Popular Post Thrillhelm
#2646: Assassin's Creed Unity A 71 hour long way to platinum and 100%, it felt like 600 hours since someone at Ubisoft thought 400+ collectibles and dragging sidemissions were something every player loves to do. Felt like a chore. Best thing are the graphics with one of the best architectures in gaming history, but everything else falls apart: story turned quickly into working off a hitlist, soundtrack is sub-par, and gameplay mechanics are broken. Parcours feels more luck-based and is even more irritating than it was in Black Flag. Despite me being spared from bugs I can see why this is the black sheep of the AC series. Popular Post Viscera1900
#348 - God of War Ragnarök The Bear and the Wolf "Collect all Trophies" An amazing sequel to God of War (2018). God of War Ragnarök is amazing game with incredible story that kept me invested in it the whole way through. In fact the story is so engaging that it made me not wanting to stop and do side quests/activities for misc trophies. There are some pacing problems in the story, but those are very minor complains of mine. God of War Ragnarök is visually really gorgeous and beautiful looking game. Being able to enjoy this beautiful game on 60 fps is a joy, since I'm having difficulties to go back to games with 30 fps. The gameplay is still brilliant and fun to play and I absolutely love Kratos' new voice for Norse mythology games; calm and reasonable Trophy wise it's fairly easy list to complete. One of the things that I didn't like about God of War (2018) trophy list; insane amounts of collectibles with fewer opportunities to fast travel and God of War Ragnarök is also a victim of this headache. God of War Ragnarök is one of the finest game released in 2022. If it wasn't for Elden Ring; this would've been my GOTY for this year. This game's story, characters and voice acting performances surpasses Elden Ring, but falls short in gameplay & exploration department which is why Elden Ring takes the cake for me. Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Completion time: 48 hours / 1 month, 1 day (PSNP) ( I blame Pokemon Violet for this ?) PS. This video showcases what I'm planning to give to my "son" for Christmas. ? To assert my dominance over him ?

Popular Post Eagle
#14 — Tomb Raider (2013) I played this game's campaign ages ago, and it was fun. Can see why the older and/or more hardcore fans of the franchise would get a bit disappointed, since it does take a lot of cues from more action-oriented games such as Uncharted instead of focusing on the exploration and puzzle aspects, but I fit into neither of these categories so I didn't care much for that. But the multiplayer... let's just say it was a pain in my assholes. I'm really glad we're past the era where every game had to have a lazy multiplayer mode because there was a 1/1000 chance that it would be successful, but alas, this is a game from that era. If you want my advice? Just don't even bother grinding to level 60 solo. Do the two-player method. It's still in a "watching paint dry" level of boring, but at least it's much faster.

Popular Post Moridin83
#244 Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory So I decided to try this out since it was include on PS+ Premium, and I'm a pretty big fan of rhythm games and a moderate fan of Kingdom Hearts. I won't say that I regret it, but it's not for everyone. Let's get this out of the way upfront, the bigger a Kingdom Hearts fan you are, the more chance there is you'll enjoy this. It leans heavily on you liking the series, more than on being a great rhythm game. There are 150 tracks, but between half and 2/3 of them feel like BGM from the worlds in the games. It's not bad BGM, but it's not going to keep you wanting to come back the way songs in rhythm games really should. There are 3 different varieties of gameplay, between normal tracks, boss track, and cinematic tracks, and each uses a slightly tweaked control scheme. None of them are different enough to cause a serious problem in shifting between, but the cinematic and boss track sometimes almost obscure the notes with how flash the background effects can be. It's not a huge issue, as this is one of the easier rhythm games out there, especially with the option of one button mode for full chains on Proud if you need it. However, there are a couple of trophy based annoyances worth mentioning. One common to far too many rhythm games, and two unique to this one: Like many rhythm games, you have to clear all songs on all difficulties. Normal? Sure. Proud? To be expected. But clearing all songs on Easy is just painful. Not hard, not in any way, shape or form, but painful. Easy is so braindead that having to sit through all 150 songs just feels so unnecessary. You need Normal and Proud anyway for the plat, so please spare us this. Specific to KH are 2 other trophies that suck the life out of you. Make it to Platinum 1 on Vs COM sucks. The "tricks" never hurt the AI nearly as badly as they hurt you, and they do things like hide the notes, or hide your timing circle. So even if you know the songs decently, if you're not 100% dialed in on them, it gets really frustrating near the top end. It's definitely doable, but the mode feels completely superfluous, and I doubt many people will ever touch it again once the trophy pops. The other awful trophy is defeat 100,00 enemies. By the time you've done everything else for the plat, you'll probably only be at 60-70 thousand enemies, so enjoy playing the hardest song in the game an additional 50-70 times if you want to farm kills efficiently. By the time you're done, the track will haunt your nightmares. All in all, I'd say this one is more for the hardcore KH fans. I didn't hate it, but I was ready to be done with it well before the plat popped.

Popular Post RadiantFlamberge
#24 Elevator Action Returns S-Tribute Every trophy collected Collect all the trophies. Difficulty 4/10 Enjoyment 8/10 This is a port of the Saturn version of Elevator Action Returns. The game is good, but unfortunately it's not perfectly ported. It gets the gameplay and visuals right, but there are some sound bugs. Sadly the "All characters completed" trophy is glitched. Unless you clear it with all three characters in a single sitting, ACC won't work. So, you can save the game at the final boss. After you clear the game and watch the ending, reload your save. Kill off your original character by jumping off the ledge, then continue with one of the other characters to finish the game again. City Connection really need to work on this some more. The final stage clear trophy requires you to beat stage 6 with the good ending. If you run out of time on the last section and get the bad ending, it won't count. This one is the most challenging in the list.
Popular Post Ala-Arska
It's been a while since I've posted anything here, so excuse me if I'm a bit rough 'round the edges. Anyways, to get the ball rolling again, here's my latest Plats from the last month or so: Yomawari: Night Alone (PS Vita) The Night Alone Earned all other trophies Not as scary as one would hope, but definitely creepy. I loved the atmosphere overall, there was an ominous presence throughout the game. Japanese/eastern titles have often huge contrasts in them, which for me is part of the charm (more about those contrasts in games listed below). Here the graphics look kinda cutesy and the protagonist is a little girl. But when the monsters come they will fuck you up all the same, and all that is left is a red bloody splat ? For Vita lovers, this is a solid purchase (as is Yomawari: Midnight Shadows too!). Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc (PS Vita) Despair's Last Reward Earned every other trophy in the game What the hell, these games are actually good! ? And here I've been, avoiding Danganronpas for years, thinking they would not be entertaining...silly me. Part visual novel, part murder mystery, 100% fucked up characters. I love it. Like in Yomawari, there's some in-game contrast to be found. On the outside, this seems almost like a game for the young 'uns. Blood is pink/violet-ish, there's a cute bear appearing etc. But on the inside...on the inside there's nasty violence, foul language (Fuck! Bitch! Fucking asshole!) and a sadistic fucking bear. Definitely worth checking out, if murder mysteries with twists tickles your fancy. NeuroVoider (PS Vita) All trophies obtained You obtained all NeuroVoider trophies Holy balls, Batman, was this one tough cookie. And then some! A twin-stick shooter with controls that are bound to give you carpal tunnel syndrome. Even on easiest difficulty, NeuroVoider does not fuck around ? Enemies love to swarm you and use unfair weapons like nukes, rockets and snipers to stop your existence in seconds. "Looping the game twice on Voider Mode" means beating the game twice in a row, on hardest setting, without dying. With RNG weapons. Having a mini-Nuke of your own is a must. That and oodles of patience. No wonder it took me over a year to complete ? A very good game with addicting gameplay and a killer soundtrack best described as "futuristic Hotline Miami". Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair (PS Vita) Hope's Last Reward Earned every other trophy in the game More messed up characters! More evil from Monokuma bear! And a cute pink Monomi bear! ? Now in island setting, Danganronpa 2 is pretty much the same as in the first one. Murders and twists are just as well-thought as before, students are spot-on likable/unlikable, language is still foul. And of course there's obligatory girl-on-girl shower/bath scenes. Death, taxes, almost-naked Japanese girls in games. Certainties of life. As much as I liked this sequel, I still preferred the first one. Mainly because the trials dragged on a bit here and were overall a step down from before, I think. Looking forward to tackle Danganronpa v3 and Ultra Despair Girls too. On Vita, of course. Because Vita is love, Vita is life. Axiom Verge (PS Vita) PatternMind You have fulfilled your legacy I'm having a bit of a PS Vita streak right now. I'm streaking! About Axiom Verge. A very well made metroidvania-type of game in footsteps of Super Metroid. I liked pretty much everything about AV. The setting, music, gameplay, overall mood...all clicks nicely together ? The only thing that annoyed me a bit was the teleporting ability, which happens by double clicking the left stick in one direction. This resulted in many accidental teleports, when just trying to move around (at least on Vita). It would have been nice to been able to map it to one of the buttons. But, besides that, I now understand all the praise Axiom Verge has been getting all these years. It really is great. In case I vanish again for a year or two, have a jolly good December, a merry X-Mas and a happy New Year!

I didn't hate it, but I was ready to be done with it well before the plat popped. Oh man I feel you. It's why it took me 10 months. I had around 50k by the time I had all the other trophies, rather than ruining the experience by grinding I picked it up here and there to play songs when I wanted. Even then at times it felt grindy, which is a shame because it works surprisingly well as a rhythm game. I hit a milestone today: #700 - Brave I was at 669 platinums when my girlfriend said she would bake me a cake for getting to 700. It was dubbed Operation Ekac, which I found quite funny as 'kac' means hangover in Polish. There was a joke in there somewhere. I could have made this challenge as easy or difficult as I wanted, had it finished in a couple of days if I really wanted that cake, but we both knew I had pride in my profile. I wanted my journey to cake to be an honourable one. You'll find a mix of games in my last 31 platinums, easy and hard, long and short, think there's a couple of ultra rare in there too for good measure. Just over two months later and here we are. I had picked Brave as #700 for a while as she reminds me of Merida and when I look back I'll remember this challenge, why I went so eagerly towards 700 platinums. As for the game itself, it's your standard PS2/3-era style movie tie-in; competent if unspectacular. The story is severely lacking and it's overall quite easy, but the platinum wasn't too frustrating beyond a minor grind at the end and it can pass a couple of afternoons if you're honestly in the mood for some Disney shooting and jumping.
Popular Post Golem25
Platinum #135 - Yakuza: Like A Dragon [PS5] The New Dragon - Obtained all trophies. 24,027 Owners - 3,519 Achievers for a percentage of 14.65% (average completion; 36.60%) Enjoyment; 9/10 Difficulty; 3/10 Trophies; 6/10 (Tiles not as nice as previously, no 100% completion required) Changing genres and still delivering; 10/10 Hello. My nickname is Golem25 and I am obsessed with Yakuza (and Yakuza-adjacent) games After over a decade of playing the Yakuza games, I finally got around to the latest mainline installment in the series; Yakuza: Like A Dragon, which coincidentally is also the first game in the long-running epic saga to feature turn-based RPG gameplay rather than the usual beat-'em-up fare that typified every single game in the series save for Kenzan, Dead Souls, and Ishin!. Released to great fanfare in 2020 with critical and popular acclaim coming developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio's way, Like A Dragon marked a fresh start beyond just the switch in gameplay. Kazuma Kiryu, the protagonist of all previous numbered entries, finally got to enjoy his retirement (or so we thought....) and a younger scoundrel by the name of Kasuga Ichiban took over. A great number of things can be said about Ichiban, but perhaps most important to call out is the fact that he has undiagnosed schizophrenia really loves Dragon Quest. We see the world through his eyes, and because of his undiagnosed schizophrenia his love for this famed series of RPG games, any battle with random street thugs Ichiban is drawn into is presented to us as a turn-based affair rather than anything in real time. A daring way to explain why the usually straightforward beat-'em-up combat against 'regular' human opponents is now an over-the-top affair against larger-than-life enemy archetypes (including enemies dressed up as trash bags), but one that ultimately is quite successful; the Yakuza games already had very surreal elements to them, albeit reserved to the side-content and minigames. For these more silly excesses to now bleed through to the battle-related gameplay was perhaps a matter of 'not if but when', and I think most long-time fans of the series will join me in saying that this didn't ruin Like A Dragon to any degree. It's an evolution, not a revolution. To continue with the fresh starts, Like A Dragon was called Ryu Ga Gotoku 7 in Japan, but for the Western release the number was dropped and the subtitle was added, ostensibly as a hommage to the Japanese name (Ryu Ga Gotoku means Like A Dragon, after all). No wonder that I kept the Plat to be my 7,000th Trophy for the PSNP milestone, then. With the benefit of hindsight, we now know that the subtitle was paving the way for a full name change in the West; the games will henceforth be called Like A Dragon rather than Yakuza in the West, which was arguably always a bit of an ineffective title and would only struggle to convey future games' central themes given the real life decline of the Yakuza in Japan. I found Ichiban to be an enjoyable protagonist, albeit not as good as Kiryu - of course, the latter is one of the best protagonists in fiction if you were to ask me, so Ichi had some massive boots to fill. Abandoned by his parents and raised in a soapland (consider that a bathroom-themed brothel without penetration, commonplace in Japan), Ichiban ended up falling in with a local Yakuza family as a teen, eventually taking the fall for one of his seniors and going to jail for long stint (and yes, the parallels with Kiryu are very clear here). Once released, he finds himself banished by his former brothers, and embarks on a journey across Japan to discover the truth behind the murder that he took responsibility for. This being an RPG, Ichi is joined by an eclectic selection of party members; a former detective, a former nurse, a handsome body-double, the daughter of a Senbei-shop owner, and a few others. All of them can be equipped with different skills and classes in what is typical JRPG fare, and they'll follow you throughout the overworld as you wander from random encounter to random encounter. And it's a big overworld this time around, perhaps even bigger than Yakuza 5 which was always by far the biggest entry in the series. Kamurocho (based on the real life Kabukicho area of Tokyo) returns as does Sotenbori (an expy of Osaka's Dotenbori), but they take a backseat to Isezaki Ijincho, a new district based on the real life district of Isezakicho in Yokohama, located just by the Minato Mirai 21 area which forms a splendid backdrop IRL and in-game. Isezaki Ijincho is truly, truly massive.... and perhaps a bit too big for my liking. The power of Yakuza's locations was always how dense they were; shops and minigames down every street and around every corner, with every inch of the map being visited during a playthrough. While I applaud the developers for providing such a large playground this time around, I feel that content is spread really, really thin due to the size; a lot of the streets feel lifeless due to low pedestrian numbers, and you're almost forced to rely on fast travel via taxis. This might be an odd nitpick considering bigger is usually considered better in gaming, but I feel a condensed, tighter map would have made for a more enjoyable experience overall. I'm also a bit disappointed in the Trophy list; for the initiated, this is closer to Yakuza 6 than it is to any of the other games in that you don't have to get anywhere near 100% completion, and while that is merciful considering how much content is on offer, I feel that having to go for 100% is much more rewarding and gives you way more bragging rights. Like A Dragon is still much harder than Yakuza 6 was though, as the developers require you to beat a very, very tough final dungeon that unlocks once you complete the game. The Final dungeon is a retread of the exact same area you go through to get to the final boss - including the exact same spawns with a few extra bosses sprinkled in - but this time with every opponent at the highest level. If you don't grind your own party to be max level and job (class) level, you are going to have a very, very bad time here. The Trophy for beating this dungeon as well as the Plat are the only 'Rare' Trophies on the list at the time of writing for this exact reason - the fact that the rest is all Uncommon and Common signifies both how relatively straightforward their requirement are, and how dedicated Yakuza fans are in unlocking them; I'd argue that the average rarity of every game in the series save for 6 and maybe Like A Dragon is higher than they have any right to be. I've spent most of this post bitching and moaning about the game like the old man I am, but guess what? Yakuza: Like A Dragon's still GOTY 2020 for me and still some of the best fun I've had in a long time compared to any other non-Yakuza game save for Shadow of the Colossus (play that game right now, please). It's hard to believe this is the developers' first stab at an RPG considering how pleasantly it plays, and a gargantuan milestone in series' history for how big the Isezaki Ijincho map is, even if it comes at the expense of there being very little to do in Kamurocho and especially Sotenbori (which has a mid-game dungeon, a few shops and restaurants, and nothing else of note). The story is fantastic as well even if it takes a little while to get going, meaning that the actual high stakes part of the narrative is shorter than it should be, but it is still an excellent introduction to Ichiban as a character and to the JRPG spin as the new main gameplay loop. Yakuza 8 Like A Dragon 8 is on the horizon in 2024 but not before we get a full remake of samurai-themed Ishin! in early 2023 and the short beat-'em-up spin-off Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name (starring John Yakuza) later in the year. I started all the way back in 2009 with the release of Yakuza 3 in the West, and having had to suffer through the drought between Dead Souls and Yakuza 5 being localized, I still cannot properly thank my lucky stars for just how well I and the other fans of the series are eating currently with so many high quality titles coming out of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios. I still have Kiwami 2 to play and Plat (which will mean I have Platted every single numbered entry), and also need to get to Lost Judgment and the Remastered versions of 3, 4, and 5. So, while I enjoyed Like A Dragon's JRPG elements, it will be a welcome return to the classic gameplay for me for now. The Yakuza Like A Dragon series will keep the JRPG style while the Judgment/spin-offs will mostly keep the traditional beat-'em-up gameplay, and you know what? That's fine by me, because both have their merits and can co-exist just fine. I might have been born too late to discover new lands on Earth, and born too early to discover the stars, but at least I'm right in time to enjoy these fine games. Bliss. Do yourself a favour and get into this series if you haven't already. Edited December 12, 2022 by Golem25

Popular Post Jermster_91
#113 Far Cry 6 (PS5) For some reason, Far Cry 6 didn't really click with me. I just didn't find it as enjoyable as a couple of the other Far Cry games. I dislike games where the bad guys have a health bar over their head when you shoot them, which this game has for the enemy soldiers and animals, Giancarlo Esposito's character seemed to be underused with only two or three interactions with the main character and the rest of the time, he is shown in cutscenes. I certainly took longer to get the Platinum for this game than if I put my head down and just grinded away at the game to get the trophies. I wouldn't recommend the game however don't let one person POV stop you from trying to go for the platinum if you are interested.
