The Last of Us Review Roundup

The embargo for one of the most anticipated titles this year lifts today so I figured we could use a thread dedicated to the reviews. I think reviews are supposed to go live at 10:00 AM (currently 4:10 AM) so we have a few more hours to go but I'm expecting a whole lot of very high reviews, possibly even a few perfect scores.

 

If you find a review that I haven't posted go ahead and reply with the link and I'll update this post.

British film magazine Empire has given the game a perfect 5 out of 5 score, stating that "The Last of Us is not just the finest game that Naughty Dog has yet crafted and an easy contender for the best game of this console generation, it may also prove to be gaming's Citizen Kane moment, a masterpiece that will be looked back upon favourably for decades".^[41] Official PlayStation Magazine echoed the positivity in their review, also giving the game a perfect 10 out of 10 score, calling the game "A work of art in which amazing sights and sounds fuel an emotionally draining, constantly compelling end of days adventure".

Got this around some sites, Kevin Dent, an industry insider, said the lowest score The Last of Us got is a 93/100.

Well, confirms what I already know: Naughty Dog have really stepped it up this generation and have left an indelible mark on the PS3. I was always getting this game, though - can't wait to play it!

I don't even know why most people are excited for the review considering most people have already pre-ordered the game. I know a review isn't going to stop me from getting it on day 1

Although the demo was short, it gave me a taste of what to expect. I plan on frequently jumping out of my seat, and I must learn the ability to be patient. It just confirmed that I made the right decision by preordering it... now to decide whether I should play this game in the dark.

I watched the Polygon video review. The writer's main issue to him was he felt the shooting mechanics were poor, and he felt there was too much violence. In reading the comments, apparently it's common knowledge the reviewer does not like guns or violence. It seems they could have found someone better to review the game then. Do they let the guy who hates basketball review NBA2K?

yeah I thought they were petty points to pick on, from watching the review he might of just been piss poor at shooting

Just got finished playing the demo and all I have to say is holy shit. It was short which I like because I don't want to spoil anything but the gameplay, animations, dialogue, lighting and everything else was astonishing. The game is intensely beautiful and I absolutely cannot wait to play the full game.
