The reason Hakoom is brought up is because he was the #1 trophy hunter on this website for a long time. This doesn't take into account PSN numbers, which include hackers that cheated most of their games.

 

But I can give him credit because he's been dedicated to the trophy hunting community for over a decade and he's done plenty of hard stuff. Whether he did it himself or had a team of people, we'll never know.

 

Ikemenzi basically just finds the easiest, fastest platinum trophies out there and finishes them the moment they get released on the PS Store. There is nothing on his trophy profile that garners respect from me and it's one of many reasons why I find the leaderboards utterly pointless.

 

Chasing numbers is fine for some people and I'm not going to try to discourage them. But I realized around five years ago that chasing a numbers game was leaving me unhappy. If I kept going I'd probably have around 500 - 600 platinums, 75 percent of which would of easy games that are doable in five to ten minutes. Would of missed out on a lot of great games, and I certainly wouldn't be talking good about trophy hunting in the future had I resorted to the easy stuff.

I'm seeing a buzz on some other forums (I won't mention it) about a supposed limit of platinum trophies on psn, just like the level 100 cap was. Apparently, some modders would have reached that number and it's not possible to go over 8000 platinum trophies, that being the limit. What do you think about it? If this is true, psn will be broken very soon as there are people with more than 5k legit plats.

I doubt there's an 8k limit? Apparently this Owen trophy tracking site (think some Chinese site?) has a leaderboard, and it shows several people that are past this "limit". So, I doubt this is true.

As it’s taken me 8 1/2 years to get 115 plats, It’s not something I’d ever be troubled by. Don’t stress though, I imagine it’ll be fixed by the time it’s ever an issues.

It would be interesting is it was like Vita, and the cap is at 8000 and instead of 100 and users were asked which trophy list they would like to delete in order to fit a new one in.

Considering the average super platinum hunter would have about 7500 trophy lists they don't actually care about. The 100% trophy lists would probably be first to go anyway, to make way for platinum games.

8000 plats, I'd be lucky to even reach 500 in my entire life so it wouldn't affect me. In fact even getting to 100 will be an achievement for me, unless I pass my PSN account down the family generations in the hope that everyone will be trophy hunters and not like my brother who doesn't care about plats
