Now, I can't claim to be much more than a casual fan of The Prodigy, or indeed rave or techno (or whatever you call it) as a genre, but Keith Flint's untimely death affected me more than expected. Been listening to their stuff on and off all year since.

 

Aside from their badass hypnotic grooves and almost psychedelic lyrical approach, there's a sense of authenticity, of integrity, to their stuff that I really appreciate. Their heart's in the right place. Lots of people misinterpret their message, as they all too many artists who use so many subversive lyrical narrative constructs.
