Arcesius) 6. Titan Quest Ragnarok DLC - PS4 7. Titan Quest Atlantis DLC - PS4 8. Samurai Shodown VI - PS4 9. Art of Fighting Anthology - PS4 10.The King of Fighters: The Orochi Saga - PS4 Grading system overhaul - 2022 edition- As I mentioned in my previous post, I decided to drop the grading of games via a numbering system and instead use a tier list. While I will continue grading the platinum difficulty as before (no need for that to change in my opinion), I do agree that games can't be graded with a simple number anymore. So in the past days I actually sit down and "tiered down" each and every game on my list, completed or not. It was a very fun activity, because I could look back at the games I've finished in the past and see how I feel about them in the present. Thanks to @DrunkenEngineer for giving me a nudge to approach this madness To recap: - My Tier list is 100% subjective. - Any and every game can be discussed in this thread. - The games are ordered only via Tiers. Within the tiers they are ordered randomly. Actually ordering them in a well-argumented and coherent list is a titanic work that only someone like @DrBloodmoney could pull. I am WAY too lazy for that. - For the full experience I always count the DLC as well. If it's part of the game/trophy list, it shall be played and analyzed. - Tier list is this An example of why I love videogames - Games that improved my passion for this hobby, similar to a "level up" in terms of gaming experience. Also known as "I don't think I will find a game as good as this anymore" (obviously wrong ) Fantastic game - Amazing videogames that I have little to no negatives to say about, big thumbs up to the dev team. Worth an investment - As the name says, they're good games, overall had a great time with them, you may either buy them full price or at a discount, but I wouldn't say these are my favorite A good game with glaring flaws - Games that I wish were better. Or rather, whenever I felt like I had a good time there was a mechanic or a story point that made me go "ew what's this". You could probably skip this one - Games where I felt I wasted my time and are not really that great, but usually have one decent point that save them from the trash can. An absolute mess - These are the worst games on my list mainly from a regular point of view (shitty gameplay, awful story), basically games that I would never recommend no matter what. It makes me want to quit this hobby - The "bait" section, or rather the games that I personally hate with a burning passion. The irony with this particular tier is that they can be good games BUT I have a personal grudge against them for reasons that I usually cover in my posts. Some people love beans, I cannot stand them and I want to nuke them out of existence. But I will NEVER judge someone for liking the games that I despise. ResoluteRock
Nice list! Lots of high quality platinums on there! I haven't tried the Witcher 3 but I really should one of these days. With the AC games, I'd never been to Rome like you did to see the world and compare to the games, but I went to Florence. It looks so similar to the games it's amazing. I felt comfortable walking around (about as comfortable as I could feel with men yelling after me "my guy. my friend. $20 for rolex!") as I remembered the layout of the game Even the bridge where Ezio gets in the fight at the beginning of the game is there!

Thank you! Yes the attention to detail in these AC games is astounding for me at least. It was kinda backwards for me, I could get around in AC brotherhood without consulting the minimap every 5 minutes just because I walked so much in the actual Rome (yes including the Rolex people) And you definetly should try Witcher 3, just prepare for a long quality game
Whitelightnin683
Really good list and I noticed we shared some games. In particular, the one that stands out the most would be getting 100% for all DMC games. I guess I didn't realize how much I liked these games back in my X360 days which lead me to playing them again for full completion. However, I do agree that DMC2 is just a stain on the series. The Witcher 3 hands down was the best RPG that I've played in a long time.

The rest entries though are brilliant. Still trying to decide which is better now, DMC3 or DMC5 Because boy oh boy DMC5 DID DELIVER. Also a fun thing about Witcher 3 : It took me 2 years and 2 months to platinum it. Initially I did not want to platinum it just because a trophy " Woodland Spirit" forced me to make a decision that I didn't agree with. I finally caved in after 2 years and just did the blasted quest as the trophy wanted so I can platinum it. That's what Witcher 3 did to me...actually care about Geralt's decisions and disregard stupid requirements. ....Yep best RPG allright

AJ_Radio
Trine: Enchanted Edition is an easy platinum and with a YouTube guide in hand it's easily doable in less than a day. I definitely enjoyed this game and I look forward to the fourth game in the series from FrozenByte. I still need to play Trine 2: Complete Story which I sometimes hear is difficult and long, while others say it's not that hard. I'll just have to wait and see. Decent trophy profile and not a bad start for a new topic on Trophy Checklists. I can definitely see why you quit out on Slain: Back From Hell. Not for casual players, lots of save scumming is needed.

And Slain : Back from Hell...for that game I should slap myself back to my senses, finish it properly and after that attempt the platinum. Honestly I love the setting and especially the metal but I made the mistake to go for all trophies on my first go...which is gruelling to say the least I do remember it gave you some troubles before too with the "no death run" . Definetly wanting the platinum for it though so...not entirely given up on it. Just not today. The only game I consider giving up on though is Fist of the North Star Lost Paradise. If there is something I utterly despise in a videogame (apart from microtransactions) is insane japanese rhythm games. Hitting a ton of buttons perfectly while the screen flashes is not my idea of fun.
Copanele
No. 61 : Injustice 2 Platinum name : World Destroyer Hardest Trophies : - Winning Is Fun - win 10 ranked matches - Cat Fight - Catwoman must defeat Cheetah with Cat Call Difficulty : 7/10 - People playing ranked are pretty vicious , ranked can't be boosted + massive grinding for getting cat call ability + level 20 with all characters, it takes up alot of time. Personal impression : 8/10 (I have added this game here instead of the Reviews and Opinions original post in order to keep consistency ) Continuing my struggle to get decent at fighting games, I have managed to finish this gem here. Injustice 2, while not as good as Injustice Gods Among Us in terms of story, it definetly surpassed its predecessor in terms of gameplay and content. I believe this is my favourite Netherrealm game to date, also one of the best fighting games I have ever played. I definetly would pick up this game over any other mortal kombats that's for sure! This game follows the events from the first Injustice, in a world where Superman is imprisoned. The Insurgency lead by Batman is trying to help the world recover after Superman's dictatorship, however things don't go as well as expected. With the new threat coming from a supervillain organization and Brainiac, Batman considers freeing Superman to help him battle these threats The combat suffered a huge overhaul. It's massively improved compared to its predecessor. Combos can be stringed together way better and smoother ,you can still pull off insane 50% damage combos. The roster is bigger with more interesting heroes and villains alike ( I still can't stand Wonder Woman though) . Even the DLC is something that I welcomed since they brought up guest characters like Starfire, Black Manta , Ninja Turtles, Subzero and Raiden (It's a Netherrealm game after all) and my favourite Hellboy. From all the modes available the most interesting I found to be the Multiverse : a Tower based system like in Mortal Kombat where you fight for items and in-game currency. I love how diverse they are (most of them are references to DC comics ) and the modifiers you can encounter in each level. The game also has a RPG-like gear system, where you win various equipment pieces that give you stats and buffs. A nice addition but playing online with them is not fun at all since most high level players have some insane builds. Luckily you have the option to play with equipment disabled. You can even customize an AI version of yourself to fight for you. Speaking of online, the game is still populated. Ranked especially is full of strong experienced players, they really forced me to get good at this game . Objectively the hardest trophy is here as well , since ranked cannot be boosted. You need to win 10 Ranked SETS ( a set has 3 matches, best 2 out of 3 wins). Opponent disconnecting doesn't count as a win so you need to do it legit. Luckily , online portion being very solid , I really enjoyed doing this one and felt full satisfaction when I unlocked the trophy. The less fun part... levelling each char to lvl 20 and winning as catwoman with cat call. While levelling up chars can be done fairly easy using the guide for XP farming, getting cat call for catwoman was one of the most infuriating trophies I have ever had to deal with, mainly because I had to praise to the almighty RNGesus for a drop. I eventually went for the Legendary Multiverse which guaranteed the catcall drop but the conditions for activating it were atrocious. Half of my playtime went towards getting this stupid skill , especially the 3000 minutes played as catwoman and dealing 3mil damage overall. Not fun, my poor laptop almost caught fire while remote farming these. In conclusion, I recommend this game as a solid fighting game, really enjoyable to play. However be prepared for a long grind if you decide you want to platinum it. I probably should get to work and finish Injustice 1 already. THE GOOD: - top notch graphics - combat is fluid and varied - balanced characters - DLC characters are very fun to play - lots of customizable options THE BAD - online can be heavily dependant on the loot you get from Motherboxes - insane amount of grinding for Catwoman - enemies can abuse the "disconnected means no win for you" issue in Ranked UPDATES - Finished the main story of AC Origins. Although the story is nothing out of the ordinary again, Bayek might be my favourite AC protagonist up to date. Sorry Ezio! Bayek is just very well fleshed out. I am also happy with the direction AC series went to, the old games were getting stale and the franchise needed a jolt to get back to work. What I also appreciate gladly - discovery tour. BRAVO UBISOFT! Maybe the AC series is not the most consistent but when you give me real lessons about ancient Egypt WHILE generating ancient egypt as faithful as possible, you really get me impressed. A triple A game with a history lesson? Sign me up! (for instance I learned a great deal about mummification while seeing the NPCs performing the action itself. Also cats!!!!). Will add more once I platinum the game,it's damn huge though. - Finished the 1-10 section under Reviews and Opinions. Not the best reviews , I kinda suck at writing ,they are more opinions if anyone is interested. Currently at reviewing 15 so section 11-20 will be done soon - Updated a small section with " Currently playing" . I should cut down on fighting games ,they don't do well for my mental health - Added a "Series Ranking" sublist, will add there more once I platinum several series. Assassin's Creed is next , need only Origins and Oddysey to finish. More stuff to come once I have completed another game. Thinking of doing Demon's Souls again on NA version and probably clean up my backlog of the DMC games on PS3. UPDATE 2 - finished 11-20 , it was tough but finally done. - I have started platinuming all the ps3 backlog( oh god why) Edited December 9, 2019 by Copanele
Copanele
No. 62 : Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag - PS3 +100% DLC Platinum Name : Prizes, Plunder and Adventure Hardest trophy : Main game - Commited To The Cause - reach level 55 in multiplayer - hardest = try not to die out of boredom while farming for Wolfpack mode DLC and the game overall - Sacred Land - be the MVP with Jaguar in domination hardest = Ubisoft Servers are your most dreaded enemy for this crap trophy. Even with boosting it's incredibly stupid to connect. Difficulty : 4/10 - connectivity issue, game itself is really easy Personal Impression : 8/10 I finally platinumed + 100% completed the ps3 version of AC4 black flag. Completing this game first on PC then PS4 , a third run of the game was noticeable easier but also more boring. Although I have started with this game on PS3 I left if for last due to PS4 having an improved remastered edition. Anyway onto the game : Assassin's Creed 4 takes place into the Golden Age of Pirates. THE GOOD : - Piracy ahoy! - Best naval combat in a game ever made - Caribbean seas are beautiful - Interesting multiplayer modes THE BAD : - Present time story is an all-time low - Edward Kenway is not really that interesting - Templar villain is another cardboard curly moustache evildoer, although his presentation is interesting - Connectivity in multiplayer is Ubisoft quality - horrible - Freedom Cry DLC is dull and uninteresting Edited November 18, 2019 by Copanele
Copanele
No. 63 : Dante's Inferno + 100% Trials of St. Lucia & Dark Forest DLC Platinum Name : Master of The Inferno Hardest trophy : Poetry in Motion - 666 combo, main game It's in The Trial - finish 25 1p and 15 2P EA trials in the Trials of St. Lucia DLC Difficulty : 2/10 main game, 4/10 with DLC Personal rating : 5/10 main game, 7/10 with DLC After lots of trials and tribulations(aka I am very lazy) , I finally managed to get out of PS3 hell with this game. In this game we follow our main protagonist Dante Alighieri( the angry templar guy ,not the poet) in a quest to save the soul of his beloved Beatrice from the clutches of Hell, all while smashing thousands of demons with his Holy Cross and Scythe. On the way to hell , Dante is helped by the advice of the poet Virgil that tells him bits of lore about each level (or circle). The first major feeling that I had from this game is that it's an edgy God of War ripoff. Dante's movements and combat feels straight up from an adventure with Kratos. Similarities stop here though because compared to the infamous blades of chaos , Dante has two main weapons : The Scythe that he took from defeating Death (yeah, I know...death died) and the Holy Cross of Beatrice. The Scythe is...a scythe, nothing interesting, if you played a game like Dark Souls you know what a scythe's moveset is. It also acts like a grappling hook for reasons but yeah boring weapon. The most interesting one though is the Cross. It's the medieval equivalent of a holy machine gun and I kid you not I laughed the entire game while I PEW PEW'd the demons. You fire white crosses in a spread and you can also absolve the enemies with it. Deus Vult unlimited. It might be one of my most favourite weapons in videogames, pretty memorable. From regular "shotgun" attack, to a holy area of effect, this cross is simply FUN. The game has also a magic system but apart from the Divine Shield( grants you invincibility and health regen at max level) none of the other spells are memorable enough. Graphically this game is impressive for its time. Hell looks like SHIT (in a good way) , each Circle is represented by its own sin quite perfectly ( Greed is a huge molten golden lava where greedy people get boiled). Too bad that apart from the wails of the damned, the sound is nothing memorable. I have no idea what the soundtrack of the game is and I personally didn't care to find out. The story starts pretty well but it suddenly turns to shit. Dante , returning from his holy crusade( ahem) finds his lover Beatrice kinda abit dead and with her soul stolen by the main man Lucifer. Vowing to save her, Dante jumps straight into hell. On the way to the final circle, we find out who Dante really is, what's the deal with Lucifer and why he needs Beatrice's soul. Issue is, the story is said so poorly that no matter what I could never take it seriously. Paired with the final boss fight where you see Lucifer in all his "splendor" that made me do a massive sigh while i spammed cross on his ... ass. This game had potential but whoever imagined the story setting had some edgy issues. Apart from that... the game was pretty bland in my opinion. I played it on easiest difficulty setting at first ,the amped up the difficulty for the second playthrough(I needed it for extra scythe upgrades) and apart from demon hp and damage nothing changed really. The game started up pretty interesting but really for me the first two areas and the first 2 bosses are the only fun parts. I lost interest after that mainly because the whole script felt like an edgy take on the Divine Comedy (and that book was edgy at its time). The DLC however is another story. Ignoring the stupidly high price for a DLC AND the Dark Forest DLC (really what the heck was that?) , the Trials of St Lucia is the only aspect of the game that I've genuinely enjoyed. I didn't 100% them (postponed the 2P trials with a friend) but mostly they are really well done. The 2player ones especially, you can't mindlessly mash buttons and clear enemies, for some levels you have to think of strategies (Looking at you , explosives only level that keeps chucking enemies off the cliffs). Honestly I could get rid of the game and just have the Trials and I'd be happy. That's what I wanted from trials : Challenges. Also the community is VERY active, you can find a ton of player-made Trials, all ranging from genuinely hard trials to medals-only trials. You won't get dissapointed in this aspect. All in all, a pretty meh experience. Don't regret playing this game but after the final Trial trophy I doubt I'll ever touch it again. The game that is. STILL BETTER THAN DMC2 ! THE GOOD: - combat is solid and works - a functional copy of God of War - Trials of St Lucia are tough and actually fun - THE HOLY CROSS - Vergil is badass - Various ghosts you collect on the road to absolve/punish THE BAD - still a copy of God of War - Dante deserves a punch to the face - Story is dumb - Combat gets repetitive - Too much edginess on one screen - Satan's dong Edited November 18, 2019 by Copanele
Copanele
No. 64 : Demon's Souls (NA version) Platinum Name : Toughest Soul Trophy Hardest Trophy : Soldier's Trophy - all unique weapons collected - World Tendency is still one of the stupidest mechanics in a souls game, glad online is dead. Difficulty : 3/10 (second DeS platinum) Personal Impression : 8/10 I covered my initial impression about the game in entry No. 5 (my initial platinum) . This platinum would be around my 25th ish run in the land of Boletaria. Knowing the layout of the game and the several intricate mechanics that a newcomer would be lost in, I went in headstrong and prepared to ruin everything. I still got my butt kicked in world 4 and 5 but it wasn't as bad as the first playthroughs ever For my weapon of choice I decided to go with Sticky Compound LongBow. Paired with heavy arrows and a decent investment in Dex, game became trivial. Most enemies would die in one shot. The fatter enemies would die in 2 shots. I also used some duping for materials ,souls and arrows because as you might know, this beautiful game is plagued by some dumb mechanics and decisions so I decided to bypass the headache. As usual the best world is world 3 Tower of Latria, kinda one of the best horror levels in a non-horror game. Jesus that level is creepy to the max! On the opposite spectrum , world 4 and 5 are beyond crappy, especially if you are used with the Dark Souls 3 speed. To note, 5-2 is the original Blighttown/Farron Keep. Those levels have nothing on that bullshit of a valley of defilement. Bosses...apart from Maneaters who are really dickish, they were trivial really. Special shoutout to False King Allant for still being a badass but with a bow you can even stunlock the AI of bosses, notably flamelurker. At one point he decided to stop in his tracks and ignore me while I was pelting him with arrows. World Tendency is still crappy. Without a guide good luck figuring that mechanic out. For the black phantoms I strongly recommend investing in at least 16 STR and get the Dragon bone smasher. The black phantoms (required for a ring) hit like a truck and can very well one shot you depending on your build. This is not a solid impression , more some random rambling about a game i've played a lot of times to obsession almost . Still it will be a very dear game to me and maybe in some time I will attempt the japanese release for my third and final platinum. But until then...time to focus on other games THE GOOD : - Tough but fair - The Bosses are top notch - Beautiful lore - Solid gameplay - Various way to approach maps in any order - Stockpile Thomas is a bro - Nexus and Maiden in Black are awesome THE BAD : - Clunky due to old age - Some sections are stupidly unfair unless you know the layout by heart ( World 4-2) - World 5-2 Edited November 18, 2019 by Copanele
Copanele
No. 65 : Call of Juarez Bound in Blood Platinum Name : Ace of Spades Hardest Trophy : D-Day - Destroy all the rafts before they land worst trophy by far, i'd rather replay Very Hard mode again than to try and nail all the rafts with the stupid cannon. Difficulty : 4/10 Personal Impression : 8.5/10 My first FPS platinum is a western shooter developed by Polish company Techland. I have played this game on PC initially ( and finished it 5 times ) so I was very happy to find it on PS3 as well. Perfect opportunity to platinum it! Call of Juarez Bound in Blood is actually the prequel of the original Call of Juarez ( XBox and PC only) and tells the story of 2 brothers former Confederate soldiers turned outlaws , Ray and Thomas McCall and their wild west adventures while searching for the legendary Gold of Juarez. It is the typical Spagetti western trope that involves gunslingers, mexicans, a beautiful woman and cursed spanish gold. This game was a blast to play. The PS3 controls felt really good and sharp(still won't beat a mouse but oh well..) which surprised me and the graphics hold up very well to this day. All accompanied by the traditional Western tunes with some guitar riffs for extra ambience. Honestly I loved the entire US-Mexican border setting. Gameplay wise, in most missions you can choose with which brother you wish to play : Ray , the dual wielding dynamite tossing muscle gunslinger , who can take more damage but ain't that good at long range, or Thomas, a nimble guy who can use his lasso to climb to inaccesible places and jump over obstacles , rifle expert(aiming gives you extra range) but can't take much damage before dying. Some missions you are locked with one of the brothers but most of the time I preferred playing as Ray just because he is a freakin' tank and the range is not that problematic in the first place. You can use a rifle with Ray as well. Worth of mention is that there are 2 levels in the game where you have free reigns over your gameplay. While all the regular missions have a target to reach, in these 2 missions you have an open map and you can do whatever you want. You can pick up to 3 bounty contracts, you can go search for hidden caches of money or assault poor peasants. It's a welcomed sandbox experience and it is sad that they didn't developed further on that part. Multiplayer is surprisingly fun and it's a shame nowadays it's a dead mode. You have several modes to choose from (Wild West Legends was a favourite ) and basically all modes it's lawmen vs outlaws. Farming for the 1 million dollars with a boosting team ( thanks guys! ) didn't feel boring at all and even by playing legit you can have a ton of fun also!! Provided you can find players that is. There are minor issues with the game. Sometimes the environment just dissapears into thin air, on Very Hard mode the AI can be very cheating (spamming dynamite that one shots you) and the third brother William is a real nuisance. Although he is there only to tell the story, I really hated him, he is way too wimpy. But besides those minor nitpicks, Call of Juarez Bound in Blood is definelty a must play if you enjoy both shooters and western themes. I only wished they would remaster the first Call of Juarez on PS4 or bring back Gunslinger. Call of Juarez the Cartel can die peacefully like the trash game it is though. THE GOOD: - a true Western experience - guns are fun to use - the most fun multiplayer I've had in a while - Ray is a badass - brother combo works wonders - the intermissions where you go bounty hunting are a delight THE BAD: - Thomas is not as good as Ray gameplay wise - William deserves to be shot, he's an oblivious little shit - original Call of Juarez is not available on consoles Edited November 18, 2019 by Copanele
Copanele
No.66 : Deadpool (PS3) Platinum Name : Ok, you can sell the game now! Hardest Trophy : Know DP? Know Madness - Finish the game on Ultra Violence mode Difficulty : 5/10 Personal Impression : 7/10 as a game, 9/10 as a comedy. Deadpool is an "unique" action game developed by High Moon Studios whose protagonist is none other than the famous Merc with a mouth Deadpool. As you would expect, this game does not take itself seriously at all. Deadpool is notorious for always breaking the 4th wall, full of jokes and puns and treating everything with a dose of insanity. One of the best examples of this ridiculous game is when you reach the Death level, where Deadpool and his lover Death herself ( Deadpool can't die ,get it? ) go around in some ancient tombs while blasting clones, collecting treasure and talking with Deadpool's inner mind (DEADPOOLIO THE AMAZING part). Story doesn't matter here. Big bad boss is Sinister and his army of neverending clones. All perfect reason for mr DP to shish kebab everything and everyone. Of course, the X-men cast show up together with the best time traveller in Marvel history, Cable. Honestly the interaction between Deadpool and Cable are some of the funniest moments in videogames. At one point even Cable in all his seriousness adopts Deadpool's methods when shooting and blasting. Gameplay....is pretty bare-boned although flashy. Melee weapons are fancy and you have lots of special moves(all which can be bought from the skill upgrade tree in exchange of coins), however the real damage dealers are the guns. Even the basic pistols ,after being fully upgraded, can 2-shot most enemies. However without Deadpool and his antics the game will be one big borefest. Imagine Asura's Wrath but with Deadpool. The trophies were most of the time a pain. Especially the combo ones, the one that requires you to jump through a sewer without falling into the water(nasty trophy) and the Ultra Violence mode. In Ultra Violence mode the most dangerous are by far the machine gunners. One can kill you in 2 seconds, imagine being attacked by 12. It wasn't my most favourite part of the game for sure. Besides, Deadpool's antics became abit boring on the second playthrough. You also have challenge mode where you fight waves of enemies but the mode is pretty simple if you upgrade all your weapons. All in all a pretty decent game, good to have lots of laughs. While gameplay is forgettable, the comedy is top notch. Sadly this game has been delisted therefore you can only grab it physically. THE GOOD - the humor - Deadpool's antics - really, just Deadpool antics - the X-Men and Cable THE BAD - without Deadpool this game would actually suck Edited November 18, 2019 by Copanele
Copanele
💯 No 6 : Guilty Gear Accent Core +R Hardest Trophy : Gold Order - Finish Survival Mode and defeat Gold Order Sol Difficulty : 6/10 Personal Impression : 9/10 After gruelling struggles , finally 100% on Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R has been achieved. This is easily the best Guilty Gear game in the franchise (sorry Xrd , XX iteration is still the best). After lots of patches and updates, this is the final most complete version of the XX series you can ever find. Most important : Justice (the cheapest character of the series ever) has been greatly toned down and balanced so she can be used in proper fights. I had a lot of fun completing this game together with all the story mode paths but MAN survival was tough! Without proper planning and a dash of luck that trophy is impossible! However it is VERY fun and honestly all that hard work finally paid off(attempted survival over 20 times, it's really discouraging to fail at stage 920/999). Also the final boss Gold Order Sol is stupidly strong. Sadly online is dead. Truth be told I have bought my second PS3 just for this game alone so I had to boost with myself. However back in the glorious online days this game was a blast. Loved 100% ing this game. Way more exciting than most of the platinums that I have. I don't think I would have a wanted a platinum on this one, it's more charming like this. THE GOOD - the most complete Guilty Gear XX version - solid gameplay from the time when you had to git gud - Dizzy is still bae THE BAD - only on PS3 - Japanese companies would rather seppuku than do a decent netcode Edited December 24, 2023 by Copanele
Copanele
No. 67 : Devil May Cry (PS3) Platinum Name : Platinum Trophy (inspired, cute image though) Hardest Trophy : Combustible !!! - Finish the game in Dante Must Die mode Difficulty : 6/10 Personal Impression : 7.5/10 I covered my impressions about this game on my original post, when I first platinumed this game on PS4 ( see entry No. 24). So... instead I will just rate the bosses from worst to best as I encountered them on DMD mode. 8.Special Mention : The camera - Easily the worst boss in the entire game, most of the times I died because the stupid camera went bonkers just by moving around. Not to mention that targeting the enemy makes the camera try (and fail) to go behind you. All in all...better have some motion sickness pills cause you are in for a ride! Griffin 2: The reason why I consider this to be the worst actual boss fight in the game is because : You are on a ship, cramped space, Griffin flies 75% of the time and you can't hit him while he pelts you with lightning attacks, when he lands on the ship you better be on the mast else you are toast and what's worse, he shoots an orange lightning attack at you that acts as a magnet of some sorts. When it hits you, you get launched in the air helpless and you get additional damage. Only by shooting that thing you get rid of it. Not to mention that the camera again doesn't help at all. 7.Nightmare 3: The final Nightmare fight is the second hardest in the game. While the first phase is pretty decent (even if Nightmare swallows you , you fight against a weakened version of Nelo Angelo, even more reason to do lots of damage), at some point Trish starts to shoot lightning at you from afar. Even worse, once you kill Nightmare, SURPRISE! He recovers 25% HP, leaves his orb wide open (his only damaging point) and starts shooting lasers and slime everywhere. I hope you have a spare untouchable because else you will be dead instantly. Extremely cheap and unfair. On top of that Nightmare has the bad habit of sucking your DT runes, activating Devil Trigger itself. 6.Mundus 1: After all the hacking and slashing, the first fight against Mundus is...shoot'em up IN SPACE. You also have the Y axis inverted, making everything very confusing. It's a very stupid fight, Mundus has a shield covered by 4 rune balls that you must shoot, all while he covers the screen in bullets, debris, lightning and a mega laser of doom that shaves off half your HP. Even by blasting down his shield, shooting him does little to no damage, you have to actually activate your DT to fire some lame dragon at him. AND EVEN THEN it's recommended to have a full DT bar to fire at him , firing a dragon only with 3 DT runes does pathetic damage. Just spam all the Devil Stars that you collected over your playthrough here and be done with it. 5.Griffin 1/3: Compared to the abysmal Griffin 2, fights 1/3 are pretty simple. Griffin is a decent boss fight, however its worst part is that on fight 3 he flies off the screen. You have to climb a collosseum while avoiding a barrage of lightning in order to actually kick him off and do decent damage on him. 4.Mundus 2: By far the hardest fight of the game. All of Mundus' attacks can just obliterate you. He has a huge array of attacks ranging from flying shooting orbs, meteor showers, wave attacks, a straight punch, lava and summoning a dragon to do his dirty work. The dragon is the best since killing it gives you back 50% of your hp bar. This is an endurance battle, make sure to spam untouchables when he gets to 25% of HP. Make sure to collect ALL untouchables on Normal and Hard and save them for this final boss. 3.Nightmare 1/2: Despite being a pretty dangerous boss, Nightmare 1/2 is quite simple really. Just circle him, let him do his weird attacks then when his core is vulnerable spam charged Ifrit hits. Go hit the rune circle so he materializes then rinse and repeat. Pretty simple stuff. If he swallows you don't worry, kill the mini-boss (Phantom or Griffin), that will take a huge chunk off his health. Patience will solve this fight. 2.Phantom 1/2: The first boss you will actually face in the game and the first boss to actually kick your ass, Phantom is an iconic enemy in DMC lore and the one that introduced us to Dante as a cheeky demon hunter. While Phantom has lots of attacks which pack a punch in DMD mode : Equip Sparda and Helm Break his ass (literally). He will go down pretty fast. 1.Nelo Angelo 1/2/3: Best boss fight in the entire game. Facing your dear corrupted brother gets better and better each fight. The final fight especially when Nelo drops his stupid helmet and starts throwing summoned swords and meteors at you is one of the most clenching moments in the game. He is fast, he is tough and he can be defeated only by mastering everything you have learned in the game. Just make sure you can control the camera properly before facing him. That is all for now, a great game of the golden PS2 era. Really a blast to replay it! THE GOOD: - the beginning of a legendary franchise, with a compelling main character - tight combat for the time it was released - awesome bosses - aerial gunplay - soundtrack and atmosphere THE BAD: - camera is the true boss of the game; worst I've ever seen - underwater section is lackluster - final fight against Mundus includes an atrocious flight section Edited November 18, 2019 by Copanele
Copanele
💯 No. 7 : Skullgirls Encore (PS3) Hardest Trophy : Skullgirls - Complete the tutorial Difficulty : 4/10 Personal Impression : 8,5/10 I have only recently discovered this cute fighting game and I must say I am very impressed! Everything, from the wacky artstyle, to the awesome jazz music and the surprisingly consistent combat, really appealed to me. The story of each cast in the game is some dark story said in cute lights (I feel sorry for Peacock especially). The combat is surprisingly deep. The hardest trophy Skullgirls asks you at one mission to deliver a 15-17 hits combo. While it was difficult, it was one of the most satisfying experiences in the game. Sadly due to DLC characters and the limited content, I can't give this game more than 8,5/10. HOWEVER It convinced me to buy 2nd Encore for PS4, heard that one is truly awesome and tough as nails. THE GOOD: - tight combat and mechanics - beautiful unique characters - hand-drawn animation - one of the best tutorials ever THE BAD - story could use some development - best to go for Skullgirls 2nd Encore for the full experience Edited December 24, 2023 by Copanele
Copanele
No. 68 : Jotun - Valhalla Edition Platinum Name : Worthy of Legend Hardest Trophy : Perfect Valhalla - Defeat Valhalla Mode without taking damage Difficulty : 8/10 - Heavily RNG dependent, Valhalla Mode will kick your ass Personal Impression : 8,5/10 A truly personal favorite, Jotun is one of the best indies I have played in later years. In this game you are playing as the young viking woman Thora, who has found herself into the Eternal Norse Void Ginnungagap. She is tested by the Norse god Odin and has to defeat several powerful entities called Jotuns in order to prove herself worthy to join her fellow warriors in Valhalla. From the first moments of the game I could tell this will be a game for me. The whole world and the Jotuns are hand-drawn frame-by-frame, accompanied by beautiful ambiental music according to the world you are exploring. The whole narration is in icelandic which contributes to the atmosphere even more. Each of the world is perfectly represented as it was depicted in the old Norse legends : Jotunheim is a green covered by nature world, while on the other hand Muspelheim is a lava filled area that looks like the inside of a volcano. You can also find many references to old legends, such as Brokkr's Forge (the place where Mjolnir was forged) or the Lake of the Nine where the World Serpent resides. In combat, Thora can use her trusty axe : She has a light attack, a heavy attack (that can be charged and timed) and a roll attack. Also she can collect various artefacts called Apples of Idunn that increase her life and several God powers : Thor gives you lightning damage, Freja gives speed and so on. Thora will need all the help she can find in order to defeat the Jotuns : Elemental giants that each have specific attacks according to the area they reside in. Fighting the Jotuns is the bread and butter of this game. Each Jotun has 2 phases, getting more aggressive the more damage it takes. In order to defeat them you need not only to be skilled, but to also figure out the proper way to defeat the Jotun. For example, when fighting Ise the Frost Giant (the one on the cover of the game), getting his life to half will turn the entire area to ice -> means you will slip every time you will try to run. You need to know how to "slide" in order to not get flattened by the Jotun. The game also has Valhalla Mode , basically a boss rush and the hardest part of the game. All Jotuns get 3 phases and some of them are infuriating to defeat, especially given the conditions for 2 of the gold trophies : Shun the Gods (Use no powers ) and Perfect Valhalla (No damage taken). The bosses can be attempted as many times as wished, in any desired order. Personally, I found Kaunan to be horrendous in Shun the Gods and Hagalaz in Perfect Valhalla. Their attacks are purely based on RNG and I found this to be the less enjoyable part of the playthrough. Still, it's a really great game, I really enjoyed it. I plan getting the other game made by the developers, Sundered. Heard it's just as brutal but in Lovecraftian universe. THE GOOD: - beautiful hand-drawn animation and an accurate representation of Norse mythology - Thora is a compelling character - Icelanding voice acting - interesting levels with awesome bosses THE BAD: - RNG based attacks can get really frustrating especially in Valhalla Mode - Left me asking for more Jotun Edited November 18, 2019 by Copanele
dieselmanchild
That’s a really amazing trophy collection you’ve got there! Nice to see another trophy hunter who doesn’t pad their collection with a bunch of garbage games stacked multiple times. All the games on your list are great, and many of them are very impressive platinums as well. Keep up the great work man!! ?

Copanele
No. 69 : Devil May Cry 3(PS3) Platinum Name : Platinum Trophy Hardest Trophy : Hell Hath No Fury.. - Finish the game on Dante Must Die mode Difficulty : 6/10 - Although the controls are very refined, DMD mode will test your limits PERSONAL DIFFICULTY NOW : 1/10 - Boy I can play this game eyes closed. Do you even Jump Cancel Starfall Beowulf bro? Personal impression : 9.5/10 . SSS rank - best action game I ever played Ok so, I guess people who know me already know what I feel about DMC3. If you want more insight please check entry No. 25, no reason to write it again. Instead, I will note down the boss ranking + some tips underneath for DMD mode, just like I did in DMC1 entry: 14. Arkham : The only crap boss of the game. A blob of some sorts after failing to assimilate Sparda's power(he's a dumb bald human, what did he expect?), he just flails around and spawns some weird...flying snakes? with crazy tracking, really hard to dodge. After taking a set amount of damage he bails out and spawns a ton of disgusting eels that just love tackling you. Best part of the fight is that at 50% HP vergil joins the fight and helps you. Overall a forgetful boss. Tips : Do make sure you have Kalina Ann equipped for the nasty eels and Rebellion. Other weapons do pitiful damage. Also Vergil can be controlled with a second controller if you wish, it is stylish. Jackpot! 13. Gigapede : A mediocre boss, Gigapede just runs around the arena from worm hole to worm hole, eventually spitting various energy balls at you. He is an easy opponent, just make sure you aren't stuck on the floor level. Either ride him or stay on the other platforms to avoid his ball attacks. Tips : Jump on him and attack his head only for max damage. The purple orbs can be reflected back ,that also deals massive damage. Beowulf recommended. 12. Damned Chess board: While this isn't a "traditional" boss fight, you have to fight an entire chess board. It's really unique, each piece have their corresponding moveset (pawns get changed into other pieces at the end of the board, King can Castle with the Rooks, you know the usual chess rules). Problem is that on DMD mode this board can get VERY annoying. Tips : Beowulf only, target only the king. Try to kill only one Rook eventually. Then focus only on the King. BE MINDFUL OF THE QUEEN'S CACKLE! If she does that , she is targeting you. 11. Jester : Compared to Arkham, Jester is a way better boss. He is ANNOYING as all clowns are! He either dances, slaps his butt and...spawns a fuckton of electric balls while mocking you. You need patience and honestly the trickster style to avoid all that barrage. On later fights he summons a huge ball that spits explosives at you. Tips : Beowulf + Charged DT release. Try to dish out as much damage as possible, this is an attrition fight surprisingly. 10. Hell Vanguard: The "fake" tutorial fight. Hell Vanguard is basically Death that has 2 attacks : Scythe swipe ( you can reflect that attack for style build) or teleportation up to 3 times depending on where it spawns. It's the first boss that teaches you the mechanics of the game. Tips : Uhh...learn the mechanics? Anything goes, honestly if you can't beat this boss...better replay 1st level. 9. Geryon: The time horsey! Geryon is quite the challenging boss, it draws a carriage and has several time stopping skills. Also his fire storm summons are quite nasty. Good part, it drops the super fun Quicksilver skill. Tips : Jump on his carriage while he is running around and just spam Beowulf. When he stops Jump Cancel Beowulf on him and be mindful of his time stop skills. Also do not rush. Trickster works best in this occasion. 8. Lady : Probably the second best Lore fight after Vergil. Lady is surprisingly tough considering she's just basically a schoolgirl with bazooka and machine guns. Most of her gun attacks have a knockback effect and her missiles track insanely well. The only annoying part is that she runs like crazy half the fight. Tips : Take your time, don't rush, use rebellion Stinger to keep up with her. She has pitiful health anyway (she is a human after all) 7. Doppelganger : Time for your evil-self fight! Doppelganger is your shadow that attacks with either Rebellion or Dark Beowulf. The interesting part is that you cannot damage Doppelganger unless you get him into the light. Luckily on the walls there are numerous shut eyes that will open with enough dealt damage. Just attract Doppelganger near one and open the eye, he will get stunned, perfect moment for you to dish out damage with Beowulf(light based weapon, the others don't work as well). If you manage to open all the eyes, Doppelganger gets stunned a very long time and gets more damage. On DMD that's impossible though. Tips : Beowulf as usual. Also when Doppelganger shoots charged attacks you can reflect them back. Careful, he can do that too so you just ping-pong for 5 times until he can't reflect anymore,it deals massive damage. 6. Leviathan : Rather his hearts, this...boss fight has 3 parts : 2 side hearts (left one drains your red/green orbs and right one drains your DT) and one main heart that opens after either of the side hearts falls. It might spit lasers or energy balls. You need to kill the main heart, the side ones just regenerates. To make matters more complicated, several grunts spawn indefinetly. Tips : Focus on the right side heart. That will prevent draining your DT, also it can be JC ed with Beowulf. 5. Agni & Rudra : The first 2v1 fight, one controls wind while the other controls fire. Quite a tough boss honestly, but also a very good boss which unfortunately suffers from the drunk cameraman effect. Just be on your toes here, they don't have specific weaknesses. Tips : For this one pick Cerberus and Beowulf. Use Revolver on either of the bosses to parry their attacks until they drop their sword and then punish time with Beowulf! Make sure you beat them both at the same time, when they combine their swords the boss gets 3 times tougher, you do NOT want that. 4. Beowulf : A really tough fight. Beowulf himself has several punch attacks, drops cages from the ceiling, 2 AoE attacks and a really nasty far ranged feather missiles attack. He is really fun to fight though, mastering him takes several playthroughs. Tips: For starters, his eye takes increased damage and stuns him for a while(careful,he flails). Apply the Dark Soul strategy of "get behind him and smack that booty". ALSO KEEP NEAR HIM AT ALL COSTS! If he runs away too far he will use that feather attack which does massive damage and it's damn near impossible to dodge. Use only Rebellion on him. 3. Cerberus : The ACTUAL tutorial Boss, Cerberus teaches you how to fight DMC3 bosses. It has 3 heads duh, each head has different attacks, has a charge move,a maul move, a swipe move...all you can eat buffet. Tips : Ebony and Ivory to clean off the ice from the heads. Either Rebellion with Swordmaster mode(aerial rave) or Beowulf JC on the heads. Don't Rush. Preferrably keep the Ice Floor head alive for last. 2. Nevan : LET'S ROCK BABY! God I love Nevan. Who doesn't truthfully? She is a Vampire Demon who drops the sickest guitar in all videogames. She has a ton of attacks ,3 phases, lots of electric moves, too many to describe. Tips : Bait her Spinning attack, after that she starts laughing abit, perfect time to dish out damage to her bat shield with Rebellion. After the shield falls, DT release + Beowulf. In her 3rd phase she drops her shield and chases you to suck your DT dry : Jump, spam E&I for a while then JC Beowulf on her. 1. Vergil : Best. Boss. Ever. Vergil is mirroring you in all his fights : Fight 1 is only him with the Yamato, fight 2 brings Beowulf to the side and fight 3 spawns Force Edge+Yamato. His DMD fight is VERY tough, lengthy and can last forever. Remember Vergil in DT mode recovers health just like you, be mindful when you use your attacks! Tips : There are none. Just Git Gud, his 3rd Fight is one to remember! That is all, thank you DMC3 for giving me all these fond memories. By far the best action game I ever played. THE GOOD: - Dante - Weapons - Story - Combat - Bosses - Everything THE BAD: - Pizza got stepped on by demons - Arkham is still a shit boss Edited November 18, 2023 by Copanele
Copanele
No.70 + 100% DLC : MK XL Platinum Name : Platinum Trophy Hardest Trophy : Keep it Secret - Find a secret fight in Secret Tower Difficulty : 5/10 - a mixture of annoying trophies and grindy online part Personal Impression : 7.5/10 After the succesful reboot of MK franchise with MK9, Netherrealm continues the saga of ninjas, shaolins and weird aliens from other realms in this new installment. MK X takes place several years after the events of MK 9 , where the Elder God Shinnok tries to take over the realms. It;s up to the Kombatants to stop him. First of all : The story is crap. The story has never been MK's forte, but my god it's so dumb in MK X. The newly introduced characters Jacqui, Kung Jin and that annoyance Cassie cage fail to replace the main cast. Only Takeda the "adopted" shirai Ryu ninja saves the mood with his antics. But of course, I won't dwell too much on the stupid story where Johnny Cage is the "chosen one" , sooo let's move onto the main stage : The Kombat! And boy did I enjoy the gameplay in this game. Graphics have been finessed, the combos and hitboxes have been reworked, it's a joy to slam the poor suckers into the ground or uppercut them into the sky. No complains there, every character (well maybe except D'Vorah) is competent and if you invest time you won't be dissapointed. The game supports also a solid tutorial and lots and LOTS of game modes, a VERY good netcode and proper connection. Not to mention, the DLC characters are quite impressive too ! Alien vs Predator? Check. Leatherface vs Jason? DOUBLE CHECK! Even Tania and that stupid Bo Rai Cho are a delight to play as. However there are things that pissed me off. For starters, I had to wait for a full mega discount on MK XL to buy it, it was plagued with microtransactions at launch. Horrible to buy when it first launched. Then, THE KRYPT. Honestly TO HELL WITH THE KRYPT. Shoot the idiot who decided that jumpscares are fun. At least they improved it big time in MK 11. In terms of platinum difficulty, this game is annoying. Not as time consuming as mk9 (that one is one hell of a beast), but there's lots of time based events : Secret Fights(good luck finding a tower, you have to wait 1 week for it to change), finding modifiers(hourly towers), that STUPID KING OF THE HILL GRIND PLEASE GET RID OF IT and 10 wins in a row in ranked which gladly it can be exploited. Also the "no combo with Bo Rai Cho " trophy in Ranked, You really have to pray some poor sucker that cannot block will join you so you can spam uppercuts. It's a lot of "gambling" involved in the platinum, which wasn't really to my taste. At least it was harder than MK11. Also... MK is not my cup of tea. That's why I give it only a 7.5/10 which is "good" in my books but not enough to want me to return to it. Currently at the bottom of my list in terms of fighting games. But I won't deny it, I had my share of fun while playing it. Especially that 10 combo with each character trophy, it was delightful. THE GOOD: - Tight combat - better than MK9 - Finally a decent connectivity - Tons of modes to enjoy - Huge character roster + DLC THE BAD: - Lots of event based...events (waiting 1 week for premier towers is annoying) - Story is stupid even by MK standards - Annoying new cast - especially Cassie Cage Edited November 18, 2019 by Copanele
Copanele
Since the end of the year is coming, time to revise what I have to complete and priorities. This is mostly made so I can better keep track of the important stuff. Therefore : UPDATE 1. Completed more "Platinum Opinions and Impressions" section. Reached plat 45, writing is quite slow and lazily at some parts (since I can only write during work). Best to complete them and then I might edit the parts that I don't like. Still, 46-60 will be a ton of writing since there's some games that I truly loved, naming Witcher 3 and DMC5. 2. Multiplayer focus. I do wish to complete all the MP trophies just so I can enjoy the beautiful SP campaigns ( I am not a big fan of multiplayer). Therefore, a list with games, in order of their priority (of course PS3 is first): PS3 1.Batman Arkham Origins(Boosting needed) 2.Blur(Boosting needed) 3.Mortal Kombat 9 PS4 1.Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- 2.Ultra Street Fighter 4 (Boosting needed) 3.Street Fighter 5 4.Overwatch(Boosting probably needed) The focus will be mainly PS3 since servers won't be up forever. So far the worst offender is Arkham Origins, the MP is so bad it's a wonder how it's still up. Blur requires extra skill but at least it works properly. MK9 while horrible to boost (KOTH respect points), the second ps3 will greatly help. PS4 can wait, I doubt they will kill any server any time sooner(not sure about Guilty Gear, but then again Accent Core is still up and that's a PS3 title). After all this onlinery, the aim is to complete all PS3 titles within 1 year and 1.5 months so I can finally put the console to rest. PS3 was great but for what it can offer to me at this point, I am better off playing the titles on PC. 3. Milestone decision. I believe ultimately I will pick the games that I had fond memories on PC as my milestones from now on. Except Asura's Wrath, I do have platinums that were beautiful PC games back on the day. Therefore, I will clearly focus on Titan Quest as my 75th plat and Mount and Blade Warband as my 100th. Let's see if I can hold on to my promise though That is all for now, gotta plan in advance for next days. Focusing on community events (how I love them, they really are fun), which means...more anime games. Ugh.
