That grind was insane, glad it's over. I don't want to see this game again. The rest is fun, though, too bad getting the plat isn't a great experience. Don't have anything else to say about it right now thanks to the grind. So that's my entire list done and the event is about to end as well. This might be my final update. I could do some more short games, the likes that take a day or two to complete even when I have to go to work, but I might not do that. We'll see. Anyway, thanks for hosting this event @MidnightDragon and good luck to everyone else with their lists.
Popular Post Static_Rook
Update 12 - 2/20/2023 (Final) No progress last week, and I doubt I'll play anything other than Diablo 2R this week so I'm making this my final update for the challenge. Only 2 games finished so not a great result from me, but it was still fun reading about everyone else's progress. Congrats to everyone who finished their lists! And if you didn't, you probably did better than me so you still got that going for ya. On the bright side, I finally got Dragon Quest Heroes off of my backlog list after 7 years so that's a small victory. Unfortunately, I won't be able to take part in the Spring contest after all due to some work stuff, but good luck to everyone moving on to that one. Take care! The game is good and I have fun with it, but I liked the first one more, because it has a few questionable design/gameplay changes and difficulty spikes that I`m not a big fan of. Aside from that, I played a lot of Hong Kong Massacre last week, which is basically Hotline Miami with (only) guns and Bullet Time and it is a ton of fun (and frustration) and Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance which is a real blast from the past, because the last time I played through it, was nearly 20 years ago on the PS2 and from what I played so far it holds up to my nostalgia.
Popular Post Fanatixa1
Hi everyone, This is my last update for this challenge. The last 2 weeks I was on vacation in Morocco and I didn't have any time to play. There for I've decided to swap God of War Ragnarok for Pinkman +. I heard this was an enjoyable but easy platinum, so I decided to play this instead so that I can finish my list. I played the game and I have to say it was a little to easy for my liking. I'd hoped for a bit more, but noting to do about it now. I will move God of War to the spring challenge. See you over there! Thanks @MidnightDragon for organizing this event! 1. Popular Post YaManSmevz
Update #11 2/21/23 What's goin on, you seasonal challenge masters, you? Huge props to the peeps who've already wrapped it up, y'all are animals! I've still got a shot, but it's definitely gonna be close. Started Streets of Rage 2 but forgot to add it here formally, it's almost done now so instead of that I'll be using Sayonara Wild Hearts as a swap for XCOM - I gotta be real, that one just ain't happenin this month. A lot of grinding remains for Dynasty Warriors 7, but I feel it can be done. It's funny because I would be finished so much more quickly if I just skipped all the cutscenes - not only is the voice acting reliably atrocious, but I've literally seen all these stories countless times already - and yet I still watch every single one. I have a problem, truly! Dead Space hit the backburner but I need to get back on that. I'm just an Impossible run away from that plat, and after two playthroughs I'm pretty familiar with where most enemies spawn. I am making no mistake here though, I'm not expecting a walk in the park at all? The real star of the week has been Enslaved, which I've finally given the true deep dive that it deserves. Cool story and a gorgeous world, plus Monkey's parkour abilities are insane. Four chapters off, and I'm playing it on Hard so once those are done a lot will be finished. I'm just dreading the collectible clean up... 1,606 fucking tech orbs, what were they thinking?? This last week gonna be tight? Best of luck to those of you still grinding away with me, and again, big up to everybody who finished early? 1. Grand Theft Auto IV ️2. Dead Space (91%)3. God of War ️4. God of War II ️5. Dynasty Warriors 7 (33-->36%)6. Red Dead Redemption ️7. Enslaved: Odyssey to the West (27-->58%) 8. Medal of Honor ️ 9. Altered Beast 10. Popular Post gruffiiti
Quick update as we get close to the end of the challenge. I know I don't have any completions to show this time but hopefully will have one more update coming at zero hour with those. Death's Door I decided to go the 2 playthrough route for Deaths Door as I wanted to experience the game while being able to use all the available weapons. I have completed the first playthrough with all the collectibles, misc trophies, etc and will be starting a quick re-play right away using only the umbrella as a weapon for that last trophy. Shouldn't take too long as I only need to stick to the story path. I think I have enough time to finish before end of the event. Paradise Killer *NEW GAME ADDED Randomly decided to play this game even though I was already struggling to get the rest of the games on my list completed. If you like collectibles this game is for you as they are everywhere and a lot of them. At least there is a power-up you can get during the game that helps you locate them or Id be there for months yet. I have finished all the heavy lifting in this game and should be able to get the plat next time I play. South Park: The Fractured But Whole Did not get back to this game this month as I had hoped because of Paradise Killer so will be pushing South Park into the Spring challenge instead. Death's Door - 2% --> 91% Paradise Killer - 0% --> 90% South Park: The Fractured But Whole - 35% *PUSHED TO SPRING CHALLENGE Yoku's Island Express - 100% Warhammer: Chaosbane - 100% Hoa - 100% Fallout Shelter - 100% A Fisherman's Tale - 100% Swaps Used 3/3
Popular Post Darling Baphomet
Finally finished Stray! I still think it was a bit overhyped but it is a very good game for what it is; easy to get into and the environments are beautiful. Surprisingly intricate story, too, although the fact that all these robots keep talking to a cat who, for all intents and purposes seems to be normal besides being able to read and speak English, always felt a bit odd. If I can get myself in my VR headset for something other than VR workouts hopefully I can finish Along Together before the end of the month, and maybe Powerslave too while I'm at it. Event games: Spoiler IN PROGRESS: Along Together - 34% Powerslave Exhumed - 14% FINISHED: Chicory: A Colorful Tale - 100% Toem - 100% Red Matter - 100% Moss - 100% Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - 100% Manifold Garden - 100% Stray - 100% NOT STARTED: Curse of the Dead Gods - 21% Pixel Ripped 1995 - 10%
Popular Post StilRh
Hey loves. This last week has been good, both in IRL and gaming progress. Following the investigation at work, I've had a 'fact finding' meeting and some of the allegations have been disproven (like atomic bomb levels of blown the fuck out! Expect me in the next Phoenix Wright game) but there is still some work needed to fully clear my name. I'm allowed to work again (albeit from home), hopefully things return to normal before long. Gaming wise, I've platinumed Nom Nom Galaxy at long last. I used a guest account on my ps4 to earn online trophies. Quirky gameplay and the grind aside, I really liked this game and wish we had more factory-style games on console. I've not touched any other of my listed games as I am thinking to leave them under 33% incase I wanted to carry them over to the Spring event. Off-list, I was recomended Kaiju Wars which is a lovely TBS which makes me think of Advance Wars and Into the Breach. As I couldn't sleep last night I wanted a puzzle game to help me relax. I heard about Sokoban puzzles and downloaded (and platinumed) Cubicban (which is not a sokoban game at all). It was an ok distraction for £3, too easy I thought. I want to get another platinum before the end of the event. Dead Space is still on the cards, I'm just trying to psyche myself up for impossible, lol. Void Terrarium++ would be lovely but I'm finding the current dungeon quite hard. Muvluv: Alternative is something that I love and has been on my backlog for a long, long time. It's just getting the reading time in and my poor vita is on life support and doesn't hold it's charge very well these days. I've been thinking a lot about my Spring Challenge list, it keeps expanding but I'm trying to keep it reasonable. Have a great week! It's nice to make some progress on this game as well as it's another that's been sitting in my backlog at 1% since 2019 and I've been wanting to play it for a while. I've been missing out with the Borderlands series, but who better to play it with than your other half . Ended up buying the first Borderlands as well so I can eventually get the series completed. So for the actual Winter Backlog Challenge, I finished off Crash Warped earlier this week, fun game and a lot easier than the first two Crash games. A couple of the relics were a bit tricky but otherwise, not so bad! Nice to have the Crash trilogy platinumed now after nearly 4 years of having them on my account. I decided to do Crash 4 in my own time, so I don't have to rush through it for the Spring event, so I'll be playing that alongside my backlog after a quick break from Crash. Started Valiant Hearts: The Great War the other day, I really love the comic book artstyle in this game, and it's apparent a lot of effort was made to include factually accurate information about WWI. It follows 5 different characters, of different nationalities in the war and their struggles. I'm looking forward to getting back to this, and the collectibles in the game are pretty interesting too as it gives you information on what was used/worn etc. during WWI, WWI history has always interested me, so the history nerd in me is loving that aspect. The game is a nice change to what I've grown accustomed to with Ubisoft, so I'm glad I decided to try it out. It's available on Premium as well if anyone's interested in starting it. I'm going to move Titanfall 2 to the Spring event as I won't get chance to play it but I might give Becomes The Master a try before the event is over. I think I'll have 11/13 completed by the time the event is over anyway, which is pretty good going I reckon. Congrats to everyone for the progress made so far in your backlogs, and hope to see you all in the Spring event . It probably works quite well on the mobile platform but I would still love to add it to my collection here. reaperveteran86
@Redblaziken8 If you liked Valiant Hearts, I wouldlike to recommend 11-11: Memories Retold to you. Like Valiant Hearts, it is an Adventure that plays in WW1, where you play as a canadian photographer and a german soldier. The artstyle is unique but more realistic as in VH and the game is in 3D and it has the same mechanic as in VH, that collectibles unlock informations about WW1. Here is the trailer for the game:

Popular Post DizzyDavidson
Final Update: Farming Simulator 16 (Vita) - 100% Skylanders Superchargers (PS4) - 100% F1 22 (PS4) - 100% Biomutant (PS4) - 100% Tales of Symphonia (PS3) - 44% => 52% Well this is it. I haven't updated in a while but at the beginning of the month I was facing some work/family issues due to some outside factors, which killed my motivation and time for gaming. I'm still working through the aftereffects but things are getting better. Sorry if I sounded a bit dramatic when I pulled out of the Spring event but it was the right thing to do. Anyway... on to my final thoughts. So I finished my second playthrough of ToS. I did a no gels (healing items) Gung-ho (low lvl) run and got all titles for 2 characters then leveled everyone to 100 at the end of the game and defeated the final boss on Mania (hardest) difficulty. I still have to do the secret dungeon stuff, collectibles (which is related to the the secret dungeon) and everyone else's titles... but for the last one I have to make it pretty much to the end of the game (at least twice more) to unlock which won't happen in the last few days that are left of this event. Although I did unlock 10x XP for my next run. I do love this game so I'm going to keep on playing it. I thought I could finish my list or at least get real close to it but it the end it wasn't meant to be. Congrats to everyone who did and good luck to those that are still going. I enjoyed reading everyone's progress and as always, @MidnightDragon thank you for hosting!

Taruta13
Sorry you couldn't finish or continue, DizzyDavidson, but I understand - life is too short and real life tends to get in the way of fun gaming, so you have to deal with that first. But I finished The Smurfs Mission Vileaf last week. Game is pretty fun but also annoying at times when the camera switches position, caused a lot of unnecessary deaths for me. I haven’t played Evil West anymore, been working on Cities Skylines DLC’s and Watch Dogs 2 instead. This also made me decide I won’t signup for spring challenge, it’s to hard to stick to the games I picked 3 months ago or I need to make a big list but then I won’t finish half of it. Popular Post StilRh
Hey loves. No progress since my last update. I tried to complete an impossible run on Dead Space but my shoulder injury has been playing up this week, it aches too much to play any two handed/real time games (I know that sounds weird, why would my shoulder feel worse when using a controller? Well it does). To be fair I think impossible mode would have kicked my ass anyways. I was able to run past the first few encounters taking no damage but some of the later fights had me use more resources than I should have. I'll want to optimise my play for hard difficulty by following some video guides and retry this when I can. Outside of listed games I've played Kaiju Wars which continues to be a really fun almost board-game-like TBS and Warhammer 40k Mechanicus on the recomendation of a friend. I loathed my first hour as I initially found the game play very shallow and the dungeon delving felt too limited to enjoy, but once I completed a few runs and things started to open up I found myself really enjoying the gameplay loop. It feels like a puzzle game as much as anything as you abuse the mechanics to make optimal moves. I've killed bosses on turn 2 of combat due to some CP/canticle/damage builds. Both of these games will be following me into the Spring challenge And that's pretty much it for me this challenge. I think I've done alright. 4 platinums (a few extra outside of my list) is a bit shameful but I've had heavy work stuff, a massive injury and all that going on. Some of my gaming 'highs' have been completely abusing some mechanics in roguelites like Hades and Slay the Spire to completely wreck face - I think the last few months my understanding and approach to these kind of games have really advanced and I look forward to further high level play planning/execution in other games in the genre. This statement also applies to a lesser extent of mystery dungeon style games as I learned from my time with Void Terrarium++. With both Callisto Protocol, Resident Evil 5 and Dead Space it was excellent to play some actiony/survival horrors. I enjoyed clearing Nom Nom Galaxy after 7 years. It's a good game but it asks a lot from a prospective platinum achiever. I appreciated finding games that I could play with only one effective arm and finding a rewarding challenge in these. As always. It's been a real joy to read your progress peeps. My one regret is some days 25 karma is not enough to rep+ you all. I've been very inspired by those clearing very sticky or tricky games. It's been nice to read others having more casual jaunts through their backlogs as well. Popular Post gruffiiti
Managed to finish up my list (except South Park) with a day or two to spare. Just want to say thanks to those who post updates to keep us all motivated. See you all in the Spring event! Death's Door Completed the umbrella only run and I won't lie.. I died to some bosses more times than I would like to admit. It made the game a little harder and was a good challenge yet never felt unfair. With a bit of practice each boss was knocked off and I popped the plat. Highly recommend this game especially if you enjoy these types of games. This one is really well done. Paradise Killer *NEW GAME ADDED Powered out the rest of the collectibles (had to take a break or two as constantly spinning going up the stairs on the high rises looks for the right floor was a bit ?). Speedrun was much easier than it seemed it would be but I still don't know why they would even add a trophy like that as what really is the point?!? Anyways its done and knocked off the backlog. South Park: The Fractured But Whole *Pushed to the Spring Challenge event Death's Door - 91% --> 100% Paradise Killer - 90% --> 100% South Park: The Fractured But Whole - 35% *PUSHED TO SPRING CHALLENGE Yoku's Island Express - 100% Warhammer: Chaosbane - 100% Hoa - 100% Fallout Shelter - 100% A Fisherman's Tale - 100% Swaps Used 3/3

I think I've done alright. 4 platinums (a few extra outside of my list) is a bit shameful but I've had heavy work stuff, a massive injury and all that going on. Maybe you should go see a doctor to get a recommend so you can take time off work to heal that injury. Don't want to risk aggravating it. My mom and sister would be horrified to hear about your problems as they both have medical experience. (My mom used to be a nurse and my sister is one.) Just take care of yourself first, video games can rest on the shelf while you rest in bed, better than to end up ripping a muscle and ending up hospitalized.
