It's a lot different than Project Diva, and the set up is hard to follow on a full size TV. I think I could manage it a lot better on a phone or something. Or maybe so much Project Diva (the superior rhythm game series) has just made me incapable of playing any others well. It's probably worth borrowing your own computer monitor - or somebody else's - for a little while to work on the list. It is certainly a lot easier tracking notes on a big screen in Diva than it is in LL, despite both games basically throwing notes all over the screen. Square should have taken notes from Sega. Silly me also holds out a shred of hope for those Love Live DLC song packs to eventually go on sale -- playing the two base game songs 999 times is not my idea of a good time.

DAMN Billie, you been busy! ? Quote Resident Evil Village: Easy. Mercenaries. I don't know how I managed the first one, but I don't think I will EVER be able to S Rank the 2nd version of Heisenberg's Factory. Not because it's even hard combat-wise, no, it's bc I have the sense of direction of a slice of bread and I find the Factory completely confusing and disorienting no matter how much I run around in it or how many maps I look at. Every time I am about to do it, I either get turned around at the last second, or an enemy behaves differently than normal and makes me lose my combo. My doctors said to avoid stress lol, so for now, I'll work on the other trophies, but get to that part in the future. I know you got that Shadow of Rose DLC - you might find Mercs a lot easier now - if you use Chris, and only upgrade his pistol, he is a BEAST in Mercs - soooooo much easier than using Ethan was! Quote Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Honestly, I plan to get to this soon. I only recently finally played it and I am still letting how amazing it was sink in, and I don't want to lose out on any of the happiness I got from it by frustrating myself with Hard Mode just yet, but I will probably get to that one early next year. So good. This is all I have to say! Quote Heavy Rain: *ANGRY SCREECHING BANSHEE NOISES* if you know, you know. Oh... I know ? Quote Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2: I love this game so much. But this one will be a plat I get WAY down the line when I have the willpower within me to sit and do nothing but play this game specifically until I'm done. I never get very good, but every time I don't play for a while, I come back to it to find that the tiny amount of skill I acquired last time has completely disappeared. I can't even rack up a 1 million point combo to bail. Quote Bloodborne: My friend was the one who finally forced me to play this, and while I do enjoy it, I have a lot less fun with it when they're not around to make the experience more lighthearted lol. I will take my time with this one and try to get better at it on my own. I actually survive just fine in the world if I'm not in a boss fight, but that's kinda the whole point of the game and I have a lot of trouble with them ;~; everyone point and laugh at the filthy casual. As someone who has that plat.... I can assure you.... you're in the same camp as most of us! Getting owned by bosses is pretty much all I do in those games, and even when I finish them, that's the main thing I remember ? Quote Resident Evil 5: I HAVE to play this in co-op with a friend or I just hate it. I don't know why. With you on that - Game works in single player... but it's just not the same. Quote Uncharted 4: A Thief's End: The Survival stages. On Crushing?? Nah. Yeah... I noted outta that one real quick too ? Quote Kena: Bridge of Spirits: I had such a hard time with the combat on this game on normal difficulty, I am absolutely dreading playing it on the highest difficulty. Especially since it's been so long. You know - I had a pretty tough time with the normal playthrough too, but TBH, Master was definitely tougher in the bosses, but really, I found the general enemy fights to be about the same as in Normal. The bosses will take a good while though - there's like ZERO margin for error on those on Master! Quote Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition: Reach level 60 in Multiplayer.. Enough said. Bleuch. Quote Resident Evil 6: I have the plat, but I am putting off the multiplayer stuff bc I just don't really have anyone to do it with. Double Bleuch. Quote Everybody's Gone to the Rapture: I really liked this game, but it seems like something that is going to be so tedious and boring to trophy hunt when I already know the whole story. Also, it's not the greatest game for my mental health. It really amped up my feelings of depression, anxiety, and isolation. Yeah, I get that - it's not exactly a happy fun time that one! Those bloody bittern books are a pain too... but man, is that game gorgeous to look at! Quote Resident Evil 2 Remake: I've got one trophy left for this, and that is "Hell of a Sheriff". I really don't understand how this is only an "Uncommon" trophy. It's so difficult, and if I get to 97 or so kills one more time and then die I might rip all my hair out. I bet a muffin that never happens. For some reason, I remember in that one getting around 50-60 every time... then just suddenly doing it. No rhyme or reason - didn't feel like I was any better or worse, just seemed to happen I think there must be some kind of peak of difficulty around the 60-enemy mark, and if you get through it with some ammo, you are basically all set to complete it. Quote - Wheel of Fortune and UNO, which are easy and I don't know why I haven't finished them sooner - Man of Medan - Child of Light - Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair - Skyrim - The Evil Within 2 - BioShock - Assassins Creed Revelations - LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7 - God of War - Uncharted 2, 3 and Lost Legacy - Dauntless - Limbo - The Sims 4 - The Last of Us - Styx: Shards of Darkness - Skully - Extreme Exorcism - Resident Evil 4 - Resident Evil 7: Biohazard - Resident Evil Revelations 2 - Sly Minigames - Siren Damn, that's a lotta games! I'd say the Get-There challenges are truly tricky (heh)...but on the other hand, this is one of the most rewarding games in terms of satisfaction. Nah just joking here never forget, co-op is always an option and every dirty trick in the book is allowed for Bloodborne. The only true requirement to enjoy Bloodborne - don't interact with the community Quote Assassins Creed Brotherhood: Some of the memories I need to get 100% synch for make me want to throw my controller through the window. I have a beautiful piece of history here : The "purposeful flaw" is really accurate, because this piece of garbage controls like a ...well...tank .. in the game. For the first time since July?? yeah...hi Hey girl, hey! Quote I have been absent and neglecting this thread for way too long now. I've completed a few games since I last updated here, and I will probably write them up one at a time and take it slow so I don't get overwhelmed. Those of you in the Discord server are probably aware that I have had quite a few health scares this past year, and I actually had another one last night that made me want to do more with my life while I'm around, even if it's just something as pointless in the eyes of society as updating a PSNP thread. Some of you may have also noticed that I've been archiving some of my old videos and livestreams too. I don't know if I will ever stream or create content again, but I am trying to show my anxiety who is the boss here and not be worried about what random people I don't even like might comment on my harmless videos about games >.> I'm kind of in and out of the discord chat but I have seen you mention this before. I'm really sorry to see how much these things seem to keep popping up, and really hope it starts easing up on you one of these days. I do think that it's great to see you taking some charge and not letting things get in the way of your creativity and social interactions, so to that I say good on you and keep on doin your best? Quote Anyway, in the meantime, I had a great idea for a thread update that is on theme, as it has to do with my backlog. If any of you wanna do this too, it might be fun for us to read each others, and very humbling lol. Basically, I thought I would write up a list of excuses as to why I am actively being lazy about and directly avoiding finishing some games. Every single one of you would be way better at this than I am with my lack of motivation for writing, but I still think it'll be fun, so here goes. Down! I actually encourage taking your time with this one. I had the same approach, just drinking it all in and taking breaks anytime something was getting bothersome. I ended up taking too long of a break, so don't go too far with it like I did, but I feel you on this one. Quote Heavy Rain: *ANGRY SCREECHING BANSHEE NOISES* if you know, you know. I don't know, and I don't want to. But I own it, so eventually I too will know your pain? Quote Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2: I love this game so much. But this one will be a plat I get WAY down the line when I have the willpower within me to sit and do nothing but play this game specifically until I'm done. I never get very good, but every time I don't play for a while, I come back to it to find that the tiny amount of skill I acquired last time has completely disappeared. I can't even rack up a 1 million point combo to bail. In the same boat. Every time I play, I just end up goofing off and not getting much better, then getting discouraged over how I'm not getting any better. At that point, it only takes one look at that twelve foot tall trophy list and I'm out for months. Rinse and repeat. Quote Fallout 4: I'm at the part where I have to decide the fate of the Commonwealth and take sides, and I like everyone a lot and don't know what to do lmao. That's literally it. I don't know if you've seen this incredibly useful post on where exactly to save before splitting off, but it helped me a great deal in ensuring that I'd see every ending. I know you're not fond of going against your impulses in gaming situations like these, but this would be the next best thing! Quote Resident Evil 5: I HAVE to play this in co-op with a friend or I just hate it. I don't know why. Totally get you. I played with a friend for a while, then after we stopped this game lay dormant for a very long time. Quote Detroit: Become Human: You want me to murder the android stripper lesbians?? For a trophy?? Pass. You're a real one, Billie? Quote Resident Evil 6: I have the plat, but I am putting off the multiplayer stuff bc I just don't really have anyone to do it with. HUGE props for the plat, I can't even be bothered to run it in the first place! I've just heard too many bad things about this one from sources that I trust too much. I didn't buy the pack for him, I bought it for his older brothers, and I feel no guilt for that. Quote Silent Hill 2 HD: They removed the HD Collection from PS Plus. Sad day. Another thing I may need a PS3 to complete. Reeaaally considering picking this up... but that plat does not inspire confidence? Quote Resident Evil 2 Remake: I've got one trophy left for this, and that is "Hell of a Sheriff". I really don't understand how this is only an "Uncommon" trophy. It's so difficult, and if I get to 97 or so kills one more time and then die I might rip all my hair out. I had a pretty similar experience to what @DrBloodmoney described. I had shit run after shit run til I hit a plateau of just good ones before I finally got it. Never had an almost-there run, though I can only imagine how frustrating that must be? Goes to show that it's doable though, no? Quote Thanks to anyone who read this far, and please excuse my long absence. Okay, my turn: EA Sports UFC 3 All I have left is winning a title on the hardest difficulty, but it's they literally fight circles around you. It's like fighting cartoon kangaroos. You carefully make your attack but inevitably they will leap behind you and POW!!! It will keep happening until you're half dead, then they put you in a hold and make you tap. I believe I need eighteen wins for this one, and it took me ages to get two. Final Fantasy IX Just the jump rope trophy, that's literally it. Every other thing, save maybe the 10k kills, I'm genuinely looking forward to. I really need to just man up and uh... jump some rope. Call of Duty: WWII, Cities: Skylines @Platinum_Vice nailed it on the excessive DLC thing, it just makes everything so much more time consuming. These games ask so much for the plat, then they got the nerve to be like "Oh yeah I got some other jobs for you, I hope you aren't busy." Like I know you seen my backlog fool, y'all are some greedy asses! Resident Evil 4 The bottle cap shooting games are so infuriating to me, you have to get them perfect and I am just not good with that shooting mechanic. Everything else I either don't have a reason for, or genuinely have plans to get to it. Thanks Billie, that was fun! The fact that nearly all of the songs are DLC and if you don't want to drive yourself insane playing the same couple of songs over and over again, you're going to have to invest a lot of money into it.. I'm in a similar position to you actually, been working on my completion for a while now and gone up about about 10% in the past 6 months I think? But I still have loads to do. If you need a boosting partner for the boring multiplayer on Resi 6 I also need to start this one ?. If any of you wanna do this too, it might be fun for us to read each others, and very humbling lol. Basically, I thought I would write up a list of excuses as to why I am actively being lazy about and directly avoiding finishing some games. Glad to see you update, even though we both hang out in the same circles! (Discord). Oh, I really like this idea. Let me run through my profile backlog. Batman: Arkham Knight Too damn long, and the community challenges have a rep for being incredibly difficult, and a slog Death Stranding Long as hell. Enjoyed beating the story when it launched, and just haven't mustered up the time to hit up the 40 or so remaining hours of post-game grinding Fallout 4 A game I generally just didn't like. Runs like butt on PS4. Sounds like there will be a PS5 update in 2023, hoping it's not a separate trophy list. FF7 Remake Fantastic game, I just took too long of a break between beating it and starting up Hard Mode. Heavy Rain Ick Horizon Zero Dawn Completely unnecessary NG+ trophy list added long after I had gotten the platinum Nioh Fantastic combat, rubbish loot system. Right when I beat it I finally felt I had a good grasp on the mechanics. On my short list of games to clean up. Red Dead Redemption 2 Holy god it's too long. But a priority to revisit so I can get the MP trophies out of the way, at least. Major goal for 2023. Shadow of the Colossus I want to complete The Last Guardian, first. The Last Guardian The collectible trophies are tedious as hell. The Last of Us Part II See Horizon Zero Dawn's entry. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Delightful game that I've played over 600 hours between PS4 and PC. I will finish the DLCs on my PSN profile when the time is right. Uncharted 1 through 4 Brutal playthroughs sound completely unappealing. Trophy lists are in general long and tedious. ND of old did not respect our time.
Eqill5
Hey Billie, can’t say I’ve ever posted in here but wanted to say nice checklist and choice of games! It’s great to read that despite your recent health scare it’s actually motivating you to do more. As little as updating your thread might seem to others, if it helps you then that’s all that really matters. Stay positive! Popular Post Billie__227
This is SO late its laughable, but I have finally decided to get to some reviewing as it's been about half a year, give or take, and I now have a backlog for my backlog. I am planning on actually writing a decent amount from now on about my thoughts and opinions on games, inspired by all of you and your fantastic write ups that my old singular paragraphs could never compare to. I write short and sweet things about games for two reasons.. 1. Laziness. and 2. Sharing opinions on the internet, especially concerning media that people can be very passionate about, is very scary and I have no desire to ever be roped into any "fandom discourse" again. I have stage fright! In fact, just thinking about my Last of Us Part II review I will inevitably have to write is making me anxious. I can't make any promises that my reviews will be as much of a treat to read as the rest of yours, but I definitely want to put more effort into them this next year! I probably won't be going into detail about the companies that make the games or release dates or other technical info like that bc I just feel like I'd get something wrong and sound like a total dummy. Anyway, about the games! #32 / ? #36 (I think?? God, I hope I'm right lmao) Ape Escape Doc, I did it! I added an image! ? (.. thank you for the help btw, I would've been lost without you. It's not often I feel like I'm someone's technologically inept mother who has never used the internet before.) This was a trip down memory lane that filled me with nostalgia for a simpler time the moment I started it up. This is one of the first games I played as a kid, next to Crash Bandicoot and Spyro. Another gem my dad introduced me to. He used to just grab things whenever he went shopping that he thought I'd like based on packaging, I think. Brightly colored with animals on the cover? Into the cart! It was a joy to play this again. I was so excited to see another one of my childhood favorites with a trophy list, and a platinum too! I'm wishing even harder now that Ape Escape 2 had a platinum so I could have a set, but I'm just happy to have them both fully completed on my profile. It's like the feeling of getting the plats for the N Sane and Reignited Trilogies. Like I did something tiny child me would be proud of and think is cool as fuck. Speaking of tiny child me, why was this game so much easier for her?? Have I gotten worse over the years?? I swear, I never spent this amount of time raging at games when I was a kid. Maybe I just had more patience then or blocked it out. Either way, I had a much harder time replaying the original as an adult than I did when I replayed and completed 2 a few years ago. I don't know why since the controls in the second game are very similar, if not exactly the same. I did experience some lag so that probably didn't help, but that's not really the fault of the game or myself. Any time I play a game from the 90s again, the graphics and 8-bit OSTs nearly bring me to tears because I am the most susceptible person to that particular brand of nostalgia, like, ever. It's almost embarrassing. I got so excited every time an old repressed memory of mine was unlocked. Specter Land! That one Castle level towards the end that is super annoying to navigate but the music there is absolutely bangin so you don't even mind that you just fell from somewhere and have to rescale the entire building! I actually looked that track up on YouTube when I finished the game so I could listen to it again. Ape Escape Soundtrack - 26 - Medieval Mayhem ~ Crumbling Castle - YouTube I'm still into it There are some things I was less keen on remembering though. I think the level "Dexter's Island" is the thing that first instilled fear in my heart. As soon as I saw that dinosaur, it was like something clicked in my mind and I instantly knew where I had to go. It was probably just the childhood memories, but it still made me super uncomfortable. Just gross! In the best way though. I love the uniqueness of retro platformers level designs. Even more unique than the level designs is the unique way in which both games used the Dualshock. This is the standout feature of the series for me, and probably a lot of others too. The weird controls, still pretty weird by todays standards, make sure the games always have a place in my memories. If anyone here hasn't played either of them (there is a third game and I think maybe even a 4th? I'm just talking about the first 2 here as I never played the others and I'm pretty sure at least one of them was strictly for PSP or Vita) Ape Escape 1 and 2 make very interesting use of the anolog sticks. Your character in both games acquires different "gadgets" to assist in capturing the monkeys, ranging from a club to stun them with to a hula hoop that makes you run really fast, even a little RC Car to scare difficult monkeys out of their hiding spots that you can't reach, and of course the net. One stick moves your character, while the other is for using your gadgets. You move the stick in a direction to swing the stun club or your net, spin it in rapid circles to use your speedy hoop or little handheld helicopter thing etc. I've never played another game that makes use of the controller in that way, and especially for the time, it was pretty fucking cool. Your gamer instincts to use the other stick to look around WILL inevitably get in the way and not only will you be irritated by the camera doing its own thing often, but you WILL flail around your net or weapon like a maniac and sigh a lot. Unless, of course, you're much more competent than I am and adjust easily to very different controls. I don't. It took me like 30 minutes just to figure out how to walk in Heavy Rain, although that was the first game of that sort I'd played but STILL. As for the games story, it's nothing riveting but it's certainly a fun time and something you could enjoy with your kids as the plot is simple and silly and feels like a Pokemon parody a lot of the time. This is especially true in the 2nd game when your character gets a little monkey companion that chirps its own name all the time and ESPECIALLY if you play with the American voices where the protags voice actor is doing all they can to sound like Ash. The only gripe I have is with the trophy list. I'm super happy it got a trophy list in the first place and has a platinum on top of that! But you don't even have to complete the game to get the plat. There are trophies for collecting a certain number of coins or catching a certain number of monkeys, but not for getting them all. I would have liked to see trophies for 100% completion because, in my personal opinion, the most fun part of a game is the replay value of going back in for collectibles later and this is especially true when it comes to games that are more lighthearted like this. Like I said though, I am so happy to have this plat at all and even happier just to have been able to play the game again! Difficulty is like a 1/10 but enjoyment was a 10/10!
