Project Platinum: Call of Duty

CoD 1 is a decent challenge for some but I LOVE the older shooters, Duke 3D being one of my all time favorite games, I'm pretty good without regenerating health. With CoD 1 on vet though I had to kind of use a loophole for the plat. The difficulty trophies DON'T stack on this game, so I beat the thing on Vet right, then on the last check point of the game I lowered the difficulty and rebeat the end of the game on each difficulty level, hence I have the game completed on vet, then again on hardcore about an hour later, and about half an hour later on medium mode. Doing that makes it so much easier than replaying the game 3 times.

Declassified on the other hand was easy as balls. I did it in I think 10 days without any real effort and that was when I was just starting out with trophy hunting too. It's really, REALLY, easy. It's just that not too many people bought the game and those who did, didn't buy it for the (admittedly average) single player part, so the trophies went unearned. It's seriously, REALLY, REALLY, easy. This and Resistance on Vita (coincidentally by the same dev) are two of the easiest FPS platinums out there in my opinion.

Wow! I never heard about that CoD 1 exploit. I never really tried going for that platinum, but I have more motivation now knowing I wouldn't have to beat it on all the difficulties. Why not start on recruit, and then make the saves? Then you wouldn't need to go through the whole game on veteran? I haven't played the game in years so I am sure there is a reason you can't do that.

And wow. I am so surprised to hear that about declassified. I beat resistance which was mad easy. But I wouldn't picture declassified being anything remotely as easy as that. Especially hearing how people say it's a tough game on veteran. Maybe I need to try it out.

EDIT: ALSO THAT'S A FUCKING AMAZING way to get all the difficulty trophies on Classic.

Amen!!

Wish I could day that! But I have one mission that's giving me jip! It's mostly just that ?Escort Service? one (I think) where you save the hostage, use the sentry gun, defend the chopper etc. I just end up getting killed at the chopper bit every time! Then I'll try for the sniper trophy and secure that sweet sweet Vita plat!

Props to you Stoogebag! You're a true hero! None of this Half-hero bullshit ;)

EDIT: ALSO THAT'S A FUCKING AMAZING way to get all the difficulty trophies on Classic. I ended up playing it 4 times! (It was one of the first game I ever played on PS3 at a friend's house, so I started on Greenhorn and built my way up) eventually I learnt the layout of every level and found Veteran a lot easier when I got around to it, although I still had a hell of a hard time on some levels. *cough* damn German boat level *cough*

I don't remember the mission, sorry. It wasn't that exceptional of a game to me so I never replayed the story, I mostly played survival and the online bits when I had it, don't remember much of the story other than really enjoying the arcade-y feel of getting 100 points a kill proudly displayed on the screen, at least this CoD didn't take itself too seriously, and I'm fine with that. I remember there was one trophy for killing 4 guys with 2 bullets on a sniper mission or something like that, if you're on that one, just wait til they stand in front of each other, there's YouTube guides out there for it if you're having trouble, I had to look one up when I lent this game to a friend because they were stuck.

Yay, now I can stop swinging around New York saving people, because I'm finally a full fledged hero.

Any game that requires 4 playthroughs for a couple of trophies is just being mean. I don't care how much I like a game, if I want to play it four times, I will, if I have to play it four times, I probably won't.

Amen!!

IF (and that's a big if because I did this like 2 years ago, hell, probably almost 3 now to be honest) I remember correctly, you won't get the trophies if you turn up the difficulty after starting, so meaning if I started the game on greenhorn or whatever easy was called, and half way through set it to super hard mode, I wouldn't get the super hard completion trophy. However, if you beat it on veteran, and go back, to lower the difficulty, the trophy for that difficulty will pop as you'd gotten that far on a harder difficulty. So say I start on difficulty 1 (1 being the hardest) and at the end make myself difficulty 2, I'll pop the number 2 trophy on completion. Same goes for 3 and 4, being recruit and greenhorn last. Am I making sense? I'm kind of over the place here.

Give Declassified a go if you want, either way it's enjoyable, it's far from perfect though, but it's still fun. Maybe it's not as easy as I remember, but I found it REALLY, REALLY, easy. If I still had the game (and a Vita to play it on) I'd give the plat a go on my second account just to see how hard it really is.

I has 2 (Classic and Declassified), but I've been so close to finishing up Ghosts for so long, really should get around to it.

These threads are great.

Alright ! We even got Spiderman in. Added.

What? Never have I heard of this loophole nor even guides mention this. Though how is that possible changing the difficulty in the game? Options? I need to look into that..

Declassified is shite but its not that really hard at all. The only hard part you gonna deal with is the 4x double kill & no damage trophy. Though those who played other cod games on veteran, this could be a challenge for those.

Also classic is easy. You just gotta memorizied the levels. Its easy expect the British levels with the dam and that fuckin boat. Luckly I looked up a video tutorial on where the enemies spawn at. Really helps though..

Regular Soldier reporting for duty, sign me up, I fought in Advanced Warfare campaign.

Added. Welcome aboard solder.

It's in there somewhere, I've still got the game on my machine so I'll have a look sometime today or tomorrow, I think it was really weirdly set up though. Like you know how it makes a new save file every bloody time you beat a level? Well if you clicked new game and overwrote one of them or something if you picked a different difficulty it would resume there, but then, I don't really remember. Like I said, I'll have a look at it later on today but without any current saves on my machine I might have to replay a couple of levels to see what's what.
