Popular Post TheYuriG
Beware: this thread might contain harsh language, don't get offended. First off, I would like to thank ihadalifeb4this for recommending me this game. Without it, this thread would never exist in the first place. Secondly, .org's guide is shit, one of the least helpful guides I've ever used (and I've used BattleFantasia's and Max Payne 3's). While I could write a guide myself, that would need to cover all trophies and I'm only meaning to cover a few, mostly the online part. The online on this game does not require you to play with people at the same time they are online. If you ever played or boosted Hitman Absolution's or Motorstorm RC's online, you should have an idea of what I'm saying. Is incredibly easy to boost this game if you want to, but for such, use the Gaming Sessions. Do NOT post below for help.Overview: There are 3 game modes here: World Tour which is pure solo campaign, Explore which should be like an arcade mode that you set ghosts and highscores (half solo, half online) and Global Events which is the online. Try playing Global Events as soon as possible (you need an online pass and the digital version comes with it bundled) so you can rack some easy credits to buy gear. I find the survival -no gear- -no rewind- events to be the easiest to get highscores and cash from. I get absolutely DESTROYED on races and I do fairly well on Trick It!. You need to get* 10 diamonds (first skill places), 10 platinums (second skill places), 10 golds (third skill places) and 10 silvers (fourth skill places). This is the easy way to explain it, you will understand better as you play it. I highly recommend getting the diamonds through self boosting: set a 10 minutes long friends-only event and win it yourself. You can boost platinums too by using an alternate account and joining your event, beating the score of your own main account. I didn't need to do this myself, but there is that option in case you don't have this badge after obtaining all others. You should get all the golds and silvers through legitimate play when going for the rest of the badges (50 races, 50 trick it, 50 survivals and 50 customs). *to get credits from these events toward the badges, they should be completed while you are offline from RiderNet. I'm quite sure you can go offline 15 seconds before the timer runs out and keep playing if you wish, but you gotta boot the game again to get the 'while you were away' screen and the credits toward the badges. Being away or not, you get the cash regardless when the event ends and you reconnect.Explore (Online/Ghosts): Explore is probably going to be what you are going to be looking out the most for boosting and where you are going to struggle the most because of the gold requirements, since you need to beat a ghost in every range (only 1 in each of the 9 countries), beat any 50 friend ghosts, withstanding 50 friends challenges and getting cash from ghosts. It's HIGHLY recommended that you add as much people as possible so you can have as little effort toward these as possible. Withstanding challenges should be the most problematic one as you are more than likely needing to boost that one. Wishtanding challenges means that someone played a drop with a score lower than you, your name showed up as the stage loaded with your score and the reward for beating it, but the person was either too bad to beat it or did so on purpose. If your name don't show up at the beginning, your progress won't be the one progressing if your friend fail it. Rivals are the closest scoring friend of the played in that drop. Extremely high scores makes withstanding challenges harder and Survival in Patagonia/Antarctica/New Zealand are the best ranges to boost this, you can kill yourself as soon as you start either falling to your death or getting cold in the shade to progress your friend's badge. No need to go back to map either, using the restart button on the end run screen suffices. For the 2 ones I've bolded, fear not because I got you covered. I've done 60 ghosts on my alternate accounts for you folks to beat. But why? Because I hated the need to add people for this and the better they are, the harder this becomes (SO DO THESE BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE, SPECIALLY STARTING THE EXPLORE MODE!). My accounts names are YuriAlt1, AltYuri2 and AltYuri3(I've lost access to these accounts, gotta do new accounts again for this. If anyone wants to replicate my work and be avaiable to make them for me, let me know and i'll put the account names and credits here). Add them as friends before starting playing through Explore. Do NOT add my main account at any circustance. This is passive help and I'm NOT going to download the game again to help anyone. You are free and recommended to message my main account to ask to be accepted on the alternate accounts though, as I don't log into them unless I'm testing a game before starting it on my main. Why do I have 3 accounts? Shift 2, self boosting king of the hill with only 2 people. Why the accounts don't follow a pattern like YuriAlt(number) or AltYuri(number)? Because whoever was the retarded person to make them had either: A- weak memory and forgot the pattern halfway through; B- was high on drugs; C- was drunk; D- was intending to piss OCD people that might link them together one day; E- All of the previous. Small NABQ (Never Asked Before Questions): 1- Yuri, I like you a lot, I want to add your main account. That wasn't a question and unless you are taking part of the same Gaming Session that I'm in, you shouldn't add me. Like ever. I don't like people, I'm truly an yeti. 2- I just started out the game. Can I add those accounts already and complete those badges right off the bat? As long as you have beated the air tutorial and the first tutorial stage, yes. Those are required to unlock Explore mode, where my ghosts are at. 3- Wow, this game is hard. Do you think I can beat your ghosts even though I suck more on this game than red light people suck at nighttime? Yes, I made my ghosts easy enough for anyone being able to beat them. They require no skill what-so-ever to be beaten. 4- Yuri, I'm afraid you do not understand how bad I'm in this game. I was born blind with 20% of brain size, without both hands and I play with my belly. Can I still beat your ghosts? Yeah, I have you covered even you are the worst member in gaming from the whole universe. For a matter of comparison, I let my main account afk the courses and it had more than 3x more distance than my ghosts. The only thing that would need you to have skill would be attempting to do WORSE than my ghosts, but what would you achieve with that, right? 5- I don't like races and neither Trick it!, they are hard to get to the bottom, can you still help me? Yes, all my ghosts are located in survival. 6- Where are your ghosts located? I can't find them. I've set a ghost in every Deadly Descent's Survival Course (there is one in every range, it's always the highest mountain in every country) and extra ghosts on the mid-bottom part of the globe (+ Himalayas). I'm not mentioning the obvious location of ghosts in every Deadly Descent, but you can find the rest of my ghosts at: (ex: Country/Range - Peak Name - Drop1 name; Drop2 name; Drop3 name)Himalayas - Chomo Lonzo - The Monster; Fall From GraceAfrica - Mawenzi - Hush; IncomingPatagonia - Cerro Torre - Code Blue; Vengeance; Last CallNew Zealand - Mount Tasman - Thunderbird; Jack-KnifeAntactica - Mount Craddock - Headshot; Root Down 6.1 - I'm really retarded and I can't use a fucking map. Is there any other way I can find where else I need to beat your ghosts at? You can press select, go to rivals/friends, choose one of the alternate accounts you have added, press X to open and select a drop to challenge the score. Once you have beaten a challenge, it will disappear forever. This means that whatever you see remaining to be challenged, can still be beaten to progress the badge. 7- That's so nice of you, can I repay you somehow for this help? No. Pay it forward to someone else if you feel like it, donate to charity, adopt a puppy, feed a homeless. go practice good deeds, charity-help someone else with other game, whatever works best for you. 8- YOUR GHOSTS ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO BEAT, YOU ARE SUCH A TROLL, HOPE YOU DIE IN A FIRE WITH YOUR FAMILY WATCHING AND AELA'S GOLDFISH GETS SO FAT THAT IT BLOWS UP. Let me show you the miracles of the Ignore List on PSNP and the block list on PSN. Explore (Medals): This should be the only challenging part of the game and therefore I recommend leaving it for last (or at least while you do the online part). You need to get a golden medal in every drop in every peak for any single Range/Country. I did Antarctica myself but I would highly recommend against that because of Long Horn, which is madly bullshit level that just doesn't make any sense at all. Apart from that single drop (Trick and Race), every other drop was terribly easy to complete with a golden medal. Having friends with ghosts can help in this regard, but I found that staying a little back and following the Gold ghost for a round or two, and then replaying it using the required mods was the best tactic. You don't need to do this for Trick It! since that's more based on combo than routes. How to play SSX like a professional? I'm not going to mention the 'hold a direction and press X to fly super fast in that direction' tip because that's difficult to perform constantly (lies, I'm just bad with it), but you can learn it watching the loading screens 'pro tips' which are nothing in comparison to these: Use high level characters. I've beaten pretty much every Antarctica drop with a level 10 Moby, swapping the board for speed in races or survival while using the tricks board for Trick It! Having a Rare or better board is highly recommneded, you can hoard the cash from Global Events if you need. Never stop boosting. If you are going slow, you are going wrong. Get into Tricky as soon as possible and carry it all the way through the level, this will ensure you most of the points you need for the Trick It! events and all the speed you need for races. It's pointless to rewind if you are trying a highscore and crashed, your combo breaks and you lose the 'cash in' bonus you would get for delivering. Avoid crashing and avoid rewinding (except for Survival). Holding + OR + while on ground will keep your combo going, just like doing a manual in a skating game. Holding isn't required, but is recommended as going too slow will cash in your combo and reduce your multiplier. Rails are godlike when well used. Most rails will derail (funny, huh?) you from the race course, but they are easy to use and boost through. On Trick It! they should be used to stack as many grinds as possible to increase your multiplier. After you get 20x, you are free to merely grind 1 trick for the whole rail. Always grind a rail while spinning to one direction. You can also grind stuff like trees and ridges if you hold next to them. is godlike inside the Afrika's volcanos! Use Mods on every medal attempt (except for Survival). I used 1 tricks and 1 speed for Trick It! and 1 speed and 1 boost for Races. Never used mods for Survival, but you can use a Rewind Mod if you don't feel secure of your run. I don't think 2 mods of the same stack, but feel free to try it and prove me wrong. At character level 10 you can have 2 equipments and 2 mods (+2 Geotags) while at character level 11 you can have 3 of each. Grinding that extra level isn't useful nor worth the time, but you can do it if you want. Don't rewind! People who use rewind stink! Most of the courses can be completed in 3 minutes tops, keep playing until the end while attempting to one-shot the course or press start and restart the drop. Rewinding reduces your score in Trick It! and makes you lose time in Races. Rewinding is bad! You are free to rewind all your 3 uses in Survival though. In this case, Rewinding is good. Always have a Wingsuit equipped! This is a life-saver in Survive events, mostly the ones that requires armor as you can simply fly over all the hazards. Choose the range you feel most comfortable with! Most people prefer Alaska because it's easier (as people say). I found all but 1 course in Patagonia and Antactica to be ridiculous. That being said, choose the Range you like the most, it's probably the one that will give you less trouble to complete. I liked Antarctica and, except for Long Horn, I absolutely DESTROYED every drop, even the Deadly Descent within 20 minutes each attempt. Also, I hated Alaska and the camera angle, I hated having a good run being wrecked because you barely touched the ground and fell off your board into some rocks to meet your doom. Quality is better than quantity! Doing one long trick with as many spins and flips as possible nets you insane score. Making a lot of tricks in quick succession don't earn you nearly as many points. Also, doing one level-long combo is much better than many smaller combos. WIth a high multiplier. cashing in a long combo doubles your score! Don't repeat tricks! Learn a pattern of tricks succession you are going to use and stick to that, but avoid using the same tricks over and over, that gives you less points. I did then then then then then then then . Always use to tweak your tricks and get more points. The combo pattern you use is up to your preference though. Know which kind of path you want to take! Flat paths are better for races since you just want to boost through as fast as possible, bumpy paths are better for trick it! because you get more chances to perfom tricks. If the bumpy road is your only option in a race, try wallriding a wall with boost. I prefered the flat path for Survival too, but it's understandable if you choose a bumpy one to use the Wingsuit as many times as possible. Geotags placing and leveling: I found the easiest to place Geotags (for expiring) on the first hole in New Zealand - Aoraki (Deadly Descent) and jumping right to your death as soon as it starts, rewinding just a little when you reach the bottom and releasing the button right after you place the Geotag (so you fail). It seems that placing more than 4 geotags in the same location glitches them and they don't show up for the other players. Place 4 cheap tags as soon as you start and fall to your death, then equip more expensive ones and place them at the same location, they are likely to glitch and never be picked up earning you maximum cash the following day. This is good for leveling up your characters too (since you need all of them at least level 6 anyway), buy shitloads of Geotags with your highest level character and equip them on the character you want to level up (beware if you are playing Global Events, they give more exp but some have level restrictions and you might not be able to equip the Geotag you want). You shouldn't need to grind exp with any character at all after beating their ranges, getting a bronze medal in Explore for each game mode with each character and completing the 'Beat Griff' badges. In case you do, Global Events are the way to go. About grinding 200: getting geotags from other players DO COUNT toward the total 200, so try grabbing all tags you see, Wingsuit is your friend. While you can theorically boost this, i highly recommend against it since it's a waste of time. I recommend both stacking this grind with the Peak-A-Boo (compete in every peak in Global Events) + GE races grind or simply playing Alps - Grand Goliath - Sentinel, since there are a lot of easy Geotags on that map. Geotags don't respawn, but they change their locations if you back out to the globe and load the stage again. Global Events and Peak-A-Boo: I highly recommend starting the Global Events (multiplayer) by playing a legit (NOT CUSTOM!) drop in every peak at every range. This trophy DOES NOT count Custom games, there gotta be a legit of each. Simply starting the event and leaving suffices, there is no need to finish it. Since some drops won't have a free event to play, I highly recommend spreading out this trophy over the days, while keeping track of it yourself. Lhose, in the Alps, where you beat Griff in story mode also counts toward this (was my last drop). While you can stack this with the Around The World trophy, I find that quite pointless as you can already do such with the method below. For the rest of the badges you need to compete (keyword here) in at least 50 events of each type (excluding 1-2-3 GO!). Unless you are dyslexic like me, you should have noticed that you don't need to complete the events, simply starting them is enough, what means that you don't actually have to complete a single event after you got all the GE credits you need (should come naturally through legit play). Easy and fast boosting for those badges is setting a 10 minutes custom event with the type you need and backing out as soon as you get the character select screen. In custom games created by yourself, reaching the character screen is enough for progressing the badges. Custom games from anyone else or legit generated events requires loading the level (quitting as soon as you are in the chopper is okay) to progress the badge. In case you choose to avoid playing online legit after you got all the bracket finishes you need, I recommend spreading this grind out with the rest using the custom events method. Beat Griff and Around the World: For last, you should smartly stack the all the World Tour badges for beating Griff in X range with 6 different characters with the Around The World trophy. You are forced to use every character once since they are all locked to a certain range and Zoe is used in every range to race the characters, so ignore her as she has already flew with every pilot by the time you reach the 7th range. I'm expecting that you have beaten Griff every time you have been asked to in story mode so you should only need to beat him 5 more times in each required range for all the badges. If you want a flawless method that you can do with total and pure blind faith, follow the list below. You can also do this on your own keeping track yourself, it's up to you. Bolded names are default wins. If you never won against him in one of these locations by the time you beaten World Tour is because you lost so many times that the game asked if you wanted to skip it and you said yes. I was offered that in 3 locations, but never accepted. Check your badges before starting, I don't want the "badge is glitched pls help 5/6, this game sucks, fuck EA" bullshit. Himalayas - Kaori, Zoe, Mac, Elise, Ty, Tane, Moby. Africa - Mac, (+5) Rockies - Zoe, Kaori, Tane, Alex, Ty, Tane. Patagonia - Elise, Moby (+4) Alps - Tane, (+5) Antarctica - Moby, Kaori, Tane, Alex, Mac, Elise. Around The World should pop when you play with the last character of this list if you didn't fly them before. The (+4) or (+5) means you need to beat Griff a certain number of times more, but you can play with whatever characters you want, as long as you don't repeat characters in the same course. Gotta be 6 unique characters in each course. I recommend always using Elise and whatever other characters you bought a Wingsuit for, they can really give you an edge.No gear and no rewind Deadly Descents: I (personal opinion) found all of these easy to do, except for Whiteout (New Zealand) no rewind and Cold (Antarctica) no Solar Panel runs. Practice leads to perfection in the former and heavy repetition of trial and error will eventually give you a victory on the latter. I HIGHLY recommend using a Wingsuit in every Deadly Descent that doesn't deny using it (Patagonia does restrict its use). I don't suggest stacking both runs, except maybe for the armor runs (Alaska, Alps? and Rockies) since they are BY FAR the easiest ones of the bunch. Play every Deadly Descent slowly, constantly push the left analog back to slow down. Going fast is pointless and gives more room to error. Mild exception for Patagonia as speed is required for a good Wingsuit fly.Survival Badges: These are absurdly easy if you know where to attempt them. While many places can be flawlessly won in a row with enough practice, I've survived 5 runs in a row in my first attempt of Siberia - Kara-Oiuk - Critical Mass. Hug the right wall as much as possible and always de accelerate pushing down the left analog stick, you want to have your speed under control at all times. Slightly after the "183 meters left" popup, there will be a dark colored slope at the right wall, push the left analog stick forward to climb it. When you see the chopper at the end, i recommend boost-cross to the left side over the slope. Staying at the right side in the end can lead to a painful and unexpected death hidden by the slope.Knocking Down Riders: Chances are that after completing everything else, you still won't have this done. You can easily grind this in Patagonia - Cerro Torre - Code Blue in World Tour (only place with AI riders for the badge). Start pressing left and then holding up to speed up, you will get the timing eventually. As soon as you hit the edge of the drop, press start and restart drop. Rinse and repeat as necessary. Grinding medals: SSX has one of the most retarded counters I've ever seen in gaming because of the rewind function. Rewinding don't restore your stats to whatever you rewinded to, it adds up instead. This is really useful to get the 100/140 badges, just get into a slope where you can reach those speeds and boost down. When you reach the bottom, rewind to the top and let go again boosting once more. As long as you never fall below the required speed, it will keep counting toward the badges and eventually they will pop. This also worked for the 3 minutes in Tricky badge. The time you spend in rewind don't count in your favor, only the time you spend 'playing' with control over your character. I had to grind over 27 minutes of Wingsuit (consider Patagonia for golden medals if you don't like grinding) and it took me about one hour rewinding and using the Wingsuit to finish it. Use Wingsuit as much as you can to shorten this grind. I had every other medal through legitimate play while doing the rest of the content. Trophy-wise useless shit: The last two badge categories are useless, don't bother with them. One of them is called Drop Bonus and the other is about spinning and chopper tricks. You can use the rewind grind method to get those if you want, but I wouldn't recommend. I did because OCD forced me to get all 100%. Don't judge me. ShadeRyderGold
Thanks for this Yuri. It's inspired me to pick this up again, knowing that someone else was having the troubles I had but was still able to platinum it is encouraging. EDIT: Just got the platinum. Following these tips it wasn't too bad. Used the Alps to get all golds in explore but wouldn't recommend as two drops are horrible. The only medals I had to grind were 200 snowflakes/tags and wingsuit time, rest were quite easy really especially with a level 11 Zoe. Thanks for the tips, too! They will do wonders for anyone who'll start the game anew! They are meant to be used by people who didn't touch Explore yet, reason why I bold and highly emphatize that it should be the primary focus. All the rest can be chipped away as the person's own time and pace. I see you have all the 'full bronze' and 'one gold' explore trophies. Hopefully most of my ghosts can still be useful for you regardless, as you already have quite some progress into Explore by now.

TheYuriG
Thanks Yuri. I downloaded this game from PS Plus and haven't yet played it. I'm glad I haven't yet now You are welcome. Find a partner for withstanding records and you should be pretty much homefree from the boosting. SSX credits and the online brackets shouldn't pose too much of a problem to you, but you might want to consider tackling that too and boosting the Diamond/Platinum wins with your partner. Shouldn't take you both more than an hour and a couple PSN messages, just remember to go offline before the event ends and you should be good when you boot the game again.
