Sony reportedly ending sale of PS Vita in Netherlands!

Stop lying to yourself. EU is Sony's main market. US is nowhere near that. While I can agree that Vita might not be doing well in EU, PS4 on the other hand is dominating.

So nice try.

No offense, but that doesn't mean that "EU is Sony's main market". Although reading the rest of the thread, I see that didn't stop your chirping.

Now all that is left is Nazar_Ops crazy argument.

I'd like to hear the resolution of it as well.

Edit: I wrote a lott.. oops. Also I only read the first post. .... I now see the little "brawl" that happened above my post. pls don't kill me ok. I'm mainly bashing GameStop because someone had mentioned GameStop &I work there too so ya.

GameStop is literally the only place that will sell Vitas&Vita games. I've went to so many BestBuys just to see what they have and honestly the selection makes me laugh(if there is even any) .. Most of the time there's a Persona 4 Dancing All Night.. maybe a Vita case as well if you're lucky. The local GameStop that I actually work at doesn't have that many new vita games just because they barely make/bring any to the US, but the our pre-owned section is phenomenal.. That's only because we have those games sent from the warehouse and to the store.

Once in a blue moon you have a customer come and trade in a vita.. sometimes with games. When they have games they literally only have one or two. Mainly just because people either lose this system, break the screen, or just idek.. You guys would be surprised by how many people come into the store actually looking for PSP games or the system itself.. so people actually haven't even moved on from that system yet too.. lol. Although I have noticed that the stores aren't populated with a lot of Vitas at all. The most I have ever seen in the store was 4.. and that was just because the Aqua Blue PS Vita that was a GameStop exclusive came out.. A GameStop exclusive only has 4...... They're also getting really harsh with the games that are released though. If nobody pre-orders that game, they will literally only be getting one copy of that game. For the same reason... the games &systems rarely ever sell.

So now back on topic.. It's probably because they just don't sell. I mean it really sucks, but then some of the companies who buy these systems and games to sell just have them sitting there because it was a waste of an investment on their part. But I'm sure we all know Japan is going absolutely crazy with their Vita development in the East and I am super jealous.. So many VN and other games that I really wish I could play, but typically I can't because I can't understand anything like that for my life.. and then stores that my boyfriend &I go to to buy these games such as Video Games New York & J&L have these games starting at least for $70.. I really wanted that Taiko Drum Master game for the Vita (which I'm surprised I know how to navigate that game even though it isn't hard lol) and my boyfriend ended up getting it for me.. which is great and all but he paid $90 for a Vita game.. no special edition or anything.. but for a Vita game.. A lot of these stores that import these games to the US have completely absurd prices and stuff.. pretty much to match scalper prices (they sell amiibos for $40 each lol) but that's what keeps them in business I guess.

I wish Sony had the same effort for the West like they do with Japan when it comes to developing games and such ;_;

..plus not to mention, I'm really not a fan of the PS Vita 2000 series or the Slim model.. It's waay to thin that I feel like I could practically snap the thing in half.. They should've just kept the original model..

That's the problem =D They can't =D

They have their hands full on both sides =D Vita is failing in the west, PS4 is failing in Japan, they don't know what to do first =D

Which is why they ignore both =D

Such a shame to hear, albeit unsurprising.  The Vita is a failure in the west (largely due to lack of diversity and terrible marketing of the console on Sony's part).  At least it gets plenty of love and then some in the Asian region. :)

Went all over Japan recently, there are literally walls of Vita games in the game shops, it was astounding. In fact I bought a Vita there with 3 games and am quite happy with it. As for the PS4, there seems to be a pretty big following. In all seriousness I only saw 1 person playing a 3ds in public in Sapporo, I expected to see allot more people playing hand held whether it's phone or console on the basis of popular belief. Retro gaming from the "OFF' stores seems to be huge and arcade still have street fighter from a decade ago. At this stage I'll be buying %99 of my Vita games from Japan, coming back to Australia and going game shopping was underwhelming though I don't put down my country because of that. The Vita is not a big thing here and it would be no loss to me if they stopped selling it all together in Aus since all of my game purchases will be online.

I'm tempted to buy a second one in case my Vita stops working or something goes wrong with it after Sony has ceased production on them. My Vita is over 4 years old now.

I might do that as well since I don't have faith in my PSVita surviving because of how much damage it got from College. The question is whether it will be a Black one or a Blue one.

I've got my eye on the Lime Green and White slim model. It looks so nice. If I can't find one of those, I'll probably stick with the Black model :)

Considering the backlog I have from PS Plus as well the PSP and PSone classics I have bought from the PS store, I can see myself playing Vita for a long time to come. It would be worth me buying a second one just in case my current one stops working.

That's a damn shame, I just got my vita a few months ago and love it. My sympathy to those effected

Sony has made no official announcement of not selling *Vita games* in the online store nor have they said that there will no longer be 2 Vita compatible games as part of Plus every month. This thread is still speculation that one website stopped selling Vitas.

If Sony stops including Vita compatible games with Plus, then it's official.

Oh crap I read that wrong....

That's way worse. Silver lining at least you could still import? :/

I don't know how much it would cost for you guys to do though...

The vita is slowing down, but ever since I got mine I loved it. I think they really shot themselves in the foot with the proprietary memory cards, if that wasn't a decision made, imo the vita may be doing great outside Japan

Everything is working except vita sellings in local stores. (where i couldnt find a vita anyways only specialised stores) Also the gamemania in utrecht only sells used vita games and no new games for a long time now.

:hmm: Well it could just be a rumor anyway (like the ps4k.... imo), but if it didn't end up effecting anyone, then I could see why Sony would do it
