I posted over 400 trophies this month which is again the highest from everyone tracked. Currently I'm trying to get over 73% before I get midway through the year...

Oh, it's June. We are halfway through... Well that's stuffed isn't it. In any case, aiming to get lots of trophies down before I pop my 500th Platinum.

Last Week

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition 80% -> 100%

 

 

Channelled my inner Pam from The Office this week and doubled my trophy figures from the week before (from one to two!), with the Insanity runs for ME2 and 3 now firmly behind me. Turns out most of the hard work in ME2 was done last week, made it through the final mission without too many problems despite losing a crewmate along the way this time - which although I knew was coming still really annoyed me. Still, that doesn't matter at all. After that ME3 was pretty straightforward, borderline easy in places thanks to overpowered squadmates which was a nice change since the ME2 companions seemed to be made of paper.  The difficulty spike between 2 and the others was definitely pretty noticeable. Managed to get through the final game in a couple of days, complete with 'best' ending (although that's a matter of opinion) with only the last mission causing any kind of problems. A few bits throughout took a couple of goes, but nothing as soul destroying as the shutters or platform sections I had to struggle through in ME2.

 

Glad I eventually got around to playing the collection, not quite sure what took me so long to do it now. Not quite  done in the ME universe though, I still need to have a party. I didn't fancy doing the story part of the Citadel DLC on Insanity, since I remember vividly how tough the final boss was on Normal. Should get through that quite quickly and then it'll be seeing if the 'energetic' party was as great as the quiet one I had first time around.

 

After the last month, I don't wanna be a spaceman (all due apologies to Mr Gallagher) for a little while yet, so after I've partied down I'll be giving Assassin's Creed: Mirage a shot - I figure 9th century Iraq is about as far from space exploration as it's possible to be!

Last two weeks were a bit bumpy in terms of gaming. Do you know that feeling that you just don't know what to play? I ended up playing a couple of different games but only partly. I even downloaded BF2042 again (got the platinum already) to play some MP FPS. Think last Friday I found my groove with a certain game again....but do read on!

 

Sly 2 Band of Thieves - PSVita - 78% => 100%

Finished this one. But this is the last Sly Cooper game I am going to play. Found it too repetitive. Playing with SLy is fun, playing with the other characters is, due to their limitations, just boring. Played 1+2 and 4....3 wil forever stay a mystery for me. But hey ho! Another shiny plat on the Vita is mine.

 

Maffia II + DLC (1/2) -  PS3 - 85% => 100%

AFter more than 13 years I have finally finished the DLC😁. Pretty straight foward DLC, nothing to difficult except for two trophies that required a certain amount of points and milage. You needed to drive 1,000 miles to get a bronze trophy but I was at 110 when I had finished the DLC. Very happy that there was a glitch 😁. You could drove into a shop (the glitch...) and you had a enternal adding to milage and points. With one issue, it went super slow. I had to let my PS3 run for about 24 hours to get to the 1,000 Milage.

 

Dishonored + DLC (2/3) - PS3 - 85% => 90%

Doing the trials step-by-step. Really like them sofar , although I haven't done the super RNG based ones yet.

 

Sir Eatsalot - PSVita - 0% => 42%

Regret, that is the first thing that comes to mind. Regret that I started this from a trophy perspective. Game is nicely made, good art style but the platforming is aweful. Combine that with my lack of skills in platforming I am wondering if I am ever be able to platinum thiis one. But we will see. There is one trophy that is pretty difficult and I will come back for that one after I have finished the game. But apart from the trophy side of things, this is a pretty decent game.

 

Greedfall + DLC (0/1) - PS4 - 13% => 14%

This is the game that caught my attention again. Restarted it and got hooked from minute one. I just love RPG's and the way you have some form of control on your character. Also like it that it is a small studio that build this.  I am at the beginning but will focus on this game in the coming weeks

 

Small Progress

I made some small progress with various games, first of all Rocket League + DLC (8/9)  - PS4 - 92% => 95%. I have two trophies of the last DLC to go and hopefully will be able to tackle that this upcoming weekend. Than Red Dead Redemption 2 - PS4- 42% => 44%, to tell you the truth, I have no idea how to go further. I finished the SP but there is a big chunck of things to finish before I get all the SP trophies. I have found a map that gives per region most things I need to do so I probably do that; tackle it per region instead of trophy. I did got my first MP trophy. And then there is Diablo III + DLC (0/1) - PS4 - 43%, started a Hardcore run in coop with my oldest. Just out of fun but there are some trophies tied to that too,

Starting off the month with a shiny new platinum trophy! And an Ultra Rare one at that. Finished up Eldest Souls this morning and really enjoyed it. Took a little longer than I wanted, but still glad to have it done. It's my first Ultra Rare game of 2024 so I'll actually have an update to post in that thread after 6 months lol. 

 

I also started Metrico on Vita. No platinum, but it's got some UR trophies as well. Hoping to finish it up today before posting an update in the summer challenge thread. Whenever I manage to finish it, that will make two UR games. Now we're cooking! Also looking to start Lone Survivor this week as well to keep that UR train rolling.

 

Looking at my PCG goal, I'm not quite where I need to be. I've got two weeks or so to make up some ground if I want to stay on track for my 5% increase goal.

Weeks 20-22 Update (5/13-6/2)

 

Persona 4 Golden (PS4) (70% --> 100%)

I managed to platinum the PS4 version of Persona 4 Golden just before I left for vacation. With this platinum, I now have the platinum for one version of every mainline Persona game that's released with trophies. I still need to play the first two games, but I'm holding out for possible remakes right now. My biggest complaint about this platinum is that you have to play the game basically to the end twice to get all the trophies. At least in true Persona fashion a NG+ run can be cut down from 90 hours to about 20 thanks to skipping every single text box and cutscene.

 

Taiko no Tatsujin: V Version (0% --> 46%)

I picked up a physical copy of this game while I was on vacation and started it after I got back. The trophy list for V Version is a hell of a lot easier than the one for Drum Session so far. The only trophy I can think of that would give me trouble is clearing 25 songs on oni difficulty, but I managed to get that one out of the way early. Now I can just focus on grinding out full combos and working on donder quest. Hopefully donder quest doesn't throw me too many curveballs along the way.

I finally managed to clear the 57% completion hurdle these past few weeks! Only 3% more until I hit my goal for the year. I was right about not making progress on any Vita games during vacation, too. It turns out when you travel abroad you don't really spend a lot of time playing video games. Honestly though, I think I needed that break. Now I can come back ready to hit the ground running towards a higher completion total. And hopefully I can clear some of those unearned trophies off my list since that number seems to be stagnating. 😅

Finished up patch 6.2 story, so continuing with this. Also was able to solo savage coil T9, finally got those out of the way. Been working on the island, almost level 6. Doing other Misc stuff, just making progress.

 

Fallout 4 (26% -> 48%):

Finished up two ending lines, just have BoS left. I think they are going to be the "canon" ending for me, so I have decided to work on misc stuff, such as collecting all the bobbleheads. I have like... 4 or so, so time to just grind them allll out.

 

So some progress made, but not much. At least I am going towards green lol.

And skipping all the fluff. NG+ carries over your social stats so you don't have to do those tedious things like study and do part-time jobs, especially if you have the trophy for all social links at Rank 10, because you get to keep the key items that let you fuse the ultimate Persona of each Arcana. It's just the superboss and fusing the ultimate Persona for two trophies.

I've got bad news for you, Squirlruler - FFXIV will never be complete as they'll add more trophies. Already they will probably add trophies in three weeks with Dawntrail. 😜

 

Not discouraging you - most of the DLC trophies are pretty good, but focus on the platinum foremost, it'll save your sanity.

Yea, between them and FO76, will be forever going back. I'm kinda low key hoping they add like 50-60 trophies for dawn trail 7.0 expansion lol

I don't think they'll go that batsh** insane, but then again I wouldn't put it past Yoshi-P to do that. It'll probably be, at most, the same amount of trophies as Endwalker DLC had.

May Summary

 

Darkest Dungeon 82% - Spent most of the month playing this game. First playthrough is complete along with both DLC's. Only thing left for 100% is completing the game on hard. The game has been a lot of fun and a unique experience. I'm gonna wait a little bit before my hard mode run, because it can be a exhausting with all the different mechanics. 

 

Tentative plans for June include Alienation, Diablo 3, & Kingdom Hearts 1.

I love surprises unless it comes with extra DLC+ trophies of already completed games 😡.....luckily the DLC that was dropped for Astro Playroom is pretty straight forward. So yeah, that finished game is now popping up my list to finish this year again...oh and as an update; I achieved the first trophy out of 5

 

Sir Eatsalot - PSVita - 42% => 100%

I was able to finish this one this week. The trophy that caused me the most problems, I actually achieved it in my 3rd try after coming back to game a couple of days later. It often works like that, unachieveable at first glance and than with fresh engery it suddenly becomes easy. All in all an okay game.

 

Greedfall + DLC (0/1) - PS4 - 14% => 35%

This is where the majority of my gaming time went in. And I also know now why I stopped playing; it is a lot of 'going to such and such, talk to that person, go to that city, talk to that person etc. '. The fast travel system is not super great and you lose a lot of time with it. And also momentum. Anyway, I am progressing fine and got some missable trophies out of the way. For a game from a small studio it is actually pretty decent.

Tunic 0 > 100%

I loved this game, yes it was challenging and a bit obtuse at times but it is hands down one of my favorite gaming experiences, in probably the last decade. I highly recommend this game and that you play as much of it as you can blind. There are accessibility options too if needed.

 

Prey 84 > 100%

After Tunic, I finally decided to clean up another game from the old backlog. The Mooncrash DLC is a roguelite mode for Prey that I found to be utterly tedious and enjoyed very little of the 24 hours it took. A couple of those hours were from previous half hearted attempts to do this DLC but the remainder were across the last 3 days. I was immensely relieved to have finished it last night for 100% completion after 6 years and 9 months.

 

Astro's Playroom 100 > 94%

Got hit by this too. Don't get me wrong, it's great little game but the timegated trophies are annoying as hell. Right as I complete another game from my backlog, I get hit with: "No, there is another." 

 

Despite the minor setback from Astro, last week was pretty darn good. Have a great week!

Mainly been playing Cat Quest and 911 Operator lately and have been getting pretty far on both of them, should hopefully try and get both done by the end of this week or next week. As for THL, I lost to rik and holidaying Gaz (don't ask) so I don't really have any motivation against Havoc (especially since he just beat Rik) other then to prevent a losing season but we will see how it goes I guess.

Week 23 Update (6/3-6/9)

 

Taiko no Tatsujin: V Version (46% --> 100%)

I got this one wrapped up the other day. As expected, it wasn't really all that hard once I got the 25 oni clears out of the way, just a little tedious. Donder quest was a neat little story mode inclusion, even though I didn't understand it much at all. I'm pretty sure the face buttons on my vita are permanently damaged from all the drumming I did over the course of a week though. 😂

 

Astro's Playroom (100% --> 94%)

Not much to say about this one that likely hasn't already been said elsewhere. I got the one available secret bot trophy; now I just have to wait for the rest of them.

Started off the week with Mirage, nothing too stressful there. Bit of a rough start getting to grips with the controls (the apparent 292 hours I'd spent playing the Mass Effect games before this clearly made an impression on my muscle memory!). As soon as it clicked though, no real problems. Enjoyed it overall, some of the late game revelations were a bit silly but that's par for the course for Assassin's Creed games really.

 

After platting that it was slightly irritating to see my overall percentage hadn't changed and it took a good while to work out why. Another victim of the new Astro's trophies. Think I'll just be leaving it for the forseeable, at least until all these bots are released. It gives me an excuse to finally get the speedrun trophy I gave up on finally ticked off as well, so it'll be something to look forward to.

 

Rest of the week I've been playing Blair Witch, first blind playthrough done - so just two more to go, a collectibles run and a "good ending" run, so that should keep me occupied for a good portion of next week. The last chapter was super intense, but I got through it and finished my first playthrough at close to 5am Saturday night, so was quite relieved that I didn't have to go to sleep in the pitch dark that night!

Oof. I got the hankerin' for some Genshin, but only have my PS5 hooked up right now. I knew my percentage would take a hit, but still, oof. That stung. So, I'll be playing a lot of Genshin this summer to try and catch up. At least the trophies autopop. I'll only have to login on a PS4 after I get them...eventually. Also picked up Destiny 2 again and still sneaking in some D4 everyday too. That's a lot of timesinks! 

 

I made up for some of the pcg loss by getting the platinum trophy in Crow Country. Took about 5 hours total since I mostly played without a guide at first, then used one to look up stuff I missed right before the end. Fun little throwback that's easy enough in normal, and has some decent challenge when trying not to heal much for an S Rank. Also got one more trophy in Metrico.

 

Plans for this week are Genshin, Metrico, and one other quick-ish game. Going to be gone most of the weekend so I've got to make these early days of the week count.

Been working on popping a trophy a day and then going to get the bobbleheads. I have been finding where one is and then go exploring until I find it, which makes it a bit less effecient but more fun.

 

Fallout 76 update is hitting tomorrow, so will probably play that to get my 100% back. Other than that, just keep on keeping on with Fallout 4 and FF14.

Update 5 - May 5 - June 13th

 

I think I've done a little better this time with the updating and it's only been a month since the last update 😂. So, I think I've made some decent progress but I do get a slight sinking feeling whenever I start a new game and see the percentage go down. But it does feel kind of liberating in a sense. I've managed to finish a few games and am now officially on my Road to 50 platinum trophies!🥳 So without further ado, let's update!

 

Still no change on a few games such as Crisis Core, Infinite Wealth and Miasma Chronicles. I'm not touching Miasma Chronicles again and the other two I'm waiting to complete previous chronological entries and to buy DLC for to complete fully. 

 

Powerwash Simulator - 33% -> 100%

Happy that I can finally tick this one of the list but I don't think I'll be going back for the DLC trophies anytime soon. I did enjoy it for what it was but the cleans took wayyyy to long and I only felt like I made any real progress towards the end of the game. 

 

Stellar Blade - 8% -> 100%

Well what can I say, this was an absolute masterpiece. Now I know I say that a lot and I'm easily pleased but Stellar Blade has everything I love about gaming in one. The story, the characters, the gameplay, the visuals and the fun was just amazing and I don't normally play New Game + often but this left me wanting more. Grab it if you get the chance, you won't regret it!

 

Last Stop - 0% -> 100%

I'll admit that I purely played this because it was leaving the PS Extra Catalogue and I found it interesting enough that I didn't want it to pass me by. I actually enjoyed this quite a bit, and coming from the UK myself, I love it when I can play a game based here as the accents and settings always make me smile. A great Sci-Fi story that's a little bit slow at first but soon picks up and becomes a 'oh I didn't see that coming' ending. 

 

Tails Noir - 0% -> 100% 

This is another one I've had my eye on even way back when it was actually called Backbone and it released day one on XGP. I never got round to playing it then so thought I'd give it a go now. It's not a bad game, it's actually quite interesting and had me guessing throughout. The story, characters, visuals and setting are brilliant and the ending confused me slightly but it seemed very District 9, if you've seen that film you'll know what I'm on about. 

 

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake - 0% -> 100%

I was so happy to see this offered with this month's PS+ games! I love a bit of SpongeBob, it takes me right back to sitting watching it at the weekend after a long week of school 😂. A great and fun story and a quick and simple game.

 

Now to jump fully into FFVII Remake for that 50th platinum! Wish me luck! 🙏🏻

Weekly Update Time

Ended up messing about with Fallout 76, as I often do when I can't decide what to play next.

Knocked out the single obtainable new trophy for Astro's Playroom (Very pleased to see this is finally goig to get a full game).

Eventually settled on giving Teardown a go, which I'm having quite a bit of fun with, hoping to avoid looking at any guides for any oif the levels enjoying puzzling out the solutions myself.

Planning to continue playing this, and probably Fallout on and off.

I'm just starting out but I was at 88% until I got the itch to start RDR2 and now back down to 77%. And this game is going to take forever. Good lord the online grind sucks. Only 9 trophies short of the plat for Dragons Dogma 2 so I should get on that and hopefully get back over 80%.
