Popular Post ProfSeajay7
Okay, there's less than six hours before I have to commit, so I'm going to try to finalize this list of my first five games. I promise, this will be the last revision before the event begins. Changes Removed FFVII because, well, as you can see, I marathoned it so it's already at 100%. 😛 Placed another Final Fantasy that shamed me. Dropping Legend of Mana into the second wave due to other things. Final List: Final Fantasy V (40%) - my exception game because I HAVE TO START OVER. I missed a bestiary entry and have to do it all over again so I am putting this game here as my game of shame. Final Fantasy VI (not started) - I need to finish work on the Pixel Remasters. (2 and 3 are in my Platinum Rain Day list.) Wild ARMS (32%) - just barely skirting the borderline, but I have hit a slump playing this title on the PS5. I plan on just doing this game first and getting it out of the way. Dragon Quest Builders (9%) - I was playing it on the Vita, but got a little concerned about lighting issues and wasted too much time, so I deleted that off my Vita and am starting over on the PS4. Since the trophies are shared, my Vita trophies are already earned. Cat Quest (2%) - Really need to start over as this game is short and the only grind is getting to Level 99 and doing all the accessories. And with that, Wave 1 of the trophies is now live. Good luck to everyone on this event! I will add more games after this list is finished.

Popular Post ProfSeajay7
Well, I am a bit late with my first update, so here it is: SPRING BACKLOG CHALLENGE: (1) Final Fantasy V (40%) (2) Wild ARMs [PS5] (32% => 42%) (3) Dragon Quest Builders (9%) (4) Cat Quest (2% => 100% ) (5) Final Fantasy VI (0%) Yesterday, I got my first platinum in Cat Quest after buying the game again (luckily on sale) and starting the whole game over from the first cutscene and I surprised myself by managing to get the platinum in under eight hours. My next target which I am playing tonight is Wild ARMs on the PS5. I've reach the third part of the story and am slowly making my way to the endgame. I was going to save Boomerang Flash for last but that was my plan for the Platinum Rain Day challenge. However, since this is now on the list, I am not going to bother having a special screenshot for the platinum. Third on the list will be FFV, which I will have to reload and restart since I voided the platinum by accidentally missing a bestiary entry in the Barrier Tower which I saved over, so I could not go back there. The Pixel Remasters are brutal in later entries due to the missable trophies. I will also be busy restarting Dragon Quest Builders and doing in the off-times; I tried to play it on the Vita, got annoyed that night time is too dark for the Vita to handle, and deleted the Vita version and put on the PS4 version to restart the whole damn thing. (I have four trophies on it already since I got crazy and got the 3000 items destroyed and placed in Chapter 1 during the grace period where time is stopped.

Popular Post Xenoblast91
Well, I'm back... I think a lot of motivation will push me forward to finally tackle the backlog once again. Hopefully, this goes well. Please count with me! Grand Theft Auto: Andreas - 17% Apex Legends - 31% DOOM Eternal - 23% Assassin's Creed Origins - 85% Call of Duty: Black Ops III - 0% Turok - 0% Final Fantasy VII OG - 0% Many of these games are reserved for personal and general milestones. Following the hype train of FFVIIRB, after several years of hesitation and cautious analysis, the time has come to finally beat the OG version of the game. The other titles have their meaning, but I'll add them properly in the successive unfold of events while playing, LOL. 😄

I did the platinum for the PS4 version months ago, so this is the PS5 version, which is convenient as I can play it on one console and multi-task another grind on my PS4 without having to drop the first game because you can't play two PS4 games on two consoles on the same account. Already started up FFV again and logged into DQB which I restarted on my PS4 as the Vita was giving me migraines trying to play the night cycles on it. 😫

The only troubles I had were Ruby Weapon(which took forever as it took away my magic users so I had to spam Omnislash with Cloud which did jack diddly due to its max defense and I had to keep destroying the tentacles to avoid getting gang-banged and TPK'd by them, they do a lot of damage even at the level I was at) and Emerald Weapon(but that was because I didn't have Omnislash and Meteorain is jack diddly compared to it, next time I just spammed All Creation and we did fine).

It was alright but Metroidvanias aren't really my forte. I probably shouldn't have paid full price for it but at least my bf now has another game to borrow for his Metroidvania Monday streams. Popular Post viech54
Update #01 Final Fantasy IX I'm liking it a lot so far. This might end up my favorite FF from the PS1 era. Will see, though, there's still a lot to do. This game has tons of collectables, hope the guides I use don't fail me. Given all the problems with the rope jump trophies lately, I'm glad I got those out of the way early (meaning almost a year ago, that's where the 11% come from) and don't have to deal with those now. But there is still the 10k kills trophy. Good thing the game has an auto battle booster, so I don't have to do that myself and can just let the game do it on its own while I'm at work or asleep or something. I've also read bad things about the Tetramaster minigame trophy. Should be very doable, though, just need to do it occasionally while playing through the game and it should be fine. There's also a second playthrough where players need to more or less beat the game in 12 hours for a weapon that gives a trophy. This will be the last trophy before the platinum. _____________ Anyway, take care, good luck with your lists! (I had to do this because I missed a bestiary entry in a no-go-back area and saved over my old saves. ) That % on FFV won't move for a long time, at least until I get back to Barrier Tower and get those two monster entries I missed. I have been using the PSNP guide for this game so it was my own fault for missing the Variant Gigas in Barrier Tower. Oops. I've also bookmarked the PSNP guide for FFVI and will start that soon. My main concern is DQB because that's my final color entry for the first Kaledioscope event card I'm doing and the chapters should go by faster now that I have finished Caitlin. 7 hours ago, viech54 said: I'm liking it a lot so far. So, I added an additional game to my list, and the reason I didn't initially, was because it went on sale the day after the event began. The game I added is L.A Noire. I played the VR (condensed) version years ago and knew I had to play the original game at some stage. I only started it last night, but so far, so good. I finished up the Warhammer DLC in PowerWash Simulator during the weekend and I have to say - It has been my least favourite DLC. I think I am about halfway through the base career mode right now. It's a nice chill game to play on my Portal while I watch Netflix. That's it from me, just a small update this week. Hope you all have a great week 😊

Gal Guardians: Demon Purge, a spin off of the lewd shooter series Gal Gun with gameplay similar to the Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon series from the same developer (or to the classic Castlevania games). I got back into playing the game a few days before the event started and the game was so fun, that I thought about taking it of the list and get the platinum outside of the event, since I reached 33% 2 days before the event start and I just wanted to continue playing it. After finishing GG:DP I wanted more 2D goodness and jumped right into Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition. It looks, like I left the game in 2018 just before the ending of the main game, so I got all items required for 100% completion, played through the last level and got 2 of the win screens (play through it with/without 100% completion) for the main game. I think my next step will be to get the with/without 100% completion speedrun done, then do the hardcore mode and then do the same thing (minus the hardcore mode) for the 5 DLCs that are included in the Ultimate Edition and are necessary for the platinum. I also add the first Shantae to my list since that and Half-Genie Hero are the last 2 games I have to complete to finish the entire series. I try to finish it before Half-Genie Hero so I can close the series with the most difficult platinum in the series.

I got the platinum for Devil May Cry 5! Currently tackling the DLC trophies. This game provided me a very nice challenge and I can see why the platinum is ultra rare. Powerpyx even rated it a 10/10 difficulty. SImply completing the story is not a problem at all, including Hell And Hell mode. Yes, you die in just one hit, but the game gives you 3 Gold Orbs (revival items) for each mission and that's very generous. Also, the enemies are set to the Son Of Sparda difficulty (hard) instead of Dante Must Die (extreme) and that's very generous too. I'm honestly surprised that the Hell And Hell trophy is ultra rare. Dante Must Die never disappoints; it's hard as ever and I argue that it's harder than Hell And Hell. But again, simply completing is not a problem. Now the real deal: Worthy Of Legend trophy requiring S rank for all missions in all difficulties. Human (easy) and Devil Hunter (normal) were not a problem. The only difficulty is that the enemies die too quickly and I had trouble to properly increase my style rating because of that lol. But then I found out that the No Damage bonus (x2 points) guarantees the S rank, so thankfully I did not need to hold back. Son Of Sparda, how do I put it. Definitely harder than Human, but compared to Devil Hunter it was harder and easier at the same time. Harder due to stronger enemies, but easier because I could build up my style meter much more effectively thanks to the enemies being bulkier to the point I did not need the No Damage bonus and the No Continue bonus (x1.2) was all I required. Dante Must Die was the hardest. Not only the enemies are bulkier, but they are also tankier. By that I mean they are harder to stagger, especially when they activate their own power up. And they deal a lot of damage. Insane damage while powered up. Very aggressive too. I could not play as stylish as in the previous difficulties and the No Continue bonus was not enough for the S rank. I was forced to play more defensively and aim for the No Damage bonus. Perhaps checking a guide would had made things easier, but I am a Devil May Cry veteran and I was afraid that guides would only mess up my strategies and playstyles with something else that simply does not suit me. So I decided to use my own experience with the series to develop my own new strategies and refine my playstyle in my own way. Additionally, I love the game and that defintiely boosts my dedication. In short, I made tremendous progress and even ended up to play more aggressively than I thought! It felt awesome when I got all the S ranks! Hell and Hell: not as hard as Dante Must Die to S rank, but still challenging. I'll say it again: the enemies being set only to Son Of Sparda difficulty is very generous and to an extent it kills the difficilty of this mode. Getting hit once and therefore using a Gold Orb voids the No Continue bonus. Still possible to get the S rank, but much harder. I was better off to do No Damage runs again which was not so hard after conquering Dante Must Die. Very happy with my Worthy Of Legend trophy! One thing shocked me about the game: I was forced to grind in order to unlock all of characters' skills for their respective trophies. Since when grinding is a thing in a Devil May Cry game >.< I was sad at first, but thanks to the all S ranks, I already gained a very good amount of Red Orbs (currency) which helped the grinding process by a lot. In the end the grinding did not take me long and it was relaxing too! So, no complaints thankfully. Devil May Cry 5 is an awesome game and it proves why Devil May Cry in one of my favourite game series ever! Extremely happy for my platinum and I am already planning to buy the PS5 version in order to get the second platinum XD. And woah, 175th platinum! Looks like it's a milestone in this site. It might sound like a lie, but I do not plan my platinum milestones. For example, Devil May Cry 5 as 175th platinum, Persona 4 Arena 75th, Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 (PS3) 100th, Assassin's Creed Revelations (PS3) 125th and Street Fighter X Tekken even appearing twice as 40th and 150th, all very valuable platinums (at least to me), but they all just happened to be milestones lol. No planning. And oh my god, Persona 4 Arena is already from 100 platinums ago!? Time really flies. Once I complete the DLC, the first game I will play for this challenge will probably be White Day A Labyrinth Named School (PS4). Quiet a particular background. When I quit Pokèmon for good (still one of my favourite games ever, I just wanted to play other games), it was time for me to decide whether to play Playstation or PC. Since I never played PC before, I decided to give it a try. First game purchased: White Day. Installed. Computer dies and forced to buy a new one. What!? Playstation it is then lol. But instead of playing White Day I randomly played other games. Around 7 years later, here I am finally ready to play White Day XD. And this time I bought the Ultimate Horror Edition since it was on sale and therefore cheaper than the standard version. It even features costumes from Blazblue, another game series I love. So that will be interesting too. It's therapeautic writing this much. I might create my own Trophy Checklist in this forum one day. I'll see. It's also very nice to read the progress of you all, same as always!
Popular Post Buff_Cupcake
Update 1 Happy start-of-challenge everyone! reading back in the thread - there are some great updates already happening! It's really motivating to see everyone make good progress and to learn about some games I wouldn't normally pick up. As for my updates: The Monster Hunter: Iceborne grind beings in earnest Right after entering into a deep, meditative prayer state to ask RNGesus for their blessings - I started my potentially long grind to get gold miniature and giant crowns. For anyone not aware, every monster you fight in this game has a randomly generated size and sometimes it can be much larger or smaller than usual. In those cases, you get awarded a gold small or large crown. Partly why the Iceborne and World platinums are so time intensive is because you need small and gold crowns for the majority of monsters. There are some strategies and methods to increase the chances of the monster spawning at a gold crown size, but there is still a massive grind either way. I might start a crown progress tracker in my updates to keep myself sane. Up until the release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, I was grinding out hunts for an elder dragon called Velkhana and just to highlight the RNG here - after 4 hunts I got the giant gold crown for her. Then another 30 hunts later the smaller crown popped. RNG doing what it does best! The online community for this game is genuinely fantastic and the servers are really active. If you are going for this platinum too at some point, to save your sanity, I highly recommend just using the SOS flare option at the beginning of your hunt and getting a party together to speed things up. 2-4 players during a hunt is really fun and 99% of the time everyone I've grouped with has been really focused and helpful. I'm also more than happy to jump in and crown grind too, hit me up on PSN with a note in your invite request (i tend not to accept blank ones) if you like! Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth wasn't what I expected I won't mention anything spoilery at all here. I really didn't like the first couple of hours for some reason, it went in some directions I wasn't expecting. But after the game opened up, it settled with me a bit more. I started playing this after work last Friday and it completely consumed my weekend. I'm definitely enjoying it and every gameplay system so far has been polished and compelling. The pacing and storytelling isn't as cosy or tight as Remake, but I guess that is the trade-off for blowing the game out into an open hub world setting and an epic adventure. The open world traversal and activities have definitely been a highlight for me. Nothing feels disposable or transactional like some Ubisoft open worlds have tended to. There is definitely a checklist feel to it, but the required side missions, activities, exploration points and mini-games all have meaning and weight, either in reward or actual character/story plot points which add more flavour to the experience. I didn't realise how stale side content in open world games has become until playing this game and seeing the attention and detail they put in to theirs. I need to experience the complete package first, but so far I think this is really really good and possibly an early personal GOTY for me. That might change as we have a tonne more runway before the end of the year, of course, but so far i'm loving it. Until next time! Hope everyone makes some good progress and is having fun with their challenge games Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth - 0% > 41% Pacific Drive - 0% Dragon's Dogma 2 - 0% Monster Hunter World: Iceborne - 37% Dying Light 2 - 0% Dead Rising - 0%
