Popular Post MissShake
My regular checklist is here! I'm working on a revamp, so check it out! Recently I've been lurking on this forum and seeing a bunch of cool themed checklists, such as Yuber's Arcsys Fighters Challenge, and I've been insanely jealous. So in an effort to combat this jealousy, and to show off a mental checklist I've been quietly working on, I've made this list! For years I've been challenging myself to get as many fighting game plats as I can manage, with a focus on games that have been featured on the main stage of the popular tournament Evo. Admittedly I'm not the best at fighting games, but I enjoy them so much that it just made sense as a trophy hunter to give it a shot anyway! Rules! As of right now I'm only completing games on the PS4, and only playing PS5 games that I am interested in. No plans to buy legacy consoles are in the works! If the game has a plat, the goal is the plat. If a game only has a 100%, the goal is that 100% even if it has DLC! For now I am only focusing on main stage games. That's already a huge undertaking, but if I see significant progress on this list I'll think about adding other side tournament games... We'll see! If a game has multiple versions to it I only need to get the trophy list for one. Hopefully the last version is what has been completed, but if not well... Oops! However, if I really like a game I might double dip. (Already thinking about you, Under Night...) If a tournament was cancelled because of a certain virus, this will not stop me from completing the game. The lineups were announced, therefore it's part of the challenge! There is no time limit for completing this. I'm honestly not super great at execution heavy stuff, so I expect this to be very slow going. Some of the games may not ever be complete, and I'm okay with that! If you're interested in my regular checklist, I have one that I quietly update here! If I miss a game, let me know! Completed Games! Spoiler Granblue Fantasy Versus Date Obtained: December 2nd, 2021 Years Featured at Evo: 2020, 2022 Challenge: Low Enjoyment: Low Main: I didn't have one because this game's plat sucks. If I got to actually play the FIGHTING GAME in this game, I would've probably picked like Lancelot or Belial. Thoughts on the plat can be found here! Melty Blood: Type Lumina Date Obtained: August 22nd, 2022 Years Featured at Evo: 2022 Challenge: Low-Medium Enjoyment: Medium Main: Vlov for the plat, but I like Miyako's moveset. Aoko, Noel, and Mash also looked pretty fun! Thoughts on the plat can be found here! Dragon Ball FighterZ Date Obtained: October 9th, 2022 Years Featured at Evo: 2018-2020, 2022 Challenge: Low-Medium Enjoyment: Low Main: I mostly stuck with Trunks, Android 17, and SS4 Gogeta. Thoughts on the plat can be found here! Mortal Kombat X Date Obtained: November 7th, 2022 Years Featured at Evo: 2015-2017 Challenge: Low-Medium Enjoyment: Medium Main: Sub-Zero. I really like the guest characters like Jason, Alien, Predator, and Leatherface though! Thoughts on the plat can be found here! Guilty Gear Strive Date Obtained: November 30th, 2022 Years Featured at Evo: 2021-2022 Challenge: Medium Enjoyment: High Main: Ky. I'm down to try other characters though! I love Bridget, Sin, Testament, Leo, Giovanna... Thoughts on the plat can be found here! Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] Date Obtained: June 13th, 2023 Years Featured at Evo: 2018-2020, 2022 Challenge: Low-Medium Enjoyment: Medium-High Main: Londrekia, mostly, because he is pretty lol. Thoughts on the plat coming soon! Games completed before the creation of this checklist include: Spoiler Tekken 7 Date Obtained: June 3rd, 2017 Years Featured at Evo: 2015-2022 Challenge: Low Enjoyment: High Main: I was in a constant character crisis between Alisa, Jin, and Leo. Tekken is my favorite fighting game series, so when Tekken 7 finally made it's way onto console I bought it day one! And before I knew it, the second day of its release was around... And I had the plat. I was shocked at how simple this trophy list really is. Online trophies might be a bit more difficult now since it requires players to win an online tournament, but with a bit of boosting this trophy list is a cake walk. It's fine though, the game is super fun so I really recommend it. The King of Fighters XIV Date Obtained: July 6th, 2017 Years Featured at Evo: 2017 Challenge: Medium-High Enjoyment: High Main Team: Iori, Rock, and Shun'ei My favorite 2D fighter series! This plat is a bit of a grind, so have some friends ready to boost with you! You'll need to complete every type of online match a hundred times, so expect to be online for at least four hundred matches. You'll need to win one hundred ranked matches, win ten consecutive ranked matches, and play one hundred team versus matches. These are the toughest trophies to finish up in my opinion, especially because team versus requires six (!!!) players in total. It's not the toughest plat to obtain, but man... Get yourself some boosting partners! Under Night In-Birth Exe Late[st] Date Obtained: November 6th, 2018 Years Featured at Evo: 2019 Difficulty: Low Enjoyment: High Main: Another character crisis. Mostly between Hyde, Wagner, and Byakuya! I'll admit, I don't remember much about the plat for Under-Night because it was just quite easy. Maybe when I get the newer version my brain will refresh... Ah well, I still recommend Under-Night even without the trophy hunting aspect. The artistic direction is just really cool, and I had a character crisis throughout my time with the game... Just because everyone was so cool! Samurai Shodown Date Obtained: September 2nd, 2019 Years Featured at Evo: 2019-2020 Difficulty: Low Enjoyment: High Main: Shizumaru, Charlotte before my boy came back! This might be a weird thing to say, but if you want to learn fundamentals and aren't feeling like booting Street Fighter up then Samurai Shodown is a great option. The game is about slow, deliberate strikes that do big damage, so you'll definitely learn footsies and the like rather quick. The plat itself is also pretty easy with only one or two modes that can bring any sort of challenge, so Samsho would be the perfect first fighting game plat, at least in my opinion! Soulcalibur VI Date Obtained: October 20th, 2019 Years Featured at Evo: 2019-2020 Difficulty: Medium Enjoyment: Medium Main: Leaning mostly towards 2B, but Seong Mi-Na and Groh were fun! The other Bandai Namco fighter making its return was something to be celebrated, and SCVI definitely has every right to be hyped like it was. I know a lot of people didn't really like the Libra of Souls mode, but I thought it was kind of cool to make your own character and have a bit of a journey with them! It did make the plat a little bit grindy though, I remember going between two locations over and over again to up my distance traveled. Not a bad plat to go for, but it might require just a bit of patience in some ways. BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Date Obtained: November 23rd, 2019 Years Featured at Evo: 2019 Difficulty: Low Enjoyment: Low Main Team: Jin and Yosuke Boring game. I found nothing compelling about Cross Tag. I skipped the story because I'm a weird person who doesn't care about crossovers, all this game really did was make me wonder when P4AU is getting ported to later consoles. (I know the answer is probably never, but I can dream.) Well never mind then! Soon! Copanele
Nice target right there ? I wish you best of luck in your endeavour! Bonus like for the Samsho description, that game truly is the perfect fundamental, spacing and neutral tutorial (amazing game, too bad the online is laggy)

MissShake
Granblue Know-It-All: Unlock all entries in the glossary's Characters and Terms section Okay look. I know this is an easy trophy to get if you downgrade the version, but it took me a while to get to that point. I originally planned to do this on the newest update, with all the DLC characters and everything, but fuck I was getting so bored of RPG mode that I just gave in. I tried one method for downgrading, and it didn't work. Then the way easier way was brought to my attention, and somehow THAT failed right at the very end of my download. This would be fine if my internet wasn't shit and didn't take EIGHT hours to download this game, but hey, eight hours it was. So I tried the easy way yet again, and now I have this bronze. Even with all of this bullshit, I still find it to be way less annoying than playing more of RPG mode.

Heh that stupid RPG mode...I doubt anyone liked it, it was THAT boring definitely not the best Arcsys game out there. And all you have left is that Gacha weapon no? Best of luck, may RNG be in your favor!

MissShake
Luminiera's Blade: Get a Luminiera Blade Omega in RPG mode As I mentioned before, I hated the RPG mode of this game. So I went ahead and just did a bunch of draws from the gatcha system. In total I did it for around four hours, so that was four hours of just reloading when the Blade didn't show up. And even that was better than RPG mode because at least I got to play some YT videos in the background. Which leads me to... Platinum Sky Complete all trophies I hate this game. That is all. ...Okay I know you need more than that. Granblue Fantasy Versus is a pretty game with okay gameplay. I enjoy the fighting game part of Gran well enough, it feels like Arcsys went ahead and made their own Street Fighter. The game is slower than, say, DBFZ, but it isn't quite at SamSho 2019 levels. This might be good for people who like the characters of Granblue Fantasy and want to try their hands at fighting games proper. The problem is this: someone who likes the Granblue Fantasy characters? This is definitely not me. I haven't played a gatcha game in a long time (I played Fire Emblem Heroes for like a month, that's it) and I genuinely have no interest in giving them a run. Cool, fine, just means the mobile game isn't for me, right? Well I left this game wondering why anyone would want to collect these characters at all. I know, cast is pretty, but that seems to be all they have. I immediately got bored of the story in the RPG mode, so I just started skipping the cutscenes. Gran is bland, the blue haired girl is boring, and the mascot character? Kill me, what is it with Japan and annoying mascots? I can maybe count on one hand how many of these mascots actually work for me. Remember when I said I liked the fighting game part of this game well enough? It's really too bad that most of the trophy run for this won't include you playing the fighting game itself. I don't get the reason behind every fighting game developer and their mother making their single player mode a beat em up. It's such a wasted opportunity, I don't play fighting games to level characters up and beat up repeating enemies over and over again. I want to play the actual fighting game of the fighting game, devs! Why can't developers make a story mode where you learn something related to fighting games themselves? Like maybe one enemy is focused on mastering spacing, one that focuses on learning how specials are useful, etc. Prepare your players for playing online! Granted, Granblue did have little side missions that taught players the various moves of its cast, but I'm not going to use these characters in RPG mode when I can only level Gran up and not spread myself too thin. This has me wondering... What's the future of Granblue Fantasy Versus? I had this game on the list because it was supposed to be in the 2020 lineup, but we're approaching EVO 2022 and I'm not so sure that it'll be featured on the main stage. I don't know anyone who plays this game on a competitive level, and I just can't see signups for Granblue being very full. There are better Arcsys games that I am 100% sure will make it onto the main stage such as Strive, so even if Granblue is still getting DLC there just doesn't seem to be enough of a scene for this to make it to EVO. Next in line?
Thedah
Great idea for a checklist! Fighting games are my favorite genre and love to see more people getting in to it. Yuber6969
Congrats! I told you it would be over soon lol. I agree with your review; the actual fighting was decent enough but there was so little of it. I don't know what the hell they were thinking with RPG Mode.
Copanele
Congrats for Granblue! Good review, that's pretty much everyone's impression about that game and they still release a new character Vira or something! Guess the gacha industry is mad strong if they still invest in this game. Also that dragon mascot can burn, such an obnoxious character. 53 minutes ago, MissShake said: Next in line? It feels like the devs weren't confident that fans of the mobile game would play it if there wasn't anything like the RPG mode in the game. Which is really stupid, if the base game is good then I feel like both fans of Granblue and the FGC would have been all in on Granblue. Shame that the RPG mode is SO much of the gameplay. 7 minutes ago, Copanele said: Congrats for Granblue! MissShake
Small update! (Sorry for the double post) Bought some games to add to the pile. The double pack for MK 11 and Injustice 2 is at a steep discount of $25 so... And I forgot I got MKX with PSPlus, so... All three of these game are moving from the To Buy list into the backlog! All I have left to buy is UMVC3 and I'll own everything I need... Until they announce the lineup for EVO 2022. I can't wait until they do, I'm really excited for this year's tournament! scemopagliaccioh
Ahhhh, this is quite the painful endeavour you’re going through. One of my objective was to reach #1 in fighting games in the Italian region of TrueTrophies, so I platted majority of the games here, and I’m very close to some of them (mvc3, guilty gear xrd, p4au, all offline trophies I postponed for now, to focus on online trophies). Some advices: Don’t be like me, and use the cloud save trick on MKX when you’re going for the 10 wins in a row. Injustice 2 has a multiverse for random abilities, said ‘verse changes every 4 hours, go there, check and see if you can gain an ability, use the AI with 30 combos, 30 counters, and of course, good equipment. You can cheese the gold rank in SF5 if you find someone in your region with a mic, I’ll have to be looking for someone too in order to finally knock the platinum. Find someone with a great deal of patience for mvc3, one of the online trophies requires you to fight 30 hours inline, that’s fight only, no time in the lobby, it took us 2 weeks just to get that trophy Don’t spend too much time pressing R1 to gain exp in Injustice, there’s a bug that stops the game from autosaving, at the very least, make a single fight last less than an hour to be on the safe side. Doomsday is also the fastest of the power characters for this.

MissShake
Manipulator of Time: Perform Roman Cancel 100 times while in a match. Ready to Meet Your Maker?: Successfully land a counter hit on an opponent with MAX R.I.S.C. Gauge while in a match. I'm slowly going through some of the miscellaneous trophies for Strive. Not much to say about these two really, but Ready to Meet Your Maker? is definitely easier with a second controller. MissShake
Hi everyone! Great news! Persona 4 Arena Ultimax was announced at The Game Awards! Bad news! This means I have to add it to this challenge! Kill me! P4AU sits at a very low 1.44% plat rate on PS3, and I expect they're just going to copy-paste the trophy list for the PS4 version.
