It's nice to have some variety, gameplay-wise. The motorcycle sequence was pretty cool, as was the part shortly after that. Sadly, I had to say goodbye to him after a certain boss turned him into scrap metal.

Friend to the Kodama
Obtained a Kodama's Soul Core.

 

Just keep giving the Sudamas any soul cores you don't want. Type, rank, and level don't matter. It is RNG driven. I was playing a Twilight Mission (Violet Cherry Blossoms/Lv 20) when this came up, so I'm wondering if that helped. Obtaining the KSC isn't enough... this trophy will come up once you purify it at a shrine.

 

Burst Breaker
Used the Brute, Feral, and Phantom Burst Counters five times each to counter a Burst Attack.

A True Master (Silver)

Earn all Gold Medals Available in the Mastery Challenge (Part I). 
 

I usually don’t rant on here, so let me have this one. As a backdrop, I’ve been a supporter of Valhalla and an advocate for this title. I  enjoyed the platinum journey and all the DLC so far. I’m almost at 100% and have logged about 181 hrs so far, just need to finish Mastery Challenge Part II and Forbidden Saga (which I’m actually pumped for). 
 

BUT this trophy nearly spoiled it for me. You’ve heard it already, but let me echo, the mechanics are broke AF and the AI is unpredictable, abrupt at times, and their pathways are so inconsistent. In stealth games,  you must rely on studying routes and behavior, right?

 

Let me get to the point- Valhalla was mot successful at stealth mechanics. Even combat to a degree. Why have a DLC centered around some of the game’s innate flaws? One round they can see thru walls, for example causing you to have to reset for the dozen time in a row. 
 

At least with challenging trophies, like the ‘Golden Child’ trophy in Rise of the Tomb Raider, if you f’d up your chance at a gold score, that was on you. In these horrendous mastery challenges, if you even look at the map funny, the AI will do something to sabotage your chances. Maybe a guard will just randomly walk in front of his accompanied mate’s throwing spear when you desperately needed to perform a special ability attack on said attacking victim to bolster a level requirement ? There’s like 50 other random ass examples of outlandish shenanigans  that can make you rage. Some levels you had to be perfect and even lucky on occasions. 
 

On a calm note, it should go downhill from here on my voyage to 100%. I hear Part II is more forgiving, less tight, more merciful. That’s a relief. I’m already putting some pressure on Forbidden Saga. Trusting the latest installment or the last content rolling out in late ‘22  will hopefully resurrect my original fondness towards Valhalla.  I hate that the Mastery Challenges made my affinity towards my game’s experience waver. Thanks for the vent! I use them sparingly

And that's all three titles in the mainline Jak and Daxter trilogy Platinumed. I had a great time with this one, and thought it was quite an improvement over Jak II. I was gonna collect all 600 Precursor Orbs legitimately, but I really wasn't enjoying the side missions at all, so I went back on my plan and relied on the orb glitch again. I understand completely if this revelation compels you to uninvite me from your birthday party. I was really looking forward to that cake, though...

 

I'll be playing Jak X: Combat Racing for my next Platinum, to cap this whole thing off with the last trophy-supported game in the series. I'll get around to playing the PSP games sometime down the line.

I'm now finishing off my collection of Jak and Daxter Platinum trophies with this game. It ended up going on sale right after I finished Jak 3; talk about good timing. Started playing yesterday and it's quite fun. I haven't gotten all too great of a grip on the handling or physics of the cars just yet, but I'm slowly getting better at it. This is one of those trophies that you can easily get without really trying for it specifically, though you probably shouldn't get shot and die during your drift like I did in this screenshot.

 

Once I finish this game's trophy list, I'll have every unique Jak and Daxter Platinum trophy... not a bad achievement, if I do say so myself.

Get a Yokai Weapon with an Imbue Corruption ability, and just keep on using it. There is a sentience gauge that will fill gradually, and when it hits 100% the weapon will talk to you. The 5th time it happens with the same weapon, this one is yours.
