Speaking with CVG, who verbally presumed the next-gen hardware would never not come packaged together, Harrison said, "Correct. Xbox One is Kinect. They are not separate systems. An Xbox One has chips, it has memory, it has Blu-ray, it has Kinect, it has a controller. These are all part of the platform ecosystem." Microsoft recently confirmed to IGN that Xbox One would not require Kinect to function, but it seems the system will always come with it. Microsoft have already confirmed that the Kinect is optional and does not need to be hooked up for the Xbone to function.It would be more like Sony shipping PlayStation 4's without a PlayStation Eye which is exactly what they're doing because people don't want to be forced to buy something they won't use. Every box came with R.O.B. (Robotic Operating Buddy)? It was a cute gimick that was only used with a few games and eventually was discontinued because people didn't use it. Welcome to the future. MellowSly Posted August 23, 2013 Share Posted August 23, 2013 (edited) You would think by now from all of their 180s on their policies, they would finish the job and make a bundle without the Kinect. The Kinect may be seen as some "impressive new tech", but at the end of the day most gamers just want to sit down on their couch/chair/etc..and just use a controller. Plus I highly doubt a large majority of Xbox owners would want to scream at their TV just to do some simple commands at every waking moment.
