So do you walk around and look at stuff or are you stuck behind the bench. Graphically is it more like L.A. Noire or Papers, Please? You are behind the bench. No open world here. You have papers you can sift through on your desk, to gain knowledge on the case. When you feel you have enough info, you assemble a list of questions. The gameplay trick is to take a clue, like "written orders" and link it to the corresponding line of questioning theme: method, motive, accusation, evidence, etc. My guess is, you can sway the jury by choosing a specific line of questioning. There is definitely wrong lines of questioning and the game gives you a couple misses before it shuts down your questioning options. Example: you may have six slots for questions, but link the wrong items too many times, and you may get to ask only three questions. Less questions means different verdicts by the jury. So it's vaguely similar to L.A. Noire, where you are trying to connect the correct links. But there's no clue finding. No open world. Haven't played Papers, Please but the graphics are much better then 16 bits. Like @kingofbattle8174 though, I am reading a ton of dialogue bubbles, but there's no audio to pair with it. Frankly, it's a bit strange, and a bit of a miss by the developers. There is audio in the cut scenes, but those are just still images with graphic novel-like pictures. Update on my progress: last night I was able to continue my game at a previous save, so my head is back on my neck. Got a bit farther into the game and there's a new twist to the gameplay. There's a map of Paris and it's sectioned off into zones. Your job is to gain control of different zones using diplomatic means or an iron fist with your thug character. It's reminiscent of a side game in one of the PS3 Assassin Creed games, can't remember which one. Think of the board game Axis & Allies, but much more simplistic, and nowhere near as fun.

That would give you enough freedom to pick and choose the amount of games for the event. Otherwise the only viable option is 7games/4days, so that it's 28 days for the games and 1 to potentially post an overview of the games played. Any other option creates too much of a time gap. Popular Post Kevvik
Game #1: Cosmic Star Heroine Final Impressions Time played: 14 hrs Finished this up last night and since today is going to be really busy, I'll throw my closing points up now. My final points haven't really changed. This isn't a horribly memorable game but it's not bad either. Side quests you get from your teammates by chatting with them later are hit or miss. Some are amusing spoofs of other games like Resident Evil, others are meh. The main storyline was fairly predictable and generic but the characters aren't bad. The game's artstyle worked for me. Downside point, black screen load times when changing areas or book-ending small graphics sequences were frequent and annoying, just long enough to wonder if the game crashed. Only about 5-10 seconds each but after dozens of them, they get tiresome. Overall, an OK game but I won't remember it 3 months from now. Trophies earned: 34/34, 100% for S rank Final score: 5.5/10 Completion Rate: 84.35% (+0.07% for the event) Next up: Game #2: The Bridge

Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #1 - Game of Thrones - Final Impressions Time played: ~16h Trophies earned: 21/51 So right off the bad I got to say, this isn't remotely as bad as the general consensus seems to be. Although I can see why it gives that impression to some extent. Visually it's not great, it's not terrible either. It looks a bit rough, which kind of fits with the setting to be fair. The characters look fine and there haven't been any weird or glitchy animations either. Speaking of characters, hte vocie-acting is solid for the vast majority (so far), the were only a few times where the spoken words didn't quite get the intended emotions right. Furhtermore, the lip sync is largely on point. Story is good so far, side quests are interesting as well. There is no crafting so far (I'm about halfway through I think), there's a whole lot of loot though. Each of the main characters you play gets 2 skill trees with separate skill points (I think there's one more skill tree later on as well). You get to chose 1 of 3 classes, which suggests you what type of weapon/armor is more adequate to use, but you can switch that around later on as you also acquire weapon points and thus get to improve whatever you like. The gameplay is a third-person RPG, in a semi-open world. It alternates betwen two protagonists, who start of on separate paths, but it becomes clear fairly soon that there might be a time when their paths cross.. The game I would compare it to the most has to be Dragon Age. There are a lot of similarities between both games. How they're structured, how they have companions, some with their own little side stories, as well as the combat. Although it might not look like it at first glance, for those who have experience with D&D-like CRPGs, Game of Thrones seems to obide by the D&D combat rules with their vairous "combat checks". It has a radial menu that allows you to pause the game (in this case it's more of a slow motion thing) and select abilities and targets, before resuming the combat, which is the same sustem Dragon Age uses. What makes the combat seem sluggish in Game of Thrones is, that you get to visually see attacks being queued. While in DA there'd be the auto-attack that generally has faster animations and, GoT made the arguably poor decision of putting the basic attack in a queue as well. Long sotry short, I don't dislike the combat, but it could be better. I'm currently about halfway through Chapter 8. The length of each chapter has pretty muc doubled since the 7th. At first they were fairly short, going for about an hour and 30 minutes (I haven't been skipping dialogue). The 7th was almost 3 hours and currently I've spent 4 hours in chapter 8. Granted, I spent about 30 minutes on one single arena fight until I finally beat it. This leads into one of the few gripes I'm having with the game. I get the feeling that some of the fights you'll only win with luck. You will see the small texts "miss", "dodge", "deflect" pop up a whole lot, due to the combat rolls going on in the background with each attack. So sometimes you just have to keep going, hoping the enemy misses several attacks and that you don't. You can't overlevel either to make things easier, because each chapter you're confined in has a specific set of areas, with a set amount of enemy encounters of which you can miss a whole bunch by the way. If that happens, I can see it being a possibility, that you won't be able to complete some of the side quests. So balancing to me feels like it's somehwat off. The time it takes to save and load is also a bit bothersome. Maybe I'm just misremembering how long it generally took things to load on PS3, but it seems longer than usual to me. In conclusion, it's an alright game and I'm enjoying it well enough. A solid from me.
Popular Post kingofbattle8174
Caligula Effect update # 2. So not much more to update. Some things I have noticed are not game ending but irritating. The enemies detection abilities are not very good. Even if they are right next to each other, you don't seem to be able very often to draw more than one at a time into battle. When you are trying to grind, it would help things along. Speaking of grind, I can see where some get irritated, there seem to be very rare drops of some abilities that you need later on in the game. I have gone through a floor like 4 times to get it and nothing so far. Those rare drops are grrr. But it seems you can go back at any time later on to revisit most places. There are some enemies torwards the end of the chapter that are well above your level, and the secret areas that you can access by finding hidden codes. The codes are also extremely rare drops in the game, but they are all public online so those I don't have to worry about. I got tangled up with an enemy only a few levels above mine and after 10 minutes of battle I noticed that I still had not moved his health bar, so I rebooted, I lost maybe a few mins but it almost the end of the first chapter after almost 5 hours, that is with trying to find that ability for a good portion. Oh I did start a side game as well and I will give my thoughts. I was going to play Amnesia, memories last KYC but it didn't happen so I booted it up this morning. So far nothing really different from when I played Period Cube.
RuneEyesDragon
I totally forgot to give my trophy update yesterday. I basically cleared ten levels of an Item World and killed an Item General, then transmogrified my Mage so she could become a Star Mage and use Star spells. She popped the 500 Kills trophy after completing her third promotion exam, lolz. Popular Post AsaraBaenre
Game #1: Beholder Complete Edition - Final Impressions Time Played: 6 hr 45 min Trophies Earned: 23/49 Current Completion: 23.05% (+0.21%) Having played this game before on the PC I knew what I was going into. However, on the PC I never managed to beat a single playthrough. This time around I completed a playthrough (and then went back in saves to try to get different endings, but could never get one where I lived) and I have to say I really like this game. I'll be continuing another playthrough whenever I get the chance to try to get a good ending and then likely moving on to the DLC at some point. I like the visual style of the game, with the shadowy figures only really discernable by body shape and eyes, and it adds a bit of a strange feel to the already dark subject of the game. The story was interesting and the decisions were all tough ones to make. The one thing I didn't like about it was that the translation was a bit spotty in places, with strange grammar errors, and in the few voiceovered sections, there were some mistakes (for example at one point able-bodied is voice overed as able-boiled). But overall it's easy to figure out what they MEANT as opposed to what was said. I got a bit frustrated with some of the consequences for the choices that were made since some of them actually were due to translator errors (something seemed like the right choice or seemed harmless but the actual meaning behind them was something completely different). I think I'll probably be spending another 10 or so hours with the game to complete it, since it seems like a full playthrough took me 7 hours, then there's the DLC which I can't imagine taking the same amount of time. Overall, though, I quite enjoyed the game and I'd give it a 7/10. Next up is going to be GWENT: The Witcher Card Game.
Popular Post AsaraBaenre
Game 2 Preview: GWENT: The Witcher Card Game (July 4th - July 6th) Game Stats: 6,402 Game Owners; 309 (4.83%) Platinum Achievers; 23% Average Completion 51 Trophies (1:platinum:/3:gold:/5:silver:/42:bronze:) Playstation Store Description "GWENT is a card game of choices and consequences, where skill, not luck, is your greatest weapon. Pick a faction, build an army, and wage war against other players. The entire Witcher world is at your fingertips — its mighty heroes, nefarious villains, devastating magic and weaponry are yours to command.Crush the enemy with brute strength or outsmart them with clever tricks — with hundreds of cards to collect, new strategies are always a thought away.." Of course I've seen GWENT in the original Witcher game, and I'm a fan of card games like Magic: The Gathering. I'm looking forward to diving into this, though I'm a bit weary as it's a free-to-play with the ability to buy card packs, meaning it's likely very pay to win. But we shall see! I'm hoping I don't run into that aspect at the beginning as I should be facing off against other free-to-players. It does look like some of the trophies are very unique ways to play matches, so that's interesting. It doesn't look horribly like the trophy list is Pay-to-Plat either.

Out of the online card games I played it's the worst one along with Hand of the Gods). The plat has also become pay to win, as you can only get the foil version of cards from packs now (you used to be able to craft them). I haven't gone back to it in months, so maybe they fixed everything, but I wouldn't count on it. Popular Post SixyLove
Update 004 Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness Playtime: 20 hours Trophies earned: 6/36 20% I played through the game a second time and got a better ending after I figured out fire is bad and leads to instant death. I'm at the point where I've seen most of the story and will be using the skip button on any part I have already seen. I'll mostly be messing around with my choices and hoping I stumble into endings. I played more of the cute puzzle mode that was in my last update. I used the points I earned in that mode to unlock all the bonus dialogue. I've not dared to listen to any of it, out of fear that some really kinky stuff might be in there. I have 1½ days until I have to write a review because I only picked 6 games. "GWENT" I tried stand-alone free-to-play version before I played Gwent in Witcher 3. I didn't understand the game at all, gave up instantly and deleted the trophy list from my account. I enjoyed Gwent in Witcher 3 because it was a" perfectly balanced card game with zero exploits". The only other card game I ever played correctly was Yu-Gi-Oh.

There's a few other games already on my list I'd like to work on completing next month as well, so I'm hoping I will be able to switch between doing some progress for them and playing the games for this event. I generally have trouble switching gears like that, so we'll see! It may not work. In any case, I think I picked some games from my backlog that should be long enough and/or difficult enough to last 6 days should my plan fail and I just end up playing these 5 all month. Here's my list: Sunless Sea: Zubmariner Edition Fenix Furia Blackhole Battle Worlds: Kronos The Long Dark LOL, recent players tracked on this site are 1,1,1,2,1 for these games right now. I really know how to pick the popular stuff. Fenix Furia was pretty fun. My favorite part was the puzzle mode, except for the final boss. :rage: Just know that it's definitely bugged. Popular Post Together_Comic
Game 1: Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas Finishing Statistics Platinums 28 Completion Percentage 80.83 Games Played 43 Games Completed 33 Unearned Trophies 372 Total Play Time 11.5 hours Final Thoughts on the Game So everything I said in my earlier post still holds after finishing up this game and the platinum. The TL;DR is that this is a Zelda-like adventure undertaken by a kid to uncover the mystery of Oceanhorn and find his father. The gameplay is on the whole enjoyable with good music. The game is a bit short for my liking and the story is the definition of mediocre, but the game doesn't have any major technical problems (lag, bugs, etc.) and is on the whole a very enjoyable experience. Some notes on things that I didn't mention previously. There are 4 collectible items, heart containers (12), bloodstones (55), fishing, and cursed skulls (10). To tell you the truth I think there are 15-16 heart containers in the game but you only need 12 for the trophy. Most of these I came across naturally while looking for the second collectible bloodstones. Bloodstones are probably the trophy that is the most grindy. Having to search around for ones you may have missed is kind of obnoxious, but you can buy an item in one of the towns that will tell you when you are close to one and how many are on each island, after that its much better. Fishing is kind of a boring piece of the game to finish. You will need to collect 7 fish and its relatively easy with a guide. The only two fish that are even remotely annoying are the one that one of the other participants mentioned in a post the Bot Fish and the Ghost Fish. The bot fish does damage to you while you catch it, but if you have done the heart trophy it isnt too bad. The Ghost fish inverts your controls. It took me 5 or 6 attempts to get it, but it isn't particularly rare so it wasn't to much of a hassle. Honestly not as bad as I was expecting it to be when I did my preview. The cursed skulls are part of probably my favorite part of the game the isle of whispers. I don't want to spoil it, but I felt the atmosphere and storytelling was at its best at this part of the game. They can be challenging to find if you don't use a guide, but many of them are on the direct path you have to take to finish the island anyway. If your looking for an easy adventure game, with a decent story and an enjoyable experience I'd recommend Oceanhorn. Particularly if you can find it on sell. All of that being said, here is how I'd grade the report card. Story: C+ Gameplay: B+ Visual Appeal: C Audio Appeal: B Technical Quality: A Trophy List: B Overall: B Looking forward to the next game in our Kill your completion event
DamagingRob
@voodoo_eyes See, I really think you made the right choice replacing the game whose name shall not be mentioned with Game of Thrones. If you downloaded it, you should just delete it. Maybe even get rid of the hard drive. Or the entire PS3. It's tainted now. But yeah, I had a decent enough time with Game of Thrones, too. I only paid a buck for it, though, so it's hard to complain for that price.

Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #2 - Onechanbara Z2: Chaos - Preview I don't really have much to say about this one. Apparently it's a sequel to a game I had never heard of, until I stumbled across this one. I don't think I'll miss too much plot though, as it's a hack and slash game from Japan. If the Senran Kagura series taught me anything, it's that the plot goes out the window... along with the clothes. I don't expect this one to be too different from those games. I'd prefer it, if it was more linear like Darksiders/DMC/Bayonetta games though. Edited July 3, 2019 by voodoo_eyes

Popular Post RuneEyesDragon
So I only played for two hours because it was getting perilously close to midnight. Wasted my entire day napping and playing Miitopia. But I did manage to get to the final chapter of Etna mode and get two more trophies, the last one for 1000 kills and I managed to buy enough crap at RosenQueen Co. to get over 10% collection and the Dream Hand. Trophies earned: So... Game 1: Disgaea 1 Complete New Completion: 91.42% (-3.16%) # of Trophies Promoted to Laharl's Vassal: 9 # of Unearned Trophies Festering In the Dark Assembly: 2 # of Hours Played: 8 My Game Review: This game brought back a bit of nostalgia. There were very few changes to the original game save for HD graphics and some remixes of the original music(Running Fire was given a slow intro in its remix), but all in all it was still a good game. (I found that they added the 'hold down a button to skip enemy attacks' option from Disgaea 5 which speeds up battles greatly.) Still great. The Struggle: Well, since I got about 1/3 of the trophies from the meager eight hours I played over three days, I can say this isn't too bad. Of course, the easier trophies get knocked down quickly so that means the harder trophies(like fighting the super bosses) are going to fester for a long time, and since weapons in Disgeaa 1 aren't as powerful at full power as the ones from Disgaea 5, which I will play next, I have a feeling that the super-bosses will require a lot of cheese to defeat them. All in all, pretty standard for a Disgaea game and this is the Alpha of the series, the OG, so going through it won't be too bad. My Rating for the Game: 4.5/5 My Rating for the Trophy List: 3/5 Hardest Trophy Left to Get: Beating all of the EX Bosses (Prinny Baal is going to be a pain, dood!) Easiest Trophy Left to Get: Story trophies from the regular story (I am going to train up my Mage to become a kickass Galaxy Mage with Omega Star and Giga Heal for support before I end Etna Mode. I just got Flonne but not training her until I get her in the regular story.) Edited July 4, 2019 by RuneEyesDragon
