So I managed to get RE:ORC and Valiant Hearts done for the event. The former, absolutely shocking game, don't play this unless you hate yourself, seriously?. Glad it's over with, it definitely doesn't deserve the RE logo either. The story is bad, the controls are awkward at times, the S+ rankings seem random with how they are generated at times. We could get all S ranks and way above the requirements and still not get the S+, @rjkclarke was particularly unlucky in this regard, then other times you could get an A rank in there and it would give you an overall S+.

 

The other game I managed to finish last week was Valiant Hearts: The Great War, which was brilliant. It's a really moving game that I'd recommend anyone to play, and it's really short too so if you get chance to play it, I'd definitely say give it a try.

 

I started Titanfall 2 last night and started my attempts at Becomes The Master, I'm going to have a few more attempts tonight, but I could see myself improving the more attempts I made. I'm moving it forward to the Spring Challenge anyway, I'm really hyped to finally play this!

 

GTA IV will be getting done, I'm just boosting the level 10 right now, but that's going to take around another 8 hours, so unfortunately I didn't complete all of the games on my list for the challenge, but I'm happy with my progress anyway.

Quick update on this! Managed to get Becomes The Master and I've now started the campaign on Master. This was a really satisfying trophy to go for.

Well, I guess I couldn't complete the challenge. It was still interesting to discover my gaming and completion patterns. First, I think 6 games was too much to start with. I'll probably need a well curated list of games if I plan to finish 6 games in 3 months. Second, I have 3 games unfinished for different reasons. I didn't complete Celeste due to the difficulty towards the end, Wolfenstein out of boredom, and Outer Wilds because of how terrifying it is. I do plan on going back and completing them, I just need more time. It also doesn't help that I take week long breaks between playing a game again if I get stuck. Either way, all the best to everyone going into the Spring event! Have a great day ahead.

Finished Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas due to the fact @BlackSquirrell1 threw down the gauntlet by whining about the game!  I didn't have any problem with the fishing or bosses, but trying to find the bloodstones was a pita.  Didn't quite finish my list, but hey, there is always next time!

Bloodstones do tend to be a pain to find. Also, I hope those two games you couldn't do get to the Spring Backlog because it's not too difficult to platinum Cat Quest 2. Yes, there is a 20-wave gauntlet dungeon you have to do but with the best gear at max level you can probably take it down. Don't know much about Spirit of the North but from what I hear it's easy too.

Final unofficial update

 

Been a while since I last posted, but I wasn't officially in this one so didn't want to clutter up the feed.

 

I managed to make a bit more progress in my personal goals and game clean up, although didn't quite manage everything I'd hoped to get done. Most notable was getting Overwatch back to 100% ?. Luckily they didn't drop any new trophies with the release of season 3, but who knows how long that'll last ?.

 

I continued to practice my combos in Persona 4 Arena, I'm now up to 265/390. Score Attack still kicks my ass, and no further progress was made there. But I am genuinely pleased with what I did achieve (including nailing combo challenge 30 for Shadow Labrys!). The same can't be said for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. Margaret's combos 20-25 still elude me, but I did do a few easier ones for Marie and Adachi so not a complete bust. The main distraction I had on my PS3 was Catherine. Even though I've already platted it, I really enjoy loading up those Babel stages and trying to complete them. I did the co op mode during my plat run, but now I've managed to solo the Altar, Menhir and Obelisk! It's a shame that Axis Mundi is glitched in the solo mode on PS3, but I guess my time will come when I eventually go for Full Body ?

 

Other than that, I played DBZ Kakarot for the Kaleidoscope challenge, and now I've started a few more games in preparation for the Spring event.

 

I've really enjoyed reading everyone's updates, congrats to everyone for all the progress you've made and I'll see you all (officially) tomorrow!

Oh dear, I really don't mind though.... I probably could have gotten a few more games knocked off, but for various reasons I had a few gaming lulls over the course of the event. One of those isn't ever going to be an issue again, so this is good, and the other one being that about three of the weeks of the event this year alone, I've not been anywhere near my consoles, and when presented with the option of "Spend some quality time with my awesome girlfriend, or play video games by myself,,,," Well the only reasonable answer to that is for my consoles to go sit on a flaming cactus  

 

Speaking of awesome girlfriends.... @Redblaziken8 and I finally put the absolutely monstrous, and not remotely fun Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City to bed... What a terrible experience that game is, and one that I recommend nobody bother to play, even if they already own it..... Thank me for that later ..... I am at least looking forward to when I do a bit of catching up review-wise, and I get to that game. that I get to absolutely obliterate it in specific detail about why I think it's so terrible. I am very glad, that it's done at least.

 

I am ending the challenge on a good note though, as I managed to finish The Order: 1886 today, which is a game I've been meaning to play for the longest time, but just never quite got around to.

 

I really enjoyed it though, and if you can pick it up for a decent enough price I'd totally recommend a playthrough of it, for a game that was released over eight years ago, it really does look visually remarkable. And the gun-play is incredibly satisfying too, which when you go from playing the video game equivalent of a drawing made entirely with animal faeces in Operation Raccoon City, that kind of thing really makes a difference.

 

I'm basically at 9 completions for the event - the only reason I'm not is because the platinum for WWE2K22 is set to pop on Friday, as the only thing that I have left is a lifetime challenge for logging into the game 5 days of a week 4 separate times. And because of my schedule being a bit all over the place, that's only just unlocking now. So it'll be nice to have that one done too.

 

It's been nice to be gaming alongside you all again though, and I'll see plenty of you in the Spring challenge, which I'm just going to go and throw together a list for now actually.

 

Well done to everyone involved for all the slaying of the backlog, and for keeping us all entertained on a daily basis with all the updates. Catch you all in the next one! .

I'm so very jealous of you guys. I never have the skill to find a girl and have never had my first kiss, so I think that quality love should ALWAYS be top priority over digital entertainment since my own ship has long since sailed. By the way, @rjkclarke, congrats on putting that Resident Evil game back into the grave! I am not a Ressy fan (zombies are not my cup of tea) but I like it when gamers finally take down their Achille's Heels, especially when it's with family, friends or significant others. Being pretty much alone, it's nice to hear stuff like this.

 

This event has been really great and I hope to put it a ton more effort in the next three months.

One last minute platinum before the challenge ends.

I finished Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden and I must say, that I liked The Isle Dragon Roars better. I got incredible lucky with the gambling trophies in this one and finished all four card games first try but this game felt like a step back compared to Isle Dragon. The game has recycled monster and character designs and the gameplay is exact the same as in Isle Dragon which dosen`t  bother me, because I really like that game. But there are a lot of design flaws in this one:

- allmost useless and underlevelt third party member.

- temporary mandatory party members who doesn`t level up and can`t be equiped with better weapons and armor.

- buying weapons is almost useless after the first episode, because you get the best weapons for your main character for free.

- the bosses and a lot of enemies are damage sponges and hard hitter.

Spoiler

- the light/water part of the last boss and the secret boss are unfair. Basically all of my other negative points are summarized in this two boss fights.

To sum it up: The Forsaken Maiden is not bad, but if I must recommend one game in the series it would be The Isle Dragon Roars. I still plan on buying the third game in the future, but I really hope it is more polished than the second.

 

For the event:

I doesn`t finish my list, but 10 out of 12 (with 2 swaps) is not bad in my opinion.

I also didn’t get back to Titanfall 2, despite my love of it. I’m sure I’m getting worse at the gauntlet. I’ve had several people tell me it just needs practice, but I’m not getting much time for that lately as my youngest has decided to be done with naps most days. It got to a point where I jokingly told my partner that for our anniversary his gift to me could be getting that trophy for me. It wouldn’t help as he has less time for video games than me.

What's up y'all!

 

Firstly, huge props to everybody's progress, and for our fearless leader @MidnightDragon, who as always hosted like a damn boss! Sadly I came up short again, but as they say, can't win em all.

 

I made an attempt to tackle the entire Impossible playthrough for Dead Space today just for one last February completion, but made it to chapter five and was like "NOPE." After getting to those necromorphs on the wall with all those limbs jumping out at you (I HATE those), I knew it was time to throw in the towel. When I get back to it, I'll be glad to have a big chunk of the playthrough done, but I probably would've been better off just grinding Dynasty Warriors all day?

 

Knocking out Enslaved felt great. Those collectibles are seriously unreasonable, even during boss fights and timed chase sequences you still have to be on the lookout for those stupid things. It's a well written adventure game, but the ending tries a lil too hard, and there's too many generic aspects to the gameplay for it to be really great. A shame.

 

Anyway, I'm sitting out Spring since my inconsistent gaming time is unlikely to change, but I'll be happy to play cheerleader for y'all! Great job again everybody, and best of luck to you for the Spring challenge?

Final update - I managed to squeeze in one final completion for this event, Ys: Memories of Celceta! I absolutely loved this game, especially the incredible soundtrack. The NG+ run on Nightmare difficulty felt a little pointless, but at least you could speedrun the majority of it. I also cleaned up all but one of the miscellaneous trophies in Dead Space 3  the no damage drill room. I read in a comment that it was way easier with the Foam Finger Cannon so I'm waiting until after I beat Classic difficulty before attempting it.

 

Six completions overall, with four of those being games that were previously unfinished on my profile, I'm happy with that! Will definitely join the Spring event, I just need to think a bit more about what list I'm going to take into it. Fantastic progress everyone!
