DEI2EK
Agent and Deep Down are two games that will never be released. They're dead, can almost 100% guarantee it.

MadDoggMajima
As much as I want to see Rockstar introduce a new franchise, I don't believe it'll ever return unless GTA V stops being profitable, which by my calculations is approximately 10 seconds after the heat death of the universe.
Popular Post The Alchemist
Not only is Agent dead with zero chance of ever seeing the light of day, but I also truly believe that Rockstar are finished with new IP completely. If it isn't GTA Online, it isn't worth the hassle to Rockstar. Look how they've treated RDR2 fans regarding the online. That game is the 12th best selling video game of all time with 40m copies sold and Rockstar still isn't bothered to do anything with it, because it doesn't bring in a fraction of the money that GTA:O does. Sorry folks, but Rockstar is dead. Better get used to it. Edited January 12, 2022 by The Alchemist
jgm4789
Considering the fact that they cancelled at least 2 known versions of bully 2 i wouldn't put it past them to cancel this.
Eraezr
It seems like to me Sony doesn't want to push Rockstar to rush into making it, in case it turns out to be another mediocre or less tier video game like Mafia III (another 2K game).

Lexiture
No, they removed it from their website last year. All the future output from R* will be RDR and GTA (and maybe even Bully II, if they ever bother finishing it). DrBloodmoney
There's no real sense in Rockstar releasing any new IP at this point. They make all the money in the world through GTA Online, and they get the critical acclaim they seek via Red Dead, which also happens to covers its own costs, and even provide a little profit on the side too. That's all they ever need to do... until that revenue stream dries up a little, if it ever does. The one thing they might do is gain some consumer good-will, by by releasing a long anticipated sequel to an existing IP... ...(that's why I don't think the idea of a Bully 2 is ever completely disappearing)... ...but even that would only maybe happen as a way for them to try to claw back some of the consumer favour they have lost by making missteps with sub-par releases of the GTA Trilogy. Even doing that is risky, as there is always a chance it isn't good, or is just mediocre, and ends up hurting their brand. The one thing they would never do, is risk releasing a new IP - that would require all sorts of capex spending to create and market, may not make it's money back, and could risk upsetting the delicate balance they have now. Remember - when virtually every new game you have ever released is highly regarded (as is Rockstar's situation), then making a new IP is a massive risk. They can't win, really. If it's great... so what? People already expect that. Even if it's one of the best games ever made, they can only really break even. If it's anything less than fantastic though? They lose. With so much of Rockstar's ongoing income being tied to their prestige and almost mythologised place within the industry - all of which is tied to the quality of the games they released 10-20 years ago - they would have to be fools to even think about creating a new IP at this point. Conor
Rockstar won't release anything that don't think will sell 50 million copies at least. Agent wouldn't have done those numbers, hence it will never come to be. Bully 2 wouldn't have either despite all the clamouring for it, it still would have been niche compared to GTA V or RDR2 and Rockstar can't have that. Given how they quickly gave up on RDR2's online since they can't even monetise it like GTA V's it just goes to show that Rockstar aren't the same company anymore.
saiyanbloodstyle
The art team for agent was reassigned to GTA 5, think you know why. Also the website for it is gone, i remember going on it back in the day.
dakk55
Agent is now the new Duke Nukem Forever, it'll be in development hell for decades before getting pushed onto a studio that doesn't even care about it, then released to subpar reviews. In other words, even if it does come out, will it be even worth it?

Ninjise
The game is long dead sadly, we might see more leaks or an interview from an insider, but that's about it I want to believe Deep Down has chance of being released, although most likely has been shelved as well unfortunately.
