Cassylvania's Miserable Little Pile of Platinums

I've gotten a lot of flak over the years for not playing more plat-less games. I dunno -- maybe I'm just not into games that you can finish in one sitting.

I got my first plat-less game just a few minutes ago in Super Kids Racing. You can give all the flak to me because I know and should be ashamed to have 100%'d a game that only has four gold trophies for farming coins. Just unlock the Desert Drift course and run it six times and you get 100%. :P

I know there were better non-plat games but it was the only racing game I could stomach. I know Coffin Dodgers is an easy racing game platinum but I don't want to have a game on my cabinet about old people racing death to avoid dying of old age. It reminds me of my parents reaching 80 and getting closer to passing through the curtain. :(

Also, feel your pain. After hearing that some company called the Timely Gentlemen or whatever were bringing back the kingdom of Daventry to PS4, I was pleased... until I found it was a non-plat. Roberta Williams(creator of the computer King's Quest games) is turning in her retirement chair.

Well, the King's Quest games have always had a notoriously weird achievement system. In KQ1, you got points for everything you did, and there was a tally in the top corner of the screen to keep track of how close you were to a "perfect" game, but you'd lose points for all sorts of things. Some of them made sense -- like using hints -- but you could easily screw yourself over by using the wrong item at the wrong time or dying or not solving a puzzle on the first try. I remember playing through that game so many times and never getting 100%. And, of course, this was back in the day when the internet was in the "You got mail!" stage, so FAQs were practically non-existent. You used to have to call the Sierra Help Hotline (lol) and they'd charge you a certain amount of money per minute, and then your parents would look at the phone bill and be like, "LITTLE C, YOU'RE TOO YOUNG TO CALL THESE NUMBERS!" and you'd be all, "Ma, it's for a video game," and then your mom would see you're playing The Adventures of Willy Beamish and the frog's name is Horny and the school nurse has gigantic boobs spilling out of her dress, and you'd get grounded for at least two weeks and not know why. The 90's were weird.

I always wish my parents were more supportive of me growing up. My father thinks video games are just for kids, and my mother thinks anything that is animated (e.g. games, movies, shows) is automatically dumb. I feel like if they had been more supportive, I would've gotten into art or game design, but nobody pushed me in that direction. Not sure why I point it out now. Playing KQ again makes me think of all the fun adventures I used to go on when I was a kid. I hope it inspires other people. It bums me out when I think that most of the kids today are growing up with games where you go around and shoot your friends.

Anyway... This weekend, we'll play through Old Man's Journey, and do something in Arkham City. Haven't decided what yet. It's St. Patrick's Day, so I'm thinking something to do with Riddler, since he wears a lot of green. That means either Riddler trophies (ugh) or Riddler challenges (bigger ugh). Maybe both.

And Nioh. I haven't forgotten about Nioh.

I was in college then. And I agree that the thought of my little niece Olivia will grow up playing Kingdom Hearts 3 as her first RPG makes me feel so old. :P I told my sister Anna that my nephew would love playing Kingdom Hearts 3 on XBOX and his father says "Oh no, he's too young to play that game." Dude, it's DISNEY, you travel with f'king Donald Duck! Then again, the end game is pretty dark for Disney. :(

Then again, the original Kingdom Hearts was pretty scary for Disney, the end boss is a giant ship made of llesh. :o Still, it's better than what kids these days grow up playing. :(

Good luck on your games, Cass.

I hear you. I can't complain myself, but nobody in my family ever played anything. No videogames, no boardgames, nothing. But, once I discovered the world of (video)games, I became an instant fan.

I wouldn't be too disappointed about it though. I always also think about twitch-streamers and youtubers, making their living playing videogames. Like with everything that is a job, you'd eventually grow tired of it. I just recently watched a documentary about the making of "Hades", the fourth game by supergiant games (highly recommend, documentary by NoClip), and while the doc is super inspiring, you also notice how nobody there plays games anymore besides playtesting their own.

Old Man's Journey is for the "10 things..." event? I dunno, that's probably the only category I just cannot bring myself to do... Not that I have the other 9, but I don't see the point in playing EZPZ games. Then again, getting over those prejudices is precisely the point of the event ?

However, I just bought a PS VR (literally an hour ago) that I will pick up tomorrow, so I'm hoping to get to Déraciné at some point. It's not exactly EZPZ, but it's almost at 70% plat achievers. I don't care, it's by FromSoft! ? I'll start by playing what I have left in Thumper in VR though, I hear it's awesome.

I'm a bit hesitant to say that kids only play crap today, because I know a lot of people are really into stuff like Fortnite and Overwatch, and far be it from me to judge a game I've never played. I do like that they're able to play games with their friends (which was always more difficult for me when I was their age because, you know, I didn't have any friends), but I don't think it's fueling their imagination or creativity, which was so critical for me at that period in my life. In fact, I'm looking right now at the top 20 most played games in 2018, and they're all basically shooters or war games. Maybe some aren't. I don't know. I've only ever played Minecraft on that list.

Minecraft is good, though. I know this kid whose parents only let him play video games for about 30 minutes a day, so what he does is design things on graph paper during the day (probably when he's at school) and then builds them in the game when he gets home. And I remember doing something very similar when I was his age, except my friend and I would design 2-D levels for platform games, and we never had a medium to actually build them. Having stuff like Super Mario Maker now is mind-blowing. I honestly don't think I ever would have left my room if I had access to those tools when I was ten.

Yeah, that's always an issue you have when you try to turn a hobby into a career. For me, though, I grew up with such a love for animation that I really wish I had been pushed more towards concept art or graphic design. I just never saw it as a realistic possibility, and I never had anyone to talk to about it. If anything, I'm jealous of kids today, because it's so much easier to share ideas and find like-minded people. For years, I thought I was the only person who ever even heard of King's Quest.

I was going to skip that category too. The only reason I'm doing it is because OMJ looks like a good game, even if it is short, and I don't think it's fair to assume that just because a person plays an easy game that they only care about trophies. If I had kept that mindset, I never would've played Blackwood Crossing, which ended up being one of my favorite games from last year. So, I'm trying not to let trophies influence my decisions.

Anyway, let me know what you think of VR. Oh, and Pyre. It's such a bizarre concept for a game, but I thought it was executed wonderfully, and I loved the art style. Some annoying trophies, though...

I grew up on the Kings Quest series as well. I suppose all the "Quest" series really. My parents never really understood my love of gaming and wouldn't help fund purchases of any of my games. I managed to find odd jobs with the neighbours to make a few bucks here and there and Id save up to buy these on 5.25 floppies. It was always an exciting day getting another installment in a "Quest" series game.

We also had time limits per day we were allowed to play games on the computer. Luckily for me though my brother and sisters preferred to watch me play the games and help solve the puzzles that way. So guess who got to play double/triple time. Mom: "Your turn is over, what are you still doing on?" Brother: "Its my turn mom but I prefer to have him control the dude and I help with solving the game puzzles." Haha. She probably didn't care so much as we were quiet and we weren't fighting (which we did a lot of as kids).

If Im being honest, now that I have my own kids I can relate. Anything that keeps them from bugging each other is a good thing! xD

And, with that, my boobs only run was a success! Will hornless quad varl prove to be more of a challenge? Will Alette fare as well on Hard difficulty? Will I ever do the Training Tent stuff so I can finally platinum this game? Find out next time on THE BACH-ALETTE.

Congrats! That run through was the most challenging one for me. Mostly because I never got the knockback item to drop, but I had a lot of fun figuring out how to better use the other characters...it did take a long time since I had to reload several times.

Thanks. I try to skip reading right now when I see Kingdom Hearts mentioned and the context seems to be story related. So far I like it better than I thought I would and not as much as I thought I would at the same time. The story is pretty interesting...their oversized feet bother me for some weird reason...feels like I'm running around in clown shoes. The controls and camera are pretty bad so far. Some of the platforming and battles have been more challenging than they should be due to the camera getting all funky and firing from the gummy ship is just flat out frustrating. It seems that the cross-hairs isn't actually where you are shooting, but slightly below. It'll probably get better as I get further in, but I'm only about 4 hours in so far.

lol I was just thinking about this the other day. The only time I ever got enough courage to call one of those numbers was when I was playing the 7th Saga for the SNES. The game was really hard and I was just so ridiculously stuck about half way through the game. You needed to find this key to unlock an area and I just couldn't find it anywhere. I called the number and it turned out you needed to push a table to find the key under it....it's the only time in the game you push anything and I don't know why the developers would guess that the player would even think that the furniture could move. Needless to say, I got the same talking to you did but on the bright side I was able to finally beat the game after that :)

For me, the Sierra series I played that got me in trouble was Leisure Suit Larry. Especially Leisure Suit Larry 6 at the La Costa Lotta Resort...my dad introduced me to the series (probably a reason my parents divorced lol) and my mother was like wtf?! when she saw the game on my computer screen. It was definitely an interesting time to grow up on games.

It's funny, for me, my father was very supportive of my interest in video games and computers...but I think it was more so that I was distracted and wouldn't bother him more than he wanted me to learn anything. He was brilliant with PC's and whenever I would ask questions to try and learn, he would either intentionally use jargon that was over my head so I'd walk away, or he'd show me the cool new setup he'd made and have me test out a game. My mother hated games, computers and anything electronic. She got me an SNES for Christmas in like 1992 and then told me she would never buy me another thing video game related. She also thought anything animated was for kids/dumb. She would give me a hard time for watching The Simpsons and South Park as I got older since they were cartoons. I feel like I played a KQ game when I was younger...but I can't remember. My best friend was a huge Sierra fan and he also liked the point and click style games. He got me into Day of the Tentacle, Zork and Lands of Lore.

Most kids have no idea what those are lol My wife is a teacher and she asked the kids in her class if they knew what the 'save icon' on a PC was a picture of. Not a single kid knew. The best they could come up with was that it was just the logo for 'save'

LOLZ. I knew about old Larry, but I never had to courage or carnal desire of self-insertion to play his game back when they came out. However, I think the guy who came up with the story also created the text adventure for Infocom called The Leather Goddesses of Phobos, and I played through THAT on the naughty mode. I also played through the second game of , I think it was called Sorcerer U 101 where you play as a nerdy wizard whose stepfather locked you in your room. There was a naughty mode and in the second game, you had to get an elephant into the dean's office and the only way to get permanent access was to seduce his wife, who was a horny son of a gun. I recall there was a tame mode which cut out all of the sexual content, but the subs were hilarious. In the first game of that series, you traveled to various islands to try to find the location of a super-powerful device(which you upgrade in the second game to allow you to create objects and living things and whatnot to aid you in your adventure) and the last island you visit before fighting your evil stepfather was the Island of Greek Gods and you seduce the wife of one god, who is jealous about her seeing other men... and in the tame version, he's angry because the wife does CROSSWORDS with these men. xD I think the tame mode was just the producers mocking you for not being brave enough to turn on the naughty mode and read porn. ;)

The only Sierra games I played were Police Quest 1, King's Quest 1-6, and Quest For Glory 1-3. I did play a bit of QFG 4 but I got bored of it fast and I didn't care about the remaining King's Quest games though I did play the fan remakes of 1-3. Yes, some people faithfully remade King's Quest 1 and 2, with 2 being a lot more story-driven and graphically beautiful than the original. They also remade Quest For Glory 2, which I wish I had played because that game was probably my favorite of the entire series. You can find a speed-run of the Quest for Glory series on RPG Limit Break, here is the link.

I used to make my sister run around in the grass in Pokemon to level my Charmander, or give her a controller that wasn't even plugged in so she'd think she was playing. ?

At least Sora has feet. In Fire Emblem: Awakening, every character stands on their ankles. It's really unpleasant to look at.

But yeah. The camera and controls are a pain in KH1. Just wait until you get to Neverland.

Nice. I remember my dad used to call for me because he didn't want to admit he couldn't solve puzzle either. Sometimes you'd even have to wait days to get the answers because they'd send tips or instructions via snail mail. I was stuck on that babysitter part in Willy Beamish forever. It was such a bizarre sequence of events you had to follow. How's a five-year-old supposed to piece together that you go into the bathroom to get hair spray, spray the bat to slow him down, steal a toy mouse from your sister's room, drop it on a table, and use the vacuum to suck up the bat? At that age, I was just proud of myself for even thinking to USE the vacuum cleaner, and I didn't understand why it wasn't letting me win.

Aw, you missed out on King's Quest VII, which was probably my favorite KQ game. I remember thinking how advanced those graphics looked at that time. Of course, compared to King's Quest V, I think they were...

Anyway, I'm reminiscing like an old man, so it's only fitting to announce my latest achievement...

Platinum #160 - Old Man's Journey

https://i.psnprofiles.com/games/c15a51/trophies/1L39749a.png

Yeah, I get a platinum for this, but not King's Quest or Resident Evil 4. Makes sense.

As far as two hour games go, this was a good one. I loved the art style (you knew I was going to say that), the music was both sad and uplifting, and if I wasn't so accustomed to playing depressing games, I'd say I might have even shed a tear or two. The train part took me four tries, and the game crashed twice in the same spot... Not much else to say. I'd put a price tag of $2.99 on this one and say if you enjoyed Burly Men at Sea or Last Day of June (or the movie Up), you'll enjoy this.

He's somewhere on the ocean now, that's where he ought to be

With one hand on the starboard rail, he's waving back at me...

I 100% agree with that statement! The game always comes first, not the trophy list. But like yourself, I then like to complete whatever I start. I'm sure there are games out there that have a very high completion rate that are awesome. I mean, to tie this to your second point, Pyre is such an example.. From what I can tell it's rather short, it has a rather high completion rate (~20% at the moment), but man I'm so happy I gave it a shot... The artstyle is amazing, and so is the music! I'm actually surprised that I'm mostly positive about it, since I usually don't play visual novels or sports games, and Pyre is a fusion of both ?

Anyways, congrats on the latest plat and for completing the "10 things..." challenge! I hope to finish either Thumper (man, soooo good in VR!!) or Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime soon for my fifth category. It's weird.. I feel like I play way more than I should, but somehow I don't really finish games quickly ?

I called the Nintendo hotline because I was stuck in the last temple in Majora's Mask. And the dude told me to "follow the way". Even as a 9-year-old (?) I was furious about that """hint""" :P Shortly after that I sold my N64 for a Gamecube... not the best decision in hindsight. Fun fact: I completed the game more than 15 years later for the first time because I just felt like plugging the Wii back into my TV. One embarrassment less :P

It wasn't until the internet really took off that I realized most people view the GameCube as vastly superior to the N64. When I was younger, the N64 was the BEST console ever, and I couldn't believe that anybody else thought otherwise. Still not sure I get it. Yeah, the N64 had a lot of garbage (and I probably gave some games, like DK64, more credit than they deserve), but the only good games I remember on the GameCube were Luigi's Mansion and the godsend that was Eternal Darkness. Wasn't really into Zelda at the time.

I played Majora's Mask for the first time a couple of years ago. Probably my favorite Zelda game now...even if I have mixed opinions about the three-day cycle.

I also said I was going to play The Witcher 3 this winter (it's now spring), Kingdom Hearts 2 (I'm getting there), and Persona 5 (I'm only one person). Yakuza is going to have to wait in line. The only reason Nioh was allowed to cut ahead is because I bought the game when it was on sale a long time ago, and it's one of the only games I own on physical disc that I haven't gotten to yet.

Now that the year of community events is over (do we even have a themed event coming up after TTIHAG?), I'll probably start focusing more on bigger titles and less on these cheap, 10-20 hour games that I've been peddling.

Yeah, it's such a strange mix of genres. It's even got a bit of an Oregon Trail thing too, like The Banner Saga. I am surprised about the completion rate, though. The game is short, but I remember the AI being extremely aggravating on the higher difficulties.

Tempting, but I'm still working my way through Nioh. Don't think it's a good idea to mix those games. I'm already having a hard enough time trying to tell myself that I can't play it like a Souls game... I managed to kill a giant centipede last night, and I stumbled into a really hard duel with this asshole who kept killing me. Now I'm at Umi-boza, who I swear I'm going to beat before I go to bed tonight.

I also knocked out a few Arkham trophies over the weekend, and I got all the gimmicky Survival Mode playthroughs done in TBS2. Still gotta get through it on Hard. Up to wave 6 out of 40, but Alette is going to need a knockback item soon or this playthrough is going nowhere.

But that's about it for this week. Just going to chip away at Nioh and TBS2. Maybe XCOM. We're inching closer to that 7k milestone too, so it might be time to start thinking about that.

While I loved the N64, I still feel like the SNES was the best console ever. Probably due to the nostalgia factor and that Final Fantasy III and Link to the Past were two of my favorite games all time contribute to that. Gamecube was arguably the biggest waste of money I've had in consoles...I think I only bought like six games for it and the only one I put any time into was Metroid Prime. For me, Ocarina of Time and Mario 64 were the best single player games on the N64 with me putting more hours into Goldeneye than any of them since that was THE game in college. We also played the WWE game a lot, but I can't remember which one.

Now that the year of community events is over (do we even have a themed event coming up after TTIHAG?), I'll probably start focusing more on bigger titles and less on these cheap, 10-20 hour games that I've been peddling.

I don't think so...I'm doing the monthly madness and bingo events, but those are a little more casual. I have nothing but epics on my docket for a while. I'm sneakily chipping away at Space Hulk again and then I'll focus on Darkest Dungeon on my Vita.

Were you able to do the Varl run without using the horn or did you have to do an additional run? I got the knockback item on my Hard run but not on my Boobs run, which made that run very challenging. I saw there was a new Survival Mode DLC trophy guide that was published...probably some good info in that ?

I started my new position at work on Monday. The good news is I'll be doing something I enjoy more...the bad news is I lost my private office and ability to get easily distracted on the internet without getting in trouble. They didn't give me any new work to do last week since they knew I was transitioning out of the department so I was quite bored. I took advantage of that time by making my first ever guide. I was actually pretty surprised it was published on my first submission. I was really expecting to make some changes. Overall, I'm happy with the information I gave, but I think I'll need to add some video's or images because it feels a bit too much like a wall of text. I think I would like to do another one at some point, but now I'll have to do work at work so who knows if I'll find the time lol

In my gaming life, I finally finished up Rayman Legends...but I can't delete it just yet since my kid really likes the game. It's a lot of fun, but I agree with what @Jens said about doing it with a time constraint (event) diminished the potential fun that it could have been. I really can't complain though since I got a ton of content from a free PS+ game. Hidden Agenda was ok. There were a ton of plot holes and the playlink aspect felt very forced. I don't understand the whole point of the 'hidden agenda's' in the competitive mode since it really didn't add any value or fun. It was actually quite stupid. Thankfully, it was quick and felt a bit like playing through an episode of SVU. My sole attention now is on KH and trying to get it done in the next 12 days. I think that Proud Mode playthrough will end up making it so I can't finish it that quickly.

The gameplay in KH games tends to get objectively better though, so you shouldn't be too afraid of your series-journey :P Well maybe exclude Chain of Memories from that statement, that's the wild card.

I hope so. It's not that it's bad so much as I don't think it has aged very well.

I don't know about the general opinion, but for me the Gamecube is the platform where the never ending cycle of Nintendo franchises started hitting me. Yes, Smash Bros. Melee was cool, but I already played the gist of it; I'm also one of the 6 people who genuinely enjoyed Super Mario Sunshine; Metroid Prime was also pretty sweet; but other than that there was already a loooot of repetition with all the Mario Karts, Mario Parties and so on and so forth. That's kinda where Nintendo started slipping in the third party department and variety started becoming more important to me.

Yeah... That's when Nintendo stopped being an every day console for me, and started being a holiday/slumber party console. I had fun playing Smash Bros. on 99 lives or causing irreversible damage to friendships in Mario Party, but the GameCube, Wii, WiiU, and now the Switch are always the first to get unplugged when I need an extra outlet. Too many first party games and not enough incentive to play single player.

I had so much trouble on the varl run that there was no way I was doing that without using the horn. I used the same team as you, though. Maybe I'm just not used to that setup.

Good job on the guide! I did see it, and I will be using it as I struggle through my Hard run. Wave 6 was a nightmare. I've gone through Survival Mode enough times now that I kinda know which waves are going to give me trouble, and this was the first major hurdle. In the end, I had to sacrifice someone. I decided to recruit a varl I never use (Griss), equip him with a shitty item, and send him to the far left, while the A-team took care of the right. Griss almost survived, but we weren't getting through that battle without someone going down, and I'm glad it was him. Alette, Mogr, Ro'Ech, Eyvind, and the god that is Egil thank him for his services. Eirik will just be glad to get his spot on the team back.

My concern going forward is that Alette is really going to need a knockback item. It might be worth restarting if one doesn't drop soon. I also saw in your guide that you suggested using Aleo, which is someone I've never even touched. I'll have to look into that, after we burn Griss' body for some extra renown.

In Nioh news, Umiboza is dead (I absolutely shredded him with fire breath) and I'm now in the land of spiders. I still haven't figured out the whole stance switch or Ki Pulse thing. I think I'm supposed to press R1 after every attack, but I'm too lazy to do that. I'll probably keep doing what I'm doing until I run into a brick wall.

I felt the same about Hidden Agenda. That's why I didn't want it to count for a peripheral-based game. (I should've counted it for bad rep, because it was probably worse than Bubsy, but Metacritic doesn't agree.) Maybe it's meant to be played with three or more people...? I just can't fathom why that mode exists.

I think Speedster is what's going to cost you in KH. Unless you really want to go for that trophy legitimately, you're probably better off doing the trick where you wait for the timer to roll back to zero (once you reach 100 hours). That's a lot of time to leave the PS4 idle. I've been doing that off and on over the past few weeks with Cities (like every few days, I'll leave it on for eight hours), but I worry how much stress that's putting on my console. The poor thing sounds like it's going to explode every time I start up Nioh. I'm pretty sure I can use it as a portable heater...

They just gave the Nintendo Indies showcase and, if you like Crypt of the Necrodancer, they're doing a crossover with Legend of Zelda called Cadence of Hyrule. Cuphead is also coming to the Switch but since that's was on XBOX and not PS4, you probably never played it.

Oh, sweet! I can finally play Cuphead then. I mean, I guess I could've played it on PC whenever I want, but that just wouldn't feel right. PCs are meant for simulation games and Skyrim.

Anyway, Nioh update! I haven't gotten to say this since the Tower Knight in Demon's Souls, but I actually killed a Souls-like boss on my first try. That's right -- spider bitch went down before I even had the chance to look up the wiki for help. After that, I proceeded to get impaled by Elsa from Frozen until I realized I should time my dodges better. She clearly wanted to be my waifu, but I had to let her down gently, for my heart belongs to Margot Robbie Alette. Then, moments ago, I took out a kitty cat -- a true testament to my strength as a samurai.

I believe that's the halfway point of the game. I can now reach the fourth region! What horrors will await me there?

But seriously, there's an ice maiden boss in Nioh? That's just crazy. Don't worry, you'll be fine. Just unleash your fire attacks. Everyone who plays Pokemon knows that Fire is super-effective against Ice. :D

Speaking of KH3, just before I got my mouth violated and drilled by my dentist, her apprentice student told me she loves Remy from Ratouille. ;)

@Cassylvania Glad to see Nioh is going well! You've now overtaken me in progress as the last boss I beat was Spider-Bitch. I should really go back to that...maybe after Final Fantasy XV is at 100%, just have a couple more DLCs to finish and I'll be there.

Spoilers, please. Some people in this thread are playing through the series and don't want it ruined for them.

I deleted the spoiler text, you'll have to delete your quote because it has the spoiler text in it. Anyways, I can spoil Peasant Knight because there is no plot whatever to that game and I didn't bother fighting the second boss, once the stage started and the Platinum trophy popped, I deleted the game and the save. :P

I so want a remaster of Demon's Souls.. Haven't played that one since I skipped the PS3... ☹️

So, are you doing all the missions in each area or only the main missions? If one thing, the first couple of bosses are so varied.. A Spider-Bitch, the Ball-Demon, Miss Vampire, Centipede, a giant Flan.. and the next boss is in my opinion the most fun to fight in the game.. enjoy! ?

What is your weapon of choice atm, and what about Ninjutsu and Onmyo?

Man, reading and writing about Nioh makes me wanna play again! But Sekiro is out tomorrow and you are right, I think it wouldn't be too great mixing both games... ?

I've doing all the sub-missions before doing the main missions. I'm up to level 80 now.

I was originally going to go for a Ninjutsu build (hence the kusarigama start), so I put a lot of points into throwing weapons. But I found a katana I really like, so I've been using that almost exclusively. The Sloth talisman is kinda nice too. ?

This was a really bad day for bosses in Nioh. The first three I slaughtered were jokes -- the first because he was a toad, the second because she was an old hag in a clown mask (didn't even get hit), and the third because he went down in about 10 seconds, without me even needing to hit him. Come on, game. Canon Waifu put up more of a fight than all three combined (OK, the frog was pretty badass), but you can only so much damage in an outfit like that. Also, lol at the game making the male models you can transform into only cost a couple thousand glory, but the female models are 70k. I guess we won't be cosplaying as Okatsu any time soon. Oh, and I killed Sephiroth or something. I don't know. My bull kept running him over and letting me get critical shots.

Hm. According to the series of missions I just unlocked, my sword proficiency is at 999,999, while everything else is below 100k. I guess I haven't been using a kusarigama as much as I thought.

Nice! I had a bit of a tougher time with the Toad my first time around ? Hope you are enjoying the game though!

Anyways, save your Glory... there is a DLC trophy for cosplaying as a female character... so yeah, you'll get your chance to incorporate Okatsu ?

That is complete sexism if ever I saw it. Seriously, I know that the cover art for Nioh shows a male samurai and it's set in feudal Japan which was a sausage fest because of the way ancient Japanese society worked back then(of course, any society in any part of the world back then was mostly male-dominated because feminism only popped up in the 1920s), but come on, there were great female Japanese heroes too. I think I read about this one woman who sold herself to a tyrant emperor as his courtesan(aka formal concubine) and while he was sleeping after f'king, she snuck into his tent and cut his head off or something. If that didn't take guts, I don't know what is guts. :P
