Anyway, my top 10 probably would be something like this:

 

1. Jak and Daxter/Ratchet and Clank sagas 

2. GTA San Andreas

3. God of War 1-2

4. Metal Gear Solid 3

5. Shadow of the Colossus

6. Okami

7. Need for Speed Underground 2

8. Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3

9. Sly saga

10. Kingdom Hearts 1-2

 

Honourable mentions:

Gran Turismo 4, Devil May Cry, Burnout Revenge, The Simpsons Hit and Run, Bully, Manhunt, Tekken 4...

I will purchase a PS2 plus games next month due to a massive influx of nostalgia. So, naming top games is very easy for me.

• Tony Hawk's Underground
• Silent Hill 2
• Gran Turismo 4
• Need for Speed Underground
• Final Fantasy X
• GTA San Andreas
• Dragon Quest VIII (where the fuck is the remaster, Square Enix???)
• Soulcalibur III

 

These are the games that immediately come to my mind. But since I haven't played or owned PS2 since 2008, the list might change once I've built a collection.

The games listed above mark the peak of their franchises. Sure, the games got way better on a technical level, but nobody will actually argue that Need for Speed or Tony Hawk had their peak from 2003 to 2005.

GTA 3 was such a hit when it came out. But Vice City was definitely the best of the best. If they could make a propre Remake of those games and not some shitty lazy remaster, they would sell tons of copies. FFX is my favorite game of all time but it already had a propre Remastered version.

Also if they could do a remake of Silent Hill like they did for the Resident Evil franchise, i would buy it day 1. With MGS 1, they have no idea the goldmine they are sitting on. FF7 Remake sold very well, it should give them ideas.
