This site needs to work on games that are either lesser known and the sports games especially. Just my personal feedback. There are more games than guide writers. You know that, right? 3

This is not even a full-time job plus there are only a few of us and we do this in our free time not expecting anything in return (aside from feedback/adjustments) to deliver guides of high quality for games that we also enjoy playing.
Pumpkin Head Cthulhu
most of us do this in our spare time as a hobby, like myself. I try to cover obscure games that I do enjoy.

OnlyBrooke-
Good luck to anyone and everyone who gets a nomination. I didn't even know guide awards were a thing till this past year. Nice to see there's a system in place for recognising the effort and work a lot of y'all put into guide work 😊

Popular Post Shikotei-kun
Has it been a year already? We've broken a lot of records this year. Massive number of guides, loads of new writers, plenty of returning writers, and I think we also saw the longest guide on the site see the light of day. Shoutout to @HuntingFever for dedicating what can only be described as part of their soul while writing the Vault Hunter's Diary. Kudos to all who wrote something this year.. this tenth year of the guide system on PSNP! What a milestone! I know some of you writers pumped out enough guides to have one for every month, and some of you took the time to write just one. Me, I belong to that last category: one guide this year , for Alchemist Adventure. With a whopping 141 owners (across 4 stacks) as of today, it's one of my rarest games (rarest being with this game with only 70 owners). PSNP wouldn't be the same without guides. There are games that have ZERO guides and that is not good. This site needs to work on games that are either lesser known and the sports games especially. Just my personal feedback. Well, most of my guides were written for games that had less than 1000 owners, down to 140 across multiple versions. Could be I just haven't gotten 'round to one of those other myriad of lesser known games. Information on many of those are hard to find and running through a game multiple times to figure out any oddities is incredibly tedious or just too time-consuming to do with every game. Got a game you'd like to see a guide for? With a backlog of about 300 games, chances are I own something that went under the radar. Fair warning though, I don't have any interest in sports games. The vast majority of them (that I know of) are cheap cash grabs, monetization hellscapes, or rehashes of last year's instance with very little change other than the lineup/roster. The last game I considered writing a guide for was Yestermorrow, but the nature of the game made it very hard to properly document collectibles. There's no in-game map, and I wasn't planning to go through another map-making course (like I did for Arietta of Spirits)... so I opted to post my notes instead in this thread. Sometimes a game just doesn't really need a full guide. Lastly, there are no writer's club membership rituals, fees, restrictions, requirements, credentials, mandatory checks, or anything of that kind. All you need to do to become one is to own the game on PSNP and hit that green "Create a Trophy or Gameplay Guide" button on the trophy list page. It's that simple.

Lesser known games are covered by numerous writers (myself included), there is just so many of them that obviously many won't get guides. Sports games are something that often gets overlooked for guides though yes. Perhaps the current crop of writers simply aren't into such games, but what likely has a lot to do with it is how similar their lists tend to be and the fact that most have only a small timeframe where they are available due to having online trophies and servers getting shut down for them quickly. Darghel
Indeed, I hope to make a guide for another unknown game that I really enjoyed a while ago - even though that means a new playthrough because I remember nothing of it. Unless of course someone thinks doing the exact same and boom goes my guide!
J-S_93
I wrote a Guide for one of these obscure easy games that had a low player count; just to test the waters, and no matter how short the game, writing a Guide can take up much more time than it took to Platinum that same game; it's like coding, the de-bugging phase can take up much more time than than it took to write the code in the first place - and people either don't want to commit that sort of time unless they enjoyed the game somewhat at the very least; and even then, there just isn't a lot of writers that can make a quality body of work for the ocean of games out there. Also, the approval process etc... Is another pain point. I myself did not have a pleasant experience writing for the site - some others may or may not have had a similar experience - there are some writers that absolutely love making Guides for the site and have a great experience; just out of the sheer love of writing - while others like myself might be a one and done sort of thing, and there are also others that will keep writing Guides despite also having negative experiences during the creation process, and they push on - but we have to respect everyone's time at the end of it. Either way - the progress PSNP has made since adding the creation of Guides on the site has been incredible. And remember, the site is nothing without its dedicated playerbase.
thabg23
Well I appreciate all of the guides that have been made on here. I'm sure it will be difficult to choose one winner but all can get some recognition from me 😊☺️
Popular Post DJ_Murda_Murk
Thank you everyone who writes guides and keeps this site running. I know it can be a thankless job much of the time but know you are greatly appreciated. It's not something I could do myself and I respect you all for helping so many of us play and enjoy this wonderful hobby we all love so much. Good luck with the awards and I look forward to another great year of gaming with you all.
Pottercito_
Willing to see my Earthworm Jim HD Trophy Guide nominated! I returned writing to the site after seven years of not publishing any guide. I hope to continue writing guides for old games as a preservation status for the website and as a way of legacy, specially games for PS3. Cheers! Mokkajunior
From someone who just published his first guide, I can say that everyone writing 1 deserves every bit of respect. It's not easy writing a decent guide, so well done to everyone!
