Trophy thoughts?

You know the drill.

How do you pick and choose which games to post "trophy thoughts" topics? It seems so random.

Why do some feel it's necessary to put their trophy names and descriptions in all caps? It's annoying!

The game title is in all caps, the font in the game is all caps. All caps for trophy names and descriptions fits.

Got the game about two days ago , I got it for trophy purposes thinking that it was an easy game. Now I can't finish the game xD ... the trophies are really challenging on this game. Each mission , we are giving 3 challenges , exemple : complete this mission in under 80 seconds. Some of those challenges can be really hard. To get the gold trophy on this game we need to complete all 21 missions and complete all 3 challenges in each mission. A huge tip is to be really patient , don't rush the game , use the specials strategically ,and use cheap tactics when able to apply. Also after a short while you will start unlocking characters depending on the amount of popularity vote you get. Once you unlock Mike get use to him right away. He is the best character to use in almost every mission. Hats off to y'all who made it.

I also wonder how hard it really is... this is the same company that has made "broforce" which was given for free with PS+... I loved that game a lot. I only miss the last trophy in Broforce. It was not that hard, just required a bit patience and a focused gameplay. I don't really know if this one is easier or harder. I feels like broforce is a little bit harder thought. And it also feels like this game is as good as Broforce if not better.

EDIT: Seems to be harder than Broforce. Fairly hard game to beat.

Is it necessary to complete each of the three challenges in the same run, or is it similar to OlliOlli (from the same dev) and you can do each separately?

I cannot get the 16 kill streak in the end mission for the life of me, it's just too hard. Has anyone got a guide for the final mission's objectives?

Edit: Finally 100% the damn game. I ended up using Kimmy for the final mission when the police show up, make sure to camp at the far end of the area and let them come to you. They'll eventually stop spawning but are ideal for the 16 kill streak.

This is not as hard as people are saying, I got all trophies in 5 hours only using a guide to get the doors. Personally this wasnt that bad. Good game though and its definitely worth playing through.

Agree with you. Took me 9 hours in total playtime because I spaghetted hard in later levels, but was by random distractions that a can't blame the game for. It was way easier than Hotline Miami or Broforce for example.

This is on par with games like Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number in terms of difficulty. If you managed to get through that game, then you can do Not a Hero.

If you are fairly slow as a gamer and want an easygoing experience, then don't bother with this game. Because you won't have the skill to finish it.

Almost done with my run and have this to say

The games not hardcore in a good sense, rather, its I wanna be the Guy type difficulty sometimes and Rng gatekeeping the 3 objectives. This, along with shoddy 3-button control, and not so well thought out classes makes some levels harder than they really are.

elaborating on these points, let me explain.

•Enemy spawn points for patrolling enemy types and the timing for these patrols, and powerups they drop are total rng. With some timed objectives, you are mandatorily required to have these align.

•Control input is janky. Slide and take cover should have been different buttons. even if you cope with that, the game drops the ball on letting you execute enemies. This gets you killed. A lot. in addition enemies arent “executed” until you fully finish the animation. for some characters this animation can be long enough that the enemy CAN get up and punch you off of them mid-animation.

Not to mention this is ON TOP of the fact that when in cover you cant perform an execute, and your character auto-covers post sliding, unless additional movement is buffered. This is Janky.

Sometimes ive had movement jammed, and this has happened on two of my 5 different known good controlers with fresh dpad contact pads installed!! unacceptable.

There are also blind drops on enemies from blind falls. enemies that can instant kill you.

And the game is floatier than it should be.
Far too floaty to be seriously toe to toe with the likes of hotline miami imho(another game by devolver ive 100%) I wish roll7 had implemented a bit better control and more inputs for precision here.

•When a lot is going on onscreen, inputs can really suffer.

Im not the type to get panicked too easily. I can definitely tell that there are some input drops and executions NOT going off if there are enemies nearby. Many enemies can be very bipolar with their damage values too, and sometimes your iframes on slide simply dont do jack all.

Lack of buffering animations really hurts this game a lot. Especially when enemies instant fire out of downed state, regardless of if youre there or two floors away from them, LOL.

enemy punch range really is a bit much.

There is a level where being punched fails the objective, and enemies dive you for the punch.

In addition theres no damage invulnerability on hit stun/wakeup, so if some types of enemies get the punch on you, or juggle you between enemies, RIP.  sometimes you can be chain punched and theres not much you can do about it, though these cases are outliers, they do remain an issue.

In addition enemies really do a great job at tracking the player and perfect covering through shots at times, when theyre full aggro. not a complaint.

•Speaking of a lot going on, theres not ENOUGH going on with some of the levels landmarks. a couple mid game labryinthian levels are a pain. ESPECIALLY when you have 25-40 seconds to get to a payphone completely at random deep in the level.

In addition, 90% of the maps have a truly linear path. If you dont figure out the right path to finish the level in under this games many time constraints, YOU. ARE. BONED.

For many of the maps, IWBTG feels prevail. each has a path that when running blind has its “gotcha” trial that gets you the first time, and not again.

•Objectives are simply gobshite and make the cast of characters entirely pointless.

Theres only 2-3 characters able to do fullclear of objectives. You will play as these 2-3 characters and no one else.

Yep.

Some characters are physically unable to clear objectives. This severely hampers replayability.

•Which is all a damn shame, considering how fun and tongue in cheek the games humor is, and how much fun and over the top the sprites are, with the ultraviolence wonderfully contrasting the monty pythonesque plotline of Bunnylord doing ANYTHING for voters.

One of my favorite levels has you escorting a grandma who is babbling to herself and slowly making her way through the level with her walker as you escort her through a criminal laden apartment building to her apartment on the top floor. The sheer absurdity of what you do most of the time is great!

Its a shame they couldnt smooth this game out better, or it would have so much to offer!

I was hoping for a little better, and as it stands, i will continue to finish up the 100%, but i cant really recommend this even to people who, like me, loved hotline miami, the quality just isnt there. But if you want Ultra Rare cheevos on your profile, Not A Hero is a damn good one to go for, at least at the time of this comment, even if it doesnt have a plat! I feel it deserved one grade higher on the difficulty scale, only due to the rough, rough controls/input issues.

Just be careful not to give in to madness, and look up plenty of examples of clears by other people so you know when/where to rack up the killstreak objectives!

Worth going for if you wanna diehard the Devolver game library, or Broforce/hotline miami left you craving more and you love the genre, or you want the hardcoerest kind of stuff represented on your profiles.
