Popular Post JoaLoft
#282 - Horizon Forbidden West Let's get straight to it: Horizon Forbidden West improved everything of its predecessor, making it a truly great game. Aloy's journey continues into the far west of the United States where she crosses states like Utah, Nevada and California, in search of a means to repair the world and stave off global annihilation. Things do get more complex and there are some interesting twists and turns as you explore the vast open world that unfolds before your eyes. I'm keeping this plot paragraph intentionally short, because the story in this sequel feels more grand and epic than the previous one, and is littered with revelations you should discover for yourself. I will add that the game ends on a huge cliffhanger with a significant reveal, setting the stage for what will supposedly be a fantastic climax in the third and final part of the Horizon trilogy. (At least, that's what it's shaping up to be). The way the story culminates, feels a bit like a traditional RPG with a party even: you encounter different tribes and groups, help them out in several quests and one of them joins your team to help battle the dangers ahead. Until, finally, you have a complete team that is gearing up for the big finale in this second game with characters with different backgrounds, their own unique questlines and motives to help out. That build-up helps to feel invested and connected. It's a tried-and-tested approach that always seems to work. There's a reason why games like Final Fantasy, Mass Effect and Dragon Age featuring diverse party groups always work out well. It's also a really beautiful game: you will cross various biomes, each feeling very distinct. The early areas do still feel a bit repetitive in terms of flora if you played Horizon Zero Dawn before. It is only once the plot starts to gain more speed after the first five or ten hours (depending on how long you take to indulge in side activities) that you'll get to visit biomes with varying diversity such as deserts, forests, the west coast, the ruins of San Francisco, etc. Gameplay basics still apply here from Zero Dawn: the world is populated by both people and hostile machines in the shape of fauna, so you'll be hunting with a spear, your bow and lots of other weapons to hit weak spots, collect components, craft ammo, upgraded versions and so on. A wide variety of stylish outfits is available again, as well as face paints! These are brand-new and look amazing, letting you customize Aloy even further to truly immerse yourself in the tribal culture of the Tenakth, the tribe controlling the Forbidden West. And they prove to be useful in a truly stunning Photo Mode - the game's beauty adds to that immensely, admittedly. Aside from that, you'll still visit Cauldrons to learn how to override machines, take on challenges in the Hunting Grounds for rewards or climb Tallnecks to survey areas. Completely new to these activities are the arena, races, an in-game boardgame called "Machine Strike" and Relic Ruins (which are essentially platform puzzles to enter restricted rooms or buildings). I may be missing a few smaller activities, but these are the bigger additions. They provide even more variety. Having so many outfits, weapons, upgrades and items does result in a bit of a clunky inventory system. I wish they had found a solution for this, particularly switching between active items such as traps, medicine, mounts and so on: if you have a lot in your inventory, scrolling to the item you need when you're in the middle of a battle is frustrating. That's the only other con besides the slow start of the game. Variety is pretty much the key word of Horizon Forbidden West. More biomes, different types of activities, fauna, flora, machines, more outfits and weapons to collect and upgrade, more and better side quests on top of an amazing main quest... Just more and better. I HIGHLY recommend you play the first game before trying this one, simply because of the story. You'll feel much more invested in this story if you have all the background provided in Zero Dawn. This is pretty much a must-play for me, so if you own a PS4/PS5: add it to the wishlist! Most frustrating trophy - ... NONE! There are no real annoying trophies to speak of. It is a huge game with a lot of activities and quests, though. And a lot of those trophies will require you to explore everything that Horizon Forbidden West has to offer, ranging from main quests and side quests to races and the arena. What does stand out, is that you do not need to find every single collectible, which is a huge relief. Still a big game with lots to see and do, so expect to invest a few weeks (or more) into this game once you get started.

Popular Post FFATMA
#78 Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom PS5 After finishing this on PS4, I wanted to get the PS5 version as well and I started it immediately. It was still fun the second time through despite having just played the entire game! I definitely recommend this one! I'm on kind of a crafting genre game kick! I started my first Atelier game just before starting these two and while I took a break on that one, I will be going back soon. I also just started My Time at Portia, which I've previously played on PC and I'm really looking forward to playing on Playstation!

Popular Post Undead Wolf
#405 - Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Legend Obtain all trophies. I'm very late to the party with this one. I'm sure everyone knows the story behind this game and how it getting rushed before it could be finished was tied to Kojima and Konami falling out, and ultimately, going their separate ways. Having played it myself now, it becomes obvious that game really falls apart once you get to Chapter 2. New story missions are few and far between, plot points are left unresolved, and there's no satisfying conclusion. It kinda just ends. Such a shame that Kojima wasn't allowed to finish the game how he wanted, because looking into the cut content and some of the stuff that was talked about in pre-release interviews, the game would have been something really special. Having said all that though, I think what we ended up getting is still awesome. Many people criticize this game's story (or lack thereof), and while a lot of that is justified, I still found myself enthralled whenever a cutscene would play. I just love these characters, and seeing more of them brings a smile to my face. I even took to the newcomers like Quiet. Fine piece of eye candy that one. ? I liked the conclusion to her story as well. While the story is a bit hit and miss, the gameplay is where MGSV really shines. It's essentially just an expanded version of Peace Walker. We get to explore two big maps in Africa and Afghanistan. Infiltrating the various outposts/bases scattered around the map was always fun, especially given how unpredictable it can be and the amount of tools at your disposal. There's so many ways to tackle each mission and it encourages you to get creative. I also enjoyed the base management aspect, using the fulton to extract enemies to get them to come work at Mother Base and develop new items. I only wish there were more indoor areas in the game you had to sneak through. As nice as the open world is, it could have benefitted from a few missions that were more linear. As for the trophies, it's quite a time-consuming platinum. I think it took me around 120 hours in total. Most of that came from beating all the missions with an S rank and completing all the optional tasks in them (thankfully you don't have to do it all at the same time). I found that to be a pretty enjoyable part of the experience. Now completing all the side ops is where it gets a bit tedious since there's 157 of them, and there isn't a whole lot of variety in what you're tasked to do. I feel like Peace Walker had more different types of side ops. It's also kind of a pain actually getting to the different side ops since they're scattered around the open world. While there is a fast travel of a sort, it has a few hoops you have to jump through, so it's not super convenient getting around. I saved most of the side ops until I had the Raiden suit and could super sprint everywhere which made it more bearable. Some other stuff you have to do as well like getting all the blueprints/key items and capturing all the animals, but I didn't have much trouble with either of those. This game certainly has its flaws, but it was still an excellent experience. There's nothing quite like infiltrating enemy outposts while playing Take On Me and other 80's classics on your Sony Walkman. ? I don't intend on playing Metal Gear Survive, so I guess this is the end of my journey to get the platinums/100% for the games in this series. It's been fun! Hopefully we get some more re-releases down the line. I'd love to be able to plat MGS1. #406 - Divinity: Original Sin 2 Deity Complete all trophies in Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition This is a game that I see a lot of people say is one of the best RPG's to come out in the last generation, and I totally get it. So much depth when it comes to how you want to build your characters stats/abilities. None of that watered down "babby's first RPG" shit you see in the more mainstream games - this is hardcore! There's a ton of replay value here since you have to make meaningful choices all throughout and it makes you interested to see how it would have played out if you handled the situation differently. The gameplay is fun, but what really makes this game special is the co-op. While I'm sure I would have enjoyed laying this game solo, it was fun to shoot the shit with my buddy @Redgrave while we played together. Made it hard to focus on the story sometimes, but being able to massacre entire villages together more than made up for it. ? There are a lot of missable trophies in the game, so a walkthrough definitely helps. I'm just glad that the host isn't the only one who can earn trophies this time around, although we still had to do a second playthrough to cleanup some stuff we missed the first time. Thankfully, the most hardest trophy for beating the game on the permadeath difficulty can be cheesed with cloud saves. I can only imagine how frustrating that would be if you couldn't do that, especially when you consider how long the game is. It took well over 100 hours to get the platinum. I thoroughly enjoyed myself though. I'll definitely be playing more CRPGS in the future.
Popular Post Leon Castle
#225 LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga April 20th 2022 The 6th Lego Star Wars and is a remake of Complete Saga and The Force Awakens with the rest of the worst sequel trilogy added in. The Lightsaber Duels were fun and epic, if they added the post-Season 2 Mando with his Darksaber instead then it would be cool to have Mando fight the Sith, General Grievous and Kylo Ren. Too bad it's the 2nd TT games Lego game without character creation, with it I could have made a Mandalorian Jedi/Sith or characters from the old canon like Starkiller and Revan. The bug I found the most annoying was the one where if you were piloting a starship as a Villain character you could not lock on enemies but allies instead. Popular Post Yuuria_
#35 Spider-Man: Miles Morales I usually try to be somewhat detailed when posting but I really don't have much to say about this one so here, have a cat! The game is okay overall, the combat was more fun than it was in 2018's Spider-Man due to Miles' unique abilities but neither story nor side content and characters were real standouts. The game takes just a little over 10 hours to Platinum and the mandatory NG+ isn't that bad either: you can get it done in under 2 hours if you skip every skippable cutscene - yes, many aren't skippable and it drove me nuts at points. This costume, the true MVP, hands down the best thing in the game (totally unbiased opinion by a cat owner ? ) Edited April 23, 2022 by Yuuria_ Misclick that lead to a post when I wasn't ready LOL

Popular Post Redgrave
#244: Deity - Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitely something of a step-up from the first game since there are a lot of options to make your character as well as build variety that as far as I could tell anything works. On the second playthrough I went with basically a Battlemage so I could be a warrior that shoots lightning, fire, and can give buffs which is a really fun build that I greatly appreciate when RPGs let you do that instead of just locking you into specific trees. ? But also much like the first game the second one feels like a very ideal fantasy CRPG experience because of how much there is to explore and all the random quests you can come across. It looks like the only upcoming fantasy CRPG that looks like it will be similar is Balder's Gate 3 which I assume will be even bigger. For the trophies there are a lot of missables and there is a "You die your save gets erased" mode but that's what cloud saves are for. And like mentioned above most of the trophies unlock for both players at the same time thankfully so there's no real need for more than one playthrough if you do everything correctly. So yeah, it's a very fun game and I'm glad there was co-op so I could play with @Undead Wolf ? Looking forward to Wasteland 3 and hopefully Balder's Gate 3 if/whenever that gets on consoles.
Popular Post LimitedTimeGamer
55# - SpiderMan Remastered Be Greater Date Earned: 28th Jan 2021 Completed in 2 months, 2 weeks, 1 day Back to the NYC we go with this remaster included with Miles Morales. Adaptive Triggers was a nice edition, and i played with the RT Performance mode for that nice 60FPS. I actually feel like the Framerate increase made this a bit harder to pull off, with the stealth sections in particular, but i did do the DLC with this, and they were also a nice addition. Reccomended. 56# - Demon's Souls (PS5) Slayer Of Trophies Date Earned: 3rd March 2021 Completed in 1 month, 6 days I never played the ps3 version of demon's souls. It was an experiance to go back to this title, and wow, did bluepoint deliver. Graphical upgrades, one of the best uses of Adaptive Triggers i have seen, and some of the best community around. I would not have got this plat without the assistance of other DES players, and for that, i am particuarly greatful. 57# - FFVII Remake Part 1:Intergrade Master Of Fate Date Earned: 10th June 2021 Completed in 55 Seconds (Fastest Platinum) Don't you just love autopopping platinums! This is now my fastest platinum, and much better than the previous one. Not much to say here, its FFVII Remake, but with 60FPS and a yuffie DLC. Yuffie is awesome in this. 58# - MetalGal Platinum Gal Date Earned: 13th July 2021 Completed in 30 Minutes, 30 Seconds A cheap platformer. If you like megaman, you probably will get a kick out of this, even though you dont have to beat it for the platinum. 59# - Final Fantasy XIV (PS3/PS4) A Realm Restored Date Earned: 26th Oct 2021 Completed in 5 Years, 8 Months Hooboy. This is the hardest platinum i will ever obtain, the one that requires the most commitment. Not that this is a hard platinum, but it does require at minimum, 6 MONTHS of playtime. The reason, is one trophy, 1000 Levequests. You get 10 a day. But they cap at 100. So if you dont use them, like i didnt, this takes a LONG TIME. MSQ wise, i just finished Stormblood when i got this. So i still have peak to go. My PS5 list is at 48% as of this post. I wanted to save this for #60, but something else caught my eye. 60# - CastleVania Requiem: Symphony Of The Night & Rondo Of Blood A Miserable Little Pile of Secrets Date Earned: 13th Nov 2021 Completed in 3 Years, 2 Weeks What is a man? A Miserable Pile of Secrets! But enough talk, have at you! I am really bad at old school castlevania. But during FFXIV's platinum, i completed Rondo Of Blood 100%. Symphony Of The Night, i have beaten previously, and is one of my all time favourite titles, so its fitting that it takes #60. 61# - Voice Of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars Ruler Of The Dragon's Isle Date Earned: 15th Dec 2021 Completed in 1 Week, 3 Days Card Games. With Yoko Taro. Its a card RPG here folks, and a short one. I enjoyed it, but was a bit too grindy for me. 62# - Tales Of Arise Arisen Date Earned: 24th Feb 2022 Completed in 5 Months, 1 Week This was a surprise. I had always liked the Tales Of Series, but this was a massive upgrade, both graphically, and gameplay wise. Fantastic story, and i highly reccomend this one. 63# - Elden Ring Elden Ring Date Earned: 24th Feb 2022 Completed in 1 Month, 4 Days I dont have to prove anything anymore. As far as im concerned, if you have this platinum, you have platinumed every Soulslike. I did everything in this game, taking me 74 HRS to complete. 64# - Kingdom Hearts: Re Chain Of Memories Chain Of Memories Master Date Earned: 18th April 2022 Completed in 3 Years, 6 Months Fuck this buggy card game. Im sorry KH fans, if you like this, you either have PTSD from completing it, or dont remember it. This caused my PS5 to Gray Screen twice. I also had a bug where the last enemy card didnt count, forcing me to reload my save until it decided to work. Not an enjoyable KH game at all for me. 65# - Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep Birth By Sleep Master Date Earned: 21st April 2022 Completed in 2 days, 5 hours. (pretty sure this is wrong) The PSP Kingdom Hearts game. 3 Protags, one clearly stronger than the other 2. 3 Checklists to complete. In total, this took me 88 HRS. 100% Completion photo

Popular Post Phoenix_argentea
Platinum trophy No. 252! Atelier Sophie 2 ~The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream~ Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream Another Atelier platinum in my long list, and again is a 4th game of a (previous) trilogy. Sophie 2 takes place between the end of the first game and the beginning of Firis (Sophie is heading towards Ertone, where she'll meet Firis, but here she'll end in the Land of Dreams). The story is nice (especially the ending!) and characters are really interesting, especially the relationship with Plachta (or the two Plachta...) and Ramizel. It's interesting that Sophie starts with combat level 20 (the cap of the first Sophie game) and Alchemy level 50 (again, at the end of the previous game). Too bad that there's a cap level for the combat (only 50, I'm sure I'd be way beyond the 50). There are different area to explore, but sometimes the maps are huge (maybe too huge), but you can change the weather using particular stones (rain, thunderstorm, sunny, snowy), in order to change the enviroment (you can open new areas in this way), change enemies but also items to harvest. The soundtrack is really good, a littel bit different from Ryza and more similar to the Mysterious trilogy.A couple of tracks which were really amazing: the snowy area with the choir is really beautiful! And the Thunder Palace (which seems really good for a final dungeon!) And now we have (again) a turn-based combat system which is really good, with an extra gauge (for special attacks) and an assist gauge (for twin attacks or support guard). The Alchemy system is also really good, since is the evolution of the Tetris system of the Mysterious trilogy: at teh beginning of the game you have a lot of restrictions due to the 5x5 panel, but when you unlock the catalysts you can enlarge the panel and start the real Alchemy! I really enjoyed crafting new items, discovering super traits (made by the fusion of particular traits, like "dragon blessing" + another one). I mean, who doesn't want a a bomb with a 100% critical hit, or better, a Gunade Ring (or whatever is its spelling) with these traits? You need really good equipments, becuase you need to defeat the final boss on very hard difficulty (so make a manual save before it!). I started improving my eqiupments, and I found by accidente a couple of very good traits, like "Dragon God Wrath" (+30 all stats and makes it 25% easier to deal higher damage when attacking), or "Dragon God Fang" into my weapons ( (increases ATK by 50 and skill power by 20%), together with "expert skill" and "skillful attack" (or something quite similar). I'm quite sure you can craft better equipments with superior traits (I read you can use the "awakening" trait from the Raimbow neutralizers...), but with these I destroyed the final boss with my first attempt! Then I cleared the remaining trophies (use all the special attacks, use the greenhouse, reach Alchemy Lv 99), and also the 100.000 damage (where I obtained the best trophy screenshot!) Best warrios (and defenders) of the game! And finally, after this long post, the platinum screenshot, obtained after the ending (yes, now we have only one ending in these games...?) and back into the main menu. Yes, I can say that I really loved this "Sophie 2", and now I want a "Sophie 3"! And sorry for the long post, the spoiler tags didn't work...
