Popular Post smellslikejavier
http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2016/07/20/system-shock-ps4-confirmed-for-early-2018-release It looks like the talks with Sony went well, as Nightdive Studios announced today that their System Shock remake is coming to PlayStation 4 “around Q1 2018.” Saying the PS4 version is happening partly due to the “overwhelming demand” from fans, Project Director Jason Fader talked about bringing System Shock to PS4:When we launched this Kickstarter, supporting PS4 was a possibility, but we hadn’t started talking to Sony just yet about it. We were all focused on wrapping the demo up and prepping the Kickstarter. We already had strong contacts at Microsoft from prior projects, so supporting XboxOne was less of an unknown. After we saw the overwhelming demand for PS4, we reshuffled our priorities and focused on talking to Sony about making that happen. After a few weeks and lotttts of emails, we are officially on track for bringing System Shock to the PS4! No stretch goal for it. We’re adding it in as a thank you to our backers that put their faith in us.Fader acknowledges that supporting another platform “will cost us more time/money since ensuring a game functions smoothly and relatively bug-free is different from platform to platform,” but the more money they’re able to raise, “the better the game will be.”The Kickstarter campaign ends next week and is currently sitting at $1.07 million (the original goal was $900,000). If it reaches $1.7 million, Nightdive will add the following:Enemy limb dismemberment, More puzzles, Ammo types/weapon settings, Vending machines, Basic components/research, RPG progression, Weapon upgrading, Hardcore mode (No respawning), Ironman mode (Only 1 savegame. If you die, the save is deleted).According to the Kickstarter page, System Shock is still scheduled for a December 2017 release on PC and Xbox One.

Undead Wolf
2018? Not long to wait then... I'm glad to hear it's coming though. I never played the original, but I know how influential it was, inspiring games like BioShock. I hope the remake turns out to be good. I don't care about any of that "console gamer" nonsense. I'm a gamer. Period. If it's good, I might even buy the console version later down the road, wouldn't be the first time I bought a game I like on multiple platforms. ziggypossum
Quote System Shock remake video shows misty halls and cavernous factories The preview video is entirely final art from the game. After its brief hiatus last year, the System Shock remake is back in full swing. In the past months developers have shown off lots of environmental and enemy art in updates on the Kickstarter page, culminating in a preview of these new textures and environment models. Compared to last year’s alpha preview these look much improved. https://www.pcgamer.com/system-shock-remake-video-shows-misty-halls-and-cavernous-factories/ Speaking at the Game Developers Conference in March 2018, Kick and Kuperman explained that because of the feature creep, a newly assembled team had restarted the game's development, staying focused on the promises of what they would deliver during the Kickstarter, and that they are now looking towards a 2020 release for the title. RadiantFlamberge
Not something I had wanted to hear. ? I had really hoped for Starbreeze to stay in on SS3. This on top of the SS remake being delayed til 2020... ugh. May OtherSide find a publisher soon. Then again I've heard about Starbreeze not doing so hot lately. They've filed for administration. StraightVege
But seriously, give me a new System Shock game already. The remake seems to be shaping up pretty well (albeit slowly), but SS3's development has been a total mess, from what I've read.
ziggypossum
Quote PC pre-orders will open near the end of February on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Game Store. This will be accompanied by the release of our final demo which will include the medical level, cyberspace level, full dismemberment, all newly recorded voice lines, and a ton of additional features and polish. We will still improve on the experience as we get closer to launch so please check it out and share your feedback with us on Discord. The feedback we’ve received for the previous demos has been invaluable to us and we greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. Console versions of the demo will come later. Well, that's great
