First I finished the Vergil DLC of DmC, which was much faster and easier than the main game, but the story was a complete sequel bait for a sequel that will never be developed. After DmC I decide to fire up Gungrave again and had a blast with it. The game is just pure dumb fun and a worthy sequel to the PS 2 games, in my opinion. It is very repititive and you do the same thing from start to finish (shooting everything that moves, blasting up the environment end looking stylish while doing so), but this is the nature of the series and it is fun if you commit to it. The platinum and 100% on the other hand was a bit much, as it requires to play through the game 4 times and grind upgrade points on top of it.
Popular Post Buff_Cupcake
Update 5: Powerwash Simulator This game did things to me. It has some of the most satisfying gameplay I've ever encountered. There were no intense or frantic elements to it and it was supremely relaxing to work through each job, cleaning up vehicles and buildings. It also weirdly has a very fun and well written story arc which is told parallel to the jobs you undertake via your clients text messaging you. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a game that you can just chill and relax with. I genuinely cannot wait for the future DLC content they are likely planning. It was an unexpectedly well received game as far as I can see and the studio making it is expanding as we speak so I'm assuming we'll either get a sequel or some expansion DLC. Either way, i'll 100% be there for it. Destiny 2 Moved the needle on this one a little bit. I knocked out enough of the in-game achievements (a.k.a Triumphs) to warrant the 5,000 Triumph point trophy. I also knocked out the 30 Challenge trophy. Challenges are basically these meta-quests which you do weekly - so one might be 'complete X amount of bounties' for a specific NPC. You basically have to do 30 of those but you can only do as many as there are each week before you have to wait for them to refresh each week. At the moment i'm working on a trophy called Fashion Statement, which is to complete a collections badge. Collection badges are a set of in game requirements that you need to complete and it's a hell of a grind. The more and more I think about it, the less I think this is going to be a platinum/100% in time for the end of the challenge. We'll see! I've also signed up with my clan to run Master and Grandmaster difficulty level dungeons (known as Vanguard/Nightfall playlists in the game). Resident Evil 4 Remake I made a start on this one and I'm.....not actually sure how I feel about it. It's certainly way, way darker in tone than the RE2 and RE3 remake. At points it seems very visually and tonally similar to something like Outlast 2 to me, which is also another game I want to platinum this year. It's muddy, grimy and slimy at all times, which is the thing i'm taking some time to adjust to. I'll keep going as I really enjoyed the original back in the day. I'm sure i'll have a better opinion of it as I get further in. I think the thing i'm most looking forward to is the S+ run practice, which I find generally really fun as a concept. Other stuff: Dead Island 2 is apparently trending quite positively with the previews they recently showed the media. I've had my eye on that since the initial reveal, so I may actually either use a swap or just add it on here, depending on my progress when it has released. Powerwash Simulator Resident Evil 4 Remake - 0% > 7% Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - 0% Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - 0% Silent Hill 2 (PS3) - 0% Evil Within 2 Yakuza Kiwami - 0% Destiny 2 - 43% > 52% Wolfenstein: The New Order - 0% Thief Swaps used 2/3 And that's it! Have a good one everyone, and keep those updates comin'

AGAIN.... Man I really need to find a way to maximise my free time a little better haha..... I've just been gaming most chance I get instead of writing about gaming... Which compared to the last couple of years, is quite the difference So I finished Silence.... and had a pretty good time doing it If you want to read some general thoughts about it, I'll leave my thoughts from a status update in a little quote bubble, at least those are what they are right now, until I can get around to writing a full in-depth review of it, which I'm actually looking forward to a lot, as I have a lot to say about this game, but for now... There's this. Quote If you're a little bit of a point-and-click adventure game fan like I am (Well I'm a humongous one actually, to tell you the truth) then you might be interested to know that Silence is actually a sequel to a fairly small-scale title called The Whispered World, which is also pretty interesting. Ahh..... Silence, what an interesting little game you are, but one I don't know that I'd rush to recommend to people, purely because there's just so many better games available to play, That's not to say Silence isn't worth playing though, just play other games first - this is a game I'm actually quite excited to dive into a review of in a lot of detail in my checklist thread. As, through the games art design, it's got such an incredible amount of depth to it. It really compliments the story beats well, and makes more sense the more you stop and think about it. Silence does have some real charm to it though, it's just one of those games where you can tell the writer wanted it to be more fleshed out than it actually is, as the lore and world building are very rich, despite the relative shortness of the story. I did however have a little bit of a nightmare with the trophy hunting side of the game - which is not a criticism of the game at all. It's more of a warning, that the trophies can be more than a little finicky. I don't actually think a games trophies have any sort of bearing on the quality of the game.... The trophies in this game just are a little buggy.... Which is an irony that was unfortunately lost on the developers when they put in a trophy called "Quite a Buggy Game" Yeah..... no kidding Away from the challenge I've been doing some pretty big bits and pieces here and there gaming wise.... but only just racked up a few completions this week.... But I am actually making pretty good progress with my backlog with the games that were too high percentage for this event. I finished up Lord of the Rings: War in the North.... and played it with my awesome other half @Redblaziken8 - my completion time is 10 years and 8 months and 1 week... and hers is, well 1 week and a day basically.... So aren't I the ultimate speedrunner I've also finally decided to dust off my boosting boots.... and finally tackle some of the horrendous multiplayer trophies that were sitting on my list.... Well, and help Red with some of hers.... and my goodness was she a massive help too, thanks to her spare copy of Arkham Origins, we made light work of that online.... So I have also been chipping away at Batman: Arkham Origins.... and seeing that I can now get the 100% in all of the game... now makes me want to go back and 100% City, and Knight.... So I guess I have that road ahead of me now too ?..... I also added Grand Theft Auto IV to my list, as I haven't played that game in about 13 years, ever since I was a filthy achievement hunter... on that old Xbox thing.... I've already knocked out all but one of the annoying online trophies, and that I can just leave my console on, whilst I do something else, so that side of it is basically done.... So now I just have the single player to re-experience of a GTA game that I felt never quite got the love that it deserved..... I'm going to try and maybe knock out Observation off of my list here pretty soon, so that'll likely be the next thing I probably talk about at length for this specific event..... It's great seeing you all smashing down those backlogs as usual though..... Talking of "as usual" I've rambled like a prat for a while so I think it's time for me to shut up now.... ?
Popular Post StilRh
Hey lovies. Dropping my update a little earlier this week. I couldn't resist last weeks spenditis and got Dredge after a particularly stressful work day. I'm really digging it. It isnt scary per se, but has a slow building Elderitch horror vibe that I love in some segments and a comfy fishing sim in the others. I sense I am towards the end of the game but I still have a lot of fishies to find before I pop the last few chapters of the game. I played a bit more Sniper Elite 4. I played some authentic level difficulty maps without saving. A few I used guides and a few I just freeballed it (was really thrilling!). I'm a really poor shot with a 4x sight and unable to calculate wind/gravity very well but I've managed. I was reminded of playing Goldeneye on the N64... To unlock some of the cheats I'd have to complete a mission within a time limit. The hardest difficulties had me just run past most enemies, lol. I've got a little further into Monster Sanctuary. I feel I have a good team and I enjoy the synergies but I am finding myself thinking about other games when I play. Lastly, I've returned to Hogwarts Legacy. Completed the main campaign and now hoovering up the collectables. Egads, so many collectables. I'm hoping these don't bug out on my like others have reported. Over the next week I hope to finish with Hogwarts and take a big bite out of one of my other games. Popular Post grumpaluffagus_1
Update 2 The Witcher 3 (6-->9%) Stray (17-->100%) Spyro the Dragon (0-->100%) Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy (0%) Mass Effect (7%) Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (37%) Finished up Stray with some continued assistance from my cat. This was easily her favorite game of all time, and was a pretty enjoyable experience overall. The lore was much more in depth than I expected and it was great to explore every inch of the world. On a more disappointing note, I realized yesterday that at some point the difficulty on the Witcher 3 had been lowered from Death March and I was unable to find a save that still had the correct difficulty. So, I had to restart and am hopeful that I can still finish in time if I cut down on the amount of side content and random exploration. At least, there is no need to try and redo the few combat trophies I have already earned.

The trophy popped when I got the talents tutorial, so if anyone wants to know how long it takes, you get the trophy when you complete Jackdaw's Rest, fight a ton of spiders and then some more guardians including three brutes(pro-tip: Use Ancient Magic for two of these guys) and you get a cutscene and then the talent tutorial. As soon as the menu pops up, the trophy will pop. Now I just have to get the Slytherin and Hufflepuff to there. I've already done everything up to the specific house-related quests for the others. Then start over the game with a new Ravenclaw! Like I erased my save with World of Final Fantasy because I wanted to use a chest checklist, I plan on using a checklist I got to check off the stuff I collect because I don't remember what Esmee got. I'm going to be creating my FFXIV avatar as soon as I get some sleep, though.
Popular Post SicilianDragon92
Update #4 Ghostwire: Tokyo 0% Ni No Kuni II 28% > 35% Immortals Fenyx Rising 6% > 21% Kingdom Come: Deliverance 39% Wasteland 9% > 34% Mass Effect 3 0% > 100% Middle Earth: Shadow of War 12% > 15% Updates in Bold, swap (1/3) in Purple and completed games in Blue. Mostly just a quick note that I’m using my first swap on A Place for the Unwilling. I’m just finding it extremely difficult to know what to do. I picked it up having seen it advertised sometime last year, but it took months before the trophy list was released and as it is such an obscure game and the descriptions are so obtuse I am finding it impossible to find good information on it. So far I have finished one playthrough but the fact that it didn’t even unlock a trophy described as “the end” means I think I have to give up on this one for now. I’m swapping in Ghostwire: Tokyo as it has just been added to ps plus and I’ve been intrigued by it since release (though not enough to actually buy it). In other news I finished Mass Effect 3 and my opinion on it is broadly the same as the other mass effect games. Loved the world-building and the writing, not a massive fan of most missions being shooting galleries. I feel like that’s the kind of thing that other less well written games get lots of criticism for but Mass Effect seems to get a pass on. Have played Wasteland 3 and Kingdom Come a bit too, just not enough to earn any trophies yet. Next story progress is coming soon I think. Going to stick with them and maybe try getting some side missions in Ni No Kuni 2 before the next update. I must say that the final quest before the big dungeon to the trophy are all very unique and interesting. Spoilers below: Spoiler Gryffindor students have to get some rotten roast beef from the Hogwarts kitchen(and meet the house elves there) to offer to a ghost in the Headless Hunt who directs you to a ghost who plays a game where you have to find Richard Jackdaw's head five times by smashing the right pumpkin(which usually wiggles to clue you in to where it's hiding). After a chat with the head of Jackdaw, you go to the Forest. Hufflepuff students get told by a student about a portrait of Eleric Diggory(yes, an ancestor of the doomed Cedric from Goblet of Fire who was an Auror and a Minister of Magic) in the Hufflepuff common room who tells you that the pages might re-open a murder mystery where Apollonia Black(former wife of Nigellus Black, the headmaster) accused a girl called Anne of beheading Jackdaw when his ghost blipped into Hogwarts some time back, and her only evidence was that Jackdaw gave her a puzzle to solve, so she got arrested and thrown into Azkaban, and you can guess how that went(remember, Dementors were a thing back then, poor girl looked like a female Gollum ) So with the help of a former Auror, Helen Thimblesomething(sorry, names escape me), you visit the prison and talk to Anne to learn of a cave. You fight off a few wolves and then solve the really simply puzzle and get the clue, then as you leave you run into Jackdaw who you catch up on and he goes to explain everything to Helen, who got gut-punched by Anne. Ow. Ravenclaw(my main character) gets a call from Ollivander who says that Jackdaw stole a rare wand and hid it in the Owlery, so you are going there and braving owl dung to grab some statues of jackdaws to get access to the roof, where you meet the ghost and get directed to the forest. No combat at all here. (I had to do this quest twice because I replaced the Ravenclaw I made whilst in Florida for a clean save so I could check off all the collectibles. Finally, Slytherin has to meet a house elf called Scrope(who is Nigellus's house elf), who wanted to impress his master by finding a ring that Apollonia Black(yep, the woman who accused Anne) had hidden in a cave so you have to go to the cave and fight a few toads (which is complete a$$ because you can't fight or defend while swimming ) and then you meet the ghost in the cave(which requires feeding toast to a squid painting, which makes the trophy for reaching the chamber as a Slytherin hilariously ironic ) and get directed to the forest. After explaining what happened to the ring to Scrope(it was sold and now lost), the quest ends. So now I am redoing my Ravenclaw and using the checklist I found on Google Docs to make sure I miss nothing, even though the game has an in-game collectible tracker... that tracker tends to be buggy and not reliable.
Taruta13
Not an update but still... Finally got the Passing the Time trophy on the PS4 version of Minecraft by being AFK for two days spread over a week after putting a baking tray under my PS4 to keep it from overheating. Still gonna avoid restarting my PS4 as much as possible until I am sure that it won't spin the disk and error me when I try to restart. Now the Vita version... oh geez, that is a pain. You see, you can't prevent a Vita from entering sleep mode and you don't get hours on the Passing the Time trophy if the Vita is in sleep mode, so I have to keep tapping the screen to keep it awake. I do have power save on 30 minute sleep mode, but even then I tend to forgot to wake it up every thirty minutes(mainly as I am busy with other games), so it's annoying. At least having the files on Peaceful makes it so I don't get killed. Once I get that trophy on Vita, I can focus on getting the Minecraft plats by finding trophy realms or trophy seed so I can get all those required combat trophies. (Got a few on a realm in the PS4 version but need to get the rest, especially shooting a skeleton from 50 yalms away. ) Also started up FFXIV on my PS5. Not going to put it here as I am restrictive to six hours a night and therefore won't reach Endwalker until August, that's my prediction, as I am too busy with Hogwarts Legacy trying to get the last map chamber trophy. Popular Post freddie1989
Update time and another decent one!! Hooray!! Finished Lego DC, had a good time with this one albeit the collectible grind is a bit much. Messed up the red brick multipliers so had to grind studs for an hour at the end which felt so unneeded but we got it done. Likely give Harry potter a crack but beyond that will swerve the Lego series I reckon. Made a start on Mafia which just has a really great nostalgia feel to it. I have the 100% on 2 & 3 so this will complete the series for me. Heard good things about the race on Classic so I am not looking forward to that! Spent yesterday evening doing the speed run on Stray. Speedruns are so not necessary on games as they don't allow any form of enjoyment or to see the game for what it is. That aside I gritted out and got it done in like 1 hr 51 mins. Not too bad given I spent most of that time settling a wriggling 5 month old as well. Who says men cannot multitask! Will do clean up on that next time I get on then likely play Doom or Dishonored 2 alongside Mafia (or maybe something completely different) Lego DC Super Villains 68% - 100% Dishonored 2 0% Mafia 0% - 10% Doom 0% Final Fantasy XV 0% Assassins Creed Valhalla 0% Stray 5% - 54%

Actually grabbed a butterfly chest while trying to find the dang balls for one of the Merlin Trials and learned every spell by Alohamora, Bombarda, and Descendo(and the Unforgivable Curses but that side quest isn't happening until Autumn falls, after the first trial). Last thing I did before I logged off was tip a cow ten times, although the spiders were a pain to deal with. Also tried to get a 100-string combo on the Aracnomantula boss, but I kept flubbing because I had to keep dodging. That 100-string combo is tough. Highest I got was 87 against the Pensive Guardians in the Restricted Section. Didn't even play FFXIV today, need to make it up later.

But wanted to see how far I can progress in these before doing that
Popular Post Vulpine9Tails
A little update: 2. Hogwarts Legacy - 5% -> 10% 19. Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishments - 0% -> 21% 22. The Witcher 3 - 59% -> 71% I did make some progress in HL finally. I seem to be understanding what's going on again, just need to remember how to craft potions and stuff. No need to restart just yet, but it might be a good idea to do a new character now and then that's one less to do later. I also finished the main quests in the Hearts of Stone DLC or whatever it's called in The Witcher 3 and it was quite fun. I am really enjoying this game more than I thought I would, but I am excited to get it completed. Case in point, I am ignoring Hogwarts Legacy for the most part to grind in Disgaea 4 Complete+. I'm now at Chapter 6 after restarting the game and grinding out levels so I can get through the main story as I will need to restart the story to unlock a character class(and I missed all the chests in Chapter 5 because I forgot to pick them up after logging out for the night so I have to recollect all the chests ). I will do Hogwarts Legacy in the evenings since the databases are up and clogging bandwidth. Not like I am going anywhere as it's raining buckets outside. 14 hours ago, Vulpine9Tails said: No need to restart just yet, but it might be a good idea to do a new character now and then that's one less to do later. I just did all my extra characters right away and alternated story beats between them to get them out of the way.
Popular Post Heather342
Update #4 Hi everyone, hope you're all well and clearing those backlogs ? This week I played a bit more SMT 3, made it to Asakusa and cleared the first Kalpa of the Amala dungeon as well as earning a few more trophies along the way. The bulk of my gameplay has been with Legend of Dragoon. I managed to get through all of chapters 2 and 3 during the week. Today is a bank holiday in the UK so I spent pretty much all day playing Dragoon ?. Did all of the optional bosses, including Faust, and bought a few legendary casques to make some of the late game encounters a bit easier. The final part of the game is pretty boss encounter heavy, but also dishes out a lot of trophies ?. Managed to beat the final boss and pop the plat this evening. A great trip down memory lane, and a great plat to add to my collection ?. If you like old school turn based RPGs then you should definitely check this one out. Hoping to get back into my VR2 to play more Horizon Call of the Mountain, my eye appointment for new contact lenses got delayed so hoping it'll all be sorted next week. I'll need to jump back into Overwatch 2 next week too, as new hero in the roster means 2 new trophies and I'm on a quest for 100% completion. Keep up the great work everyone, and I'll catch you all next week! ? Trophy progress: - SMT 3 Nocturne - 13 -> 19% - Legend of Dragoon - 33 -> 100% Pending games: - Horizon Call of the Mountain - 9% - Red Dead Redemption 2 - 35% Completed games: - Spiderman Remastered - 100%
