Killzone Shadow Fall: Ultra High Bitrate Multiplayer Footage

Killzone Shadow Fall has been built from the ground up for PS4, and the response to the gameplay footage so far has been overwhelmingly positive. Unfortunately, there are limitations to streamed video on the internet, and many of the clips and trailers we’ve released thus far aren’t being viewed in the best possible fidelity and framerate.

In order to properly demonstrate the framerate and resolution we achieve in Shadow Fall’s multiplayer, we’ve captured and lightly compressed new footage that we’re not offering through a video sharing service. Instead, we ask that you download and locally view the high-resolution, uncompressed footage directly from from us.

Important note: Please use a video player with hardware acceleration when viewing the footage. We recommend Windows Media Player for Windows users and QuickTime Player for Mac users. Do not use a non-accelerated player (such as VLC Media Player) because the framerate and resolution of this movie are simply too high and will likely cause choppy playback.

Click here to download the video.

The video you just saw has been captured from a multiplayer match on “The Park,” which is situated firmly behind enemy lines near the Visari tribute statue.

As you can probably tell from the footage, Killzone Shadow Fall multiplayer outputs at a native 1080p, rendering uncapped but always targeting 60 FPS. We’re very pleased with how well the game runs, and we can’t wait for you to play it come November 15th.

In the meantime, let us know what you think in the comments below!

Explains why we can't upload our gameplay to YouTube?

I think we'll be able to upload our gameplay directly to YouTube later in the PS4's life. Think about it, if we can only upload to Facebook there will be tons of people uploading and their friends will be able to see how awesome the PS4 looks. It is easy and free marketing for Sony because people that may have planned on buying an Xbone, PS4 later or nothing at all will see the gameplay show up on their Facebook page and it can create a lot more interest for the system.

It looks good, I'm not really getting an "ushering in a new generation" feel from it though.

Looks like a current generation game running at 1080p and 60fps... like a good PC port.  Which isn't a bad thing, but that PS1 to PS2... and PS2 to PS3... jump felt more significant.

Sorry, but it looks nothing like current gen game - there are so many post processing going around, that PS3 would burst in flames in an instant. Of course difference is not so significant on first glimpse - we don't simply increase number of polygons anymore, neither we jump from SD to HD.

Granted, not better than high end PC, but it never supposed to be.

Think of it this way, what if they took Metal Gear Solid 1 and smoothed out some jaggies, upped the framerate, added some motion blur and depth of field and called it a PS2 game? MGS2 upped it's game in every facet, it was like looking into the future.

The game itself doesn't really feel any different than a solid PS3 release... I'm just not feeling that generation jump from this video. Maybe developers just aren't prepared yet to make games that really utilize better hardware for more than fluff and special effects... maybe that's just how launch titles generally are.

To be fair, this is a launch title for the PS4. So we wont be seeing the full capabilities of the PS4 for a year or two. Compare the end of PS2, to the beginning of PS3. God of War 2 on PS2 looks nearly identical to Lair (A launch ps3 game.)

For a launch title though it is damn sexy. I was on about the same thing with a friend the other day comparing Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 to Killzone 3 and Resistance 3, the jump is amazing, I can't even begin to imagine how amazing games will look in avcouple of yeasrs

I never doubt GG graphically wise, the Killzone series always have super sexy graphics, and a nice weighted feel. Does anyone else miss the long range sniping and 32 player matches from Killzone 2 though? Be interesting to see all the new maps in action, and how they play for each weapon type.
