Hello I would like to join the challenge, I also joined last year, but a 6 month long work trip abroad kind of ruined it. Anyways, here is the first list:

Just a quick update from me in that I have lots of lists on the go at the same time at the moment as I am juggling this challenge with other challenges plus also some lists will not be able to be completed until later in the year due to the Murica and Spooky badges anyway.  I currently have 23 Platinum's for 2023 and am concurrently also working on another 12 that should all be completed on May 4th (i am currently prepping a whole bunch of Star Wars games to pop all their Platinum's on May 4th).

 

Currently i am spreading the games i have completed across multiple lists with about 6 on the go at the moment but i do have a lot of duplicates on the lower difficulties so it will all come down to how many different 8,9 and 10 games i am able to complete which will determine how many lists i will actually complete.  My goal is for 4 complete lists if i am able to with anything more considered a bonus.

 

Also @Rebourne07 congrats on completing your fist list.  Since i  recently picked up a VR2 i am now considering to get GT7.  How long did it take you to get the Platinum and did you use a controller or Steering Wheel / Peddle set up?

Haha, the 'Murica badge is the one screwing me up atm. I should have planned my list a bit better because I want to do the OCD badge and the 'Murica badge, but my 'Murica game is my 4/10 ... which means I'm sorta stuck waiting around for July to make progress on that list. I might not bother with that badge... or do it on another list maybe. That said, I'd struggle to do two full lists I think. Decisions decisions. 

 

At the moment, my strategy has basically been to get started on all the other games in the list, but not platinum them. However, having a bunch of games with only a few trophies left to complete will annoy me

My timer on GT7 got messed up cause I used the afk credit grinding method to get credits for the 3 legendary cars so my timer says it took me 150hrs, but I'd say realistically it was more like 70-80hrs. I used a plain old Dualsense controller, no wheel is needed. VR would be fun on that one though. The platinum difficulty comes down to the license tests, everything else is easy, so if you feel like you can do those then I'd say go for it.

Demon's Souls is done! Even though I've heard this is the easiest Soulsbourne game, I'm proud of myself for finish this game since the Souls games are ones I always tried to get into but never could. But thanks to a friend giving me tips, I started to understand this game and had a great time! I didn't find it too difficult, although New Game Plus kicked my butt haha

 

Next up is Cuphead, which I've already started and am a good way through already.

Finally done !!!!!

 

This game was really hard to finish, it need at least 12Months if you are very lucky (took me around 16) !

Done after 686 hours, it would have taken longer if i haven't met good players ingame !

The worst part was to beat the final boss of each invasion (6) and they pop every 60 days for 30 days, one at a time (it take a year to see them all)

The only way to kill them is with 8-10 players, the servers are getting empty every seasons (one season 60 days).

The good players ingame don't do the trophies and have like 4000 hours of gameplay, witout them to help new players it would be also impossible to get 

the platinum.
That's why i'll say that Skyforge is certainly one of my hardest platinum and the one that took the more time to finish !

Finished Crash 4 for my 10/10! The game itself is great, but it's an absolute slog to get 106%. You have to play each level a minimum of 3 times but it's definitely going to take you more replays than that to perfect every level and beat the platinum time trial. The inverted mode is also pretty pointless since it's just a flipped version of the original level with a filter and a new hidden gem location. I think if they removed the perfect relics and the inverted mode, the game would be a lot tighter and it wouldn't feel as grueling to complete the game. But in terms of the moment-to-moment gameplay, the game feels fantastic to play. The controls feel tight and the addition of the yellow circle below Crash/Coco is a huge help since depth perception in this series can be tough.

 

I've also filled in a few more planned spots on the list and linked the guides for reference. I could have sworn Sackboy was a 6/10 on PSNP but I guess the guide got updated.

Ha Ha! Yes i also plan things out on Spreadsheets as i do love a good Spreadsheet ?

You will see a lot of colour coding in different areas. This is to help me track various badges LOL

1/10 TOEM

 

Not much to say here... A chill and charming little game with a unique aesthetic, TOEM was a short and sweet experience that I was happy to play for my 1/10. Thanks, Playstation Plus.

 

 

3/10 Final Fantasy VIII Remastered

 

This is a game I had a lot of trepidation about replaying. I loved it back in the day (so much so that I actually bought an imported Pocketstation so I could play the goofy Chocobo minigame), but I kind of outgrew Final Fantasy years ago (the last one I played was 12, and I sorta hated it.) On top of that, there's The Discourse™ around this game: so many people really dislike it, and are very enthusiastic about telling the internet why and how much. Years of reading this stuff has made me think: Did I just have really bad taste when I was a teenager? If I replayed the game now as an adult, would it just spoil all those warm and fuzzy nostalgia memories? Is it worth the risk?

 

Would I still be Team Eight -- or would I now be Team Hate?

 

Well, after finishing the game as part of this challenge, I can say that I totally understand the criticisms people have for it. The gameplay is a mess, with the poorly-conceived level scaling, tedious draw system, and generally poor game balance. The schizophrenic story is unfocused and frequently relies on lame hand-wave-y contrivances to explain key plot points. It feels like they designed it all in a committee meeting:

 

Guy 1: So, I have an idea for a story that will explore the ephemeral nature of memory...

Guy 2: With time travelling? And a love story... in spaaaaace?!

Guy 1: Uhh... Actually I was thinking more about the fragility of childhood memories, and how entering adulthood can....

Guy: 3: JABBA DA HUT. IN DA BASEMENT.

Guy 1: ............ What?

Guy 4: Did somebody say space? What if, like, all the monsters just fell off the moon, and...

Guy 3: I FUCKIN' LOVE HOT DOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

But. Despite all of that -- I am still Team Eight. All the way. For all of the game's bumps and rough edges, there is still a magic about it that managed to pierce through my jaded old gamer heart and put a gigantic smile on my face. The music, the cast of characters (shout out to my homeboy Big Bad Rascal), Triple Triad, the summon cinematics that are still wildly impressive (and just plain cool) to this day... as uneven as the experience may feel as a whole, there are just so many brilliant moments and so much creativity and imagination present that I couldn't help but still love this game. I'm definitely glad I replayed it. Thanks, Platinum Difficulty Challenge.

I am back in a flash with Sackboy completed. The final trial was quite annoying. It's not like it was overly difficult but it was easy to screw up over 7 minutes in and have to repeat all the easy stuff again. The game was alright overall. I'm happy I got it free from PS+ rather than paying for it.

Next Game done on my list, I finished the beautiful game Okami HD. I liked the game a lot, the music and the style are fantastic. The gameplay was pretty fun and the trophies were pretty easy doable. The only thing i disliked was the fishing trophy. It took me a while to get all the different fish and the minigame got boring preatty fast.

No need to change that if you don't want. I know it was a 6 so you can keep it a 6 or use the new rating, either one, up to you.
