Dunno. You'll probably get the 100 deaths trophy without trying. There were half a dozen or so levels I hit that target on. Also yeah, it's annoying that you just start as soon as you die. Can't count how many times I was mashing dash, hit something, and auto started the timer. Kind of annoying. Everything popped normal except the God mode (blue stars) and deaths. So hopefully you can figure something out. I was also wondering if maybe all the deaths need to be in the main mode or something weird like that. I once farmed over 10k in a single session to check and see if that would pop it, saving every few hundred deaths. Nothing. It's not looking good. I'm at 5000+ deaths. I farmed most of them on 3-18 (where you just fall at the start into an enemy) about 90-95 at a time. I waited about 15 minutes on the end of level screen after passing 5000 deaths. No good. I've played 5-1 through 5-15 since passing 5000 also. Nothing. Tried getting a new fastest time on a level I already played, which would also put me in the top 20 on the leaderboard for the level (the main page of the level's leaderboard), thinking maybe that might jar something loose, but nope. I also did a couple tests on a guest account spamming dash into an enemy on 1-10. The 10, 100, and 1000 death trophies popped fine. The 2000 one popped after playing another level after it should have popped, but I didn't get the 5000 one to pop there either. The same thing I've been seeing on my main game. It's really weird. Summary of what I've seen: 10 deaths, 100 deaths, 1000 deaths, and 100 deaths in a level all pop exactly when they should at the end of the level. You can even stack them all with no problem. 2000 deaths doesn't pop exactly when it should. But it'll pop a lvl or two after. Who knows? ? 5000 deaths? Don't know, haven't been able to pop it yet. I haven't gotten to 10000 deaths either on my main game or in my testing on a guest account, but I'm assuming it'll be bugged like 5k. I'm at a loss as far as figuring out the logic behind this at the moment. I'm going to keep playing the game normally and see if any miracles happen. RuneEyesDragon
Unfortunately I didn't have very much time to do my first day of Game #4 because I didn't get to it until I had platinumed two games and then I had to eat dinner and bathe, and I got distracted by Miitopia AGAIN, but I did get at least a half hour of having Sora just get to the near end of Destiny Islands. I'll just post everything on the 12th, since I will be picking up DQB2 then.
Popular Post Arctic Cress
Game #2 - Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll Time played: 4 hours Trophies: 2/42 (2% - E) I wanted to get a few games in for my old PS3 in this event, and this was one that's been on my PS3 hard drive for who knows how long. It's been long enough that I no longer remember when or why I bought this in the first place. So I started this, and I get a message on PSN sometime later: "Now that's a true RPG turd you dug out." That was an interesting start already. Anyway, Trinity Souls of Zill O'll stars Areus, a half-elf who fled his destroyed kingdom. Many years ago it was fated that the emperor would die by his grandson's hand, so the emperor had his pregnant daughter killed and invaded the kingdom his son was ruling, and killed him as well. Areus manages to escape, become a gladiator, and planned to take revenge. He is eventually joined by two adventurers during his travels, Dagda and Selene, who have their own agendas to fulfill as well. Trinity is developed by Omega Force, the developers of the Warriors series, and if you know those games pretty well this game will feel somewhat similar. Lots of enemies to fight, similar combo button presses. However, this game is an action RPG instead, so we're treated to... a lot of boring repeatable quests and a very stubborn camera that can't get out of it's own way. I had a battle against three trolls in the final floor of a cave, and they love to charge which made the camera start spinning due to the thin corridor I was in. That's easily been the most challenging part of any quest so far, and not because of the game mechanics themselves. Equipment-wise there are four slots, and you try to make the numbers go up. Some equipment have other abilities attached to them. You gain new skills by either leveling up or by purchasing skill scrolls. Each skill can be attached to the , , and buttons and you can have two sets of skills that can be swapped at any time. Well, what else? The English voice acting is all right. Dagda really steals the show here, having a very good casting choice for him. Unfortunately, cutscenes are rare and much of the dialogue is done through unvoiced visual novel-like scenes. Some of the graphics look like they were made on a PS2, which might not be too far off as this game was made before the PS3 really took off anywhere. I was going to say that Omega Force should just stick to Warriors games but then remembered Dynasty Warriors 9 and that also flew out the window. However the One Piece Warriors games were good and I heard we're getting Pirate Warriors 4, so that's a plus. I have yet to finish Chapter 1 in this game though, but I probably won't be going back to it anytime soon. Not an enjoyable title, and that message I received was somewhat right, I guess. And it might just be me but I feel that Omega Force got their inspiration for their red-haired hero and his blue-haired best friend from another popular action RPG series... Anyway, now for something completely different. Bonus Game #1 - Apex Legends Time played: 4 hours Trophies: 2/12 (10% - D) An all-multiplayer game is definitely a rarity on my account, but two of my friends have been harassing inviting me to play the game for a good few months now, so I finally decided to jump in last night. Our three-man squad played a number of games last night, and while we didn't win any of the games, we were 2nd once and top 5 many times. Apex Legends is a battle royale game where you choose from a selection of ten heroes with certain abilities, split into a group of three (you can choose a team beforehand, like my friends and I did), and search the map for weapons and items to defeat the other 19 three-man squads that fall onto the map with you. As with most battle royale games, the safe area shrinks as the game progresses, so the teams that remain will be pushed together eventually. It's pretty simple to figure out, though I am still getting used to both the controls and the fact that I don't play FPS games much. It definitely became addicting once I got started, but I'm unsure if I would enjoy it as much if I wasn't playing with my friends during the matches. I do look forward to go after the rest of the trophies at some point. Starting completion %: 71.51% Current completion %: 71.20% Difference: -0.31% Mary Skelter: Nightmares - 10/34 (14% - D) I am a few days behind and well aware of this, but I plan to catch up over the weekend, as I have nothing else planned. The main reason is that I finally did finish Dragon Quest XI as my milestone 125th platinum, so I can fully concentrate on this event going forward. That was also a game from KYC 8 so it's nice to finish it as well - and I think it's a game that everyone should play through at least. Definitely a special game from Act II onwards. That's also the reason why the completion didn't drop as much as you would expect - DQXI bumped it back up to the starting completion amount before Apex and Trinity brought it back down to where it is now. Next: I don't know! Ar nosurge and Fate/Extella Link are in their respective consoles while The Silver Case and Nurse Love Addiction are downloaded and ready. I'll figure it out later.

I felt that there could have been 3 or 4 more spread out. One thing to know, the game actually does save your progress when you quit to menu. So if you're in bad shape and not sure you can make it back you can quit. You will restart with full health at the last bench you rested at, which is better than trying to go grab your shade again. FYI, I use save to mean keeping your items and money, not location. Edited July 11, 2019 by Hemiak

Popular Post Psy-Tychist
World Rally Championship 5 Playtime: 6ish hours. Played: Completed Junior World Championship. Trophies: 19/38 - 42% Completion: 60.91% - ? 0.05% Feeling: Concentrated and Calm. I enjoy racing games. Its been a staple for my gaming library for a while. I first started with Street Racer on the SNES and moved through the staples of Gran Turismo and the Burnout series but I always enjoyed rally games. Didn't hurt that I enjoyed watching Colin McRae, Carlos Sainz, Tommi Makinen, Sebastien Ogiers and Petter Solberg. I've never played any of the official WRC series yet, so time to dive in and try it out for once. WRC 5 is much like any sports game that is brought out each year, the core gameplay is basically the same with updates to the graphics, engine and updated rosters. From the beginning, the game advises you to try out the Rally School to get better at doing certain parts of the tracks. The main issue I had with these was they had a very low error allowance, you have to be spot on with the placement to pass any of the training session. The good thing is that they are not needed to get into the game, but they can serve as useful tips and pointers on best practice for certain track types and corners. You start in the Junior series, with a much lower powered car and have only 7 rallies to race in, to begin with. Winning each rally is not too tough, I played on the Normal difficulty with standard settings as set by the game. Generally, if you have played any sort of simulation racer, the controls and the way the cars handle won't be a surprise. Each rally has 6 stages to get through, each of varying lengths and at various times to make it slightly more difficult. When racing, the car feels weighty but for some reason in the Junior category, the acceleration is atrocious. Could just be the car though and the higher horsepower cars will be more responsive. One thing I did enjoy about the game was the extensive damage modeling and how damaging specific areas of the car, changed the way the car handles, feels and whether it accelerates at all. Many early races I basically was stuck in third gear, my steering was constantly drifting left and the brakes would squeal everytime I tapped them. Fixing these issues can be done at the waystations, but they come few and far between and you only have 45 minutes to fix them. If you go overtime, you will incur time penalties and damage your standing in the rally. Bit of risk and reward to allow for faster driving styles. Trophy-wise, the game doesn't have any really difficult trophies, mostly it's just making sure to win all the rallies you have access too and some miscellaneous trophies. In the short time played, over half of the trophies unlocked just by playing and occasionally doing one or two of the specific challenges. Overall, the game itself does nothing that stands out, not that it should but overall is a competent rally simulator. If you enjoy racing games, it should be perfectly adequate for your needs, it just doesn't do anything which puts it higher than any standard rally racer. Popular Post SixyLove
Update 010 "Drunken Brawls and Petty Thievery" Touhou Genso Wanderer Reloaded Playtime: 10 hours Trophies: 6/45 8% When I started Touhou Genso Wanderer Reloaded for the first time, I didn't really have any expectations. I knew it was a dungeon crawler; I have played maybe 6 dungeon crawlers in my life and I never did more then a single dungeon in any of them. I only bought the game because it had "Touhou" on it. I'm honestly not sure why I keep buying these games; I'm not a Touhou fan or anything. I don't enjoy bullet hells either because I'm very bad at them. So far all I've done was the tutorial level, the optional tutorial level and I got to the boss of the first actual level but then I died. The tutorial was alright. I got to feel like I was actually good at games for a little while. Then I moved on to the optional tutorial levels. Those levels are very difficult because they require you to play nearly perfect. Most enemies also kill you in 1 hit in these stages. They do give you hints most of the time but I'm not very intelligent so I still got stuck a lot. The last tutorial level was very difficult for me. I believe I was stuck on every section for 10 minutes at a time and the level is really long. I remember getting to the end and accidentally throwing the item I need to win the wrong way, so I laughed about it and just did the level again. I made similar mistakes a few more time before I got it correct. I was my fault that one of the stages was very difficult. When I was playing the dungeon shop tutorial stage, the hint said I could steal from the shop but you will have a bad time if you try. I made it my goal to steal every item in that shop. I wasn't able to meet my original goal because one of the items chops off my head if I steal it; Reimu isn't a character that can survive without her head. I made it my goal to steal every item besides that one. I'm not a very good thief so I sorta got killed a lot for shoplifting but I eventually stole everything I could and I was so proud of myself. Sadly, I have to steal from a non-tutorial shop to get a trophy. So far the actual levels haven't been as unforgiving as the tutorial levels. I still die sometimes. The game makes me start the dungeon at the very beginning so it takes a while to get back. I actually got to a town in the first dungeon and did a quest for this catgirl yõkai. She just wanted me to talk to a bunch of random people in town. It's sounds easy but she only gave vague descriptions and the characters in the shops change between screens. I figured out that each screen had 4 possible groups that could spawn and I talked to everyone until I was correct. I didn't get anything for doing this, but she did say I wouldn't get anything before I accepted the quest. I actually had a lot of fun doing this. The game also has a status effect where you're just drunk. I don't know what it does yet. You sober up very quick so I never had much time to figure it out.
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #4 - Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars - Final Impressions Time played: 3-4h Trophies earned: 3/51 I didn't get too far into this, so it'll be a bit tough to evaluate this. I made it as far as comleting the first dungeon, which took a decent while. Not to mention the abundance of cutscenes. Anyway, let's see how this one did. I don't know what it is with JRPGs, but they have a tendencies to put in 3-4 different art styles into the same game. Chances are at least one of the clashes. There are 3 different styles of cutscenes. Fullly anime-like, The stationary image during dialogues that looks as if it as drawn, and the ssame type of image, but with the characters sticking out into the foreground. There was no need for the latter, so don't do it, it looks weird. When in dungeons, the visuals are actually terrible to look at. The dungeons are just a bunch of corridors (similar to P4G), but colour-wise they look really bad and the enemies are largely the same or similar colour. I've also have had my fair share of trouble with the interface. I accidently skipped several pages of tutorial, because contrary to most other games it doesn't prompt you to check out the next page, instead you need to cycle through it, if you see more than one little box in the top-right corner. I also accidentally skipped cutscenes, because I wanted to save. Someone apparently thought it was a good idea to bind "skip cutscene" and "open save menu" to the same button. There was also an issue with the combat, in which you can choose to enable auto-combat. This might have been one of the things I missed during the tutorial thing. Didn't realise I had enabled it, and couldn't figure out how to turn it off again for several battles. That was fun, seeing the Ai wasting all the mana to destroy trash mobs. Combat is similar to P4G as well, you run into enemy, and the battle begins. You can choose from which side you'd like to attack the enemy, the back usually being the weak point.. You got your regular attacks, skills, specials and of course your children. You're introduced to the whole "classmating" thing really early on, and apparently we have the god's gift, because we have the highest "ether count", so we're sure to produce blood thirsty offspring, with a selection of suitable females. So far there hasn't been any fan service at least, but the story is pretty much worthless either way. Anyway, you pick a girl, create a child (or several) by holding hands, give them a class and bring them to battle. They level up, as do you and both can also get gear. The leveling is another thing I have some issues wth.Considering there is a pontential to create hundreds of children, only the ones that fight get to level leaves little rrom for switching out classes. Having to level them from scratch is bound to be an absolute pain down the line. Overall it feels like a P4G with less depth and worse quality. At least most of the dalogues are voice acted, and they even went as far as to have some segments lip-synched. It's another ,.
Popular Post German_Atheist
Time played: 54 hoursTrophies earned: 25 out of 36 Ooooh, boy... where do I start? Well, first of all, I've already platinumed the game on my old account about five years ago after abandoning it for also five years. When the game hit European markets in March 2010, I was furious about how it ended up. I've always been a huge fan of its predecessor and I was horrified by the nature of the game. Linearity, poor villains, a confusing story, an overly simplified battle system. I was so pissed that I sold the game before even getting to Grand Pulse - the point where the world opens up and becomes open world-ish. However, more than nine years after its release, my view on Final Fantasy XIII has changed a lot. I really love the fast pacing of the game prior to Grand Pulse, and the breathless escape from pretty much everything reminds me of action movies like Enemy of the State. Despite being a rather old game, it still looks gorgeous - especially the pre-rendered cutscenes. The music is outstanding even by Final Fantasy standards (check out this, this and this). Well, but there's always the second side of a medal, right? I still totally dislike the battle system. Not much thought process here. You mostly end up mashing the X button and let the AI select their attacks. Only very rarely you have to do more than this. Eidolons are completely useless. I mean completely useless. And they look like fucking Transformers. I've only used them when I was forced by the game. But my biggest gripe about this game is the massive backtracking. I'm currently working myself through the 64 Cie'th stone missions and my mental middle finger gets bigger every minute. For those of you that are not familiar with the game, have a look at this map (I've added some arrows to make it easier to understand). There is a section with six of those missions next to each other in a huge area called Archylte Steppe. You can only have one mission activated at a time. Fast traveling is only possible via certain stones. The process is like this: Get on a Chocobo (to be way faster), get to the six stones, select one of the missions, get back on the Chocobo (the game will unmount you every time you activate such a stone), ride back to the teleporter, fast travel to your desired destination, kill the mob you're after, run back to the teleporter in that region, travel back to Archylte Steppe, run to a Chocobo, ride back to one of the Cie'th stones... rinse and repeat. This is annoying beyond belief. What makes it even worse is the jittering camera while riding a Chocobo. Popular Post RuneEyesDragon
Game #4: Kingdom Hearts Final Mix (1.5+2.5 Remix) (I took this screenshot while playing the game. First-person view can be terrifying at times. ) I am not putting up an "hours played" section as the time in-game is over eight hours but I had the game idle for twice as long as I was sleeping with the game idle for four hours so the time is inconsistent. Still I did put in work every day for the time period. New Completion: 86.18% (-1.29%) # of Trophies Saved by the Keyblade: 1# of Unearned Trophies Trapped In the World of Darkness: 54!!!! (If you don't get the joke, there was a running gag in RPG Limit Break where people screamed "54!" during the Final Fantasy XIII runs because in one run that was the number that won the run - Lightning did exactly 54 points of damage to the final boss to win the battle without losing time.) Final Game Thoughts: An oldie but goodie, I played the original Kingdom Hearts back in my community college years and really enjoyed the story. When it got trophy support in 1.5 Remix, I thought I would enjoy getting the platinum. I didn't realize that you had to play the game in each difficulty setting to get all of the trophies. Surprisingly, Kingdom Hearts Final Mix for the PS3 was probably my most complete uncomplete game in my very first PSN account, PrinnyBoy238. Here's the link to the page. The only trophy I didn't get was the one for getting all of the Gummi Ship blueprints. Luckily, the full collection for PS4 edited the trophy list - not only allowing you to get all of the trophies for difficulty on Proud(I was surprised that I spent so much time on Standard in my old account ) but giving you a pass at 30 Blueprints instead of making you get them all, which I think was good because you had to do ALL of the Gummi Missions and one of them was probably the most hardcore - you had to go all the way from the final area to the first area via the secret gummi path WITHOUT scoring a single point or taking any damage. Basically you had to barrel roll like mad and pray that your Starfox 64 skills kept you from ramming into an enemy or accidentally picking up something worth points. Also, the PS3 version had summon lag so you had to pause buffer to make the summons faster. If you want the best experience the full collection on PS4 is the best way to go. The Struggle: All I actually did in this three-day run was get to Traverse Town. I haven't even started the sequence to the boss there yet, Sora is still chilling in the hotel room with Yuffie(and Squ--er, Leon, so get your mind out of the gutter ) after opening the chests there. My sessions were farming Shadows in Destiny Islands and then getting Heartless Hunter in the Shadows at Traverse Town. He's not even Level 15 yet, but he's 30 EXP from that. Yeah, you may think "CJ, you are crazy! You'll get that trophy from playing the game normally!" Yeah, normal people get that after clearing everything up to the final boss... but I am not mormal. Still, there are a lot of tough challenges ahead - the slog of 50 rounds of the Hades Cup, the terror of the super-bosses... but first I had to get through Proud Mode and start over on Beginner to reduce the damage I take! No way am I fighting Sephiroth on Proud. Some of you may get your jollies out of that, but not me. Then again, I'd probably die anyways as Sephiroth is no joke. Oh yeah, the secret boss Unknown... My Game Rating: 4.5/5 My Trophy List Rating: 3.5/5 Hardest Trophy Left to Obtain: One-Winged Angel Easiest Trophy Left to Obtain: Customizer (the very next trophy I am going to get when I return to this game) See you tomorrow, when I try to tackle Castle Oblivion. Right now I need to pick up my copy of Dragon Quest Builders 2. On 7/12/2019 at 11:50 AM, El Duderino said: I still totally dislike the battle system. FIFTY-FOUR!!!! Popular Post DamagingRob
Mr. Shifty- Final Review Yeah, I really don't have much to add. Played through the last two levels and beat the game. Surprisingly, died a lot less in those than in the 16th level (where I had 65 deaths). A section of the final level is nuts, though. Tons of enemies and lasers going left to right and up and down. Getting through all 18 levels without dying is something I'm not sure I'll ever attempt. :/ Would take a lot of practice, and a ton of frustration along the way. But yeah, it's a pretty unique and fun Hotline Miami clone. But without as memorable a soundtrack, and a lot less violent. Not even sure there was any blood at all. Probably another . Time played: 3-4 hours. Trophy progress: 13/14 for 71% and an A rank. Should be noted the Speedrunner trophy is glitched in a good way. It unlocked just for beating the game. Popular Post dmland12
Game #2: Fenix Furia Trophies: 31/36 (80%) Completion: 95.55% (-0.13%, -0.73% from start) Did you ever wonder what it would be like if the developers of My Name is Mayo made a hard 2-D platformer inspired in part by Super Meat Boy? Well, as it turns out they already did (before the mayo game). Fenix Furia is that game. It's a 2-D platformer where the main gimmick is that you have infinite mid-air jumps and infinite dashes. There's 180 levels, split up into 9 worlds, each with a boss fight for the final level. There's also two additional game modes you can unlock, Challenge mode and God mode, which changes the way you play each level. (Challenge mode gives you a limited number of jumps and dashes to work with to complete the level and God mode makes you invincible and able to kill enemies on contact, but you'll be tasked with killing them all before a timer runs out). So even though most levels are rather short there is quite a bit here. It's easy to die, although it's not much of a setback and relatively painless most of the time. As such, I'm not sure the game should really be considered in the same category as other hard platformers, but it's certainly not a casual platformer. Time for a few negative impressions: The level design is a bit uneven. Some of the levels are a lot more difficult/annoying than others that are near them. A few of the levels feel like the easiest and quickest way to beat them is to spam dash or jump at the beginning and just die over and over until things line up and you get through. The basic enemy (green blob that moves back and forth) is overused. It feels like they're everywhere at times. That said, there's also some much more interesting levels and mechanics in the game. When the levels hit the mark, it was quite good. I feel that the last two worlds (8 & 9) are probably the strongest. They mix up the levels and enemies much more than previous levels did. The final boss of world 9 is a real piece of shit though, especially on Challenge mode. Overall, I'd say the gameplay exceeded my expectations a bit. Although... It also must be said that the game does have some glitched trophies. That's a real shame. Here's some gameplay if you're interested. This is challenge mode (limited jumps & dashes).
Popular Post dizzyshadow
Game 3: Bad North Now this is more like it, saw this in a sale recently and thought it looked interesting, but its far more than that a real gem of a game, very simple but one of the best games i've played recently. You are in charge of a group of vikings who need to defend their island from a invading horde of vikings who arrive in boats on waves, if you successfully defend the house you receive coins which can be used to upgrade your units, before you decide which island to move onto the next. it plays a bit like a real time version of fire emblem. At first its simply a case of positioning your units between the viking and the house, but as the game move on it get considerable more complex and there is a surprising amount of tactical depth, the game operates a simple weapon triangle (infantry beats Archers beats Pikemen beats Infantry), however before starting an island you have no idea who will attack, so it makes choosing the right squad difficult, once in the mission you can multiple attacks from different directions so deciding how to split your units become important, and also using the terrain to your advantage. getting the high ground, boxing units in and flanking them all improve your chances, but none of this is explained its left up to you to discover what works, normally i'm quite critical of this type of thing, but here it really seemed to work. The game uses Permadeath, so if any of your units die that's it they are gone from the rest of the game, given how few opportunities there are to recruit units this feels like a real loss, and if they all die then its game over and back to the start (with a different map & islands) which are generated each time. The difficulty ramps nicely throughout the campaign and there are moments of panic as you try to work out how to deal with a new threat without losing one of your precious units. My only slight complaint is that on later playthroughs the early islands are very straightforward and a bit slow so it takes a while for the game to get going again. Only 11 trophies, 9 are straight forward of the last 2 one is grind and one will be real challenge. I really enjoyed this so if you are fan of tactical games i highly recommend you pick this up. voodoo_eyes
Game #5 - Burnout Paradise Remastered - Preview Well, I almost forgot to post a preview for this, as I was focsed on getting the Atelier Ayesha plat. Only now I realised that the next game is up for hte event. So, it's an arcade racer. That's all I know, as I never played a Burnout game. It's a game I've always wanted to try out, and then it got "remastered". So I bought it when it was on sale. Most racing games I've played were more of the sim genre, and mainly involved motorbikes, orthe odd NFS game. Popular Post AsaraBaenre
Game 4: Reus (July 10th - July 12th) Time Played: 4 hr 48 min Trophies Earned: 1/29 (3.45%) Current Completion: 23.26% (+0.42%) I have to say this is a very fun game. I know I've only got one trophy from it but that's because I'm still figuring things out. Each game takes place in what's called an Era. Eras last 30, 60, or 120 minutes (I've only unlocked the 30 minute eras as of yet) which means each game has a set amount of time. Usually you only have enough time to focus on one "development" or set of requirements that will unlock new items to use in your next game. It means the pace of the game is really slow yet you're scrambling to figure out tactics and strategy within a 30 minute game to reach the requirements of one of the developments. I'm really liking it as I really like strategy games and this one is both a god game and a strategy game for sure. The entire game revolves around your ability to give resources to the land. Villages will then settle around those resources and ask you for specific resources in order to upgrade and get other bonuses. These all work together to create your living, breathing planet and unlock more options. As you play you can make better and better resources for your villages and play longer so they can develop more and more. The set playtime also makes this a great game to pick up if you've only got a half hour or an hour to play. The one downside was that I found the controls to be a bit janky. Sometimes I pressed buttons that for some reason I thought were intuitive but ended up having to cancel out of two or three screens to get out of whatever it actually pulled up, or found myself pressing the cancel button one too many times and ended up cancelling my god's movements because of that (and I may not notice for a few seconds that that has happened because the gods move so slowly). All in all 7/10, will come back in small doses to eventually work my way up to the platinum. It doesn't seem like a particularly HARD platinum, just a long one as each session will unlock one or two developments and there are 70-odd developments all total, most if not all of which are required for the plat. Game 5 Preview: Tooth and Tail (July 13th - July 15th) Game Stats: 1,290 Game Owners; 14 (1.09%) Platinum Achievers; 9% Average Completion 38 Trophies (1/4/9/24) Playstation Store Description: Lead the revolution with an army of flamethrowing Boars, mustard gas-lobbing Skunks, and paratrooper-puking Owls. Tooth and Tail is a Real-Time-Strategy game featuring Single Player, Online Competitive Play, Split Screen, Replays, and more. Build a base, lead your army, eat your enemies! I feel like I'm going to regret this one. The platinum list looks like it contains a lot of multiplayer, and possibly requires you to be GOOD at the multiplayer. I've never been very GOOD at RTSes but I do enjoy them. So we will see! Basically Tooth and Tail is an RTS where you are animals in the midst of a civil war to determine who gets to eat who (basically the losers become the meat that the others eat. It's very dark.) There's a single player campaign but also online multiplayer, and I have no idea how RTS controls will carry over to the PS4 (though the store advertises that they specifically designed the controls for the Dualshock so we'll see), but this game looks like my childhood favorite book series, Redwall, went down a dark Orwellian path. I'm intrigued to say the least!
Popular Post Kevvik
Little late on this but we'll get it done... Game #4: Superdimension Neptune vs Sega Hard Girls Initial/Day 3 Impressions Time played: 11 hrs This is another Neptunia spin-off from Idea Factory with you playing a new character, IF, who is an adventurer who travels the wastelands on her motorbike uh, looking for adventure...yeah, ok. She saves a girl who falls from the sky and takes her into what appears to be a mysterious library. As the girl regains consciousness, she is a bit of a selective amnesiac, knowing nothing until it is convenient to do so. Meeting a fairy in the library, you find out that parts of history are vanishing, she sends you back in time to different eras to find out what is going on. You find the goddesses (Neptune, Nepgear and the crowd) are in conflict with the Sega Hard Girls (Saturn, Dreamcast, etc) in each era and this, along with a giant monster eating Time and History, are what brought about the wastelands that IF currently inhabits in her era. Got that? Good. It's not like it matters anyway. Ultimately this is a vehicle for battles and the usual Neptunia humor, inappropriate double entendres mixed with teenage girls and meta-referencing. The characters work well once you have their personalities down and you'll smile and laugh as often as you shake your head at the humor. The battles are modified turn based with you performing a series of actions (attack, skill, item, etc) during the character's turn. Enemies do a similar thing. Nothing exceptional, the animations can be a bit clunky during transition but it's fairly serviceable. Your party of up to four members consists of IF, Segami (girl from sky) and clones of other goddesses and hard girls. Skills come from classes, one initially though others can be unlocked. XP levels you up and you maintain HP, SP, equipment as per the usual RPG stuff. The rest is fairly straightforward. Missions get unlocked on a timer with taking too long resulting in them being consumed by the history eating monster, making it stronger for when you eventually battle it. Overall, not a bad game but nothing exceptional. If you don't like the characters, this will get tired quick. I like them though small doses improve the experience. I'll come back and finish this later. Trophies earned: 16/38, 22% for D rank Score so far: 6/10 Completion Rate: 83.80% (-0.24% for the game, -0.48% for the event) Next up: Game #5: Papers, Please
Popular Post SixyLove
Update 011 "Paying to Watch Advertisements" Playtime: 20 hours Trophies Earned: 9/45 14% I completed the first dungeon of the game. You get credits and a ending for doing it so I think I technically beat the game. This is the type of game where the main plot is maybe 5% of the actual content so I still have a lot to do. After finishing the game I was able to get myself a different companion. She isn't a Garrus Vakarian but was a large improvement from the companion I had before. I have to spend 150,000¥ to spend a night at the inn now because she insulted the owner. Then she was tricked into eating a knife, It was an ordinary knife turned into chocolate, by the owners of the sweets shop next-door. I stumbled into the DLC from Touhou Genso Wanderer. It started with a advertisement to go buy Touhou Double Focus; the characters staring in the DLC are also the stars of Double Focus. I already own Double Focus so the advertisement wasn't very effective. While I was playing the DLC (not DLC anymore because this a remake made by a company that's not super greedy) dungeon, I was able to successfully rob an actual dungeon shop. Stealing from those shops is super difficult because the shop keepers are stronger then bosses and are immune to most items/effects. They will also call their entire extended family to hunt you down, they're equally as powerful, if you manage to take a single step outside the shop without paying. Running away isn't a viable option because they can move at least three spaces per turn while you can only move one under normal conditions. The shops tend to be rare spawns and I usually only get one per dungeon max. Luckily, the shop I robbed was in a straight line from the exit. I removed all the walls between the exit tile and the shop, told my companion to stand next to the exit, took a item, threw a swap talisman at my companion to swap locations and exited the floor. I was able to get the trophy for stealing from a shop after my expert robbery. I only stole one item because all the items for sale were crap weapons and my inventory was full. I will probably not try to steal from these shops anymore because trying ended a lot of runs, the items are rarely worth the risk and it takes multiple items to have a successfull robbery under optimal. The DLC dungeon is very easy but I haven't cleared it yet because the boss is crazy difficult. The boss has a lot of HP and can deal a lot of burst damage. My Aya doesn't have HP pool to tank the damage. My companion can tank everything but the massive laser. I'm able to avoid the laser my I can't figure out how to move my companion out of it's range. A lot of my attempts end after I run out of healing items. I plan on just stocking up on healing items and allow my companion to do the majority of the fighting because she is a lot better at it then I am.
Popular Post Arctic Cress
Game #3 - Nurse Love Addiction Playtime: 7 hours Trophies: 9/25 (14% - E) I decided, before I was going to post a review here, that I would try to get at least one ending before posting my review. However, I got the normal ending where nothing happens and there are many events left unresolved. Oh well. Anyway, Nurse Love Addiction is a visual novel about Asuka Odachi, a first-year nursing student. She started nursing due to the fact that she had written in an old picture book that she wanted to become a nurse when she grew up. Also attending the school in her first-year class is Nao Odachi, her younger sister; Sakuya Takeda, a girl from a high-class family; and Itsuki Amato, Sakuya's girlfriend who is both intelligent and an avid video game player. Kaede Ohara, their homeroom teacher, also plays a role in the story. With all the main characters being female, you could probably guess that this is a yuri visual novel just from that. From what I've played, nothing has really come up much. There's been some surprising scenes, like the rooftop event, and some hilarious ones, like the cosplay event, but otherwise, it's been more of a tease with no resolutions. I will have to go and get the other endings to really figure out anything, I think. Because of this, I don't exactly have a favorable opinion on this game yet. It'll take a little more time, and with no other Vita games in my KYC pool I might throw a few more hours into this over the rest of the month. Hopefully that will explain things a bit more. Unfortunately, even after spending more time on this than the rest of the game so far, there's unfortunately not much to say on this. Onto the next game! Starting completion %: 71.51% Current completion %: 71.01% Difference: -0.50% Mary Skelter: Nightmares - 10/34 (14% - D) Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll - 2/42 (2% - E) [Apex Legends - 2/12 (10% - D)] Not much else to say, other than the fact that I might finish up Fill-a-Pix's PS4 version soon as I'm one trophy away. Other than that, as said above, the rest of the games on my KYC list are on the two consoles. Probably will begin Fate/extella link next!
Popular Post Psy-Tychist
Fall of Light. Playtime: 2 hours (in game clock) Played: Died 38 times Trophies: 5/24 - 8% Completion: 60.80% - ? 0.06% Feeling: Frustrated and Confused. I saw Fall of Light appear on the store and watched the trailer video. It looked like an homage to Dark Souls but seemed to have a similar perspective to Dead Nation. The story was vague but still compelling and the gameplay seemed fun and challenging. The visual aesthetic and the dark but seemingly warming story grabbed me and I purchased it without much hesitation. Upon playing it, has my opinion changed? Our story begins with an unnamed Knight who is protecting his child, Aether and trying to get out of the Darkness infested land and bath in Sunlight once more. The rest of the story is vague or hasn't been opened to me yet. It has alluded to the power of Luce (unsure on the pronunciation of that one), the Darkness and that Aether being an Indigo child is rare and also rather dangerous. The game plays like an homage to the Dark Souls style, but with a fixed camera and an overhead or isometric positioning. You start with no sword or shield (but acquire one of each quite quickly), have a lamp for shooing the darkness away and after defeating the first 'boss' you have access to an amulet which lets you heal. The combat has weight, has a stamina bar for each attack and each enemy has a good chance of injuring your or possibly killing you. However, there are many issues I have experienced while playing the game. As a rule, you can't figure out the distance of the swings of both your weapon and the opponents. I spent many 'fights' swinging just as wildly as the AI out of reach of damaging each other. The shield is only useful if fully facing the enemies and you have no parry option or deflect or counter. It takes an age to swing your weapon after blocking too, the enemy will likely hit you before you hit it after a successful block. Aether will wander around behind you and will cower from enemies, but there doesn't seem to be any penalty for her being 'killed' as it were. All you do is go back to her ashes and she revives. She is no aid in battle, although the game says that if she is close to you, your attacks and abilities are augmented. This never seemed to be the case unless it becomes more apparent later. Mostly this sounds like a rant by someone who is bad at the punishing games, which is partly true, but so far I have had 3 weapons and 2 shields to choose from so far through the adventure and have found no consistent way to break a shield enemies guard. These enemies come into the game early after finding maybe 3 shrines to use like bonfires. I've been hoping for archer enemies to shoot them for me, it is the only way to kill them without losing most if not all your health poking at gaps which don't appear. One other rather large bone of contention is that when you gain 'experience' from killing enemies, it doesn't stack. It fills a bar (which you lose upon death) and then flashes when you can upgrade. You cannot add any more 'experience' into the bar as it is wasted. To make it more annoying, you have to have Aether with you to make the shrine consecrated (and has the most overused angelic theme whenever you do) AND to level up. These level ups don't seem to make you stronger at all, just to add extra health. Enough ranting, I could go on for a while with the bad decisions it feels like the game has made. Trophy-wise the game hasn't been completed by many people and the trophies prove that. I have completed all the 'easy' trophies but will struggle to do the remaining. So far, only 13 players out of 217 have got more than 5 trophies in the game and they include multiple endings. Overall, the game has lots of niggling flaws, quite poor graphical fidelity, basic sounds and minimal if zero music and the voice acting is mediocre at best from what I have heard. I do want to finish the story and see if anything improves, or clicks for me, but I'm not certain it will. If you like this (style of game), try these: Dark Souls, Furi, Dead Cells, Hollow Knight, Titan Souls. Next Game: Trials Fusion. 1 Advanced issues found ▲ 1 1 hour ago, Ashuri-B said: Game 5 Preview: Tooth and Tail (July 13th - July 15th) So we will see! DamagingRob
@voodoo_eyes I'm going to make a change to my list. Became much less interested in this Sonic game when I read a patch has made it more difficult. Possibly a lot more difficult. And I don't even know how interested I was to begin with. Never owned a Sega console, and only remember liking one Sonic game. That was Adventure DX, which is nothing like the old ones which this is modeled after.. Think it's better to play another game I paid money for than waste my time with it. So, if you could replace it with Lollipop Chainsaw, that would be great. See which one of these "school girl fighting zombies" games is the better one. Have a feeling I already know the answer, but I could be surprised. Popular Post SixyLove
Update 012 "Talking About Superdimension Netunia Because I Have Nothing Else I Want to do Today" Playtime: 70 hours Trophies Earned: 29/38 60% Note: Not a game on my list. I just felt like talking about it and I reviewed the darn thing while I was at it. 1 hour ago, Kevvik said: This is another Neptunia spin-off from Idea Factory with you playing a new character, IF... IF is far from being considered a new character. IF was first introduced in Hyperdimension Neptunia (the first game) and was your third party member. She is a main character in the main line Neptunia series and I believe she makes at least a minor appearance in the spin-offs. It's very easy to miss her if you're not familiar with her character in games like Megatagmension Blanc + Neptunia VS Zombies due to her bland appearance and lack of story involvement. It can be argued that the IF in this game is a new character because she is a different IF then the ones in other games. She wheres different clothes from all the other IFs and has a different backstory. She shares the same personality and combats almost identically. There is also a bunch of Neptunia Universe lore that I don't feel like getting into. Story Kevvik did a really good job with their review and you should go read theirs, here. The story starts with a PS1 style FMV with IF riding her motorcycle, trying to look cool and stuff. Segami is putting on her best Neptune impression by falling from the sky. Since Noire wasn't around, IF catches here and takes her to the local library that was in the vicinity. Histoire is just sitting around being a lonely librarian when IF storms in with a dying Segami. Histoire asks IF to go investigate something at the end of the library. Histoire can't do it herself because she's a very tiny fairy lady. If takes a day to deafeat three enemies, so Histoire mods Iffy's motorcycle to travel through time out of boredom. Segami is also okay. Histoire then asks the two to travel through time for reasons that don't matter. You vist four different era's to see which CPU and Sega Hard Girl are fighting. Eventually Histoire will tell you to stop and you will fight the Time Eater, lose (it's possible to win but that's new game plus territory or you spend a long time in the forest killing boars), then watch a bunch of cut scenes that explain that you travelled back in time to the start of the paragraph. Nobody plays a Neptunia game because the main plot is good. You play Neptunia for the jokes and to hear the characters talk about random stuff. Some people also play them to look at the T-Rated "Gentlemans special interest" photographs. Neptunia is carried out of compete mediocrity by it's characters so let's talk about them. The Neptunia series has these characters called CPUs (Console Patron Unit). CPUs are goddesses that have a second form, called HDD (Hard Drive Divinity). I'll be discussing the HDD forms as separate characters because they have a different name and the character's personality tends to change in that form. Sega Hard Girls is also it's own separate IP. My only experiences are with the anime and this game. I'm also a Neptunia fan. I may say character quirks that never arise in this game. IF: The main protagonist of this Neptunia entry. She is a very serious person and acts as the baby sitter for the other characters because the others would accomplish nothing if she wasn't around. She also has a bit of "Middle school syndrome". She also cares about her motorcycle to the point she says horrendous swears (they were censored because of Sony's censorship policy) when someone tries to mess with it. Segami (Hatsumi Sega): The new character and is co-main protagonist with IF. She technically has amnesia but I keep forgetting that she has it because she practically remembers everything important. She is a bit pushy and yelly. She is always mad about the Neptunia Goddesses and Sega Hard Girls fighting. Spoiler She also loves calling Neptune "Crap bike" and it makes me very happy. Neptune: The main protagonist of the Neptunia series. She is a very annoying little brat who is the source of 97% of the meta humor. Her Japanese voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard and the English one is 339% too much California Valley girl. She constantly whines about being the protagonist or not being the protagonist. She abuses her sister's generosity and love too get out of her responsibilities and pudding. She can be a decent person but choses to be a little selfish brat and make dumb jokes hoping one is kinda funny. Spoiler She plays annoying third wheel in this game. Her spirit transfers into IF's motorcycle for plot reasons. A lot of "Riding" jokes are said. Purple Heart (Neptune's HDD): Neptunes personality becomes serious and dry. Sega Saturn: She doesn't really have a personality. She really wants to beat up Neptune for some reason. Nepgear: Spoiler Neptunes little sister. She is constantly mistake as the older sister because she is more mature and looks older. She tends to be the most stable character but she has her moments of insanity. She is very good with technology and will invent gadgets that rarely work. Will get depressed easily sometimes. She was also the protagonist of the second game. Everyone hated her at the time so in the third game they made fun of her every chance they got. Purple Sister (Nepgear's HDD): Nepgear's personality doesn't change in HDD. Game Gear: The emo girl who doesn't want to be in the game. Plutia: She has a very bad case of narcolepsy. She is very nice unless you're being a bully. She talks very slowly. Iris Heart (Plutia's HDD): The most extreme personality shift. I can't really explain the shift because I'll get banned from the forums. Mega Drive: She is the smart one. She hates Plutia because she has seen her HDD form. She is also not very good at rhythm games. For all you Americans, the Genesis was called the Mega Drive in every other part of the world. There is another Sega Hard Girl for the Genesis. She is a cow girl and her outfit screams America. Uzume Tennouboshi: The rough and tumble bad girl of the Neptunia series. When she sees something cute, she will be all like "OMG, so cute" in a very girly voice. Orange Heart (Uzume's HDD): Uzume's girly side on full display. She also fights using her voice in this form. Dream Cast: The outgoing, friendly ditzy girl. She is very OP in combat. Histoire: A very tiny book fairy. She just looks after the library in this game and explains plot things sometimes. Her favorite number is 3. Gameplay The gameplay consists of a lot of menuing between dungeons (they are very nice menus). Your goal is to complete quests because the Time Eater will eat them if you don't. You don't want him/her to eat quests because they will get stronger. Quests range from walking to a location and watching a cutscene, killing X number of enemies, collect items or beat up a boss. Eventually you will fight the time eater. When you lose you'll go back at the start of the game but not really. All the quests you cleared will still be cleared and the quests that were eaten will return. The dungeon exploration is very similar to the main series dungeon exploration. You walk around the same copy pasted dungeon themes and layouts from all the other games you know and love. You can see enemy encounters. You can avoid them if you want or choose to fight theme. If you walk into them the turned order will be determined by the "speed stat". If you successfully preform a symbol attack, your party will all have their turns first. If the enemy runs into your back or you whiff your symbol attack, the enemies will all go before you. You can also jump but it doesn't have a purpose 99% of the time. The dungeon exploration has a lot of slight improvements in this entry. You can climb on climbable surfaces, you can sprint, crawl through holes, hang on ropes and there is some light platforming. The dungeons are littered with medals that you will pick up because it gets you a trophy. You can find items by destroying destructable objects or by smashing your head into floating blocks, Mario style. The battle system is different but familiar if you played a main-line Neptunia game. You move around the battle environment in 3D, can attack enemies from any angle in your movement range. The battles are turn based. During your turn you can move, jump, attack, use a item and use skills. You have a meter on the right side of the screen, it will fill when you perform any of the latter actions except jumping. The attack option costs 10%, you do a single hit attack. Moving will take 20%; you can move a single step or you maximum movement range for this cost. You only have to pay meter to move if you have taken another action. Using a item or skill will take up 40%. Preforming a skill will also use up SP. Holding the attack button will preform a "charge attack", it expends your remaining meter to 100% but you will preform a powerful attack/combo; it's power is based on how much meter you spent. You're allowed to preform any number combination of actions. If your meter goes above 75% your turn ends. If your turns ends before you use 25%, you will guard. You are allowed to end your turn at any point. Ending a turn early will reduce the time until your next turn. Characters learn skills by leveling up they're class. Every character has few classes to pick from. Each class has a unique charge attack and class skill that will be equiped while using that class. Skills can be both battle skills or passive abilities. You can equip up to 5 skills (you start will three slots) you have learned. Any learned skill can be used regaurdless of your current class. Character as level up normally outside of the class system. IF, Neptune, Nepgear, Plutia and Uzume have transform skills. Transforms cost 200 SP but use zero meter and don't take up a skill slot. Transforming gives characters a stat boost and may change skills. The goddesses transform into there CPU forms. IF isn't a CPU but she is still able transform for some reason. Her transformation has her change clothes and bleach her hair. Spoiler Segami can also transform but she works a little different. She can transform into any Sega Hard Girl. She is able to use all their skills but loses the ability to use her own. Characters can equip different weapons, armour and ornaments. The equipment only changes stats and doesn't actually change your characters appearance or weapon model. Characters also have a outfit and accessory slot that will alter a characters appearance. This feature is criminally under utilized because only Neptune, Nepgear and Plutia have outfits and accessories. IF has accessories. Everyone else gets nothing if I remember correctly. CPU characters have a extra menu that allows you to equip different processors; processors alter a CPU's HDD forms appearance and have stat bonuses. In battle you will have gems floating in the air above you. You can jump and grab them to recover HP/SP and fill up your fever meter. You will gain fever meter by landing attacks on enemies. Your fever meter will transfer between battle. When the fever meter reaches 100%, a massive star will spawn above the battle field. You can leave it there for as long as you want and it will never disappear until you use it. Grabbing the star will enter fever mode. During fever, you hit harder, your party will always get there turn before the enemy and you can preform your EXE drive. EXE drives are powerful moves that have long and flashy animations. They only cost 25% of your fever meter and 40% of the normal meter. While during fever, the meter will drain for every action taken. Fever ends when the meter reaches 0% or all enemies are defeated; the meter will start at the % you had remaining if it wasn't emptied. You gain SP from hitting enemies, collecting SP gems or using SP restoring items. A character can have up to 1000 SP points at any time. HP is a characters heath stat. You want to keep it as high as possible but anything over 0 is good. Having a character reach 0 hp has them faint and they can't do anything. Then can revived with certain skills and items. If your whole party faints (there are exceptions like the Time Eater fights) you will game over and have to reload a save. Remember to save frequently and often because there is no auto save. I learned that hard way in Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory after only beating a very hard Blanc fight because the AI literally gave up, beating the rest of the chapter to only get killed by a penguin on a island that I discovered but it turned out to be a late game dungeon. Also there was the two times Hyperdimension Neptunia where the game soft locked after I used a summon and I hadn't saved in 3 hours. The gameplay can be very fun but it's very basic. 90% of the fights will be spaming attack. You are only required to use strategy during boss fights. The dungeon exploration is fun but the layouts are basic and you run through them in 2 minutes. Graphics & Sound The budget was mostly spent on the anime style opening, the one cutscene at the start and the credits. Most of the game's story is presented in visual novel cutscenes. The characters change facial expressions, blink and breath. The game has both Japanese and English voice acting but there are parts that have zero voice acting. Also, I believe some scenes have Japanese voice acting but no English voice acting. I prefer to play most Neptunia games in Japanese solely for that reason. The English voice acting is actually pretty good. Dungeons look okay. Urban environments look good but anything natural looks like a PS2 game. The character models look good, the enemies look good but a lot share the same model with different names. Everything 2D generally looks good. The opening and ending credits are great and I listen to them in my own time. I enjoy listening to the background music; the song that plays during EXE drive is ducking perfect. Trophy Thoughts The trophy list isn't hard but it will take a serious time investment. Just collect all of the things, keep leveling, be friends with your party members and see all the endings. I also like the trophy illustrations. Final Thoughts Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls is a mouthful to say. This is definitely one of the better Neptunia games. I really enjoy the game and can play it for days without getting bored. Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls is not a master piece or something you need to play before you die. It's still a dumb little anime style series that has very slight appeal. You don't need to have played the other Neptunia games to enjoy this one but it will help you understand Neptune's meta humor; it still won't be funny. The Sega Hard Girls anime is a interesting watch if you enjoy Sega games. It called something like Si-Hi-Cool or some weird name like that. I remember watching it on Crunchy Roll while waiting for my Grand Theft Auto V bunker to fill and enjoyed my time. Episodes are only 12 minutes long so the time investment isn't too big. Please give reputation to Kevvik if you liked this, because I wouldn't have written this if they didn't say IF was a new character.

A good idea to get Lollipop Chainsaws 1 online trophy requiring access to leader-boards out of the way. Didn't know it had online. But yeah, probably would be good to get that done sooner rather than later.
