Popular Post RotatingCube
#127 - Shiness The Lightning Kingdom (PS4) Shiness is an action RPG that tells the story of Chado, an anthropomorphic umm mouse? rat? squirrel? dog? who is searching for the Lands of Life but ends up in an adventure that involves the fate of the world. While the plot isn't anything groundbreaking and was clearly made for a young audience, this type of story can still be enjoyable if told well which unfortunately the game does not. Too many things were either left unexplained or explained poorly and the surprisingly terrible localization doesn't help. Gameplay is where the game fares better. Instead of your active team fighting all at once, you fight 1 vs 1 with your opponents. You and your opponents can switch characters manually or automatically when KO'ed. Inactive characters slowly heal and can cast support skills to help the active character. It's definitely unusual. Kinda like a Marvel vs Capcom game turned into an RPG. It fits with the whole martial arts aesthetic the game is going for since your physical attacks are punches and kicks rather than swords or guns. Outside of combat the game has your standard RPG sidequests some of which actually affects who your final boss will be depending on how you resolve them. Trophy-wise, this game seems to have an unusually high number of ultra rares for an offline single player game that isn't particularly difficult, long, or grindy. Beating the game without a gameover is a challenge but backups mitigate that. There are missable collectibles but nothing too egregious and there are no serious trophy glitches. Perhaps people are put off by having to play the game twice for the platinum because at its core, this is a very average game. That's how I felt about Shiness; something that's fine to play once but not much more than that.

Popular Post Ala-Arska
Axiom Verge 2 (PS4) Wielder You have shed all vestiges of your former self A sequel rarely surpasses the original. Exceptions being The Godfather: Part II and Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2. Such it is with Axiom Verge 2, a Super Metroidvania in spirit but a Game Boy Metroid in actuality. On its own, it's pretty decent. It's got exploration, lots of gadgets, big bosses (which are now optional!) and so on. But compared to the first one it's bland, ugly on the eyes, duller in combat, and lacking soul overall. I appreciated the 16-bit graphics originally, but now it's just mushy at times and sometimes painful to watch on TV screen It takes some time to get used to the map. It's a mess, like somebody threw rainbow coloured shit on a wall and drew on it with sticks. I miss using different guns and blasting aliens with them. Not swinging at them with an ice pick and a boomerang. Another nitpick is with collectables. With there being oodles of them, some check mark on a (better) map on gotten ones would have made my day. All negativity aside, it's still a metroidvania at its core. And like pizza, when it's good it's really good. But when it's bad...it's still pretty good And it's free! What's not to like about that? Do try it out. No info about the first one needed, just dive in the deep end and be warned about those murky visuals "My eyes! The goggles do nothing!"
Popular Post disaster500
#61 Ghostrunner - 11.27% I really enjoyed the movement in Titanfall 2, so when I saw gameplay of this and saw similar mechanics I knew I had to try it on PS Plus. This game plays like Titanfall 2 without the guns, you have to use your movement and abilities to get to the enemies so you can one-shot them with your sword. The problem is they are constantly shooting at you while you do this, and you die in one hit. It's a lot of fun. Dying in one hit naturally means Ghostrunner can be quite hard at times, and I agree with the trophy guide and think it's a 6/10. The trophy list is very simple though. Besides story and a few deathless challenges, most trophies are doing specific things with your abilities which can be easily done at specific parts of the game (e.g. get 3 kills with one use of Blink). Highly recommend if you like platforming, movement and the trial and error of difficult games. Edited January 13, 2023 by disaster500
Popular Post RebelsHeart
Platinum #106 - Potion Permit Rating: 7/10 If you love Stardew Valley you might enjoy this game as well. But instead of a farmer you're a Chemist curing patients. It's a cute game with a bit of story to it. But it definitely has it's flaws. It is very grindy. Which is not too bad of course, but you can't track anything. Which can be very frustrating, especially when it comes to the 'forage 1000 trees' type of trophies. Once the story is over it feels like the game loses most of it's fun factor which is kind of sad. You do have community board quests. which sadly have nothing to do with the NPCs and are just recycled quests. I could've seen myself playing this game for way longer if there was more to it. Not sure if this game has continued support, maybe (hopefully) there's more to it in the future.
Icymind25
On 10/1/2023 at 1:46 PM, Ala-Arska said: Silent Hill: Book of Memories (PS Vita) (+100%) Hyperthymesiac Earn every trophy in the game Well...it's a game, alright. Silent Hill: Book of Memories is a Silent Hill product in name only. Horror, creepiness, grotesque monsters, fog...gone like a fart in Sahara. Now it's an (almost?) endless hack 'n slash dungeon crawler, where after an hour you've seen it all. Then keep going for another 80 hours Combat is kinda awkward, dodging is laughable and insta/cheap deaths are around every corner. Therefore range weapons, especially the OP DLC weapon Princess Heart, are a way to go. Princess beats Butchers and Pyramid Heads 10/10. Loading times are abysmal to say the least. I must have watched a dozen movies during those (Police Academies are movies, right) In a weird, masochistic, way I still kinda liked the game every now and then. I'm used to worse grinding in RPGs, so getting to max lvl 70 and collecting all items was no big deal. With one exception, SH: BoM would be a semi decent recommendation for playing casually every now and then and getting everything that way. That exception is Multiplayer trophies! Getting 4 players online for a decade old Vita game is just as painful as it sounds. Eventually those trophies were tackled and aced, many thanks to patient co-players @WARLOCK1972, @Sqigley, @the_sundstrom and @Kiwicrash You can get those trophies with ad-hoc too, apparently. If you can afford 4 Vitas and 4 expensive copies of the game! Overall, avoid if you want anything Silent Hill-esque. Get it, if you have low, low expectations and are glutton for punishment Don't know if I should say "you've my sympathies" or "well done". Guess I'll go with "congratulations, you masochistic individual" Ala-Arska:

Popular Post Sora9427
Platinum Trophy N.204 - Ratchet & Clank Into The Nexus The Pride of FastoonCollect every trophy in Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus. Well, one of the First things i wanted to finally do and Play this year is R&C Rif Apart that i got months ago. But first there was one last stop before it, the Only Ratchet & Clank game i was missing, Nexus! And thanks to the PSPlus (Premium? I don't even remember if it's an extra or Premium feauture) i was able to play it and on Ps5! I have to say i'm surprised by my internet connection and the stream service, waaay better than expected, it always loaded no problem and never stopped, didn't feel much difference from the offline! Anyway as said i was missing only this Chapter from the last Ps3 "Trilogy" and it was about time to fix that. I expected it to be short, since both All 4 one and even more Q-force were indeed short ones, still i'm surprised i finished all the story in 2 days last weekend, even if i actually played 6-8 hours so not SUPER short, i'm just not used to ending a game in such time anymore The Story was pretty interesting, as said, a short and fast one but still nice to enjoy, same with the worlds, only 5 of them with 1 being an arena, still all of them Pretty nice, less the Swamp one but i never like swamps in any game anyway. The Gameplay is, obviously, the main part of the game and it's fun as always, the weapons weren't as Amazing as previous games, still there are some nice ones and Thankfully it wasn't TOO much of a pain to upgrade them all. The Plat is, of course, really easy, just gotta enjoy the game once remembering to use the "scary" weapon against every type of enemy and boss, not an hard task to remember, plus it's the best weapon in the game probably with how much passive damage and distraction it offers you wanna use it 90% of the time anyway. Aside from that, usual stuff collecting everything which with only 5 planets it results being super easy and fast and then buying and upgrading all weapons and Armor. Thankfully there is a good grind method for farming Bolts so buying everything is not that much time consuming, upgrading weapons, same it's more boring than anything since you have to repeat the Final Arena unless you wanna start a 3rd playthorugh which i kindly pass. Overall i ahve to say i had a good time, i'm not used to complete games this fast but it's one thing i wanna do this year, working on some fast 10-20 hours titles i have since i have many and could clear out the backlog. This was also my First PS3 Platinum since GoW back in 2019 so 3 Years ago, Wow O.o I definitively liked the Streaming Via Ps5 thing so i'll play other titles with that for sure in the future! I would like them to add more titles every month there not only PS1/PSP ones. I don't have a Screenshot sadly since it doesn't let you take them, it's literally like playing on Ps3, i could have taken a Photo but i forgot, oh well. Next is R&C Rift Apart Finally! Really curous about it since i've heard great things and it looks amazing! The plat there seems like it's basically gifted to you, i see it doesn't even ask for the 100% with stuff like the Gold Bolts not need for any trophies, oh well guess more time to enjoy the story! Anyway my latest Plat was Adventure Time: Pirates Of The Enchiridion. It was actually kind of fun. I did it because it was in my backlog at a very low completion % when I saw it was available on PS+ for free again. Currently working on finishing Cuphead. I need two main game trophies then the DLC. Please do! Do play it, and enjoy it. And in general, don't let my rant stop anyone to give it a try. I'm sure I was a minority - I hope - so by all means, give it a shot! One person's trash could be someone else's treasure. Also congrats on your plat! Edited January 13, 2023 by Darghel

Popular Post Biscoito18
#149 - Axiom Verge 2 Wielder Platinum in 6 days, 4 hours Rarity: 10.79% (Rare) Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 Metroidvania games are not my style but I got a little obsessed with this game. It's basically pure exploration and has so many fun secret areas that even being completely lost for hours, I refused to look at a guide. The pleasure of finally discovering a new path was greater than the pleasure of unlocking a new trophy. #150 - The Callisto Protocol It's over, Jacob! Platinum in 1 week, 4 days Rarity: 35.86% (Uncommon) Difficulty: 5/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 This was my most anticipated game of 2022. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed, but the more I played the more I understood and appreciated the developers' vision. It's simply an ultra-violent brawler with an extremely oppressive atmosphere and an addictive new style of melee combat with dodging. Easy to execute, instinctive and that, at the same time, demands your complete attention because a single mistake could mean death. I hope that the mixed reviews don't affect sales too much and that in the future we can play a TCP 2 or, who knows, a Ganymede Protocol or Io Protocol. Popular Post Jermster_91
#115 God of War Ragnarök I finally got the platinum for this game. I would have gotten it a week earlier but King Hrólf was a pain for me to beat even on the easiest difficulty. As for the game, I love this game a lot more than 2018's God of War. I don't know why but I felt I was more invested in the story than the first one. I loved the father and son moments that this game had to offer. After playing this, I might go back and try to platinum 2018's God of War but I might not. We shall see.

Popular Post OakfieldPark
#49 Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey Great survival game and bonus points for it being educational. At the risk of sounding like a bad Micheal Scott joke I truly didn't expect it to be so big - this game is vast. Whenever a game gives me a left hand and a right hand to co-ordinate it's a learning curve to master but so worth it (looking at you Bioshock) and by the end of it it becomes second nature. Also, one of those rare games I ran into zero bugs or glitches and considering its size and what it offers that really is quite the feat. For negatives, my only real gripe is that you don't ever get to play as a caveman. You spend the whole time working towards evolving to become an upright homosapien but when you finally get there you only see it in a cutscene. I realize there's probably issues regarding rules against playing as a historically accurate, naked, early upright human but the entire game you spend seeing if you can beat the timeline and lineage of the evolution of hominids and you really become invested in getting your tribe walking, communicating, digesting, mating and using tools onwards to the inevitable end goal of becoming human, noticing changes like losing body hair and seeing the whites in the eyes form, only to never actually walk it. Besides that it's awesome, I even love the design of the plat, I noticed it resembles the two in-game timelines of your progress compared to science. If you dig new takes on survival games this one is a great pick although I would recommend keeping a tab open of the map as it really is massive.

Popular Post MikkelEhlers
#122 - Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII - Reunion My Living Legacy Acquired all trophies I've only relatively recently gotten into Final Fantasy through FFX. I've played FFX, FFX-2, A small amount of FFXIV and FF7 Remake. I loved the remake, and I'm glad I haven't played the original so I'm experiencing it in a whole other way - also glad that I only know of the one spoiler that probably everyone knows, but not anything else, so there are many surprises, which I didn't anticipate. So when Crisis Core came out, I got It almost at release. I really liked this one, because it was a bit more action-oriented. I really liked the strategising in FF7 remake, but the pace of Crisis Core fits me more. It's definitely one of the better games I played, even though the DMW missions are pretty repetitive, I really liked them as a break from the real game. You could just play these side missions and relax when you didn't really feel like progressing the story. In terms of the platinum trophy. I really do dislike when games have this many missables. There are so much in the game that is missable, and no chapter select just makes it horrible. So I made a lot of Backup saves and then I followed a rough spoiler free guide, that wouldn't lessen my experience. Like mostly checklist based for "you must have found or done these things or you have missed out on them completely" I really liked the Roulette gameplay system, the way that it is random, but also not fully random - like there are some hidden mechanics that makes the roulette feel good instead of it just being there and being pure luck it actually becomes a great mechanic. However the trophy for unlocking all character scenes is just awful. You can't do anything except just wait and push your luck with some items. And it locks one of the best items. I'd much rather do something difficult, there's nothing worse than a tedious task that you're not in control of. At least when it feels this random. I do like grinding in general in a lot of games, but this was more like waiting and hoping you win the lottery. All in all mixed feelings, but I'm so glad I played it. I like the story, and I really like the gameplay and for that is the most important, I just wish the grindy trophies would use it instead of just making you sit there.

Popular Post Thrillhelm
#2758 It Takes Two (Both versions via save transfer) One of the best games in the last couple of years and also one of the best if not the best co-op games, It Takes Two was a great journey from start to finish, with an awesome variety of levels and gaming mechanics, the latter with more than one nod to other games, such as the Ratchet & Clank series. While the story takes a little bit too long and has its inconsistencies (emotional rollercoaster like some Pixar Films), there are so many great moments that its not getting boring. It is meant to be played with a friend, communication is the key. The only minor trouble you can have is the Helltower trophy which demands some platforming skills, but its still doable. I highly recommend this game. 3/10 Platinum difficulty. 10/10 fun.
