Ina announced she is coming back in January, while Gura says she is taking a break for health reasons. HoloEN is definitely in a health crisis. Not to mention a lot of them catching ligma recently. 

 

I also see that more people started P5R like Irys, Zeta, and Reine. Clips from these streams are filling up my feed. I hope they are ready for 15+ streams of this game ahead of them ?.

Kiara is back! Seems like she feels a Lot better, i'm happy for her even if lately i'm not watching her much because what she plays doens't really interests me. Glad Ina is coming back too soon, i miss her relaxing streams and clips!

 

Personally i'm not watching that much, not many streams or clips that catch my attention as of lately, even the Weekly Funny moments i watch yesterday was like 80% kobo so i didn't botehr as i alwready said it's the only Memeber i don't like watching, if i wanna go watch a Meme person i'll go on twitch then.

 

As Slava said Reine started P5R sadly the bad version so i'm not watching any, Irys instead Oh, i would gladly watch if she didn't stream late night for me, hopefully there will be clips when she continues it!

There have been lots of Christmas-themed streams this past week as you would expect. I've seen so much Christmas karaoke especially. ? It's all unarchived, but Mumei, Fauna, and IRyS did one. I also saw some of the Christmas karaoke streams Airi and Nene Amano did, the latter of which is still up. I think IRyS' karaoke was my favourite because she sang a bunch of songs unrelated to Christmas, but would insert stuff Christmas-y words in-between some of the lyrics to make them into Christmas songs. It made me laugh. ? We also got a couple of song covers. Snow Halation by Gura, Ame, Kiara, and IRyS. Then there was a cover of Suki! Yuki! Maji Magic by Mumei, Fauna, and Calli.

 

 

I watched IRyS the most out of everyone this week. She did a couple of other Christmas-themed streams, like the ugly sweater contest. She had people submit a picture of their sweater, and at the end, chat got to vote on who they think should win in each category. She then did a follow up stream where she would draw icons for the winners and they had to use it as their profile picture for at least a month, or something like that. ? And not Christmas-related, but IRyS also started Persona 5 Royal like the other CHAD Cast members have. She played it for a good 6 hours, so it seems like she's enjoying it. I think she kinda had a crush on Ryuji, who's voiced by Mamoru Miyano, and she would lovingly refer to him as "Ryu-kuuun". ? She put everyone in their swimsuit outfits towards the end. ?

 

Mostly just zatsu's from Mumei this week, but she also did a collab with Baelz where she read out letters to Santa submitted by viewers which was probably the highlight besides the karaoke. Fauna was on break, but she did upload a series of YouTube shorts about a ghost girl which were pretty good for GFE reasons. ? Then there was Pippa who did a good number of streams, with the most notable one probably being the one where she explored Christmas traditions around the world. A good chunk of it was dedicated to Japan's love of KFC at Christmas and she made us listen to the commercials for it that had the same song in all of them. It was stuck in my head for days. ?

 

But yeah, it's too bad about the Gura thing. She's the only member of Myth I still watch these days. I guess in some way it's nice knowing that her lack of streams these past few months have been down to health issues rather than her being burnt out and not wanting to stream. I hope it's nothing too serious, and that when she does return, she'll be at full power. As for Ina, I'm curious to see if her return affects Fauna's views. She's grown a lot recently and I think some of that is down to takodachis switching to her while Ina was on hiatus.

I think for all members it's just the Flu season hitting + Wanting some relax on holydays.

I don't think it will affect much, i enjoy Fauna but she streams too late for me that's why i don't follow her so she and Ina shouldn't be at the same time, for me Fauna stream at 1-2 AM While Ina 11 PM Sometimes even 10 that's why i follow and watch her! She's the Only US Member with a Friendly EU Time. (I guess maybe Calliope too? but she's not my style aside Her Music and clips)

Fauna's usual timeslot for me is 11PM which is actually the earliest of all the HoloEN girls I watch. I just had a look at the last couple of schedules Ina put out on Twitter and it looks like her usual timeslot is 10PM for me, so it's only an hour earlier than Fauna most of the time. Still too late for you? Either way, their streams are going to overlap a lot once Ina comes back, so fans of both are going to have to choose unless they watch both streams at the same time.

Well you are 1 hour earlier than me, 11PM would be already "late" most days except the weekend, Midnight is surely too late for me aside from Friday and Saturday. I Got to bed Usually around 11:30/11:40 PM having to wake up early.

So yeah 1 hour does make a Difference, Ina is sometimes at 10 PM for me too actually. 

I guess for the Fan stuff of who's following both it's not the best sure but i doubt they're gonna stream always at the same time and day so one could mix them, when there is to choose, well one will choose  I Basically only watch Kiara properly since she streams at good fridnly EU times so, not really a problem

 

If i saw correctly on Twitter i think Krooni is getting a New Outfit in 2 Days! I'm curious to see it!

I watched Kronii's new outfit reveal. A casual one, as expected. Looks cute, I'm just not a fan of that hair style. She also got her own glasses. Fubuki is probably celebrating.

Apart from the already mentioned off collab stuff, there was a New Years karaoke as well that was unarchived. Earlier though Fauna and Baelz played Mario Kart 8 but Mumei was sleeping so she didn't join in since I guess it was like 8:00 in the morning for them ? But the clips I have seen from it are pretty good like how Fauna and IRyS teased Mumei with their ASMR voice. Mumei is quite lucky to be able to experience it in person ?

 

 

Beyond that, the only other thing I watched was IRyS playing Gundam (and still is as of writing this). She had an issue where her stream was lagging a lot and had to go to .png but it seems to have solved itself thankfully.

 

I got to watch more of Yuko Yurei though. The only things I saw live was her playing Warzone 2.0 and Crash Bandicoot 4 where in Warzone she was being a toxic gamer ? But I saw her other VODs like playing Risk of Rain 2 and SpongeBob: Battle for Bikini Bottom. Now that I've been able to see more of her I think I will try to watch her regularly when I can since she seems to play good stuff with some variety of things I haven't really seen others play before. Plus with Gura's absence she's filling the cheeky brat void ? But along with that she did a collab with Pippa that I will go into below.

 

Around Christmas, Lia did a handcam stream of her making a gingerbread house and of course she made it in her own way by having "fuk you" spelled on it among other stuff ? Later in the week she did a "rating anime girl scents" stream where she reviewed the scents of anime girls through some kind of thing I guess you can order online that comes with aroma stuff but I'm not sure how it works. But basically she smelled different types of anime girls like for example apparently Gyarus smell like cigarette smoke and something else I forget but apparently it was really bad ? Not my Gyarus though. I bet Polka for example smells like perfume and other expensive haircare products so I will just chalk it up to her getting the bad kind of Gyaru smell. But along with that she had another that I think she said smelled like strawberries or something and then at the end of the stream she said her room "smelled of pussy" ?

 

She also streamed on Twitch watching a German forklift safety PSA (not the stream but the video for context) that apparently got her in trouble with YouTube despite it not really being that bad. She also took a test to see if she was forklift certified ? She did raid Lumi afterward though, making it the first time I got to watch Lumi live and she watched the video as well. I guess Lumi was doing a 24 hour stream since she was just talking and then left random videos from some channel on while asleep.

 

The most I saw of Airi was she played Hypnospace Outlaw but going from her Shorts she seems to be playing Warhammer 40k games on Twitch like Space Marine which is cool but it's a shame it's on Twitch since I only watched Lia on there because she was forced to by YouTube. But it's nice that Airi is playing Space Marine at least and seems to like it enough to make Shorts made from jokes off the series ?

 

Pippa tortured herself for our amusement played High on Life and it went about as one would expect where she got annoyed by the non-stop talking and references thrown at you constantly. I honestly couldn't see myself playing that without either wanting to turn it off after five minutes or just completely zoning out because of all the constant noise the game has from everyone talking so playing for over an hour is a feat in of itself for me. But for the stream she turned herself into a freaking pickle!

 

 

It truly was the funniest shit I've ever seen ? ?

 

She later did a stream with her daughter Sena Bonbon where they rated viewer submitted fetishes and did a collab with Lisa from Tsunderia. The only other stream apart from a New Years stream where she mostly read superchats was her ghost hunting collab with Yuko where Pippa had a handcam of her interacting with a Ouija Board potentially cursing herself, Yuko, and everyone watching. However in turn whatever spirit may be haunting her now is also cursed by having to look at her disastrous desk filled with Coke bottles and other drinks that aren't even empty and have potentially been there for days, possibly weeks, so perhaps the curses cancelled each other out. On top of that she also ate Lunchables and could have probably burnt her house down because she was lighting the snacks with a lighter and candle ? But that said, it was a pretty good collab since her and Yuko hit off each other really well to the point where they wanted to go to an actual haunted house together and do a stream there since Pippa got her interest by mentioning some famously known place that's said to be haunted. So if that happens I'm sure it will be good ?

New Holostars EN members. They're not given a new gen name, I guess because it's only been 5 month since Tempus debuted. The EN management is somewhat following in the footsteps of NijiEN that had also decided to strike the iron while it's hot and introduce two generations of male VTubers only a few months apart.

Haven't been watching much since the Kronii's outfit reveal. I see that most HoloEN members and some ID visited Japan and did a bunch of off-collabs. Skipped all of them of course ? (maybe I'm too engrossed by Persona 3, maybe I'm just not feeling it, not to mention the internet connection is misbehaving as well), but I've seen a lot of clips. Especially the ones with JP members. Looks like the stream they did with Subaru and Lui was a gold mine for clips.

 

Also, saw clips of Holo members talking about Ina. She's doing well, and apparently she was the first to hug every EN member. She collected all Infinity stones ?. Only a couple of days until her comeback. I'll be sure to be there.

 

In terms of what I have watched, just a couple of things to mention. Commissions open with Magni, having Ollie as the guest. The drawing was probably the craziest (kureijiest) one so far, Ollie's imagination is wild. The coversations were also all over the place, at one point they were talking about the types of shrimp, one of which can see 3 times more colours than humans, and another one that can move its little claw so fast that it heats up water to thousands degrees at that moment. Bruh.

 

The stream I just watched now (the message reading part is still going) is Koyori's singing until 800K subs karaoke. I enjoy those usually, this one was fun too. She sang Marine's "I'm Your Treasure Box" as well as Polka's "ぽ" of all things. I always notice how at least 200 people try to sub exactly at X99,999 during these streams, and how the number goes down slightly afterwards. Sometimes it goes back below the milestone number, although I don't remember the last time that happened.

 

Other than that, just bits of other things, like Calli's P5R, a little bit of Pekora, some Kiara, etc. Some Vesper clips too - his story about being stabbed was hilarious.

New Year, still enjoying Hololive :3

 

Even more later i should say, i've been watching a good number of clips in the last days, more than the last weeks, the new year Show with all Pekora was simply Awesome, i'm glad a lot of great clips came from there! Then there are soem Off collab as you guys said with Fauna Mumei, bae and so on. Kiara is staying at Calli's home in Japan in this days, and this was a nice exchange to see  (Ignore the Baity Thumbail)

 

 

But most of, lately i'm really into the Hololive music! I Catch up with some i had to still listen like "I'm Your Treasure Box" from Marine and boy it's an awesome Song, and a really funny one when translated  I'm a Lot into "Let's play dice" by Bae and "Capsule" By Calli & Suise, Boy Susei is incredible there. I listened even to "Fever Night" & "Do u" by Kiara that i missed and to her Cover of 4Blood, which eh, i'm not a Kira songs fan maybe that's why. Do u it's nice, nothing i love to, while Fever night it's amazing! Such an '80 vide which i always love ina song! 

 

Without posting too many mroe videos i'll leave here what probably is my favourite Hololvie song (Lately for sure), i cna't sotp listening to it, it's incredible! 

 

 

I Wish Kanauru Release a Full MV, the short one is incredible, i recommend to check it out! 

I came to realize i love jazz based song with a Casino theme lately since this and "Let's play dice" are among my favourite song eveer and "Whism of fate" in P5 is my actually my favuorite Video game song ever  

 

Hololive released also a Song Mashup that is simply INCREDIBLE! It's awesomne watching memebrs with other outfits and singing the other's songs! In particular i LOVE Moona (Still best Voice in Hololive in my Opinion followed by Suisei) singing Pekora Voice (And in her oufit ) and Hachaama singign Marine's song it's just perfection! I would actually love a full cover of her because damn that part i think it's even better than the original! 

People are also really happy with Miko's part i see, personally it was the weakest part instead for me, Miko in Suisei oufit it's strange to see. And she sings indeed well but it's lacking kinda that powerful tone and voice Suisei had (And i like), she has a softer voice, it's clear when even she joins in my opinion.

Great Hololive song medley ?. Moona singing Pekora's song was probably my favourite moment. I need to listen to the rabbit's music more.

 

It inspired me to make my top of favorite Holo songs. How it works: I divided it into Top-6 and the rest of Top-12. Besides that, they are not ranked. There are more songs I liked, of course, but these are the ones I listened to the most compared to the rest.

One song from Marine, and not "Ahoy!! 我ら宝鐘海賊団☆", I am a heathen, I know. Unison resonates with me more, and I spent much more time listening to it.

 

Gura's Reflect was perfect: brilliant idea, great perfomance. I like her music collabs too, but I want more solo songs from the shork even if they're half as good as this.

 

Moona's High Tide is easily her best song IMO. Outstanding on every front.

 

Calli took two spots on the list. One - with her most serious/personal song (End Of A Life), and the other - with the opposite (Guh). Mori is the Hololive member I listened to the most. Well, she's got a giant discography for being active for just 2 years, that's one of the reasons why. She's also the most unique. While I liked early songs that had the cheesy lyrics, End Of A Life hits different, not to mention that it's also very-well crafted. Guh is a classic Mori fast rap track which won me over with its theme of self-hate and self-roasting. Clever lyrics that flow very well. I'm behing with her music, so I need to catch up with recent stuff she put out.

 

Irys and her tracks landed on the list twice - both the heavier rock ones. I don't know what it is, but this sound fits her really well. I like her lighter songs with their crystal clear vocals exploring all range of emotion too. I just don't listen to them as much as these two. I need to catch up with all her music too, btw.

 

Suisei is the Hololive singer I only really started listening to in the middle of last year. Should've done that much earlier, because she's the best singer among all Holos, IMO. Her talent and her vocals shine the most in Stellar Stellar. Other tracks are fantastic too, so one wouldn't be enough for the list. I had to include Ghost as well. 

 

I like Ina's covers. She never misses. And her original Violet was even better. With its sweet melody and vocals, the track sounds like a good anime ending.

 

Korone's Doggy God's Street is very fun from top to bottom, from the idea to small details. Can't get over the cute "Get outta my way" lines in the song.

 

Reine's Love Me Love Me is one of two songs that came out together. あの青空のせいだ was a song about a shy girl having a crush. Love Me Love Me is about a yandere saying you're destined to be together. The music fits the theme perfectly and comes together into a banger. Had to include it in the list, because I listened to it a lot.

 

Not on the list, but I also want to give a shoutout to Calli's 失礼しますが、RIP♡ which was the first Hololive song I've listened to, IIRC. And Sana's Astrogirl. It's not perfect, but the emotion it carries is very strong. Really well captured in the lyrics and the music.

Between Gura being dead on indefinite hiatus and most of Council being on their Japan trip, I didn't watch much Hololive this week. They did a few streams while over there like collabs in Mario Kart, Switch Sports, and some New Year's karaoke, but that's about it in terms of things I watched live. I did watch a bunch of the clips of the streams they did with some of the JP girls and Reine though. I think my favourite one was when they got to hang out with Subaru and Lui. Subaru got taught the concept of "malding" and Fauna even got nihongo jouzu'd. ? But they're back home now, so things are returning to normal. Mumei did a Q&A stream about her time in Japan and it was nice hearing about all the crazy shenanigans she and the other girls got up to. ?

 

I watched Pippa the most this past week. She did a stream where she went on r/AmItheAsshole and read the insane shit redditors came out with, then put up a poll so chat could vote on who they thought was the worst person in the situation. I think the funniest part was how she'd scroll down the the replies, and without fail, you'd always have some white knight redditor defending the woman OP's no matter how much she was in the wrong. ? Other than that, she streamed F.E.A.R. a couple of times. I'm always happy to see some mid-2000's video game kino. ? I hope she finishes it. She also did a stream where she went on Sporcle which is a website where people can make and play quizzes. She played a bunch of them about all kinds of stuff, although the best ones were the VTuber quizzes she did. There was one where it showed images of the Nijisanji characters and you had to type in their name. There were 110 of them in total, and although I've seen a few of them before, I couldn't tell you any of their names. ? Pippa got 20/110, although she did have some help from chat. 

Yuko from Idol EN did a couple of streams I watched this week. The first one was her 30k sub celebration stream. I like the loading screen she had at the start. ?

 

It was basically a variety stream where she played a few different games, but with a twist in the form of a punishment wheel she had to spin after failing. One of the punishments was her having to take a shot of alcohol, and she ended up getting tipsy/drunk rather quickly. It was really cute how she was acting and she "hic'd" a lot. ? I also watched her play The Binding of Isaac and it was funny seeing her react to the different items and how it would affect Isaac's appearance. ? I think she said that she's gonna play Little Witch Nobeta tomorrow which should be fun. But yeah, Yuko's a good lass. I've been enjoying her a lot lately. She just needs a bit of correction if you know what I mean. ??

 

In a way, I'm kind of glad there wasn't much to watch on the Hololive side of things this week. It gave me an opportunity to check out VTubers from some of the smaller companies. Sticking with Idol EN, I watched a few of Pochi Wanmaru's VOD's, with those being Fallout 4, Lego Star Wars, and Hitman 2. I like what I've seen of her so far and she has a super cute design. She's a shiba inu which is one of my favourite dog breeds. ?

 

 

And to a lesser extent, I've also been checking out some of the VTubers from Kawaii. Nene Amano is the big one. I watched some of her Bloodborne stream yesterday, but for the most part, I've just been watching her YouTube Shorts. She's pretty good at GFE. ? There's also Sava Safari who I've been watching a bit. She's played some pretty good stuff like the original Deus Ex and Morrowind, which I can't say I've seen any other VTuber play, so that's a big plus. I also saw that she did a "Onee-san Gyaru ASMR" stream which activates the neurons. ?

Irys is getting a new outfit, finally. Only took 1.5 years and a model change to get her kimono ?.

 

Ina is back. The first stream after the return was chatting about what happened during the break, the trip to Japan. One of the stories is about her hearing the HoloEN version of Ochame Kinou at Akihabara when she was walking by the stores. What are the chances? So I obviously watched that stream as well as the last one she did before the break the day prior. She has streamed Pokemon and drew a birthday art for Pekora since then.

 

I've also watched Kiara's off-collabs with JP members which were very fun. One with Marine had many clippable moments, at one point Marine impressed viewers with her knowledge of western animation. It's funny that Marine watched Dexter's Lab but Kiara hasn't even heard of it. The other one was with Korone where they played 1-2-Switch of all games. A lot of funny and wholesome moments. 

 

This week so far has been generous with arm wrestling clips for some reason ?. I've seen at least 3 different ones.

 

Outside of Hololive, I've watched small parts of Pomu's MGSV streams. She returned to the game after several months, now she's been playing it pretty often. I can't watch for too long because the eye-tracking and her play style start bothering me after 30 minutes ?. It's nice that she's going to finish the series though.

I guess it shows even more how the problem was the Model Used that didn't allowed work on it easyly. Glad now she has this one, more outfit and absolutelly a better Look, i was right when i said i wasn't a fan of it when she was announced, it's a ton better now.

Kiara is also on a Roll of streams being in Japan and As said by Slava the Marine collab was indeed a Gold Mine for clips, so many amazing moments, like when Kiara got to touch some comfy Peaches 

I enjoyed "Live" a good bit of pieces of the NoefureTakamori Collab too and it was great! I didn't really watch it all because i find Mario Party too slow to enjoy  still it was fun and i watched (And Kinda understood thanks to easy Japanese and Kiara translating a bit) the Arm Wrestle part, one of the many fun moments of that stream  

 

Anyway so far a great Start of the Year personally for Hololive, i have to watch the Clips from Pekora's today stream, a lot fo great moments there too i see! 

And Glad to see the new male stuff didn't affected the Channel i follow, i don't care about them honestly, for Krooni i see onyl clips quoting or with them latelay i don't even bother checking them out to say my level of interest.

Not very much in the way of Hololive this week. A bit Hololight if you will. IRyS did get her new kimono outfit finally after all this time. This will be me whenever someone asks about when she was supposed to get it. But yeah, it looks really nice and I like the star design on it and the wing she has to go with it.

 

 

Even gave a wink at one point ?

 

 

Other than that she played RE7 because it is mandatory that every VTuber under the sun play it at some point and at this point it's probably easier to mention which ones haven't played it ? And I guess she along with others have started playing Geoguesser which I don't really find all that entertaining to watch to be honest. I think it's fine if they find a funny named place once in a while but that's about it.

 

Mumei played some Mario Kart 8, some Geoguesser as well, and Nintendo Switch Sports. Fauna was going to stream something but I guess she's still feeling jetlagged and had a headache so she intends to return soon.

 

Lia has been on something of a Sonic binge lately to where she watched the iconic Guptill89 video where he rates the Sonic characters and makes a proud statement that the Sonic universe should be classified as Hot Chick Heaven. She seemed to really love the part where he says "One, two, button my shoe!" when he gets to the number two spot around 40 minutes in ? She also watched a deep dive video on Ken Penders who I guess made really weird looking Sonic comics for Archie ?

 

Pippa played some Getting Over It and managed to beat F.E.A.R. which was nice to see since she actually beat a game on stream ? I think she said she wants to play Deus Ex next which would be really cool since it's a game I imagine she would like because of how much truth bombs it drops about the government but I guess it depends on if she can get past the RPG mechanics ? She also did a stream where she talked about that Velma series which the less said the better. It was at least fun seeing her look at reviews of it from IMDB and point out the obvious bots giving it 10/10 ratings.

 

On Twitch though she did two watchalongs of public access movies, one of which was Manos: The Hands of Fate which was a movie from the 60's that was considered to be pretty bad but it was entertaining at least. Probably the best moments are when the character Torgo is on screen and one of the first moments with him is where he does like this drunken stumble walk and some bizarre music plays ? The second movie she watched was Plan 9 From Outer Space which wasn't as entertaining and even she was kind of bored through it.

 

Outside of that I just watched Yuko's Saints Row 3 VOD as well as Sava's Deus Ex one.

Calli finally got her wish and was allowed to play Persona 3 after 2 years of requesting it ?. Atlus even sponsored the stream. Watched some of it, and yeah, I prefer FES.

 

So far, I think only Koyori is trying it out among other Holo members.

Stange it took so long, my guess is she wans't allowed to because it would have obviously been Emulated before while now she got the official Remaster. Did she finish P5 at least? I'm sad to see many member started it and so far i've seen only Reine continuing it (I mean i see the Notifictaion sadly she plays it english so i pass) 

 

I'm guessing we'll see a round of trials now for P3 maybe P4 here and there as always, for what i know Subaru Played P4 Golden some weeks ago but i don't know if she finished, i just know because her streams got recommended back then to me  

 

I'm happy there is a new Minecraft server! This game is where some of the best moments come out and so i'm always happy to see more from them :3

I Mean a game on WII U sure but P3 was either Ps2 or PSP i doubt streaming it legally from one fo those two consoles would have been easy, even P4Golden we saw it aorund because of the steam version not the Vita one streamed now.

 

I Mean i hope they finish it, so far the only Hololive member i see actually finishing games is really Reine, single player games. Aside from Pokèmon which i guess being short and mainstream it's not hard to finish. Ah yeah i guess Watame and Korone do finish what they start too even if they mostly play old games for Single ones.

Yeah, I remember when she publicly asked Atlus to let her stream the game years back. Not sure why they didn't let her. My guess is that they already had plans for these ports and figured they could use her to advertise those instead.

I find it harder to say which version I prefer. I don't mind the more visual novel style of P3P as much as some people, although I would prefer the 3D environments outside of the dungeons that FES has. P3P has a ton of quality of life enhancements though, including the ability to directly control your teammates which makes the battles far less frustrating. I also really like the FeMC route which is way better than The Answer from FES imo. It kind of confuses me why P3P gets so much hate. I think both versions are worth playing.

I don't know how far along Calli is into Persona 5 Royal, but when IRyS streamed the game, I believe she said that they're not allowed to show the third semester on stream which was a restriction Atlus had in place when the game originally launched a few years back. So even if Calli continued streaming it, she wouldn't be able to do the true ending, missing out on a sizable chunk of content which is pretty lame. I was hoping IRyS would at least do a couple more streams on the game, but she's seemingly moved on. ? It's been a month since she played it now.

Ah i see, didn't know that, i would say fair if they stopped but hope they finish it themself. Usual stupid streaming regulamentation by Atlus, i'll never understand this stupid rules of now streamign some parts. I can understand the first like 3 months but the game is out for 4? Years, if somebody spoils it it already did so it's stupid not allow it  

 

I can't comment about P3 since i never played it, P4Golden on Vita was my first one, so i can't judge about one version or the others, guess i'll just have to see it now on Ps5

I would probably be fine with P3P if it was the first version I played. But after seeing actual cutscenes and exploring the locations, I don't know if I could go to Portable's full VN style, even if the animations are a litttle simple and wooden in FES. You can't even see all people in the room at the same time in Portable, they're only shown one by one during the dialogue. And details like Junpei holding a flashlight to tell scary stories are likely gone. As for battle commands, they haven't irritated me much. Mitsuru is the worst offender with her status-changing magic, but even then, she almost never ruins the fights. Even without messing with tactics much, it's mostly been fine for me. Maybe it's gonna be a nightmare in the very end though, and I'll change my mind quickly, we'll see ?.

 

So basically, the VN style for this game is a much bigger minus for me personally than the limited party commands.

IRyS got laryngitis and has been unable to stream this week, so we only got that one Geoguesser stream @Redgrave mentioned in her new kimono outfit. It is really beautiful though. ? There has been activity from Gura's Twitter account, but I'm convinced it's not even her and is just her manager tweeting from the account, especially when 2 of the tweets were just shilling a new Gura figure. It sounds like someone trying (and failing) to do a Gura impression. ? I'm also kind of amused that popular HoloEN clips channel Sashimi Clips keep uploading segments of old Gura streams because we're all so starved of content from her. ? But yeah, the only streams I watched from Hololive members this week were from Mumei and Fauna.

Mumei played something called Chicken Feet which is some quirky new horror game where, get this, the thing that chases you around is a giant chicken. ? Basically another streamer bait game from the looks of it. ? Mumei wasn't really fazed by it, especially since it didn't even use it's feet to attack her (false advertising smh). At one point she stopped to talk about a Mars conspiracy theory she concocted, and Susan herself stepped in to make the stream buffer because she didn't want the truth to get out there. ? Mooms also did a JP karaoke stream and is one of those rare instances where a karaoke stream isn't unarchived. It was nice hearing her sing popular songs from anime and such. There were quite a few I recognised but couldn't put my finger on what it was from at the time which kinda drove me mad. ? She had a funny reaction to a super chat towards the end of the stream that made her really embarrassed. It was cute. ? She also played Geoguesser again, but this time with Baelz. I kind of tune out during Geoguesser streams, but I did see they were spying on someone's laundry at one part. ? Oh right, and she also did a drawing collab with Ina, but I can't speak about that one because I didn't watch it.

Fauna played some more of the Northernlion approved video game Slice & Dice. She managed to beat hard difficulty which I guess is pretty challenging. I like the part where she pointed out the "anime m-efer". ? She's seemingly one of the few HoloEN girls still playing the new Pokemon, at least that I'm aware of. We got some good yab moments from that stream, including a part where she whispered the f-word (probably not the f-word you're thinking of). ? She also played some Cities Skylines which was probably my favourite stream she did this week. Things started off pretty normal, but then she started having a bit *too* much fun with causing the disasters. At one point there was basically a pit to hell in the middle of her city. ?

I watched Yuko from idol-EN a good bit this week. She played Bang Dream, proving that she truly is Gura's replacement with those rhythm game skills. ? Lots of great songs in that one, many of which are from popular anime. I was pretty impressed with the game. She actually intended on playing a Hatsune Miku game instead, but the Stinky Switch was downloading the game too slowly, so it wasn't ready in time. She didn't seem to know you could plug an ethernet cable into the Switch dock. ? She did a zatsu stream unlike any other I've watched. A good chunk of it was this weird RP/skit thing where she had PNG's up on the screen. It felt like a fever dream. ? She also did a 6 and a half hour karaoke stream this week, which unfortunately is unarchived, but someone reuploaded it. Some notable ones were when she sang Fortunate Son, and my favourite, Little Girls by Oingo Bongo. She knows exactly what she's doing. ?
 

Pippa's been sick this week, so not as many streams from her, and the ones we did get were mostly watchalongs since she was pretty low energy. The first one was something called D.A.R.E. which I guess is supposed to be some anti-drug movie, but I'm not sure what all the martial arts had to do with that. ? Then there was Velocipastor, which as you can probably gather by the name is a movie about some pastor who gains the ability to transform into a velociraptor (don't ask me how that works). ? I would put them in the "so bad it's good category". They were both pretty damn entertaining. Pippa had mostly recovered by last night and she played something called BlockFront which is some WW2 Minecraft mod. It's actually surprisingly well made and I just love the absurdity of the concept. ?

In other news, fallenshadow made her own official clips channel. In this one, she explains what all women want done to them. It was very insightful. ?

I kind of feel the other way about it. Since I've already played FES, I know what the cutscenes and environments are supposed to look like, so I can fill in the blanks when it comes to P3P's presentation. That flashlight scene you mentioned with Junpei doesn't actually look that bad in portable. He's in the middle of the screen which is lit while the edges of the screen are dim, so it does still feel like he's holding up a flashlight. You can have a look at it here if you're curious. I've been playing the P3P port myself and I was pretty impressed with how they handled the cutscene on the train in that first full moon event. They still manage to make it look like that shadow runs away from you into the next train car and Junpei fighting in the distance by himself even with the limitation of a 2D background. It doesn't look as bad as you'd think.

 

Oh, and getting to actually walk around the city in FES is great and all, but after a while, I kind of just want to get from A to B as fast as possible, so the quick travel feature from P3P is sorely missed. It's been a while since I played FES, but I distinctly remember some frustrating situations where the main character would get a status ailment that made it so his turn was skipped, meaning I couldn't change the tactics on my party to adapt to the situation, then I would die before I could take another turn. And yeah, Mitsuru's Marin Karin became somewhat of a meme in FES where she'll keep using it even on enemies that are immune to it. ?

I get where you're coming from. FES is a great no doubt, but I'm of the mind that P3P is right up there with it. I think the best way to go about playing Persona 3 is by starting off with FES, and then doing your 2nd playthrough in P3P on the FeMC route. It's how Atlus intended it to be.

Looks like the clipper community does this now whenever a streamer is on a long break. Because I've seen clips of old Ina streams when she was gone. Same with fan art. Apparently, her art tags went turbo mode after just a few days of absence. I haven't used Twitter in long time, so I didn't see.

I guess I was lucky then. But I get it. I can think of other examples, like when she does a charging spell when the enemy is just 1 or 2 hits away from death. Basically, wastes her SP, because other party members finish it in the same turn. I SUMMON THEE!

Or they just want to sell the game twice, those sly old dogs ?. P4G and P5R are probably better in that regard, as the latest versions of both look like definitive editions (at least as I understand), so one version is enough in case you skip the original. I wonder how many people will decide to wait for an expanded version of P6, though. 

 

Also, imagine the rumoured Persona 3 Remake being sold in two versions side by side, Pokemon style - male and female protags in separate boxes.
