Popular Post Boomshanks
( 81) PAYDAY 2 (PS3) COMPLETELY OVERKILL Enjoyment: 9/10 (beginning) - 3/10 (halfway through) Difficulty: 7/10 Another PS3 game off the backlog. I freaking love the first Payday so buying this one was a no-brainer. In November 2021, after being shelved for 6 years, I picked it up again with two friends with the goal of finally getting the platinum. I have to say, in the beginning the game was fun as hell and the trophies were incredible. There was always a new miscellaneous trophy to go for; something specific to do in one of the many levels. The trophies were challenging but doable and if we didn’t get it, it was because we screwed up. And slowly but surely, we started ticking off the trophies one by one. It was great fun getting to learn the levels and working together to overcome the assaults the game would regularly throw at you . Payday 2 is a game that has to be played cooperatively. With the right people it’s incredible defending certain points from the assaults and taking special enemies down together. It can become very hectic trying to get the cash to the escape vehicle while the whole police force is after you. The sections in stealth were also very fun. The placement of the cameras and the guard routes seem to be completely random so you can’t truly prepare for what’s to come. But finally completing a level in stealth and getting the trophy was very satisfying. And then, it started turning very sour. Payday 2 has the dubious distinction of being the game which has not one, but two of my most hated trophies ever. I’m talking about Guessing Game and They See Me Baggin’ They Hatin. Both of them are completely random. Guessing Game requires you to cut the wires on the correct boxes, but you have no way of knowing which boxes are the correct ones. All the while, there are numerous guards and cameras strewn around which often make it difficult to even get to the boxes. I think we spent over a 100 attempts trying to get this one trophy. There were numerous evening where we were playing the whole time without making any progress . What a terrible RNG trophy to put in the game – it just drained all of the fun that we had previously had. Before, when we didn’t get the trophy, it was because we screwed up. Now, it was because the RNG gods denied it to us. Absolutely terrible. All in all, it took us about a year to get the platinum where we would sometimes be stuck for a month on a single trophy. Getting to level 100 is also a massive grind. When you get to level 85 you only have half of all of the required XP. Again, terrible. The upgrade system is also atrocious. As with everything with Payday, it’s completely random what you get after a level. And most of the things you can get are completely useless, such as color skins for you weapons. You can get pretty much every color combination imaginable so the odds of getting a good attachment for the specific weapon that you are using is very slim. And once you get the right attachment, you still have to buy it ⚰️. A final point I want to touch on is the difficulty. Again, it’s atrocious. The amount of enemies that spawn are completely random. So sometimes, you’ll have a more difficult time on Hard or Very Hard than on Overkill because much more special enemies are spawning. We had matches where about every special enemy type spawned in massive numbers and other times on the same difficulty where barely any special enemy spawned. It’s a terrible system that makes picking a difficulty pretty redundant. Oftentimes it felt as though we had completed a level just because the RNG gods didn’t spawn to many enemies. So yeah, a very mixed bag. In the beginning I had a ton of fun with the game and it can be a blast to play with friends. But the overreliance on randomness, the terrible upgrade system and the absolutely terrible trophies that are completely RNG definitely soured the experience for me and by the end, I mostly felt relieved that it was done instead of looking back on an incredible time.
Popular Post Archer_EPSILON
Platinum 1 - 5.49% For a new account, I wanted to start off with one of my favorite Metroidvanias, Strider. Not a perfect game, by any stretch, but a great addition to the Metroidvania library with fast-pased, frantic action.

Popular Post Thrillhelm
#2647 (not shown because of site maintenance) Marsupilami Hoobadventure (PS4 Version) A hidden gem, a little game that takes a bit from the Rayman and Donkey Kong Country games, doing nothing new and yet it is tons of fun for the 6 to 8 hours till platinum. The devs also gave some additional DLC levels for free which are a bit tougher (main game is a 3/10, imagine the first two worlds of Rayman Legends), and the disc game had two sets of stickers, a plus in my book. An easy yet entertaining platinum with a great, feel-good soundtrack, sadly the PS4 disc version grants you no free PS5 version.
Popular Post Phlegeth
#67 Master Assassin Unlock all trophies. I can't remember if I played this before or not. It wasn't on my list, so it would've been on the 360. There's just some stuff I very distinctly remember. I think I got at least like halfway through. I remember meeting Catarina. Anyway, it didn't age as well. I fought Ezio just as much as the enemies. Especially on the running sections. He just would not jump right. Glad they got that figured out by Black Flag. And the combat wasn't as fun. Edited December 14, 2022 by Ilzakia

Popular Post Darling Baphomet
187: Disco Elysium: The Final Cut (4.28%) After a year of hearing hype about this game I finally decided to dip my fingers in it, and I have to say, this is one of the few games where all the hype was warranted. This game has the best dialogue system I have ever seen in a game, as well as an expressive, wistful writing style and a solid mystery to solve. It's essentially a point and click adventure game with a Fallout-esque dialogue system heavily reliant on skill checks, except far more robust than any other I've seen. You have a combination of 24 skills, which can be passively activated or used to pass skill checks, and each of them are relevant to dialogue. Conversations are like little mazes to navigate - if your perception is high enough, you might catch a small detail that offers a new branch of conversation, or alternatively, you might have your suggestion chime in and tell you that a certain option is a bad idea; on top of that, the game allows you to pursue your goals in a variety of ways, and these choices are actually meaningful for the rest of the game. Even failing skill checks is rewarding, often offering new routes to solve a problem or hilarious or insightful dialogue. The best game I could compare it to is Fallout New Vegas, although the one is a point and click game and the other is an RPG shooter. Combine this with an intricate world to learn about, coherent politics, and vivid expressionist art, and you have a game which is (and I try not to use this word often) a masterpiece - one might even say it's disco. Popular Post Dauersack
The Sims 4 #67 Ultimate Sim Guru The first Sims game I played since the Sims 1 on PC 20 years ago. What can I say, still feels the same, a few features added but thats it, decent experience but not something I would want to play for too long given that it is devoid of any real challenge or proper balancing, which is why I played it for about 2 weeks before unlocking the rest of the trophies with the rather convenient shortcuts the game offers to its players. The dlcs may add more to the experience, but with that ridiculous price tag to really get all dlcs I was not willing to give it a chance, especially not with the number of bugs and the insultingly bad performance at times when playing with a full household, especially during build mode. I got this game as a Psplus freebie, so I am not disappointed by it, got some fun out of it for a while and now I move on, people who really like the concept should consider buying it, though the dlc policy and pricing is something I can't get behind.
Popular Post Jennifayrie
God of War Ragnarok #135 I haven't logged in here in around 2 years! shame! shame! shame! ? I also definitely haven't been playing as many games as I used to or would like to, but as a big God of War fan, I needed to get this as soon as it came out! I don't think I even have the words to express how much I loved this, the narrative, the acting, visuals, beating the crap out of things, the relationship between Kratos and Atreus is just *chef kiss* I cried a few times throughout, Mimir just being Mimir, and honourable mention to the banter between Kratos and the Yggdrasil squirrels. It's a bold statement but for me personally I think it's.. the best game I've ever played (so far) It's made me want to get back in to gaming more, but this game's over so what am I meant to do now, nothing will be the same, I'm just going to get goat simulator 3 and drown my sorrows Edited December 14, 2022 by Jennifayrie
Popular Post Phlegeth
#68 Prizes, Plunder, and Adventure! Win every trophy. Figured I should go and plat Black Flag while I was at it. Now it and Assassin's Creed II are right next to each other. My favorite of the Assassin's Creeds that I've played. I love the ship battles. The worst trophy was the All Rounder, where you had to use everything and every mode in multiplayer. The abilities weren't so bad, but getting a Manhunt or Artifact round was annoying. #Nice The Fifth Emperor of the Sea All trophies acquired The other pirate game I had just sitting around waiting to be platinummed. I haven't watched or read One Piece in years. So like how I get all my Naruto lore from Ultimate Ninja, I get all my One Piece lore from Pirate Warriors.
Popular Post Darling Baphomet
188 - The Copper Canyon Shootout (34.21%) A fun little VR wave shooter I picked up for 4$. It's not all that impressive, all things considered, but what do you expect from a game that's 8$ normally? It's essentially a western where you shoot robots, with not much more to it. What is there is pretty good - the robots are highly destructible and you can shoot their limbs and heads off, as well as shooting their boilers for an explosive finish. There's two guns in the game, a weird futuristic revolver and a futuristic shotgun. They both work decently enough. It's a rather short game with only three levels, all ending in a boss fight against the same enemy (although in the second two levels he has more attacks.) The game's a fair challenge too, since it throws an absolute shitload of robots at you, but for the most part it's a short and pretty easy plat.
Popular Post Ala-Arska
Rogue Aces (played on PS Vita) Platinum Earn all other trophies I'm a 16-bit, 2D, Royal Air Force pilot. With a killer moustache. Fly your plane left or right, up or down. Shoot other planes. Blow up tanks. Neutralize enemy bases. This is a very fun game that doesn't take itself seriously. And it plays perfectly on the handheld. Taking off from your carrier, you get short missions which are in lines of "destroy x amount of enemy planes/tanks/boats". You got your health, ammo and fuel, which you much replenish from time to time by landing your plane to the base. Automatic landing is available, but real pros do it manually. Like young me did in Top Gun NES in the late 80's ? Rogue Aces is a good choice to play on the go, and it's much easier than the rarity-% suggests (thanks PS+). Give it a barrel roll! "- For England, James? - No. For me."
Popular Post ShinigamiSensei-
#221:TRIALS OF MANA Trials of Mana Obtain all trophies. [35.14% UNCOMMON] I enjoyed the game, but to be honest, the platinum road can be boring once you start the new game + (3 whole playthroughs are needed for the platinum). Overall, it's a standard jrpg, but an enjoyable one with an easy but (sadly) boring platinum.

Popular Post alexandra-jane09
#75 : Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart Masters of Multiverse Sad that this game is so short, but so beautiful. The detail in the fur on both Ratchet's and Rivets faces is amazing, Rivet's is more close lying than Ratchet's and when he [ Ratchet ] is wet from rain [ effects are stunning in this game ] it stands out even more. The game follows on from Into the Nexus from the PS3 rather than the reboot on PS4, whereby Ratchet and his adorable anthropomorphic and intelligent Robot friend, Clank appear to be having a party in their honour and have since retired from fighting villains. Cue the party is crashed when the Thugs4Less, now rebranded Goons4Less [ not particular keen on the new name ] come in via their ships and target Ratchet and Clank having been hired by none other than Dr Nefarious whom sadly has now been fixed so he no longer crashes when he is upset [ for shame, as I always loved that ] and he steals the Dimensionator, this is of course the tutorial level where we get to learn all of the moves [ the camera angle can troll you when you are on the grind rails on Torren IV, so be aware of this as I died a few times because of it, and in the ensuing fight with Dr N. it all goes pear shaped when he decides to change history for himself [ a future where by he always wins and is never defeated ]and the dimensionator is shot at by Ratchet in the fight, creating dimensional rifts in time and Ratchet, Dr N and Clank are sucked into it as are the Thugs. They all land at different points and are separated into a future of a Neon city which Dr N remarks about when he lands and finds he is now ruler and has the title of Emporor and everyone capitulates to him, albeit that his counterpart, the real Emporor N. is far taller, has a silver robot body and is English [ voiced by British Veteran V.A, Robin Atkin Downes ] and far more egotistical than him too in many aspects. Ratchet arrives alone, and is immediately told by Mrs Zurkon whom now sells black market weapons and isn't one herself and has a Texan accent that he needs to contact the underground resistance member Phantom [ technically Skidd McMarx in this dimension ] at a Nightclub. Clank arrives without an arm!! and his legs seem to be a little squished and we meet Rivet, a Female Lombax and Ratchet's dimensional counterpart, whom takes Clank and is sceptical about Ratchet's existence as she doesn't trust Robots, but once they get to her home planet of Sargasso [ last seen in Tools of Destruction ] she finds out that Clank was being honest with her when she views his memory banks via a stolen Spybot. Lots of nice Easter Eggs in this game, and Angela is mentioned too. I hope that Insomniac make a longer R&C game next time and perhaps one day we will see his race and oh I liked Kit, Clanks female robot counterpart, the anomaly puzzles though were annoying and got very complicated, how they expected a 7 year old to work some of the later ones out I don't know in contrast I thought the glitch puzzles were quite good fun. Popular Post Zircon_Lotus
Platinum #125 Persona 5 A milestone platinum deserves a special game, so it was finally time for me to play Persona 5. I had a extremely good time with all Atlus games that I played on PS2: Persona 3 and 4, DDS 1 and 2, and SMT Nocturne. But why taking so long (5 years!!!) to finally play P5? The reason is simple, and I felt really stupid after I got this really easy trophy: Passionate Listener. I was so worried that this trophy might damp my playthrough that I was always postponing the game, and when I noticed a lot of time had passed. Btw this is the same reason that I have put off P4G. Usually I talk a bit about the game, but I think enough already has been said about Persona 5. My only grievance is that I think Memento pales in comparison with the rest of the game, lacks the personality that the game is so full off. Persona 3 has a much stronger story that touch you deep inside, Persona 4 has a stronger group, but Persona 5 has something unique, the game feels like home. I put around 140 hours to get the plat, but if I had to do double I would in a heartbeat. If it is not the game with the best soundtrack that I have ever played, it is one of the best. Plus it is hard to find a main character more stylish than Joker. I will join the collective will of the masses and share the same opinion: if you like JRPGs you cant go wrong with Persona 5. Even if this is not your thing I still would expect you to have a really good time. Atlus really raised the bar for the next Persona.
Popular Post Valzentia
#119 - Grease Dance Difficulty: 6/10 Fun: 6.3ish/10 This game is weird. The karaoke and minigames are mindlessly fun if you have a party with you, but my god the dancing is so wonky (and that's supposed to be the main point of the game!!!). Parts of it are very luck-based, but they weren't half-as-bad as the PS Eye constantly shitting itself because of Zoe Mode's shitty coding. Game could have been loads more fun too with the Grease license and all that, but I feel like it doesn't take very good advantage of it and could easily just be marketed as a generic 50's-themed dance rhythm game. It's sad because the idea sounds like a blast in theory. Oh well.
Popular Post Archer_EPSILON
Platinum 2 - Rarity 4.11% Cryptark is an indie twin-stick shooter. Unlike many of the TSS's out there, Cryptark requires less speed/reaction and more planning/"strategery" in order to effectively make it through the procedurally-generated enemy ships. I like going back to this game once a year or so as it's a personal favorite of mine.
