Platinum in under 1 hour - Text & Video Guide

Text and Video here on how to get platinum in under 1 hour, whatever works best for you. It's a fairly straightforward game 1/10 difficulty with this guide, perhaps a 2/10 with other guides and maybe a 6/10 with no guides. For any other info, it can all be found in the text guide below and for anything which may contradict what other guides say, then please leave a comment about it and I will explain.

 

 

START - Intro.

• Sprint to the right climbing the ledges.

• Dig beneath the tree when it falls, then keep running.

• When the burning tree falls, run the opposite way and climb the ledge beside the billboards.

• Carry on left and climb the pipe you reach on the right side of the tower by holding the interact button.

• Once on the upper ledge, sprint to the right to reach an encounter at the cliff edge.

• After recovering from the fall, continue following the path to the right and enter the lair you eventually reach beneath the radio tower.

• TROPHY 1/28 - Home Sweet Home - Reach the first lair.

 

NIGHT 1.

• Don't eat any trash for 6 days, or kill any animal for 5 days.

• Throughout the game, a bird can randomly spawn in certain locations and try to steal a cub if you're not quiet. You must let the bird try to steal your cub once, then follow the prompt to scare it away and then pet your cub afterwards for the LULLABY trophy, mentioned later. Bear this in mind.

• Food 1/16 - Stag - Run back to where you fell off the cliff earlier and interact with the deer carcass to get some food, then take it back to your lair.

 

NIGHT 2.

• Run left to the T-junction and then go back into the lair.

 

NIGHT 3.

• Cub Scent - Follow the scent to the right while examining the 3 investigation spots to complete the search for this evening.

• Now retrace your steps back to the lair.

 

NIGHT 4.

• Pet 1/5 - Once outside, pet your cubs.

• Run left to the T-junction and then go back into the lair.

• In the lair, because you didn't collect any food, you will see a portion of your hunger meter about to be removed, quickly quit to main menu to prevent this. Remember this great tip!

 

NIGHT 5.

• Cub Skill 1/8 - Jump - Story related.

• Pet 2/5 - Once outside, pet your cubs.

• Run left to the T-junction and then go back into the lair.

• TROPHY 2/28 - Peaceful Instinct - Do not kill any animal (fish, mouse, rabbit, pigeon, chicken) for five days.

 

NIGHT 6.

• Pet 3/5 - Once outside, pet your cubs.

• Go right until the lair is out of view, then head back to your lair.

• TROPHY 3/28 - Detox Diet - Don't feed your cubs trash for six days in a row.

 

NIGHT 7.

• Pet 4/5 - Once outside, pet your cubs.

• Go right until the lair is out of view, then head back to your lair.

 

NIGHT 8.

• Pet 5/5 - Once outside, pet your cubs.

• TROPHY 4/28 - Mother Love - Pet your cubs at least once for five days straight.

• Food 2/16 - Berries - Keep following the scent and get these from the 2nd bush you pass.

• Food 3/16 - Fish - Continue left from the berries to shortly find this on the floor.

• Cub Scent - Keep following the scent and examine all 3 investigation spots.

• Once done, retrace your steps back to the main path that the lair is on.

• Then continue right without any turns and free the badger you eventually reach.

• TROPHY 5/28 - A Friend in Need - Release the Badger from the trap.

• Now return to the lair.

 

NIGHT 9.

• Cub Scent - Follow the scent to the right all the way to the far fork at the industrial area. Then take the right path to reach the 1st investigation spot. Now carry on right to reach the 2nd investigation spot. Then head right to the final investigation spot.

• Now go back left and take the 2nd path on the right.

• Continue left behind the bin truck and then take a left at the next T-Junction.

• Then go left to jump across the river.

• Cub Skill 2/8 - Squeeze Through - Keep going left and jump the gap, then drop down to the power path where the cub falls to. Take the cub over to the planks on the left and interact with it to acquire this skill.

• Food 4/16 - Candy Bar - Go right back across the river, then jump up the 1st ledge on the right. Continue left and jump up the ledge just before the river. Keep going left and get this from the 1st squeeze through you reach.

• Food 5/16 - Vending Machine - Now go to the ledge slightly to the right and jump up to it. Now continue right to reach a vending machine and find this food.If the door is closed and you can't access it, then keep checking your map every night which we skip until you see a orange event icon appear where the vending machine should be, as this would indicate it's open, then just head back over quickly and loot the food! We actually come back very close to the vending machine in Night 27 (this Tinned Food definitely counts, though be careful as I've had some Tinned Food from elsewhere not register on a few test runs).

• Food 6/16 - Mushrooms - Now go back across the river and continue left into a flooded basement and have your cubs squeeze through the gap between the planks here to find this.

• Food 7/16 - Rabbit - Keep going left and you should eventually reach this. Sneak up to it, then pounce on it and feed it to your cubs.

• Now go left to the T-junction, then go right and dig beneath the fence. Then head into the nearby lair before the night ends.

• TROPHY 6/28 - Tasty - Enter your lair with a full stomach.

 

NIGHT 10.

• Run left to the ledge at the T-junction and then go back into the lair.

 

NIGHT 11.

• Run left to the ledge at the T-junction and then go back into the lair.

 

NIGHT 12.

• Cub Scent - Go right and follow the scent all the way to the 1st investigation spot. Then continue right to find the 2nd investigation spot. Now head left following the scent to find the 3rd investigation spot, be careful of any traps along the way.

• TROPHY 7/28 - Never Give Up - Find all traces of the missing cub in the river area.

• Now interact with the jet engine at the 3rd investigation spot location to find the 2nd lair.

• TROPHY 8/28 - Surviving - Reach the second lair.

 

NIGHT 13.

• Go right, back to the small ledge you climbed earlier, then return to your lair.

 

NIGHT 14.

• Same as the previous night, go right back to the small ledge you climbed earlier, then return to your lair. If you encounter the Furrier on your way back, just follow the prompt and then move past him.

 

NIGHT 15.

• Food 8/16 - Trash - Go left following the cub scent and you will eventually pass by this after a few turns.

• Cub Scent - Now follow this scent to find the first 2 investigation spots.

• TROPHY 9/28 - Lullaby - Pet a scared cub.

• Cub Skill 3/8 - Climb - Keep following the scent to the 3rd spot where you will find a house and a tyre swing. Interact with the tree to unlock this skill.

• Food 9/16 - Apple - Now climb the tree to cause the Scavenger to move away and then go right to find Molly who will give the cub an apple.

• Cub Scent - Now drop back down and get the 3rd investigation spot.

• Food 10/16 - Mouse - Now continue left and loot the dig spot beside the ledge to catch this food and reveal a shortcut.

• Now climb the ledge and head left back to the lair.

 

NIGHT 16.

• Go right back to the small ledge you climbed earlier, then return to your lair.

 

NIGHT 17.

• Keep going left on this same path, and take the next right (not the fallen tree) to where the Scavenger is. Now continue right past the Scavenger and you will find the badger's cub beside the tall ledge at the end. Grab the cub and then take it left back to the badger.

• TROPHY 10/28 - Maternity - Reunite the Badger's cub with their mother.

• Now head left back into your lair.

 

NIGHT 18.

• Cub Scent - Follow the scent and examine the 3 investigation spots.

• Along the way, a badger will appear and reveal a new path for later.

• Food 11/16 - Meatballs - Now go back to the right and jump up onto the path that the badger revealed through the broken fence. Now continue right to go up a ramp and continue right to find this container on a platform.

• Food 12/16 - Chicken - Drop down the ledge near the previous food and wait for your cubs to drop down and recover. Then continue right to pass beneath the shutter door and enter the chicken assembly. Grab the chicken once it drops down and feed it to your cubs.

• TROPHY 11/28 - Chicken Dinner - Hunt a chicken for the first time.

• Cub Skill 4/8 - Hunt - Now continue right until you reach the car that says 'stay out' on the windscreen. Climb the ledge just after this car and then head left to find a house and jump up onto the cage just before this house. Now go right to shortly find yourself on top of a large red cage, then wait for your cub to drop into it to unlock this skill.

• Food - Mouse - Your cub will capture and eat this when it acquires the skill above.

• Now go back to the hole the badger made, but go straight past it and take the next left. Now go through the water and take the next right, then head left back to the lair. 

 

NIGHT 19.

• Go to the right past the first fork slightly, then go back into the lair.

 

NIGHT 20.

• Go to the right past the first fork slightly, then go back into the lair.

 

NIGHT 21.

• Event - Go right to find the Roamer, then bark 3 times in a row.

• TROPHY 12/28 - A Barking Fox Doesn't Bite - Bark at the Roamer.

• TROPHY 13/28 - Barking in The Rain - Bark three times in a row when it's raining.

• Cub Scent - Now go right following the scent and uncover all 3 investigation spots.

• TROPHY 14/28 - Never Let Down - Find all traces of the missing cub in the forest.

• Now interact with the 3rd investigation spot location to find the 3rd lair.

• TROPHY 15/28 - Hard Fox Life - Reach the third lair.

 

NIGHT 22.

• Go right until the lair is out of view, then go back into the lair.

• Cub Skill 5/8 - High Jump - Story related.

 

NIGHT 23.

• Molly - Now keep going right to find Molly. Interact with her when the prompt appears to let her pet you.

• TROPHY 16/28 - You Can Pet The Fox - Let Molly pet you.

• Food 13/16 - Potato Chips - Go left following the scent and you will reach a pipe near a bridge you run beneath with Molly in the background. Climb this pipe, then go left and drop down near the trash pile to land on a table where you can find this food.

• Food 14/16 - Pigeon - Capture one of these while discovering the 3 investigation spots. Be sure you crouch and pounce to catch it.

• Cub Scent - Now climb back down the pipe and follow the scent right to find the 1st investigation spot. Then follow the scent left to the 2nd investigation spot. Then continue left to the 3rd investigation spot.

• Cub Skill 6/8 - Deactivate Traps - Now go right and then take the 1st right you reach. Then keep running right to get caught in a trap and you will obtain this skill once the cubs free you.

• Food - Mouse - Go right and interact with the dig spot at the end to find a mouse and reveal a shortcut.

• Now climb onto the path above and then head right into the lair.

 

NIGHT 24.

• Go right until the lair is out of view, then go back into the lair.

 

NIGHT 25.

• Cub Scent - Follow the scent to the left and discover all 3 investigation spots.

• Now go left back to your lair, take care to avoid the Scavenger you pass on the way.

 

NIGHT 26.

• Go right enough so that the lair isn't in view, then return and go back to sleep.

 

NIGHT 27.

• Cub Scent - Follow the scent and examine the 1st investigation spot.

• Cub Skill 7/8 - Dangle - Jump up to the next right, then continue right and take the left path through the 4th and only open shutter, then climb the pipe at the end. On the upper catwalk, take the 1st right through the window and then interact with the bird nest at the end of this path to obtain this skill.

• Food 15/16 - Egg - Obtained while acquiring the skill above.

• Cub Scent - Now go back down the pipe and then through the shutter door. Then go left back to the main path, then continue left and take the next right. Now keep following the scent and discover the 2nd investigation spot.

• Cub Skill 8/8 - Dig - Go right a little more and interact with the prompt in front of the tunnel in the background to learn this skill.

• Food 16/16 - Worms - The cubs will dig this up in the step above.

• TROPHY 17/28 - For a Better Tomorrow - Learn all cub skills.

• TROPHY 18/28 - Omnivore - Let your cubs eat every kind of food in the game.

• Cub Scent - Head right to find the 3rd investigation spot.

• Now head back to the lair, be sure to let your cubs catch up after the water once you leave the sewers.

 

NIGHT 28.

• Cub Scent - Now follow the scent and investigate all 3 spots to find your missing cub.

• TROPHY 19/28 - Never Run Around - Find the traces of the missing cub near the dumping ground.

• TROPHY 20/28 - Family Reunion - Rescue the missing cub.

• Now pet the hunter.

• TROPHY 21/28 - Beyond Words - Let the Scavenger pet you.

• Now retrace your steps back to the lair.

 

NIGHT 29.

• Easter Egg - Now go right, drop down the 1st right and then go left into the nearby badger den to warp to the far top left corner of the map. Then from here, continue right all the way to the T-junction at the end. Now continue heading right to the end and then dangle your cub over the edge to obtain the Easter Egg.

• TROPHY 22/28 - Easter Egg - Have your cubs eat the Easter Egg.

• Now quit to the main menu and reload.

• Once you spawn back in your lair at the start of this night, go right enough so that the lair isn't in view, then return and go back to sleep.

 

NIGHT 30.

• Cutscene.

 

DESERT.

• Go left and rescue all 4 cubs from the water. You will need to pick them up one at a time, then take them right back to dry land.

• Once you have regrouped, continue all the way to the right to finish the game. Along the way, keep an eye out for any cubs falling behind and if any do, you will need to carry them briefly to cheer them up.

• TROPHY 23/28 - All For One - Finish the game with at least one cub alive.

• TROPHY 24/28 - Two Peas in a Pod - Finish the game with at least two cubs alive.

• TROPHY 25/28 - Three Little Foxes - Finish the game with at least three cubs alive.

• TROPHY 26/28 - We Are a Family - Finish the game with all cubs alive.

• TROPHY 27/28 - Extinction is Forever - Finish the game.

• TROPHY 28/28 - Endling - Unlock every trophy in the game.

I came across 2 major bugs on my PS5 run.

They are both related to Cub Skills, one of them I couldn't get the cub to follow me back down the tree (the cub's animation while it was climbing the tree was glitched, he was climbling out of thin air 2 feet away from the tree) and the other one the cub wouldn't grab the Easter Egg at the end (the animation glitched, the mother fox moved but the cub didn't). Had to restart both Nights by quitting to Main Menu.

Thanks for that info, should help anybody else that has a similar problem.

 

Talking about bugs, i've also read about the door not opening to get to the Vending Machine, or the Badger not appearing to reveal the shortcut to the Chicken Barn.

 

These may all be bugs, or some may be very low RNG events. So if these points affect anyone, either try restarting the day by quitting and reloading as Capt Fruits says, or try doing it again on another day.

 

On another day, I mean as in on a day where I usually skip it, just instead of skipping it, you will come back to wherever and try it again. Also remember there are other paths you can take as well.

 

The Vending Machine btw, is the ONLY Tinned Food that counts so you MUST get that one. Its weird, but from experience, Ive left Tinned Food till last on a few platinum runs, other Tinned Food wouldnt pop the Omnivore trophy, only the Vending Machine one would

I can confirm that just happened to me on PS4. Instead of taking my chances on an other day I preferred quitting to main menu and follow the guide's path. Might be a RNG event or a bug, but reloading the day can fix it.

Cant get the vending machine door to open no matter what. Reloading saves, doing it on different nights. Nothing.

Just keep checking back, thats all you can do. I cant say for sure if its a bug or randomised.

That maybe a way to tell if its open, rather that keep sprinting all the way back to check, just open the map and see if the orange event icon is there.

You don't need the vending machine food. I got a piece of food via a cub squeeze in junkyard area it was a bag that said MEAT but it popped up as a tin can when eaten and it counted. Cause like others the door wasn't open for me. Amazing guide though!

What that popped the trophy?? From my experience, other Tinned Food doesn't count.........

 

Due to my weird experience with the Tinned Food, I deliberately left it till last on a Test Plat Run. I then got the Tinned Food just to the left of where you take the Badger Cub back to the Badger earlier, no trophy. So I then restarted, but this time tried the Tinned Food at the Vending Machine and it popped then.

 

So may take away was that other Tinned Food doesn't count, or maybe a glitch, but the Vending Machine tinned food works. 

 

But if you managed to pop it on a completely different Tinned Food, then please let me know and I will mention it in the guide.

 

It's possible only that specific Tinned Food near the Badger Cub rescue doesn't work, or it was just coincidence and I was hit with a bad glitch......

 

I almost bought the Xbox version so I can check if the Achievement tracker works for the trophy, then I can see EXACTLY what counts properly, but the game is a little too expensive for what it is. Definitely would never have played this if it hadn't come to Plus

First night I saw the icon and was able to go to the vending machine was Night 23 and 24. I went to it on 24 and got the cans.

So if I was to say to others, "just keep checking your map every night until a orange event icon appears where the vending machine is, then head over and grab it", that would pretty much cover it??
