I loved that several snacks that appear in the game are local such as Guaraná Soda, Coxinha (Chicken Croquette in game), Brigadeiro (Chocolate Truffle in game), Acerola Juice, Açaí Shake, Pastel (Fried Pastry in game), etc. Furthermore, Dodgeball (called "Queimada" here) is very common in Brazilian schools. I played a lot as a child. Speaking of the game itself, the art is good, the amount of dialogue is irritating, the gameplay is addictive but gets repetitive in a short time; - Stories Untold for I-5 Recommended by a PSNP Member: I got some great suggestions here (and I'm still going to complete most of these games in the future) but I decided to choose "Stories Untold" suggested by @DrBloodmoney since developer No Code's next project will be "Silent Hill: Townfall" and I wanted to know what's all the fuzz about them and their little horror/psychological drama anthology. Well, now I know. The presentation is clever and the final revelations tie up loose ends brilliantly. The gameplay, despite being charming and efficient, is a little irritating and sometimes I caught myself wanting it to end soon so the story could continue, and that's terrible in a game. But overall, I can't wait to see what they do with a bigger budget and a mythology as rich as Silent Hill's. Thanks for the suggestion!
Popular Post GT__Jedi
Last day of April Update: Call of the Sea: Didn't know what to expect when I started this game, but was pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed the story and the graphics were a joy. No glitches or freezes and the game ran smoothly on the PS5. Game is set in the South Pacific back in the 1930s, and you are searching for your husband who has vanished while on an expedition. Voice over was easy to listen to and the music haunting. Puzzles were varied and not too difficult, but really enjoyable. Nothing is missable as there is a chapter select you can access at the end of the game. I'd give this one a solid thumbs up 👍 and recommend it for your library. One thing is this is the first game from the PS Plus catalogue I have tried streaming as it doesn't download to the hard drive. Worked quite nicely!

Popular Post DrBloodmoney
One more entry down! Box: "Originally Released in 2024" Game: "Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown" A nicely designed puzzle-platformed metroidvania, with decent - if a little finicky - combat. It's well designed and very elaborate level design is laudable, and there are some really well thought through puzzles and clever secret areas, but the game is a little let down by an overabundance of enemies that seem designed more to annoy than to challenge, a rather irksome over-eagerness to interrupt boss battles with cut-scenes, and a pretty rote and rather flat visual style. The story is quite fun though, and there are a few areas where some nice visual work shines through - and while the voice work is unlistenable poor in English, it improves quite a bit when switched to the Persian dialogue - an option I appreciate being in there! Came out just this side of the new year, so provides a good cover for this box!

That's perfectly fine. They don't have to be a direct one to one spin off. As long as the game series spun off something outside of gaming, that would count. I've gone through and done updates! Popular Post graphic_violins8
Two more, and I have my first bingo. Got Online Features with Galaga Legion DX, which features an online leaderboard. I was going to use it for Bullet Hell but I found a better option for that square. Then, for Players choice, I chose Level 22. Popular Post petit_renard0
Finally, my first 'platinum' Bingo! I just finished Prey: Mooncrash. As a huge fan of the base game, I must admit that I really had fun with this expansion too. Its design gives the game a completely different pace, which was an interesting experience. If anyone hasn't had a chance to play yet, I highly recommend Olija. Little gem, nice story, enjoyable gameplay and great sound design. I'm still considering changing a few titles on the list, especially after being disappointed with some games, most notably Burnout Paradise and Castlevania, and the tiring grind of Bioshock and Sniper Ghost Warrior's online modes. But as for now let's go for the next bingo! Edited May 2 by petit_renard0 removing unnecessary link
Popular Post Beyondthegrave07
April Update: Guys, I'm trying. I'm trying really hard and I am finishing a lot of games, but F me and my crummy card that I drew. lol. I have finished roughly 20 games including DLC, but they just don't work on this card. I1 is pain because it's very limited and I will have to really search PS+ extra to find something for it, O5 is oddly specific, G2 is also oddly specific, B4 is difficult to find to match my playstyle (I don't play a ton of super short games), I4 is hard because I don't buy new games... like ever, and oldest in my backlog is a game I have been putting off playing because I find it trash. This card is looking rough to complete despite the fact I could very well finish 50 games this year. HOWVER, for April, I finished 4 games, but only 2 of them fit into this. I put down Star Ocean: First Departure R for "Takes forever to beat" due to the multiple playthroughs you have to do to complete it and it gets very grindy towards the end to finish. Then, I put Echoshift for G5 for my "Puzzle game" which is kind of the obvious pick here. I'm hoping this month that I can finish releasing your inner weeb and maaaybe finish in one sitting or has no platinum? I guess we'll find out together. Despite all my complaining about my card, I did get my second BINGO so that is something! It's a lot of fun and I think it's still on extra, if you have it. I enjoyed Second Son, but I thought First Light was even better. It's also fairly short so it should be easy to get through if you aren't into it.
Popular Post Venal
New entry: B4 - Racing or Sports: Need for Speed Heat. Hard to get into since the driving feels a bit off until it clicks. The middle of the game becomes a lot of fun once you find a car you enjoy driving, and I'd even say that getting some of the collectibles and completing the first few activites wasn't bad. What was bad was the amount of grinding that was left in the end, and some of the speed traps as well as most of the drifting activities were no fun at all for me. Popular Post ExHaseo
It has been completed. BLACKOUT N3 - Player's Choice - Light Fairytale Episode 2 - I went through a few games before settling on Light Fairytale Ep 2 as my last square. Mostly because I thought the picture would look cool in the middle of the card lol. I actually completely forgot that I had bought this game months ago. I really liked Episode 1 and I really think this little dev has a lot of potential. So I was happy to pick up Episode 2. Just like the first one, it does an incredible job of capturing the mood and overall feeling of old-school PS1 era JRPGs. Something I've never seen any other game do. Games that try are usually too polished, use too much modern game design, or just feel off. But Light Fairytale really nails it. Right down to being deeply flawed but still overall enjoyable. So that's blackout. I was thinking about doing another card, but most of the games outside of FFXIV I've been wanting to play lately are either Nintendo games (been wanting to finish my 3DS backlog), retro games (still need to finish Xenosaga Ep2 and 3), or replays of games (been itching to replay the KH series start to finish). None of which count for the event. If I get another card, I'll just go back to neglecting all of those lol. Another fun year though. I'm sure I'll be back for next year's event. Good luck to everyone still working on their cards!

I always wanted to go back at least to finish the campaign and now I did just that. Having played the other three main games, I found this to be the weakest. The less interesting mythology, bad pacing, too many parts where the character just walks, the main villain is more annoying than threatening... What I liked most were the new characters Sam and Nadine, the huge cinematic chase in Madagascar and that it gives a decent ending to Nathan. I'm not going after the platinum, but I'm already happy to have finally completed the campaign.
