maneceel96
hey everybody, i hope your day is going good. it's officially September and me personally, i love this time of the year. It starts getting a little colder out and i get those nostalgic Halloween feelings all throughout. Most people go on a horror movie/game marathon on Halloween day or a couple days before Halloween but i wanted to spend the whole month of September and October playing Horror Games, back to back to back. I use the GameFly subscription service so i can't go out and get 20 games at once but please feel free to let me know some of your favorite horror games and what are some of your favorites to play leading up to or on Halloween and i might be able to snag them on GameFly. So far the games i plan to play are - Alien: Isolation - Outlast -The Evil Within - Siren: New Translation (Blood Curse for EU/NA players) - Silent Hill 4 (Maybe) thanks guys and i hope you all have a great day
Killah184
Alien Isolation was one of the better horror games I've played. Only because of the camera/Mic, and it made the game more difficult.
LtNepIffy
Probably FNAF 4. Try and go through that game on Halloween.
Maftet
Depends how easily you get scared or made to feel uneasy at least Bioshock gave me unpleasant chills when I could hear things but not see them. But I agree with JGCC and recommend FNAF 1 or 4. FNAF 4 apparently has DLC that's set for release on Halloween. Or you could have a FNAF marathon and play them all! Amnesia and Penumbra might also be worth a look. Edited September 1, 2015 by Maftet
XchocomanX
Costume Quest 1 and 2
DrBloodmoney
If you have a PC i reccomend Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Still the most dusturbing game I've played.
PleaseHoldOn
Since this is off topic, I'm assuming all platforms are allowed. Started playing an Early Access title called Layers of Fear on Steam. Despite being in development, it's really far along, plays great and is genuinely frightening (I haven't finished it yet, my PC headphones give me a nasty headache if I wear them too long, but I hear it's about 2-3 hours of gameplay). It's also probably the closest thing you'll find to P.T. since it was taken off the store and Silent Hills was cancelled. http://store.steampowered.com/app/391720/ Edited September 1, 2015 by PleaseHoldOn
XIII-Order-Xion
I'll keep my halloween list light thank you, as said above Halloween Quest 2 will prob get another playthrough- I might even dabble into outlast...maybe.
glassthursday
Dead Space and F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
Redgrave
If you want to go with classics you could go with the old Resident Evil games up to 4. And of course the old Silent Hill games. There's also P.T.-- Oh...
Winkuru
If you haven't then Project Zero/Fatal Frame trilogy is certainly worth checking out. Suffering is also pretty decent horror game but i can only vouch for original xbox and pc versions of it. You apparently are already covered on SH front. I wouldn't really advise playing SH4 though because it really is bad. I'm currently playing it and it's just shite compared to previous games on all fronts (music, locals.story etc) and second half of the game is one big escort mission. Can't really think of anything else right now.
Lord_of_Ra
Definitely Siren: New Translation as a start, then Dead Space saga probably afterwards.
Adam-1996-888
Alien Isolation and Slender : The Arrival are my favourite horror games of all time. I will be playing Until Dawn this Halloween.( I got the game on release date, but at the moment I'm busy with MGSV and other PS3 games I've yet to play! )
The_Scruffington
Dead Space and Resident Evil are the only acceptable answers.
Purple Heart
i would have said Until Dawn but didn't like the game
DEMON
I recommend Resident Evil series, Catherine (its a rather unique horror game; although not that scary though, just the bosses look like they are from a horror game), Dead Rising series. Also everyone; he's asking for games he can rent off Gamefly so reccommending a lot of PC games are kind of useless to him because of DRM. I think Gamefly support PS3 and up. damon8r351
Costume Quest 1 and 2. You have to trick or treat at each house in the game to progress through the areas.
kittygirl2010
Until Dawn! Cliche cabin in the woods with a bunch of teenagers but the decisions you make determine if everybody, only a few, or nobody survives! I'm too much of a baby to play scary games so I'll recommend this for you to play lol >.<

PleaseHoldOn
Also everyone; he's asking for games he can rent off Gamefly so reccommending a lot of PC games are kind of useless to him because of DRM. I think Gamefly support PS3 and up. Whoops lol. Though I think the fact even he included games in his list that aren't available on Gamefly (ie. Outlast) and the fact it's in the Off Topic forum should be enough to warrant some branching out. Some folks other than him might appreciate it, we all celebrate Halloween afterall. I stand by my recommendation of Layers Of Fear. Edited September 19, 2015 by PleaseHoldOn
