Cryax's Platinum Stories: A Tale Of Procrastination

Hi I'm Cryax, I'm 17 and i'm from England. This thread was previously called 14 year old trophy hunter but I felt it was appropriate to change that when I updated the thread. Anyway there's not much more to the story so here are my platinum trophies. Enjoy!

 

Borderlands Defender

This was the start of my trophy hunting. At first I didn't set out to platinum but as I ventured further into the game and bought the DLC I started to enjoy it more. The base game without the DLC is still very enjoyable and offers some very inventive bosses (*Cough *Cough 9 Toes) but then the DLC adds a different twist to the game. It can be agreed that the Moxxi and Claptrap DLC's were bad but I though the General Knoxx and Dr. Ned DLC's were amazing bringing the first raid boss to the franchise and paving the way for the next 2 instalments.

When I saw this on the PlayStation store I just had to buy it. I had all 3 games on my PlayStation 2 and I played them as I was growing up along with Ratchet and Clank and Jak so I thought I'd have some fun with it, and that I did. Playing through the old story and playing as one of my favourite PlayStation heroes again brought back so many good memories and it was exactly how I remembered it.  

 

Hardest Trophy:

The Lombax Triumphant

Ratchet and Clank A Crack in Time:

This platinum comes with a similar story as sly, another one of my PlayStation heroes returned with a new game so I just had to have it. A Crack in Time didn't disappoint following suit with the previous games, a great plot combined with awesome gameplay tied in with a hilarious villain makes for a good time. Hopefully Insomniac carry on in the same way, if so I will be a happy customer.

NFS Hot Pursuit Elite

Need For Speed Hot Pursuit:

Not being a big fan of racing games, mainly because I'm bad at them, however, Hot Pursuit surprised me as I had a really good time playing it. Not only does it offer racing, like the previous titles, you have the option to play as a cop in pursuit of the racers which offers an exciting twist on racing games as opposed to racing around a linear race track with which personally offers no excitement to me at all.

 

Hardest Trophy:

Golddigger- Earn a gold medal in every single-player race event

Oh my god don't even get me started with this piece of crap game. It's so terrible I can't believe I wasted 2 and a half hours on it.

To start out I've got to say I love the skate games but one problem I had is playing skate 3 before 2. I feel this is a mistake because in my opinion skate 3 is a lot easier than skate 2 so I had a short amount of time getting used to how it handled but overall still among my list of favourite games even though the online trophies are a bit of a grind ( No pun intended ).

Mastered The Jungle

Far Cry 3:

When I first got this game I didn't know what to think of it I'd played number 1 and thought it was ok I played number 2 and didn't like it, but far cry 3 was absolutely amazing. Its one of the most beautiful games I have ever played and there were pretty much no challenging aspects to the game.

Fully Inked- Earn every tattoo by learning all the skills

Sly 2:

I enjoyed this sly slightly more than the first as you don't have to collect all of the clue bottles but apart for that this is pretty much the same as the first game.

Borderlands 2:

I don't think that words can describe how much I love this game. Unlike most games this is better than its first, the sick jokes always make me laugh even though I've finished it 3 times now and in my opinion its still an very strong shooter and also one of my favourite games ever.

 

Hardest Trophy:

Challenge Accepted- Complete level 1 of all the non-level-specific challenges with a single character

Enjoyment rating-10/10

#11 and #12-
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy:

 

40.46% Uncommon

Also one of the more enjoyable games from PS2 remastered on PS3 along with Sly and Ratchet and Clank. Unlike Sly and Ratchet and Clank I had never played any of the Jak and Daxter games so this was an entirely new experience for me and I can honestly say that I wasn't disappointed by it. However towards the end of the game it does become slightly repetitive and collecting all of the orbs can cause a problem as some are hard to spot ( F*** you spider cave).

 

Hardest Trophy:

The Super Orberator- Collect 2000 precursor orbs

Guacameele! Platinum Trophy

Guacameele:

In my opinion this is on of the best 2D platformer games on the PS3, to be honest I haven't played many but it's one of the best I've played. No matter what happened I couldn't get angry at this game that's how much I enjoyed it. To be honest small sections of the game did annoy me but not to the extent where it made me stop playing.

 

Hardest Trophy:

That was hard mode?- Defeat the game on hard mode

Skate 3:

Out of every game I've ever played I think this is the one I've most enjoyable games ever. My play time is around 200 hours purely because of how fun it is, there's so many things to do and explore like the skate park building. The only hard thing about this platinum, is the talking about team practice trophy, I know that its probably not just me that's tried to do it and been let down by one person who doesn't turn up so if anyone is reading this TURN UP FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT YOU THERE! Ah and its my first platinum of 2014! Also while I'm here I might as well do some self promotion, after gaining the platinum for myself I thought I'd write a guide for this game so be sure to check that out here- Skate 3 guide

Ah I can't get enough of this game! Its similar to jak 1 but jak now has a sort of badass look and personality, add that to the guns and cars in this game and it's a recipe for success. The only problem I had with this was getting all of the orbs and I'll have to admit I did use the orb glitch to save myself countless hors, but apart from that the game is amazing.

 

Hardest Trophy:

The Orbiter of Record- Collect 600 precursor orbs

Enjoyment rating- 8/10

Sega mega drive collection:

I never owned a mega drive so this kind of showed me a new side to gaming that I'd never really experienced before. To my surprise I can say that nothing is better that loading up a cannon and playing hedgehog pinball with sonic and I would highly recommend this to anyone who has never played megadrive games before.

Yatta!- Dr. Robotnik's M.B.M.: Complete the game

I had this game for quite a long time and to be quite honest I enjoyed it quite a lot. I then traded it in at game. Then just recently I saw it in game for £5 and thought why not? So I got it played it for a little while and got the platinum.

Terminator Salvation:

This game is the worst thing that ever came to ps3, its that bad someone gave it to me and for 2 weeks I refused to play it. When I did it was that bad I nearly cried and from this day forth I refuse to step within 200m of that game.

Veteran Commander- Complete the game - Become a commander on hard difficulty

Right the first time I played this game was Christmas day and to be quite honest I didn't think much of it. I then gave it a second chance and i'm so glad I did because I absolutely loved it the gameplay is super fun and I found myself playing it for about 3 hours every day. This also gave me my first ps4 platinum and made me a happy person

1CC- Complete Arcade mode without losing all lives, on Experienced difficulty

In my opinion this is the best Hitman game so far, the only problem I have with it is that its just too easy. I played it through on my second play through at purist difficulty and only found myself stuck once or twice, and also the play styles didn't seem to phase me that much (this is the thing that most people say they have trouble with)

This is the one game that made me believe I was human. I don't want to ruin the ending for anyone so I wont say it but it really did bring me to tears. The decisions you have to make can dramatically change the way the game goes or the relationship you will have with certain characters. This is why I loved the game so much .

where do I start with this game? I started out liking it the quickly I began to hate it, the sheer number of play throughs that you have to do to gain the platinum is ridiculous  . I finished it with 7 play throughs. Then you have to get diamond knack, that's a painful process and completing the game on very hard is a drag. I would only give one piece of advice to someone trying to get the platinum, get diamond knack before you do very hard it makes it a lot easier.

I didn't know what to think of this game id played Lego harry potter and thought it was okay but not amazing, so anyway I gave it a try and I have to say i'm very impressed the story was fun,the side missions were good and the free roam was pretty cool too. This has now persuaded me to give other Lego games a try and see if they are as good as this one.

Hey, good platinum list, however like Dr Mayus said you should improve the style and visual, adding images, diferent fonts, bold, etc

 

If you do improve ths visual it will be much nicer and better to look at! Keep up the platinum hunt

I think its pretty good mate a lot of people I know didnt like it but i thought it was alright and its a really easy plat it only took me a lomg time because I sold it then got it back again.

LittleigPlanet - The Bunker stage is hard to beat without dying, should take a dozen or two tries. Everything else is pretty easy.

Resistance 2 - Can't plat anymore but the 10k multiplayer kills were a bitch to get legit.
