Satoshi Ookami
It seems the CE won't have any extra goodies, just the usual art book and some DLC costumes. That's really disappointing . What did you expect? =D Mini Tokyo Tower?
Dragon-Archon
What did you expect? =D Mini Tokyo Tower? Some real life goodies, things like a mini statue of the MC's persona or a special poster or something like that. We all know CE DLC will be available later for everyone else.
Han_the_Dragon
Good to see some real news (specially that E3 presence, wasn't expecting at all to see things moving for the West at the same time as they would announce the date for Japan).. As for the collector's edition, it could be much better (like Devil Summoner 2 or Catherine), but then this is the Japanese collector's edition, there could be changes for the US release (since a lot of times the content of those special editions vary from a region to another..).. Now I can't wait for E3..
Waffle-Sensei
:awesome: Aoi best girl That's actually Ann(e).Anyway, I'm hype for the release date! Huzzah! Zenpai
I feel like finishing P4G plat now. Also, fingers crossed for dual audio. I wouldn't be too hopeful. Atlus is really strict about dual audio (for whatever reason). I would just assume from the start it will be dub-only and then be pleasantly surprised on the very unlikely chance it does have dual audio. Satoshi Ookami
And here's confirmed relevant cast! (Not that they were obvious or anything ) Makoto Niishima (新島真) (voiced by Rina Sato) image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/P5-Charas-Fami-Leak_05-10-16_001-600x335.jpg A third-year student in the same high school as the protagonist. She is the student council president and a person of irreproachable conduct. She has a strong sense of responsibility, and while a woman of action, she is an overly serious and straight-laced honors student who refuses to compromise. Her starting Persona is Johanna. Futaba Sakura (佐倉双葉) (voiced by Aoi Yuki) image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/P5-Charas-Fami-Leak_05-10-16_002-600x337.jpg A girl with superhuman computational abilities and ingenius programming capabilities. She is a first-year student in high school, but on top of lacking skill at communicating with her peers, she became a shut-in after a certain incident. Her starting Persona is Necronomicon. Haru Okumura (奥村春) (voiced by Haruka Tomatsu) image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/P5-Charas-Fami-Leak_05-10-16_003-600x339.jpg A third-year high school student and the daughter of the president of a major restaurant company. Satoshi Ookami
Poor shujinko, he only tried to help. Oh man... Futaba is looking so marvelous. She may seriously become my no.2 Persona girl instead of Risecchi =D Story “When I protected the woman from the man harassing her, he got hurt and pressed charges.” Whether it was for a small sense of justice, or possibly a different reason, the truth was distorted at the self-protection and convenience of rotten adults, and the protagonist began a “criminal record.” During his probation, the protagonist, who lives in an old-looking cafe in the metropolitan area, one day has a strange dream. Dressed in a prison uniform, he is apprehended in a blue prison. On the other side of the prison bars are twin guards, and enshrined in the back, an old man with a strange face, always hanging his head in thought. When the protagonist went to sleep, he called—or invited—him to the mysterious blue prison known as the “Velvet Room.” It is a place that lies between dream and reality, and spirit and substance. It is a room that only someone bound by some sort of contract visits. Although the Velvet Room accommodates the hero in the form of a prison, the old man says, “the state of this room is the state of the mind of the contractor himself,” and that the young man is a “captive of fate.” Ruin awaits this one in the near future. And nothing can be done but “rehabilitate” against it. “Rehabilitation to freedom”… that is the only way to avoid ruin. “…are you ready to take on a distorted world?” —The twin guards of the Velvet Room. image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_002.jpg —Igor, an old man who imposes “rehabilitation” on the protagonist. image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_003.jpg —The protagonist visits the Velvet Room from behind a jail cell. image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_004.jpg ■ The Start of the Phantom Thieves The “rehabilitation to freedom” imposed by Igor on the protagonist was to become an excellent thief. And from there begins the world reforming Phantom Thieves who steal the hearts of evil adults. —The objective: to steal the distorted desires of adults and reform the target. image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_005.jpg —Before long the crimes of the Phantom Thieves are noticed by the police and government, and develop into a major incident. image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_006.jpg —Mysterious spirits runs wild. image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_007.jpg image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_008.jpg ■ The Palace The protagonist and friends use a mysterious smartphone application given to them by Igor called “Isekai Navi” (Other World Navi), and infiltrate the other world of the heart, known as “Palace,” and reform evil adults. The other world of the heart, “Palace,” is another reality seen in evil persons with warped hearts. Within the various extreme interiors of this other world, including old castles, art museums, and pyramids, the protagonist and friends aim at its hidden desires known as “treasures.” —The Phantom Thieves’ objective is to steal the distorted desires in the depths of Palace. Various obstacles will stand in their way. image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_009.jpg —In the art museum-style Palace, there is a gameplay mechanic that lets you freely jump into the artworks. image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_010.jpg —See through suspicious areas with the eyes of a truth-distinguishing Phantom Thief and deceive the eyes of the enemy in disguise. image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_011.jpg —Through stealth actions, you can hide and initiate surprise attacks. image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_012.jpg ■ Student by Day, Thief by Night Before the protagonist and friends are Phantom Thieves, they’re high school students who attend class and after-school activities, use free time for dates and part-time jobs, study, and play games. Players can fully enjoy a year as a high school student, including events for each season like swimming, culture festivals, and social studies field trips. —The protagonist’s room is in the attic of a cafe at which he lodges. He can also invite friends over. image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_013.jpg —Similar to previous Persona games, taking class seriously will increase your knowledge. Something good might also come out of scoring well on tests. image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_014.jpg —An overseas field trip…? image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_015.jpg —Players can freely decide what to do after school. Maybe you want to take the girl on your mind to a movie in Shibuya, or possibly go home and play games. It’s up to you! image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_016.jpg —Something similar to the favorability system we’ve seen before is alive and well in Persona 5. You can also become lovers. image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_017.jpg —There are various types of part-time jobs. You can even provide help with an election speech. image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_018.jpg ■ Omnibus Format Episodes The episodes of Persona 5 play out in an omnibus format. Each story is independent, and before long every incident will connect and tie together to the truth. What kind of ending awaits this story depends on the player. image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_019.jpg ■ New Characters: Phantom Thieves (These are the same descriptions we translated in mid-May.) Makoto Niijima (voiced by Rina Sato) image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_020.jpg A third-year high school student who attends the same Syujin High School as the protagonist. She is a student council president with a sharp mind and irreproachable conduct. She is level and calm with a strong sense of responsibility and ability to take action, but is a natural-born honors student who is overly serious and refuses to compromise. However, she has her own troubles as well, which will eventually trigger the awakening of her Persona, and thereby cause an incident… Joanna image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_021.jpg Makoto Niijima’s starting Persona, Joanna. A unique Persona in the form of a large bike. The front of the bike looks similar to a woman’s head. It has the same name as “Pope Joan,” who legends say was the first female Pope during the Middle Ages. Futaba Sakura (voiced by Aoi Yuki) image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_022.jpg A girl with superhuman computational abilities and ingenious programming capabilities, but in addition to being naturally extremely bad at communication, she became a shut-in after a certain incident. She is the age of a first-year high school student, but no longer attends school following her middle school graduation. Through what opportunity will this shut-in girl meet with the protagonist and friends? Necromicon image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_023.jpg Futaba Sakuraba’s starting Persona, Necronomicon. A Persona that bears the name of the grimoire engraved with a multitude of information and techniques. It has an appearance that would be broadly defined as an unidentified flying object, and seems to be a symbol of Futaba’s unknown power. Haru Okumura (voiced by Haruka Tomatsu) image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_024.jpg A third-year high school student who attends Syujin High School. The daughter of the president of a major restaurant company. She grew up in a wealthy family, and is elegant and naive, but on the other hand often observes others. Although usually good at communication thanks to her gentle appearance and people handling skills, she finds no value in human relations, perhaps as a result of the environment in which she was raised, and avoids close relationships with others. What kind of incident would trigger the awakening of her Persona ability? Milady image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_025.jpg Haru Okumura’s starting Persona, Milady. A lady Persona who wears a beautiful dress embroidered with lilies. But beneath her elegant skirt hides a powerful weapon. She has the same name as the woman who appears in the Three Musketeers. ■ New Characters: Velvet Room Igor (voiced by Masane Tsukayama) image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_003.jpg On the other side of the prison bars is an old man with a strange face always hanging his head in thought. He imposes “rehabilitation to freedom” on the protagonist, and gives him the “Isekai Navi.” He’ll see for himself whether the protagonist can use his abilities to be released from jail. Caroline and Justine (voiced by Aki Toyosaki) image: http://gematsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/P5_06-10-16_026.jpg Twin prison guards that accompany Igor. They both look the same, and each wears a solemn eye patch on one eye. These two call themselves the guards of the Velvet Room, and generally receive the imprisoned protagonist with a sharp attitude and tone. Also, the twins vary greatly in punctuality and sometimes argue over treatment of the protagonist. Zenpai
Just saw this on twitter. Always good to know, but as big as Persona has gotten, there's no way no one would bring it over. JapanimeGamer
It's like owning a Ferrari and then having the stereo on full blast inside the car instead of listening to the incredible engine. Japanese games with Japanese audio = The best and only option in my opinion.

Japanese games with Japanese audio = The best and only option in my opinion. Go learn japanese then, no one is stopping you. The persona games always have a superb dub anyways. on topic, the only reason I could see why people would buy both the ps3 and ps4 versions would be for collector's purposes, or if it has stackable trophies. I've got 3 copies ordered for the collector purposes. Edited July 6, 2016 by SnowxSakura
JapanimeGamer
If you want to bring this to PM then do so, as you have no idea what you are talking about... I am and have been studying Japanese at night school (I will be starting my 2nd full year in just 2 months time having recently passed my last set of exams for all papers 6/6). All I did was pass on my opinion (which is exactly what I stated it as in my previous reply) to how I think Japanese games are best, in Japanese.
