Cities: Skylines

:bronze: Totally in Motion
Win all 3 Mass Transit Scenarios

69Lb91fdf.png

This sneaky DLC bronze is the second rarest out of 120 trophies total this bloated game has to offer, and this placement is for good reason, as unlocking it is quite miserable. The Mass Transit Scenarios share a common trait, they all make you wait, a lot.

The first scenario gives you a small town and wants you to dig canals, reach a certain population and carry hundreds of thousands of citizens around on ferries, a boring grind that takes hours, and the ferry routing system made me seething mad at times.

The second scenario give you a big pre made town with a road system so retarded that a lobotomized monkey would still be able to tell that shit is fucked up beyond repair, which ironically is what you have to try and do, repair the mess. You have to demolish most of the map one area at a time and redesign the road layouts because there is no fixing this disaster with less radical means, plenty of time spent waiting for money, waiting for population to go up, waiting for the traffic jams to clear, thankfully the developers had a little oversight that made it a bit less tedious than it would have been, still sucked.

The third scenario ironically starts you out on a ridiculous race to get to a certain population, giving you so little time that you are stressed pretty much throughout it all, only to then, when you barely made it, give you unlimited time from then on to, once again, wait around until your atrocious to set up public transport routes that you now unlocked have carried hundreds of thousands of citizens around.

The game has good scenarios, these 3 are not among them, so many hours of semi afk gameplay, having to use some of the worst systems the game has to offer, if it wasn't for one other DLC trophy requiring insane rng and patience to unlock, and one asking you to unlock a ridiculous amount of achievements, then this one here certainly would be the worst of the list.

DJ Player (Bronze)

Complete 10 skins in a row in Skin Edit.

Lumines Remastered (PS4)

18b296cfe7779-a243411-AD52-DF1-ECE62-342

I've been playing this to keep myself occupied until Sonic Superstars comes out on Tuesday. I'm finally starting to actually get things done in this game. It's been really slow going, partially because I've had other games take priority over this one, and partially because I keep running into roadblocks. I finally completed the Basic Challenge, and it felt great. Reaching Level 105 in one go is an absolutely herculean task, and it really tested my patience. I lost track of the amount of times I got into the mid-to-high-90s and topped out right at the finish line, and because of how long it took me to get there, I had effectively just wasted a full hour of my life with nothing to show for it. Several times in the past week.

Now that this particular nightmare had been conquered, the logical next step was to knock out the Skin Edit trophies. These, thankfully, were not too bad, and are designed in a way that makes it easy to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. If you max out your playlist, you'll almost certainly complete 10 skins while going for the 250,000-point goal for Charismatic DJ, which I was barely able to get to in my first real attempt, as you can see in the screenshot. 250k is very doable if you have a modicum of skill; it's not a ridiculous ask or anything, especially on the Endless setting. I was pretty worried when this didn't unlock at first; I thought the trophy was bugged at first, but it turns out that the trophy only unlocks after your run ends, not when you complete your tenth skin. False alarm! The 250k trophy does unlock the instant as you meet that goal, though, which is odd...

Nevertheless, I'm done with Skin Edit and will be attempting Time Attack soon. This should help me develop the skills to play the game faster. I've barely scratched the surface of this titan of a game, and I'm trying to complete as much of this game as possible before it gets sent to its Sonic-induced spot on my backlog. I don't expect to have this Platinum any time soon.

49L01f5a8.png

:bronze: Reunion

Completed chapter 1.

80.30% Common

And that's the end of the first chapter and I got to say that I love the changes that they've made between Cold Steel II & Cold Steel III, the new fishing mechanic is great, my favourite Trails boss theme is in this game, and being able to put two Master Quartz' in the ARCUS is a blessing. Now about this chapter, I am also very happy, I love the growth of Kurt, I love that we got to explore a new area, I love that we got to see Hamel in 3D and fighting an Aion was great. Now to look forward to chapter 2.
