Popular Post MarkusT1992
Game #9: Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition (Day 1+2) The first thing I want to say is that I don't understand why the Definitive Edition of this game is banned in Germany. I mean even games like Doom or Mortal Kombat x aren't banned. To play this game I bought the Austrian version of this game. It's nice that the PS4 isn't region locked. I'ts my only imported game by the way. So but what is this game and why got it (probably) banned in Germany? First the game is like GTA set in Hong Kong. Contrary to the GTA series you don't play a criminal but a police officer called Wei Shen, on undercover mission. Your job it to infiltarte the Triads to arrest them. So basically you play like a criminal but for a good cause. This game has lots to offer. Obvously there are the main mission for the Triads to advance the story and infiltrate even deeper, then there are cases you have to solve for the police. These cases are more part missions which require to identify someone and lead to the arrest of that person. My current case has me got in the racing scene. Beneath the two main mission typs you can do little favours for people around the city, help the police in small cases like beating all goons in an ally or other small missions. There are the races you unlock once the first part of the second big police case is done, there are martial arts clubs you can fight, cockfights, karaoke and more. I "sang" three songs in karaoke so far and got very good ratings. the songs are real ons you probably know like "All out of Love" from "Air Supply" You can earn meddals in bronze, silver and gold for various task in the game like counter attacks, killed enemies but also for non combat tasks. In most of them @BillyHorrible is in lead. Why has it always to be you in my games. First Morror's Edge and now this one. The combat in this game is focused on melee fights. There are weapons in the game but I didn't get one so far. In a fight you can hit light with and heavy with holding . Holding after different amount of light hits will performe different kinds of heavy hits. With you can counter enemy attacks ehen they are bordered red With you can grab the enemies. Whil holding one you can hit them, throw them with or kill them with red bordered environmental objects. And that's probably why this game is banned in Germany. These kills are very violent partially. Somehow the USK thought this is to much for us Germans Somehow I have troubles with the combat in this game. I played this game on the 360 and I feel it it's much harder in the Definitive Edition than it was in the normal version. There's probablymch more I wanted to write but I forgot it so it wasn't important. Trophies: 11/60 Completion: 12% (16% main game) Time played: 5h 06min.
Popular Post Alpsmile05
Game 9, Day 2: Manual Samuel Time played: 5-6 hours? I've beaten the final boss in my solo playthrough now, the bossfight is actually kinda hard to do and I think I'll have to replay a coopgame just giving 1 action to a second controller because I can't see us finishing the bossfight with the way we attributed the bodyparts now. Ah well, it's not a problem seeing a playthrough doesn't take long, in about 2 hours max you've played through the game. I also got some trophy clean up done (not all, I was too tired last night) and so I'm at 20 trophies out off 28. I probably won't make it all the way to the platinum today but I guess that after the event I won't have much left to do in this game.
Oobedoob S Benubi
I didn't get to This War Of Mine yesterday. Started on INSIDE on Saturday night with my brother in law thinking along, we loved it so much that it took most of Sunday to get through the rest and we wanted to find the secrets as well without looking at guides. I'll try to get some more done in This War Of Mine today, but I played for three hours on day one already and I think I've played enough to know it'll end up with a rating from me. It really is just a very depressing version of The Sims, but it's a good one. @PerryToxteth, @Pickle2907, @wtru9, what are your opinions on This War Of Mine?
Popular Post wtru9
Game #9 - This War of Mine: The Little Ones Day #1+2 Playtime: About 1 hour Unfortunately I haven't had much time to play this game thus far, which is unfortunate because I definitely feel like I need a little more time to form a solid opinion on this one. The game does an excellent job at portraying the desolate and destroyed people and their surroundings. When you boot up the game the only word on the main menu is "survive", which I found to be particularly powerful in mirroring the fact that the characters in the game have no other aspirations or even options other than to just survive. There isn't a tutorial or anything, the game just throws you straight into it, which again I like because it reflects that the characters themselves have also just been thrown in, and have to make their own blueprints for survival. There's a strong human element at play here in This War of Mine. The characters of your safe house all have a brief bio outlining who they were before the civil war had started, and have all come together out of circumstance rather than any emotional or family connection... any connection to their own individuals families had been severed long ago due the civil war. Everything is just so dire, and when I'm playing there's a constant fear that it could all be for nought, as resources are scarce and sleep is hard to come by as is, even without living in fear of being raided during the night, or being attacked and even overwhelmed by enemies whilst scavenging. The game sure does a good job at making sure you never feel like you're winning.
Popular Post Jaguargenie
Game #9 Initial Impressions Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag Trophies: 3/61 (3%) Completion: 73.19% (-1.94%) Everything i am saying comes after pkaying about two hours with the game, so things might change. I haven't played an AC game in years. Right now, this is looking like it might be the best game of my KYC! It is so much more fun than any AC game I have played before. They take out the heavy handed 'assassin on a mission to save the world from the evil templars' and change it to 'you're a frickin pirate go do pirate stuff!' Damn it's fun. OK I'm done gushing. Let's talk about the game. It's an assassin's creed game through and through. The parkour feels the same but it's in bright colonial carribean. You can scale trees as well as buildings, but the stickiness of the previous titles is still there for better or worse. I feel like the combat has been cleaned up a bit from previous additions. It isn't so infuriating anymore to counter an incoming attack. They seem to have arkham-ised the combat a bit. Which is good. My favorite part is the setting. No just because I personally love the carribean, but because it's so bright and beautiful. This takes place on colonial islands that are bright, beatuful and full of jungles. Exploring is fun because it's not all dirty, grimy bland European city. I've only got two critiques thus far. The facial animations during cut scenes are atrocious. They are dead from the nose up with no emotions and the lip syncing is pretty bad. The voice acting is good so it makes up for it somewhat. The only other is the multiplayer. I typically don't like multiplayer and this one is huge. Plat is gonna be tough. I'm so looking to dump a few more hours into this tonight. Can't wait. Unless this goes toes up, expect a similarly glowing review.
Popular Post Myu
Day 27 Final Review : Fairy Fencer f Trophies : 3/29 (4%) Time played : 3 hours Completion : 84.05% (4.94% since the beginning of the event) A long time ago, there was this battle between the Vile God and the Goddess. The Vile God wanted to destroy everything and the Goddess wanted to protect the world. They ended up sealing each other by thrusting numerous swords into each other's body and eventually fell into an eternal sleep. This is the story of a lazy guy, Fang, whose sole purpose is to eat and sleep all day. One day, Fang stumbles upon a sword stuck in a big rock. Some random guy tells me that the sword will grant a wish to whoever will be able to pull it out. While Fang wants to wish for unlimited food, he manages to get the sword out King Arthur-style and is rewarded with Eryn : the fairy inhabiting the sword. And that's how Fang becomes a Fencer. Eryn has her very own agenda : to collect the 100 other swords in order to wake the Goddess up from her eternal sleep. Fang is obviously not OK with wandering around the world when he could just sleep under a tree which leads to a series of funny scenes with Eryn's attempts to get anything out of her unreliable partner. And then there's this girl that really looks like Pamela from the Atelier series who is enjoying her tea time in the middle of a dungeon filled with monsters. Her name's Tiara and she's accompanied by a little pet named Cui. She's actually another Fencer and the furball is her own fairy. Also, she seems way too informed about the whole sealed Goddess situation but she shares Eryn's opinion and wants to help. Once you manage to get a new fairy weapon, you are expected to unseal one of the swords from the Goddess' body. Funny thing is, you can also choose to unseal one of the swords from the Vile God's body and I'm really curious about the outcome if the Vile God wakes up first. The dungeons and fields remind me of an Hyper Nepnep game : you can do symbol attacks, the fields look the same, the items you can pick look the same, the icons look the same. The battle system is very similar too. And the cutscenes and character animations remind me of Agarest. This feels very weird. So far, I've managed to get my hands on 5 new weapons without much difficulty. The story hasn't really progressed since the beginning of the game. It's more of a succession of watching cutscenes about a possible new weapon location, opening the new dungeon, clearing the dungeon, defeating the boss, rinse and repeat. After playing the game for about 3 hours, my opinion on it is that it's not a bad game but it's not going to be the game of the year either. And even after the event, I have to clear my backlog of those 10 games before I start anything else. I love the KH series but I can't play them due to severe motion sickness :/ I went as far as the Little Mermaid's world in the first KH but it was too painful to keep going. Popular Post Kevvik
Game #9: The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 Final impression So I've been home sick today after being ill most of the weekend. This gave me a lot more time than usual to put into it. It also put this game at just the right speed for me although I got fuddled at a few puzzles because of it. You really can't move on until you solve one puzzle sequence before the next so that stalled me at times. As did the constant backtracking, generally without fast travelling which was annoying as it felt more like time filler than anything else. I stated previously that I enjoyed the script and the voice acting, both being well done. I stand by that. Maybe it was because I was sick but so much just seemed to fall flat and feel like something was missing. I would think that something was funny or clever rather than smiling or laughing at it. Not sure why. The ending likewise felt rushed after the prolonged game with its plethora of large puzzles. It also set up a sequel which to my knowledge hasn't been made yet. The characters were all good other than the idiot pirate, Nate. He was just annoying and I couldn't wait for him to leave the screen. Intermittent audio bugs later in the game were also annoying as it would suddenly sound like the actor moved away from the mike for prolonged periods. Thankfully, I use subtitles but it was still a point that should have been picked up or maybe it was just a glitch that only affected me. The puzzles were alright for the most part but one had you going back and forth extensively through several areas which grew tedious. Overall, this was a lengthy adventure that I felt I should have enjoyed more than I did. Hope others enjoy it more. Time played - 17 hrs Trophies - 51/51 for 100%, S rank Final grade - 5/10 Completion rate to date: -2.09% Next up: Game #10: Okami HD I might do a bit of Demon Gaze or Tales from the Borderlands later. Next few days are pretty busy so I'm hoping to be able to put the requisite 3 hrs into Okami.
Popular Post jasondm300
Now that I am back from vacation, and have access to an actual keyboard and computer, I can finally put my thoughts into games 5-9 Alone With you Play Time ~ 5 hours Trophies 13/25 45% for A Rating Alone with you is a Sci-Fi Adventure game taking place in a Space station where there was a horrible disaster. As the only living being left, you work with your AI partner to find a way home. Sounds simple enough. While exploring one of the locales, you pick up items and information to build a spaceship home. The second part of the game is the relationships you can build with employees of the space station in the Holo-Sim. They are not the living people, and they are well aware of it. The decisions you make can help stengthen the bond with the other employees, and helps to figure out what happened in the past. I finished the story once all the way through, and I will be going back after this and work towards the other endings and the platinum. I see this as a game I maybe play once every couple of weeks to get all the dialog trees. To Platinum, it will take 4 more playthroughs Grim Fandango Remastered Play Time ~ 6 hours 22/48 trophies 39% for C rating I went from a bunch of games with no story to a few game sin a row that is all about the story. Grim Fandango Remastered is (suprise) a remaster of the 1998 Lucasarts Adventure Grim Fandango. it was always a game I wanted to play, but I never knew anybody with the game and it was so expensive. Manny Calavera is a Travel Agent in the Land of the Dead. After being assigned the worst of the worst in humanity, and therefore not making money for the agency, he decides to steal a worthy soul in Meche. When she gets put on the perilous road instean of the Number Nine, a grand adventure awaits for our hero. I made it to year 2, and will definitely go back to this game, most likely as my first game to finish after the event. Great gameplay, likeable characters, and a really good story. But, fuck tank controls. Nihilumbra Play time ~ 3 hours 6/12 Trophies 33% for B rating Nihilumbra is a puzzle platfomer that is very reminiscent of the early Vita game Sumioni, which I was a fan of. You play as Born, where you come from the Void. The goal is to use you powers that you earn as you go on, each one attached to a different color to make it to the end. These powers include a sticky mud, an ice coating to speed up both yourself and enemies and green spongy coating to help bounce higher. There is also a "boss" level where you are being chased by the Void to return. it is an auto scolling level, and makes you have some better twitch reflexes than the other levels. The puzzles aren't really do hard, at least through the first three worlds, and I will be returning to this to finish up the last 2 worlds. We Are Doomed Play Time ~1.5 hours 1/12 Trophies 4% for E Rating We are Doomed is a twin Stick Shooter. I really wish I could say more, but everyone knows what they are now and days. This one is pretty bland, in my opinion. The graphics are minimalist, the enemies are uninspiring and look like Geometry Wars knockoffs, which this game is. There isn't much more to say than that. Mediocre gameplay, controls that seemed a little sluggish to me, and bland design. I'll stick with Geometry Wars 3 on the Vita 2013 Infected Wars Play Time ~1 hour 1/12 Trophies 5% for E Rating This game sucks. really sluggish gameplay, boring enemies, awful reload times for guns. I know this game is a port of a mobile game, but it really shows. You are a mercenary fighting through Zombie hoards to get to the end. I think. I couldn't really make out what the guy on the radio was saying, and there were no subtitle options. The level up system is one of the stupidest I have seen. You only get XP for the type of weapons you use, only if you choose the right class. For example, the Sapper class only gets XP from explosive guns. So all the kills with your pistol, which has infinite ammo, means nothing. You would have to use a grenade launcher, costing money and then keep buying ammo for it. At least there were no microtransactions. Going to start Futuridium EP tomorrow and then be done with this shit pile. So far, I have liked 3 of the 9 and finished 1 of those. Not great percentage

Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #9 Day #2+3 Total Time Played: about 5h 30m Trophies earned: 3/32 I put a few more hours into the game and I'm finally out of Midgar, which is where I stopped now that I can travel the world map and apparently save at will. The Good: simple to use interface reasonably interesting "quests" The Bad: the combat is fairly boring, maybe in the 90s it would have been something more innovative, but not by today's standards don't really like any of the characters getting stuck, because I needed to exhaust the dialogue with some NPC. When I speak to someone once, I expect them to continue talking until they're actually done and not having to keep initiating conversations with them over and over just so I can eventually progress. So far It's just mediocre . Final game is up with Okami. I have a feeling I'm not going to enjoy that one all that much either.

Popular Post DamagingRob
Days 2 & 3 Just decided to skip a Day 2 review, after sleeping so late. But I love this game. Granted, I am running out of trophies I can earn on the lowest difficulty setting, and I don't know what Commander will be like. But I've played through the campaign 3 times, now. It's pretty short. But still, so much fun. The 3 characters I've played as all have different styles. Optimus Prime and Grimlock are more bruisers who can take more damage, and dish it out. While Bumblebee is faster, and should probably try to dodge more. Although, on Easy, I really have not had any trouble with difficulty. Rarely died, if I even did. Grimlock is the least fun to play as, though, in my opinion. Instead of a car, he transforms into a robot T-rex. And while this may sound cool, it is really not. While the vehicles pick up speed automatically, Grimlock requires you to mash to gain speed. So, anytime you have to travel, or perform a rush attack with him, get ready to mash that button.. There's a synthesis shop for upgrading your weapons. Skills may be learned and XP is earned when combining weapons this way. And a bunch of challenge missions open up, as you progress through the main game. I bought new skills, too. One lets me deflect some projectiles, by flicking the left analog stick up just as it's about to hit. Another lets me perform counterattacks when dodging. And a rush combo, which does a flurry of attacks, instead of just a single punch with the standard rush attack. The combat is where the game truly shines, and is a lot of fun. There's a bit of platforming, and turret sections. The turret sections are really easy. I farmed some S-rank weapons on one, in a challenge mission on Commander difficulty. Platforming can be a bit tricky, but you only lose a bit of health if you fall. Not die, like is custom in many platformers. So, yeah. I'm really enjoying this game. So, I will maybe give this a . Depends on how much I hate going for the Plat. Lol. Time played: I don't know, 9-10 hours, maybe? Trophy progress: 13/31 for 40% Did it lower my completion? Yes.
Popular Post MarkusT1992
Game #9: Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition (Day 3) I covered everything what I remembered yesterday but after playing today I remembered other things I wanted to write, so here it is. The first thing you need to get used to is that in this game is left-hand traffic. The first time I came out of the little court infront my appartement I wondered why allthe cars are driving on the wrong side. Apparently Hong Kong is like England in this matter. In addition to the things you can do I mentioned yesterday you can collect things. There are jadestatues, health shrines, little boxes containing money and clothes etc. The shrines increase you max health for every five you pray at. The jadestatues are for learning new moves. You have to bring them back to a fighting school lead by a former friend (?) of you. As usuall in open world games you can buy stuff. In this game you can buy clothes and cars. Also some food to heal. The clothes grant you a bonus for different things when you wear a matching set like more cop exp. Cop exp. is a part of the overall experience system. Beneath cop exp. there's also triade exp and reputation exp. Cop exp is earned through being careful in missions. You needn't to destroy objects like street lamps ore fences while driving or not hurting inocent people in fights. Triade exp is earned through combat. Hit your enemies with different moves to gain more exp. Reputation is earned through most oft the little side missions like the favours or the other events. Each of the three gives you new abillities for different situations. I most certanly forgot something again but you should have a good image of the game now. There are two DLC stories you can select from the main menu but I won'tplay them before finishing the main game so can't say anything about them. I like this game very much. Open world games are one of my favourites. The game looks beautifull, especially during rain. There is so much to do that I barely advance the story. It's just a good game overall. I don't want to give a because there are even better games like Zelda OoT or Darksouls so I give it a Trophies: 14/60 Completion: 15% Time played: 6h 55min
