Popular Post Baker
Game #11 done: Award Winning The Outer Worlds This game has won some NAVGTR awards. It’s basically a Fallout clone only it’s much better than Fallout. There are quite a few missable trophies that can be circumvented by save scumming. Unfortunately I noticed that too late so I have to do a third playthrough. In my first playthrough I really took my time doing a lot of sidequests and exploring which is how this game should be played. My second playthrough on Supernova difficulty took under an hour. You can speedrun really fast through this game if you want. Very fun game with some good humor, good combat system and good story. As you all know it’s on PS Plus Extra right now so I highly recommend playing it. Next up: FFVII: Rebirth. Until a few months from now. 😀 Edited February 28 by Baker

Popular Post JayDeLosDioses
After having some troubles unlocking some trophies in GTA 5 when I went for all editor mode trophies I took a break. But now it's cleaned up, platinum in GTA 5 is achieved and I'm marking the minigames square with my completion. There's a bunch of activities / minigames you can do in GTA with my least favorite being tennis and golf being the best, just because I think the detail in an activity / minigame that's probably not played by many people is mind blowing to me. Sadly there's no bowling
Popular Post ArtikSkarab
Been a bit since I've updated over here, but I've completed 3 more games on my board. Side-Scrolling/Bullet Hell: Yooka-Laylee and the impossible Lair A much better entry for this anthropomorphic animal duo. While I was waiting for my recommendation, I started this game that I got on sale. Being developped by Playtonic aka former Rare devs, this is a clear Donkey Kong Country style game and, weirdly enough, is closer to the Returns games than the original trilogy. It's overall a pretty good game; some really interesting gimmick levels that each have 2 versions and is a fun time overall. However, it falls short a bit with only decent controls, some really obscured collectables, a small grind near the end to get the last couple of tonics and an insane difficulty spike for the final level. I was "lucky" enough to get it in 5 tries and am happy that was post-checkpoints. It's a game that I liked, but would only push for if you can get it on sale with a completion of time of around 18 hours. Recommended by a PSNP member: Killer Frequency (By @BrickwallBill here) There's a killer on the streets of Gallows Creek and the only person to help the citizens escape alive is... the radio DJ? This is a pretty interesting game. It's a first-person puzzle/adventure game where you receive calls from people in distress and, through dialogue choices and environmental clues have to figure out how to save them from their grisly fate. I was asking for unique stories for this square and was pleasantly surprised by this game; it's a really cool concept. However, I do think it doesn't live up to it's full value; some of the game mechanics like the soundboard and timed responses feel like afterthoughts. Also, I think it's pretty expensive for what it offers; a 4-5 hour game that has to be played through at least twice, if not more if you're either not following guides or skipping through the puzzle for the speedrun trophy. A cool game, but not a great one. Final time of 12 hours with 3 playthroughs. Aliens or and Robots: Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 It's a Dragon Ball arena fighter and it's pretty much like the first one. It's a decent fun and it did remove a lot of the really grindy trophies (no 100% skills/equipment), but you can see pretty much all of the bones of the original games: same story, same missions, plays the same. It's a pretty bad sequel, but it's still a decent game. Still have to go through the DLC and update trophies, but I'll wait for a sale on those as they're super grindy. 8 games down and have a couple of other ones already in mind for them. I do have one question about a square: what does the HYPE! square represent? I'm kinda confused by it; is it I was hype for a game, overall sentiment towards it or something else? Spoiler Completed squares: B3: Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair (NEW) I4: Röki (PS5) (NA) N1: Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 (NEW) N2: Mega Man X Legacy Collection N4: Wolfenstein: The New Order G4: Killer Frequency (NEW) O1: Life Is Strange: Before The Storm O3: Tchia

I think you can use it for both, but you could probably also use it for a game that you have heard other people hype, even if you were not hyped for it yourself.
ProfSeajay7
I was going to update but I have to reconsider my choice for Oldest Game in Your Backlog. I just popped Cat Quest was had not been touched since September... but I have a ton of games I am not going to get the final trophy in until July when FFXIV Dawntrail comes down, so technically, they would be the oldest in my backlog. What constitutes oldest? Cat Quest was the earliest but it now got platinum trophied at 5 months, 2 weeks. The other games I will pop, especially FFXIV, will probably have taken longer to complete. I did get one addition to the Bingo card, though: G4, Spawned an Expanded Universe, in Final Fantasy VII. There are some novels and a movie set in Gaia. I'll put the BINGO card up soon.
Popular Post ExHaseo
Just a quick update. N5 - That Gives You Feels - Final Fantasy VII Rebirth I don't want to go into any spoilers, I'll just say that this is getting a lot of 10/10 for good reason. Was trying to get as many squares as possible before getting a bingo, but it's rare that a game can make me feel things, so I had to put Rebirth in there. That's it though, just the one. I've been playing a lot of FFXIV, and was also slowly making my way through Persona 3 Reload and Hi Fi Rush with a game pass trial, but then Rebirth came out and I had to jump on that. I really didn't want to get spoiled, and didn't want to have to avoid places like Youtube, so I kind of bum rushed the main story. I wouldn't recommend it. Even just the main story is a lot longer than you would expect, and is best experienced at a slower pace. Now I'm gonna go back and do all the side stuff I missed, which I'm pretty excited about. Once I'm done with all of that I'll probably get game pass to finish up Persona 3 Reload and Hi Fi Rush. And that's also my first Bingo Baybeeee!
Popular Post Beyondthegrave07
February update (still remembering): G3 - Medievil Resurrection - you have a one-eyed little monster thing in your head as your side kick. O4 - Resistance Retribution - Came to PS Premium, I immediately played. Count it! O3 - Rally Cross - It's an arcade Racing game O2 - Kingdom of Paradise - All hail the RPG! Up next: Life is Strange: True Colors Elden Ring Syphon Filter I think Elden Ring is perfect for cult favorite. With online features for Life is Strange: True Colors is ballin' and uhhh... Good lord, did I draw just about the shittiest card! 🤣 Free space for Syphon Filter I guess?
DrBloodmoney
Hey @Squirlruler I have a few games that I could fill out, but all are a little questionable/ indefinable for the categories, so figured I'd hit you with the questions, rather than filling it out, then having the horrifying, unimaginable shame of having to remove them! 😱 Question The First: I'm playing Balatro, and don't actually expect to platinum it, as it looks to be something like a 2000-3000 hour platinum, but because it's a deck builder, I'm not really sure what would be considered "finishing" for the purposes of this event. I've finished a gold tier run (the highest difficulty), which might be considered "finished" - would that count as enough? Question The Second: I've got an auto-popped list of FFVIIRemake from recently - are auto pops considered acceptable or not? Also, if they are acceptable... Question The Third: So.... this one is a little tricky. I have Final Fantasy Remake done (pending the answer to the second question, of course), and also have Resident Evil 4 Remake done (at least, story complete.) I also have 3 different categories on my list: "Retro Re-Release (Originally Without Trophies)" "Reboot or Spiritual Successor" "Spawned an Extended Universe" In both cases those games belong to a franchise that had expansive extended universes - but they are both technically part of those extended universes, rather than the thing that spawned the extended universe. Also, they are also both definitely "reboots"... ...but are they also considered "Retro Re-releases" of games that originally didn't have trophies... ...or does the fact that they are remakes preclude them from that category? I wouldn't think these would be for the retro re-release, since they technically aren't a re-release but new games. The other two categories would work for both. For the spawning an expanded universe, I would say anything from the franchise that spawns the universe. I think it would be a little too restrictive if the game had to have an exact correlation to the extra content.
Popular Post DrBloodmoney
Three more entries down! Box: "That Takes Forever to Beat" Game: "Balatro" That awesome Poker-themed deck builder that everyone is talking about - and for good reason. It's brutal, but awesome, and absurdly addictive - I keep trying to play other things, then watch my evening melt because of this game! It's super satisfying, there's so many possible builds, and the synergy and combo game is strong! I'm nowhere close to a platinum (doubt I'll ever get there, hence the box it's covering!) but I did get my first "gold" ranked win - the highest of the Ten (I think ?) difficulties, so calling that a completion as far as this event goes! Box: "Spawned and Extended Universe" Game: "Resident Evil 4 Remake" A good remake of RE4 in the vein of the Rebooted RE2 and RE3. I was never a big fan of the original RE4 - I considered it one of the weaker entries, but have enjoyed this one a bit more. It hasn't solved all the issues - the story is still one of the weakest of the series (with the biggest plot-holes, and for a Resident Evil game, that is saying something! 😂), the bosses among the least memorable, the main character one of the less charismatic, and the setting the most ludicrous (Yo - Capcom? Spain isn't still in the 18th century, m'kay?)... ... but a lot of the problems of "action-game-with-mechanics-that-don't-suit-that-at-all" have been alleviated, you spend less time faffing about in the inventory, a little bit of the series horror roots have been added, some of the more unseemly "flirty" dialogue has been removed from the age-innapropriate relationship - and the game does look hella good in that sweet Capcom engine! I know this game itself didn't spawn the extended universe, but it's part of the franchise that has maybe the most successful extended universe in film! Box: "Reboot or Spiritual Successor" Game: "Final Fantasy VII Remake" Part one of one of the most lavish and audacious remakes of a beloved game I can think of, and a hell of a nostalgic tour de force for fans of the original game, while also being a damned fine, silly good time! This version was - full disclosure - an auto pop, as I'm currently replaying this one so I can then play the PS5-exclusive DLC, and then roll into the second part, which from the sounds of it, is excellent! It's as reboot as reboots come, so no justification required!

Popular Post Baker
Game #12 done: Spawned an Expanded Universe Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth This is one massive game. I just finished the story after 80+ hours. And for the most part I really liked it. For me a big improvement over Remake. There are still quite a few things that annoy me though. Mostly the pacing of the game. It is soooo slow. If there is an opportunity to slow down the game, they did it. Also the generic open world filler up stuff, which reminded me a lot of Far Cry, could have been less. Most mini games are fun to do, although it’s also a bit of an overkill. But I can’t complain too much. I really had fun with it. So 80+ hours in. I did a lot of side content already but there is still a lot of stuff to do. I expect to have to put in another 50 hours orso for 100%. Let’s get to it!
Popular Post ProfSeajay7
Update time! New Additions: N2: With gorgeous vistas: Final Fantasy VI. Well, at least gorgeous vistas for a 16-bit RPG that came out originally on the Super Nintendo. The Pixel Remaster cleaned up a lot of the overworld with actual water. N1: Crafting mechanics: Dragon Quest Builders. It was completely obvious that a Builders game had to be in this slot. I could easily make a BINGO now with the middle space, so I will try to bring in a Player's Choice.
