Popular Post RedDevil757 Posted March 25 Popular Post Share Posted March 25 The unpopular opinions thread got me thinking. If you can alter the trophy system, what would you do to it? We have easy platinums for kids and addicts but nothing really for the more serious gamer so what I'd change are the following. I'd change the way platinums work or maybe add a tier above it (diamond maybe) I dunno but either way it would work on a rarity scale. If a platinum completion rate was under like 2% it would become a diamond. The more and more people platinum the game. The rarity would pass that threshold and loose its diamond status. This would reward those players with Uber skills. I'd also find a way of showing what difficulty someone finished the game on. Maybe by changing its border colour or something. If someone is mad enough to do Doom 2016 on its hardest setting, they should have something to show for it. I could only manage the first level 😅 There should be something changed so the people that only get like a cod game a year. Still have something to show. Maybe show prestige levels on that titles trophy card. I'd bring back the old leveling system. The new one is crap and doesn't feel like a milestone anymore. I'd keep the current cap though. So players that are currently max level have something to do. Bring back the trophy popping sound from PS3 that was epic! Implement weekly/monthly leaderboards with your friends on the console. Just like Xbox does Force all games to have the same trophy score. Also force all paid DLC to include trophies. For a game like Battlefield or Cod, I'd split the trophy list in two. A single player list and a multiplayer list. Maybe not two platinums but still the days of forcing multiplayer for a platinum should be over. The last thing I'd change is something that was shown off when the ps5 was shown but for whatever reason it was never implemented. It'd be cool if earning a certain trophy would unlock a theme or avatar. Maybe emoji for chat too. If you decline the trophies then you could install them later from the options menu however the trophies would not be retroactive, though you could unlock them in a NG+ mode if it is in the game. Otherwise you would need to start over from the beginning to unlock them. Also any trophies that require being online in a single player game would be an "added" list akin to "dlc" list. Popular Post Sebulba2000 Posted March 25 Popular Post Share Posted March 25 (edited) With all those games getting server shutdowns, trophies breaking with patches (or being broken from release and never getting fixed), some features related to trophies getting turned off and discontinued or a game just not being the player's cup of tea... I would really like to see a feature that lets you delete trophies from your profile. Not just hide them and not just delete games with no progress. I don't think it would be a difficult feature to add. As mentioned in this thread, the ability to delete games with 1 or more trophies earned. j98345 Posted March 25 Share Posted March 25 I want less trophy restrictions, one example comes to mind is monster hunter and the DLC. Both have platinum trophies, sure most games don't have DLC at that length but I want to see more like this if it is warranted of course. Another example is the tomb raider remaster, I am glad Sony has done away with a trophy limit allowing us to have unlimited DLC trophies and not the part 2 trophy lists like Minecraft has but I wish it would go further, there should not be a maximum amount of trophies (points) for the main list brotato has 90 or so achievements on xbox but only 50 trophies on PlayStation. Matto_lsi Posted March 25 Share Posted March 25 I will agree with some of the people here that being able to delete a trophy list, any list, at any time, would be preferable. Deleting individual trophies within a list would open up a can of worms, and the ability to turn off trophies could cause a lot of additional headaches. But making it so trophy lists could be removed in their entirety, whether low%, completed, or in between, would solve most problems. However, the only thing I want to see is Sony actually adhere to their own TRCs. Their requirements, which were originally written for PS3, state that you cannot require any additional purchase to earn a platinum trophy in a game. That was fine for PS3, cause online was free. But the second they began charging for online play, they violated their own technical requirements. Microsoft does the same thing, but has been guilty of it since day 1 of X360. Requiring a player to spend additional money for a monthly subscription to have access to trophies in a base trophy list shouldn't be allowed. And the solution is simple, as Bioware did it with ME3 and ME:A, just make any online trophy have an alternative offline trigger. 5 gold matches online or finish the game on insanity? Same trophy. Beyondthegrave07 Posted March 25 Share Posted March 25 I want the level limit to be upped to 9999 or have the ability to rebirth at 999 and start over at level 1 again and get some sort of prestige symbol next to your name or the number of times you started over. I also think a PSN rarity level on PSN would be cool to have where common trophies wouldn't increase your level progression at all and UR trophies increase level progression more.
